"Tin Vuong’s Little Sister dominates the South Bay with a location in Manhattan Beach and Redondo. For $39, try the shrimp, pork, and crab-stuffed dumplings to start, then the shaky shaky beef at both locations until dineLA ends." - Mona Holmes

Love this place for a cocktail at the bar after a long day. But also the service from Sanny, he is a trusted local and always helps get seated and served right away. I like to take my family and visitors here for the awesome shaky shaky beef and rice paper rolls. I have heard that the octopus is divine. The ambiance is dark Japanese inspired cool New York vibe. Food quality is good. The manhattan was great next to the dirty Martini

Little Sister is a Vietnamese restaurant that serves food for decadents! Though I will first say the suon nuong (Lemongrass grilled pork chop and chicken fat rice) does take some time to be served (about 40 minutes) but it was definitely worth while, and possibly the best pork chop I have eaten in a long time, I would just add that the customers should be warned about this wait time prior to being served the dish. The pork chop was tender, sweet, lean, with a slight herb and smoke taste from the grill and rub, it was juicy and absolutely delicious and the chicken fat rice has a subtly sweet and buttery flavor. The Banh Mi had delicious huge pieces of crispy pork belly, a unique fried egg soft boiled egg, paired with what I think is jasmine rice. Overall, even though the wait time could be addressed the food I had at Little Sisters was absolutely amazing, I will try their noodles the next time I go, but it is about whether or not your patient enough to wait for good food (Only for some dishes though).

Google
Very good food. We ordered a vermicelli noodle dish, the spring rolls, and the black rice tofu dish. All were very good and those are pretty much the only plant based vegan options. Wish they had some more options. The 4 pieces of eggplant that came with the tofu dish were excellent. Those could stand on their own and have a dish revolved around them. Our server(s) were fantastic. So attentive and great early dinner atmosphere. The thing I did not enjoy was the solo diner one table from us who talked on his phone the whole meal. Totally annoying, wish the manager had said something to the gentleman.

Google
Superb Vietnamese cuisine, tantalizing the taste buds to savor spices used with combine ingredients. By chance all-day Monday (don't know how long that'll last) food and drinks are "happy hour" prices (plates are appetizer size), so we ordered three delightfully scrumptious dishes. (Other than Monday, "happy hour" is 3-6pm other days.) Regular prices are rather pricey, yet the tantalizing gastro delight is worth experiencing at this quality Asian restaurant. Located in Redondo Beach Riviera Village area, parking curbside to the restaurant is scarce, however, there is metered parking in the surrounding and possibly a short walk to Little Sister.

Google
This was my first time there the flavors the spices were out of this world for my pallet. It was not hot and spicy, but delicious. And yes, I would go back currently they are not open for lunch, I recommend the lemongrass Saigon beef. You can almost lick the plate and the sticky rice was, well exceptional. If you’ve never been there and you wanna try something new, I suggest you go for happy hour which we did And we were not disappointed.

We made an early reservation for our family get together. We were 8 plus a baby. We were given a spacious table with plenty of room for the stroller. It’s a good looking place with a cool vibe. Service was great with everyone working well together. Our server Rebeka was the best. She totally looked after us with quiet efficiency and helped us negotiate our food for the table. It’s not cheap, but good quality food which mostly hit the mark. Thank you and good job guys

Indulged in a culinary journey at an upscale Vietnamese gem. Exceptional service paired with exquisite flavors elevated the dining experience. From the delicate shaky steak to the artfully presented dishes, each bite reflected authentic mastery. A fusion of tradition and innovation, this restaurant sets a new standard for Vietnamese gastronomy. A must-visit for connoisseurs seeking an elevated taste of Vietnam.

We used to frequent Little Sister when it first opened. We enjoyed the shareable plates and the cool ambiance. However, due to a disappointing experience, we stopped going. We decided to give it another try, but unfortunately, our experience was even worse. After waiting for 20 minutes for our drink order to be taken, we then had to wait over 40 minutes for our food and drinks to arrive. When they finally did, all of our dishes were brought out at once, and there was barely enough room on the table to fit everything. Our waitress was also nowhere to be found. Several of the dishes were excessively salty, particularly the garlic noodles, which were inedible. Lastly, the music was extremely loud and jarring, reminiscent of a 90s dance club. The volume was one issue, but the poor taste in music was another. It seemed that everything about Little Sister had declined. It no longer felt authentic to its original concept and seemed to be trying to transform into a trendy date establishment rather than focusing on providing a culinary experience. With the high prices, inedible food, inattentive waitstaff, and unbearable noise level, we regret to say that we will not be returning.

Yelp
Drinks were amazing ! Not a fan of the tiny shrimp in the papaya salad but everything else is amazing! If you don't like seeing eyes in your food avoid it but everything else was spectacular.

Yelp
I came here for my birthday dinner and was very disappointed overall of the service. We had reservations and when we arrived the host stand was empty and we had to wait awhile for someone to help us. At this point there was a small line. Our table wasn't ready but the host said it just had to be wiped down. When we sat down the table was still very wet and our menus were too. I shrugged it off as a busy night as it was Friday and a full house. We were not greeted with a server to ask us for drinks and after a long wait I believe the bartender helped us. We decided to put all our drink and food orders at once not knowing how often they would check on us. There was 6 of us and the server decided to not write our order down and he did not remember everything. Food came out in a timely manner and was good as we usually have experienced. Once we were slowing down and finishing that is when we went without a server for a very long time and could not get anyone's attention. I figured everyone was busy but kept noticing all the servers chatting at the bar. When we finally got our check it took 20 min for someone to remember to pick up our card. Overall disappointed in the service and hope things get turned around soon.

Yelp
Beautiful interior decorations and presentation of food and wonderful service with solid but not standout cuisine especially for the price. Food we tried: * Lemongrass Beef vermicelli - 3/5 - hearty portions, solid flavor, really appreciated the healthy balance of the greens, but not especially flavorful nor a unique rendition of this Vietnamese staple, especially for the price * Shaky Shaky Beef - 3.5/5 - overall well prepared beef with unique sides of vegetables and seasoned rice with solid flavors but not as impressed as others had been

Francisca M.

Yelp
Ambience was great, the service was great, the food was frankly disappointing. The prawns were salty, the banh mi, just plain. The fries were good. The pork belly was ok but way too salty for my taste. The crispy chicken was not impressive, it almost had a gamy taste to it...frankly not sure. I had the spiked thai iced tea....and i love thai iced tea....not impressed. Little sister claims an experience of "Dishes [that] blend and balance the spices and flavors of Southeast Asia with French techniques and Dutch and British colonial influences"...... It just didn't work for me.

Angela C.

Yelp
We didn't have a reservation so we sat at the bar. Anthony was the bartender extraordinaire and our server. Ordered the Vietnamese Chicken Salad, which is cold and has tons of shredded chicken and flavor, the popular Shaky Shaky Beef which has tender meat, rice and crunchy greens (not stringy) - lots of food here, and the Chicken and Shitake Dumplings that come in a very tasty broth. We haven't been here in a couple years so we're very happy to say it was very very good and busy for a reason! It was great to see all the servers come up to the bar to get the fancy cocktails. It's obvious the staff is well trained and super efficient. We'll be back soon!

Kostya R.

Yelp
If you're going to get one thing from this review... definitely order the garlic noodles!!! We also got the chicken wings which were bomb! Everything is family style so order a few things and share! The place is cozy and had nice ambiance. Our server Sam, was amazing she really made our experience great! She was friendly and super attentive. Food came out quick and so did the drinks! All in all I would definitely recommend this place if you're in Redondo Beach! I believe they have a few locations!

Stacey N.

Yelp
Go to another place for your vietnamese cuisine cravings. Pho noodles were mushy and clumpy. 3 day old bean sprouts. Vietnamese crepe was salty. Very minimal condiments. Helicopter wallpaper and barb wire reminiscent of the vietnamese war and is very distasteful.

Sabrina R.

Yelp
Good food and good service. The waiter checked in on us after we got our drinks and when my cocktail and ended up being more floral than I'd like he volunteered to swap it out, which was very kind of him. My mom and I split the garlic noodles (amazing) and the lemongrass beef noodles, which were a refreshing contrast and the meat perfectly charred. The salmon crudo appetizer had wonderful coconutty flavor, but the toppings were rather bland- I'm not sure I'd order that again for the price. With the 3 dishes we had leftovers. We made some room for their pecan dessert which was a decadent treat. I'd save room if you want it since it's rather hearty, but worth th splurge. The whiskey honey dates gave a great texture and brightness to it. Overall a delicious meal

Yelp
I defy any Yelp-er to come to Little Sister in Redondo Beach (Riviera Village) and not give a 5 star review. The food is both authentically and deliciously Vietnamese. Think your favorite hole in the wall -- elevated x100. Everyone from the host(ess) to the bartender (love Michael, LOVE) to the management (Oscar was beyond welcoming) is 5 PLUS stars. The cocktails? Like, you just have to sip yourself to truly understand. This (as my dad would say) is a Come Back place. Over and over...

Ryna D.

Yelp
This place has potential and I really expected to like it given its combination of modern Vietnamese and aesthetically pleasing interior. However, my experience at their Redondo location was very disappointing. It is overpriced, the cocktails a bit too sweet, and the food doesn't hit the right notes and worse of all, the service is rather bad. I gave them another shot by trying the Manhattan Beach location and that one gets a 3 stars because service was better but food was also underwhelming.

Paul C.

Yelp
What the heck happened here from my last visit? Service imploded. I feel sorry for the server as the kitchen staff let him down The kitchen delivered our three orders at 20 minute gaps. So each finished their plate before the next person got their dish. I've never seen this before and really made me question the professionalism of the kitchen staff. The server was embarrassed and offered free drinks. Appreciate the sentiment as he was suffering like we were. Ambiance : when did they decide loud hip hop music was the way to go? Looking at the other patrons, I'd say the average age is 65, and the patrons at the bar are about 75. Exactly the crowd for hip hop ? To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. They have some great food , but some real missteps going on here. I reluctantly have to reduce the grade of this establishment. If you come here , hopefully they'll have solved the issues but be forewarned.

Chan C.

Yelp
We went for happy hours. The portion is quite generous, and uniquely flavored with the Vietnamese fusion. It is a bit on the saltier side for my palate, but goes down really well with the happy hour drinks

Jessica H.

Yelp
First time at this location, it was pretty empty and started to get full as we were finishing. We were there during happy hour, and our drinks were on point and the food was good. My first time trying their sticky rice (def recommend) , and the lemongrass wings ( I didn't care much for these) I always order the papaya salad because of the flavor and freshness

Melissa L.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour on a Saturday. They do happy hour from 3-6 and have a number of dishes for $12 and specials on drinks. It was fabulous! Walking in, the restaurant is chic and trendy with colorful decor and a slight exotic feel. I wish they had an outdoor space. Service was great and in addition to the happy hour specials we ordered, our waiter recommended the shaky shaky beef which was a favorite! Food: Shaky shaky beef- 5/5 big chunks of tender beef(tasted like filet) with rice and a fragrant and tangy salad. Beef was tender and juicy. My favorite dish but quite small for the price. Lemongrass beef- 5/5 almost like a smaller less luxurious shaky shaky beef but great price for happy hour Xoi rice- 4/5 my friends loved this, thought the crispy rice was a fun texture Garlic noodles- 3/5 overly salty and just tasted like stir fry noodles with soy sauce. Least favorite of the group. Dumplings- 4/5 could not taste the crab in them but very yummy! Imperial rolls- 5/5 came with three rolls and papaya side salad to wrap with lettuce cups. Amazing sauce and texture! The happy hour at little sister is phenomenal and we will definitely be coming back! The dishes are so unique and pack a punch in the flavor department.

Yelp
This place is a reliably great place to grab dinner or lunch. Food is very tasty (though pricey) and service has been relatively solid (though have had a few hiccups in some visits).

Sima M.

Yelp
We came for lunch and it was nice and empty. Our waiter Michael Jacobson was very attentive, he went back and asked the chef to please accommodated my dietary restrictions, which is not easy. He came back and nicely explained to me what they could do. They were willing to make omit ingredients from the dishes that i could eat. I had the most wonderful, magical meal. I will be back again ( Tuesday to be exact ) Michael checked in with us , kept the drinks flowing, was patient, kind and made us feel so welcome. What an experience. Thank you!

Lena A.

Yelp
The food is not authentic Vietnamese. It's more geared for the American palate. The garlic noodles were flavorful but were basically just regular spaghetti pasta with garlic and Parmesan. It wasn't awful and you can have a decent meal here but if you're looking for more authentic Pho, this isn't the place.

Colleen G.

Yelp
We sat out in the patio area and enjoyed a lovely lunch. The service was very good and ambiance very nice. The food was awesome! We ordered the triple garlic noodles ... sooo good! and another dish with pork belly and shrimp and veggies mixed with some tasty sauce and bowl of rice (don't remember the name of the dish, doh!). I've been here a few times and will always come back!

Randi L.

Yelp
I stopped by this restaurant and it was perfect time for happy hour. Their happy hour menu is great. The food, drinks and service is all amazing. This is a great spot to dress up and sit at the bar. It's also a fit spot for a birthday dinner, date night or outing with friends. The inside is beautiful.

CharaGG K.

Yelp
Little Sister Redondo Beach is a charming gem delivering a five-star experience. The service is great, and the menu is a delightful journey of flavors. Cozy ambiance, perfect for any occasion. Five stars for a memorable culinary adventure! Will definitely go back!

James L.

Yelp
First time at this establishment for a work reunion dinner: The neighborhood is absolutely pristine and within 1300 feet of the ocean. Parking lot is actually metered spaces which has its pro's and con's = Wide spaces and safe parking immediately in front of the restaurant would be the pro's. Con would just be the cost of $0.25 per 10 minute intervals but we felt it was worth the cost. The atmosphere inside is quite nice with a quaint theme. Recommend booking reservation online at least 1/2 day ahead. Especially, considering this establishment's unique and quite honestly, ingenious 7 days a week happy hour. We had the Shaky Shaky Beef and the House Spiced Crispy Chicken. The Shaky Shaky Beef is basically a filet mignon and the Spiced Chicken is a blend between roasted/crispy chicken with heavy spices sprinkled over it. Both were solid but preferred the Shaky Shaky Beef with rice. Overall, very happy first experience and will come back. Oh, the place has clean restrooms, as well.

Vipula G.

Yelp
The Point is a nice place to hang out with some of the cooler restaurants in Redondo/El Segundo area. Little Sister is situated in this tiny mall, and serves fusion Vietnamese fare. We tried the Bahn-mi, which was really tasty but also looked like a subway sandwich. And not sure if fries are required but like I said, it's fusion. I liked the food enough to try and come back and check out their menu -lot of interesting items on it.

Peter T.

Yelp
The pho noodles were lumpy and overly soft. The bean sprouts were not fresh. The crepe was over seasoned. The condiments provided were extremely limited. The war was not one to be remembered, I don't know why they were so neglectful of the wallpaper and decor barb wire. Took 40 minutes to get 3 simple dishes out. Visit a different establishment to satisfy your desire for Vietnamese cuisine.

Kelsey G.

Yelp
This is one of our go tos when we want something a little different from all the other restaurants in the riviera. All the dishes are fresh, flavorful, and lively and cocktails are interesting.

Ki R.

Yelp
Second time here, with friends celebrating another birthday dinner. We enjoyed nem lui (pork skewers) and vietnamese crepe with shrimp and pork to start. Then we followed with a half chicken, black rice with seafood, shaky shaky beef three orders, and braised short rib with bone marrow (pate/butter/tomato jam). There were six of us dining this time. Four of us have been here before, and we all love the food and the service and the uniqueness of the restaurant.

Pete G.

Yelp
Not only did the exceptional service, but the drinks and food also surpassed my expectations. The attentiveness from the General Manager (Oscar Menendez) was pinnacle, our server Michael Jacobson did a great job and we were very pleased with his suggestions as this was our first time here. The other two servers (young ladies) although this was not their assigned table also exemplified attentiveness to us and were engaging. Definitely recommend and suggest to make a reservation. Also loved the playlist of music that they were playing! Thank you once again Oscar and Little Sister staff! A+++

Dolores H.

Yelp
My son celebrated my birthday here and I do say the food was excellent and the service was superb. Everyone was friendly and very accommodating with our two grandchildren. I surely recommend this place!!

Val G.

Yelp
We had made reservations for a Sunday but at 2:45 PM the place was less than half full. We were seated quickly and the hostess and waiters were all very polite and helpful. It was going to be some dad/son time with my youngest and he is a foodie like me so I knew we would enjoy trying some new things here at Little Sister. Since it was his birthday weekend, I let him order the dishes for us to share. He made some great pics starting with the pork, shrimp and crab dumplings. Came with an incredible sauce. Next they delivered the shaky shaky beef and it too was great. It came with some rice and a small salad. AND THEN, the huge platter of Black Rice with mussels, shrimp and so much more. A huge serving serving that could have probably fed 4 people by itself. Even though there were only two us, we knew we wanted to try several dishes and we were OK taking some home. I think the dessert was too much but how do you say NO to the birthday boy. Anyways the Pecan whiskey dessert with ice cream was very good. We both had a couple of cocktails. I started with the Whiskey Tea and my son had a Sandlot. Both were good but when we ordered a second drink, he switched to a Whiskey Tea. I must say, it is a very good and similar to an Old Fashion I would love to come back for Happy Hour. If it were my wife and I, we probably could have just had the Shaky Shaky and still brought some home. I must say that the experience was very positive but as we were talking about this place and others that we visit, I had to make the point that value has to be part of the equation. I loved the food and drinks and can say that the service was good but I have to compare between other restaurant/bars that have similar prices. Little, even petty, things like the ice not being clear. You may say "how is that important" but I can name 4-5 place that I have been to in that last month that are all slightly less and have all been served with clear ice. That is an easy thing to do, I even make clear ice at home. Other things too, we had two half plates of food and our waiter brings over a large container. ONE! We did fit both halves into a container but we have beef and seafood in the same container. If you want to play with other restaurants in that price range, there are expectations. As I mentioned previously, I hope to come back to Happy Hour. Everything was great but the HH value would make it a lot more attractive.

Cathy S.

Yelp
Came here a few weeks ago and this neighborhood is absolutely charming during the holidays! Little Sister serves delicious food! Service could have been nicer, table was a little sticky and the door being left open during the winter made the place a bit chilly but still - GREAT food, so I'm only docking a star. Wine - 5/5 Cannot recall which red we ordered but it was tasty and a generous pour Old Fashioned - 5/5 Yum Pork, Shrimp & Crab dumplings - 5/5 Absolute flavor bomb with each bite. My favorite dish! Saigon Lemongrass Beef w/ Vermicelli Noodles - 5/5 Mmmm! Tender and perfectly seasoned. Get this. "Goi Cuon" Fresh Spring Rolls - 4/5 The peanut sauce really elevated this appetizer Service - 3/5 Please properly clean the tables before seating another customer(s). Our table was food stained and sticky. Also, wipe down the seat. My seat still had a used cloth napkin on it.

Rita W.

Yelp
Nice and chill interior and exterior, great cocktails and flavorful food! I heard great things about Little Sister's beef tartare, and was so excited to try this dish last week, but they took it off the menu! NOOOO!!! Anyways, we ended up trying the following - Bo Tai Chanh - lime marinated raw beef, eggplant pickles, Vietnamese herbs, grilled baguette. Sounded the most beef tartare-like dish because of the raw beef, and it was pretty good. There were so many of the herbs that it overpowered most of the dish. It looked like a salad! My friend really liked the baguette portion, and it did go quite well with some of the beef plus veggies. Salmon Crudo - Coconut lime chili vinaigrette, lotus root, herbs. LOL, it looked so similar to the Bo tai chanh! Lots of greens on top. The salmon portion was really good though, but again, the other stuff overpowered most of the salmon. Nem Nuong - grilled pork spring roll, red leaf lettuce, mint, carrot, cucumber, house sauce. We expected a nice peanut sauce as that's what the sauce looked like, but ours wasn't really flavorful. The rice paper roll was alright. There was a nice crunchy bit that gave it some texture. Very refreshing dish or side. Shaky Shaky Beef - watercress, baby tomatoes, burnt butter soy. This is a dish with some rice that tastes similar to flavored omurice rice, and a salad. The beef itself was cooked quite well, but the beef and the sauce on the beef was super lemon-y! Somehow I didn't get that from the description, and I can't do certain citrus stuff (I developed an aversion toward certain lemon and orange scents/flavors when I got pregnant). It was super lemon-y throughout, as if lemon juice soaked through all the beef. I let my friends take most of this dish as I just couldn't eat more than a couple pieces. Hatori Hanzo - pretty good whisky based cocktail. We all thought the food was alright. Everything sounded better than it actually was, so perhaps they were having an off day? Is the shaky shaky beef to be that lemon-y or is it my taste buds? Anyways, we enjoyed the atmosphere here, but the food for what it is was pricey in comparison to how much we enjoyed it.

Lauren T.

Yelp
Loved everything we tried on the menu! It's all very different than food we usually get and we loved trying new dishes The service was great. Indoor seating, it's a little dark. Highly recommend!

Eric B.

Yelp
Sat for an hour and 25 minutes and received one dish. Other tables around us got several dishes in the time we waited. We were told the kitchen was backed up but overall very poor communication from staff to manage our expectations. We left since there was no real update when our entrees were coming.

Ryan R.

Yelp
4.5 stars. My wife and I stopped in before 6pm so we got the happy hour menu. Everything was $15. Basically items on the menu but a lighter portion so I don't think you are really saving money. We ordered 3 items and 1 dessert for the two of us. The food was very fresh and flavorful. My only gripe is the tables are very close together for two person parties. No Private conversations going on here.

Andy S.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE! This was my first time at Little Sister and they didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and so flavorful!! Really enjoyed the overall experience from the atmosphere, music, and excellent service! We had the shaky shaky beef, Saigon lemongrass beef, lobster curry rice and chicken wings!

Nar A.

Yelp
I used to love Little Sister in Manhattan Beach. The food, vibe and music were the best. Ladies and gentlemen please see the photos of my papaya salad with "shrimp", it's hysterical

Gino D.

Yelp
Great cocktails and adventurous entries. Especially loved the lobster roll and beef dishes.

Alek H.

Yelp
Met up with a friend for lunch today. I can understand fusion, but unfortunately we were left unimpressed. It felt slightly understaffed as the hostess and the bartender were doing most of the serving as well and some items took a while to get to us. They were very friendly, but knowing Vietnamese food, it just felt a bit underwhelming.

Lupe G.

Yelp
Michael makes the best drinks! Is generous and gives the best advice!! Worked an entire room on Sunday night BadAss and still managed to make everyone have a good night. We had the spring rolls, which you wrap in lettuce, garnish and they come with a very great tasting sauce. Unique yet fresh and crisp. Highly recommend.

Maria F.

Yelp
Sunday brunch with the family. At 11:30 am on a Sunday, there was plenty of tables available. We opted to sit indoors. The space is big and airy. The huge patio window let in a lot of light and air. We ordered a lot and finished it all. So satisfying. Pho Ga Banh Xeo Dumplings Escargot poppers Everything was well seasoned and deliciously presented. I can't choose a favorite, but the banh xeo beats out all other items by a mung bean. Enjoy!

Avelyn L.

Yelp
Food - very nice Service - friendly kind server Ambiance - friendly lovely place. :)

Gloria A.

Yelp
This place is on point. Everything from the food, ambiance, and service is phenomenal! This place is great for a date night or a family gathering. The music will have you dancing and singing in your seat. Oscar and his team do a great job of taking care of guests! My favorite items on the menu were the steamed dumplings, shaky shaky beef, garlic noodles, shrimp and pork spring rolls, and the Vietnamese seafood curry!

Carolina S.

Yelp
I went with a friend for happy hour and was delighted with the rice paper spring rolls. They were delicious!! Very attentive server. Will def be back.

Anna V.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious Vietnamese food but at a high pricepoint. I do really love coming here, but man is it hard to mentally justify things like a $20 bahn mi or pho. Ambiance is stellar - nice bar, good drinks, good music in the background. Decor is great! Area near restaurant is super walkable and parking is a breeze if you use the nearby metered parking lot. I went again last night and our waiter was great - had good recommendations and was conversational without being chatty.

Angela G.

Yelp
Loved it. Beautiful atmosphere. I had dinner at the bar alone and enjoyed myself. Would also be great for a date or a small group of friends. Jonathan was an attentive, wildly helpful & knowledgeable, and super kind server! I had the dumplings and Saigon lemongrass beef and every bite of both was packed with flavor and delicious. I'd advise to make a reservation if possible.

Melanie N.

Yelp
This upscale family style Vietnamese restaurant is definitely worth a try! We ordered so many items...most of them were photographed but some were missed cause we were just ready to dig in! From everything we ordered, I'd have to say my top picks were Crispy Prawns, Nem Nuong, Lemongrass Chicken Wings, & Shaky Shaky Beef! If there had to be one dish that I would recommend it would 100% be the Shaky Shaky Beef though! The beef was so tender and perfectly seasoned, the rice had a nice flavor that didn't overpower the dish, and the salad was refreshing. I ordered the Hatori Hanzo as my alcoholic beverage - it was well balanced and I'd definitely order it again. This restaurant captures authentic Vietnamese flavors but elevates it!

Karis K.

Yelp
This place is very mid, if you're Asian or have had good Vietnamese food this is pretty average or below average and less authentic but way more expensive- save your coin! Ambience is kinda weird too with weird helicopter wall decals. Servers also weren't very friendly I'd rather receive bad service from a legit viet place and get food that is way better and cheaper. sadly another fail as Asian "fusion" that feels like it's just putting a fat price on mid tier food TLDR: IF YOUVE EVER HAD VIET FOOD DONT COME HERE ITS SO MID AND A RIP OFF

Nathan P.

Yelp
Came here 06/14/2022. This was on a Tuesday around 4:30 PM for lunch in a party of 2. The restaurant was completely empty and there was no wait. We ordered the escargot poppers, pork/beef skewers, pan fried e-fu noodle, and saigon lemongrass beef. The food here is energetic, vibrant, and unique; it's a modern take on Vietnamese cuisine. Escargot poppers: 8/10. Piping hot in fresh pastry dough with a thick, herb filled interior. I couldn't really taste the escargot nor find chunks of it which was a bit disappointing. I think it was finely minced in rather than one whole piece. Worth giving it a try though! Pork/beef skewers: 9/10. This was a really unique appetizer of three skewers grilled to char on lemongrass(?) sticks. It's served in a style of "make your own wrap" with lettuce. There's radish and carrot topping, fresh herbs, red onions, and sauce. Kinda like a healthier spring roll. Great for the table. Pan fried e fu noodle: 2/10. Not sure what they were going for here. It said the entree comes with pork but I literally found a single piece of pork in the dish. The noodles are thick and chewy which is nice but the sauce on it was quite salty and made the dish fall apart. The noodles and sauce didn't feel cohesive. I forgot to take a picture, but to their credit they took it off my tab (I had 2 bites and couldn't continue lol). Saigon lemongrass beef: 9/10. A fresh vermicelli salad dish with a moderately generous portion of grilled beef on top. I love simple, vibrant dishes like these. If you're stuck on an entree and feeling healthy, I'd suggest this.

Yelp
Pains me to write this. I've been a huge fan of Little Sister, including the former Suburbia (also from Chef Tin) at this location for years. It was my go-to place for all special occasions, Friday happy hour, and a must-go with out-of-town guests. I receive LS gift cards from friends & family because I love the place so much. Sadly, my recent visits have been disappointing. Went there for happy hour last weekend, ALL happy hour appetizers are now $15 (from $8-$12), and red wine was excluded (yes, really) from the wine list. Not a great HH menu compared to the competition in the Village. I attempted to order the Lunar New Year dinner for $65, only to be told that two of the offered items were not available. Why offer this special menu at all when the selections are slim? On another visit late last year, the garlic noodles, one of my regular items, lacked the garlic flavor it's known for, and the other dishes were just ok, as if the bold seasonings were replaced by standard spices. On yet another visit, it took 30 minutes to receive an entree. We were full by the time it arrived. Look, I'll probably go back this year owing to the remaining gift card that can't go to waste. Just bummed because we finally get an amazing restaurant in our somewhat food desert area of the South Bay, and their quality has started to decline. It was definitely amazing while it lasted.

Yelp
This was my first time going here. The restaurant staff were friendly, the room was clean, and had nice natural lighting. We started off with some cocktails, that were refreshing. The appetizers were amazing. We tried the crispy prawns and bone marrow. I've never had that at any other Asian cuisine restaurant, which made it a new delicious experience. The bone marrow appetizer was my favorite. The dinner plates that I shared were the house triple garlic noodles and shaky shaky beef. The noodles were perfection. I ate way more than I had planned on. The shaky shaky beef, when dipped in that sauce they offer, was salty, peppery goodness. I will forever be craving these items. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Met some friends for dinner. It was a rainy evening when we arrived. The front greeted us and sat us a the mayor's table. We had chairs and booth sitting which was great to select. The ambiance was a 10 with a cozy, relaxing but busy atmosphere. The other friends arrived 5mins after us. Our server was delightful and greeted us but saw we were talking and saying hello so he came back. His food recommendations were excellent. We tried them all. The food was full of flavor, texture and it was delicious. He recommended family style ordering which we did. We had a chance to try different dishes. It was so good, we left nothing. One of our couples in the group brought some wine which compliments the food. Our server kept us in the loop when the kitchen was getting ready to close so if we wanted to order more. The bill was reasonable and we were full. Didn't get to try the dessert but will be back. I give an all around 10! Great job
