"International chain Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot closed its only Austin location at 2400 Seton Avenue as of Tuesday, October 3. The shutter of the restaurant, which had opened in April 2016, was because of low profits, the restaurant’s not-as-visible location on Seton Avenue off West 24th Street, and the growing number of Asian restaurants in the city, as Little Sheep manager Johnny Vuong told the Daily Texan." - Nadia Chaudhury

After recent 2 unpleasant visit I decided not to come to this place ever again. First time, when buffet was still an option, the serve speed was slow and amount of each portion was too little. At the end, the server complained that we did not pay them a good amount of tips. The next time I went, because there were only two of us, the servers put us in a narrow table, next to a wall. When we requested to sit in a wider area, the waiter told us they are reserved for group people and since there are only 2 of you, you can only sit where you are, despite the fact only few other tables were occupied. This is so unacceptable. Update: A friend demanded me to go to this place again. Prepared for the worst, I got completely surprised by the new deals they put up: 1. All you can eat is back. 2. They give plenty of food per serve and my friend and I only handled 1 round (you can do up to 3 rounds of orders). 3. The servers are much better and polite. 4. The give $5 off coupon to encourage you comeback next time. I am giving it 4 stars again.

This place is great! This was our first experience trying hot pot. I’ll break it down for you. You walk in you’re not really greeted per say, there’s a sign up sheet at the hostess desk and you write your name on it with the # of people in your party. They’ll come up when they have a table call your name and your seated. We waited 10-15 minutes to be seated. They didn’t really explain the process once you’re seated you’re handed some menus. You pick which style of hot pot you want. And it’s pretty much up to you to get the hang of it. I mean how hard is it to throw some meat in a boiling pot and letting it cook? 😅 We picked all you can eat for ($22.99) and that didn’t disappoint. Please make sure to eat all the food you ordered or you’ll get charged per 8 oz. The food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be trying this again!... Quick note parking can be a hassle so just make sure if you’re parking on the street you leave enough time on the meter for the possible wait time you may need before you are seated! It wasn’t the cleanest place, but I did see the waitresses make sure every table was as clean as possible before seating the next person. Great place overall!!!🙂😊

This place has one of the best hot pots I have ever eaten. They have an Ala carte menu as well as AYCE (All you can eat). I had the AYCE. They give you a paper menu with all the options they have, i.e meats, seafood, veggies, noodles to choose from. They allow 3 rounds, I could only finish round 1. They have 3 different types of broth to choose from. I would definitely recommend this place for social gatherings, as well as interactive dating.

I love this place! This was the first hot pot I’ve been to, so I don’t have much to compare it to. However I was really impressed. It’s easy to get carried away ordering things and have the bill too high. I realized it’s cheaper to get the combo where they give you vegetables and meet, and found it to be about the same amount of food. This is my go to place on a cold rainy day.

Love the variety of meats in the stew. The meat kabobs was good. Just didn't like the restroom, walked in on a guy that didn't lock the door, and second time, I knocked to see if anyone is in, no one responded. Then walked in to see the guy still there.

Loved the hot pot, tons of food, everything was fresh. Lots of veggie choices. Service was very good, helpful. This is not fast food, but food came out quickly. I will be coming back.

This was a very good place for hot pot. My wife and I went here for our honeymoon which made for a great evening. She is from HK and was very impressed as she went to this chain in Beijing. I'm told it's a little bit more expensive here and slightly more spicy than traditional hot pot. In my opinion if you're not acquainted with traditional food like this then it might not be what you're after. But if you like hot pot this is the ticket!

I love this place! Second time for me today, definitely going to be on my weekly lunch list. The lunch specials are amazing and I would recommend this place to anyone. The menu might be confusing at first, but don't be afraid to ask the waiting staff, they are especially useful in making this easy. This place is great if you are looking for a good low key spot to have a conversation or meeting. Great service and amazing food will keep you coming back.
