"Little River Cooperative, Little River by Matthew Vander Werff & Ashley Melisse Abess. Muriel Olivares and Tiffany Noé are arguably the grand dames of urban agriculture in Miami. The duo operate a garden, farm, and nursery (the latter of which is located in Little River), as well as create and tend to private and restaurant gardens throughout Miami. The sites are open by appointment only, with the exception of programs and seasonal seedling sales held at the nursery (a must-attend for anyone attempting their own garden in the unique agricultural climate of South Florida.) For those wishing to sample Little River Cooperative's 40 varieties of organically-grown vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers year-round, a CSA program is offered. You can also find the duo at the Upper East Side Farmer's Market every Saturday selling their own fare, as well as Zak The Baker bread, pasture-raised eggs, and plants. Curious about the fruit trees in your (or your neighbor's) back yard? Pick up a copy of "Forager", co-authored by Noé and published by Miami's own Jai Alai Books."

I have learned so much through this nursery, not only about new varieties of plants but also about plant care and uses. They have great quality plants, a unique selection I haven't seen matched at any other nursery, and wonderful staff. The location is beautiful and pleasant to visit. Highly recommend for beginner and experienced gardeners!

Although Little River Cooperative is a long way from where I live, I still manage to visit a couple of times a year. I’ve learned a lot taking their classes and volunteering. They have an amazing collection of interesting plants with a lot of great information for each one. Thanks for everything you do for local gardeners.

Beautiful garden and green house shopping set up. My new favorite place to buy edible plants 💚

Little River Coop has been great. I get herbs and vegetables from them and have had Butterfly attracting flowers over the years. My lot is small, so I am limited to what I can do, but I've referred Little River Coop to others and I've driven down to their location in Redland to pick up new plants.

My team and I have had the honor and joy of working with Muriel, Tiffany and the Little River Cooperative team since 2015 on multiple projects, including community gardens for private businesses and activating larger-scale public spaces. In the first project, they created the largest urban, organic edible garden in the county at our venue, The Wynwood Yard. We are currently working with them again in our new space, The Doral Yard, and recently worked with them on a large-scale pedestrian activation in Downtown Doral. Muriel has brilliantly worked with us over the years to design and upgrade our gardens, always providing thoughtful insights into the layouts, materials and specific plants to grow within each area of the space (for each season and depending on our culinary needs, etc). The LRC team has provided a large range of additional services, including monthly maintenance to the gardens, leading community workshops and educational events, and jumping in for a variety consulting and garden-related projects as they arise. They are by far and away our #1 choice and recommended vendor for these types of projects, as they consistently display the highest level of creativity, professionalism and integrity. We are deeply grateful to the LRC team for designing, curating and tending to our beautiful gardens over the years. They have brought life and beauty to our spaces, and have shared a great deal of knowledge with our team and guests along the way!

Little River transformed my back and front yard into a food forest, people stop by to ask me what’s happening in the garden, it’s so beautiful! My outdoor space became a mini botanical garden, full of butterflies and flowers. Littleriver helped me to build a composting area, we have vegetal beds and in few months I have already harvested from the garden fruits, flowers, herbs and some vegetables started to appear. They helped me learn a bit about permaculture and how to replicate the nature’s wizard into our house. The transformation and love dedicated to us is a gift.

Little River Cooperative is an amazing resource. I bought Cranberry hibiscus plants from them and the plants were in perfect condition and wrapped beautifully and carefully. The plants have flourished here at Gipsy Hill Farm. I will use these plants for decorative purposes here on the farm in salads as garnish as well as in bouquets. I highly recommended their plants. Please see the hibiscus used in my vases!

Yelp
I purchased the 4" x 8" raised garden bed with custom blended soil and seasonal plants from Little River Cooperative and am so very pleased with my garden. They were very professional and knowledgeable. Within 3 hours I had a new raised garden with over 30 seasonal plants. . I was able to immediately pick greens for salads and within a two weeks had stir fry vegetables . The garden is a gift that keeps on giving- fresh salad greens every day since the installation ( 2 months) I highly recommend Little River Cooperative for all your gardening needs

Yelp
Truly cool edible garden Definitely had a laid back and welcoming feel to it. Staff are sweet and in true compliance with coronavirus rules. Only 4 people allowed in at a time and masks are a must right now. Once inside your offered a tray to put your items in to make shopping easier and lighter. Inside they have a mass variety of cool herbs, spices, soil, seeds and plants. They also give tips and even build and teach how to maintain gardens. Curbside and online ordering is also available. Saw garlic chives which are delish, spinach. bok choi, a variety of mustard greens, chard, kale, basik, mint, spearmint, etc. The variety just goes on and on. They had numerous variety of hot pepper to my delight. I was shopping for scotch bonnet pepper specifically and found they had a variety of hot pepper to choose from. Happy with my plant I paid and saw they had seeds, and natural sponges for sale (plant was there for pur hase as well). Curbside is also available and convenient but this place I feel you should get put and check it out. Might may you catch a green thumb. I have now subscribed to their mailing list to keep track of their happenings including online how to's. Love what their doing within this community and out reaching to more.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoy the garden Little River built for me. It was an easy process. Got it done in a day and worked with me through the whole process. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Great selection of herbs and veggies at an affordable price! Love the exhibit gardens so they can show you (beginners like me) what a real garden can look like. They offer workshops through out the year. I decided to attend one and learned lot and to top it off the class fee included making and taking home a seed starter kit of 50 plants!!! Win-win.

Yelp
Little River Co came & installed a 4x4 raised garden bed for me and I couldn't be happier. John & Nonnel arrived right on time and were speedy with the setup process. They are experts in agriculture and were a pleasure to speak to during the setup. I would highly recommend using them if you are interested in having an at-home garden. They bring & install the plants of your choice, and also give you tips on how to maintain them.

Yelp
Coolest little nursery in the city. I love homestead & the redlands but the drive kills me everytime. They carry a wide variety of seedlings which is awesome! If your looking for unique herbs or cool veggies this is the place to find them. They also have an entire co-op garden growing a variety of plants which is awesome to take kids to look at if your plant shopping. I definitely will be back to buy some plants!

Love this little gem! They always have season appropriate plants and vegetables. It always feel like an escape to visit their redlands location.

Yelp
This is my second year as part of the Little River Cooperative Farm's CSA and I am a huge fan. The farm has fields located up near Golden Glades and a nursery located in Little River. Occasionally they offer open houses where you can see all the magic. The owners of the farm, Muriel and Tiffany, can also been seen throughout Miami, creating and maintaining gardens at private homes, schools and restaurants. In addition to the CSA, they supply many local chefs with their fresh veggies. The CSA itself offers large and small shares, which are picked up weekly at the Upper East Side Farmer's Market at Legion Park. The season runs from November to April and features a wide variety of veggies and some fruits, including some unusual ones you cannot find in stores. For the price, you end up with more than enough vegetables for the week, including root veggies, greens, herbs and more. What I love most, beyond the quality, variety and the support given to community agriculture, is learning about new preparations for all these ingredients and being challenged by coming up with new recipes. This year's CSA membership is all sold out...if you want to join next year, try back in august or September, when registration opens up. They have veggies for sale at the farmer's market each Saturday, so swing by and pick some up.
