Where to Eat in SF’s Chinatown, According to Brandon Jew - AFAR

"Located a few blocks from Portsmouth Square, this bakery is known for savory items like pork sung and scallion cake rolls as well as contemporary desserts such as crepe cakes and cream puffs; don’t miss the pineapple buns, which feature a distinctive crosshatch topping despite containing no pineapple." - Mae Hamilton

This little hidden GEM in the City of San Francisco offers a wide range of tasty baked good and sweet breads! The restaurant is clean, well organized and shows a display that has most of our tongues watering for a Tasty Treat! Really fair prices & low cost for being in the Central location of Chinatown.

Google
Beautiful birthday cake, tastes delicious too. They show you an ipad w photo options, you order, they take down your number and info on a slip of paper, and you keep your slip, and you use that to pick it up next afternoon. Comes with a plastic cake cutter (safe) and like three complimentary candles (red blue and white so maybe either ask them to do all 3 same color or whatever) Flowers are not included I personally added them.

Google
This is a slightly upscale bakery in Chinatown. Better quality and less dense baked goods than the cheap bakeries. Want better treats? This is the place. Fair prices for our favorite pineapple buns. The lines move along pretty fast.

I walked past this store often, but haven’t tried it until recently, since their prices are sightly higher than other Chinatown bakeries. Now I’ve tried their bread and coffee and they’re really good - I look forward to go back every morning!! Takes credit card for purchase over $6. Staff are quite polite.

We went later in the day, so selection was limited. This Chinatown bakery shop is clean, with individually wrapped cakes and buns for reasonable prices. Our favourite was the pineapple bun, a sweet brioche type bun with a sweet crusty top (made to look like pineapple, does not actually contain pineapple). The chocolate chiffon cake was very light and fluffy, not very sweet. Wish it had more cream filling though! Note: must spend $6+ to use credit card for payment.

Nice clerk, and beautiful patisseries. Food is very good. I recommend the taro !

Google
We were walking through china town and passed by this place. Saw it was crowded so we thought we should try it! Omg their stuff is really good. It's not overly sweet and you could really taste the main ingredients that should be highlighted. I'd say definitely try the sweet potato bread and the black sesame bread! To our surprise they also have 15% off due to their opening! Their stuff is much better than what I'd get in downtown Toronto!

Google
Little Swan Bakery has a wide selection of sponge cakes and pastries. The packaged treats make it easy for consumers to take home. Their Mango and Blueberry Mousse Cakes are delicious. Yum!

Yelp
Very lovely but smallish bakery in the middle of Chinatown. They have some very tasty gourmet (crepe) cakes and pastries. I also love their little swan logo and name. Cute! Located on Stockton St and Broadway. Very hard to find parking here. We mostly walk.

Yelp
The cream puffs always sell out if you come later in the day. Prices for cream puffs are updated below. $1.30 vanilla $1.50 matcha or chocolate

Yelp
Gem. Unlocked a new favorite bakery in Chinatown. Here is what I tried: Vanilla Cream Puff: OMG 10/5 so good $1.30 I would love a whole box! Black Sesame Ham Bun: solid 4/5 sweet bun with savory ham is hard to go wrong and crispy little sesame seeds Croissant: nothing to write home about but my son loved them and you get two for $1.80 and it's hard to beat that price. BBQ Pork Bun (large): solid but maybe have been better heated for a few seconds 4/5 $2.50 Sausage Braided Bread: 3/5 would skip next time by my husband loved it. $2.80

Yelp
I picked up an assortment of breads while I was in Chinatown and I really appreciated that this store took credit card, which can be a rarity in this part of town. Overall, I wouldn't say anything blew me away (note: I didn't try any of the cakes, which most of the other reviews are for), but there were definitely some solid bites. Egg Tart (3.5/5): A standard egg tart, not my favorite I've ever had given all the fresh options in the area, but would hit the spot if you were craving it. Custard is very egg forward and the crust was flaky enough. Mini-Red Bean Loaf (4/5): Super generous with the red bean and the bread itself was buttery and soft. Pork Floss and Scallion Roll Cake (4.25/5): A surprising hit - great balance of being a sweet with savory notes from the pork floss and scallions. The cake itself was moist and definitely would be one of my regular pickups.

Yelp
My parents cannot stop going to bakeries where you can pick out your own pre-packaged treats. I have glossed over this bakery many times while in Chinatown because it looks a little empty & sterile inside with no seating, just a white interior with rows of packaged breads. I definitely underestimated them. I have only gone when I was desperate in the early mornings and everywhere else was closed and their treats were surprisingly delicious everytime! I LOVED their crepe cakes, especially their DURIAN FLAVOR! It's so flavorful but lightweight and not too sweet (I really thought it would be nauseatingly sugary but I was WRONG). I really enjoyed their matcha red bean roll cake as well - great snack that held up during travel! I think the only thing I was iffy on was their coconut cream bread but I also just don't really enjoy that type of sweet treat in general. Has a card minimum of $7 so definitely recommend buying several treats or bringing a friend!

Yelp
Still one of my all time favorite bakeries around! I recommend going early so you'll get the best selection of breads. I went this time in the afternoon and most of the popular flavors were already gone. I needed a cake for a birthday and I live too far away to preorder so I grabbed one of the ones in the case. Not sure if it was because it was a Saturday but they only had two available. A large and a small. The larger one was chocolate and the smaller one was strawberry. I grabbed the smaller one and it ended up feeding 7 people with leftovers. The price was around $38. If you want to get a cake, I would recommend popping in early and placing a preorder. You'll get a lot more choices and flavors. Oh ya as a tip, this is your typical traditional Chinese bakery so expect mass chaos. Lots of yelling and line cutting. Just have to go for it and get right in there and get what you need and get out. The chaos is worth the goods!

Yelp
I've had their durian crepe cake a couple times and been impressed - VERY DURIAN. Actual pieces of fruit. Not too sweet. Not cheap - definitely a treat. Comes in a self-contained box with little fork, though the staple closure it a little hard to open and kinda a hazard. Tried the cream puffs too and they were extremely sweet so would pass on those in the future.
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite crepe cake in the city! I prefer Asian cakes because they are usually lighter and less sweet. You can taste how fresh the cream is, and the match flavor is not too overpowering / bitter. The cake also feeds at least 6-8 people and everyone can get a sizable slice! It was really easy to place the order over the phone, and pick up was very seamless as well. The bakery is so cute and had a lot of other sweet and savory pastries that were well organized to choose from. Highly recommend ordering their crepe cake or stopping by to grab baked goods :)
google avatar

Angelina Z.

Yelp
I may have unlocked a new favorite Asian pastry. I love pork floss and I love sponge cake, and the combination was quite delicious. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
Good selection of items of traditional and less traditional bakery items. Each individually wrapped for freshness.

Yelp
Tasty and unique baked good. Highly recommend it for specialties. Staff are nice and place is clean. Sorry, forgot to take the picture before we ate all the food.

Yelp
If you are ever craving durian, this durian crepe cake is exactly the dessert for you. The smell hits you just as you open the little box (stapled securely on both sides), and permeates through every bite. The flavor is not too sweet and distinctly durian. Creamy and somewhat pungent, layered between soft, thin crepes.
google avatar

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Convenient bakery shop in Chinatown offering up Chinese pastry specialties! Squid ink with tuna was interesting, but left for umami and more noted taste. Soft baked breads, for the win. They have these flavored crepe layer cakes, it was ok. The sesame flavor was lacking. Subtle sweets. I got lucky on the ordering - she spoke English to help me ring it up in bulk and etc.

Yelp
This small Chinese fusion bakery is way better than 85C bakery. They offer some 85C dupes, Japanese-inspired buns, roll cakes, crepe cakes, and more. I usually get the strawberry and blueberry cake slices, both are fresh, fluffy, not too sweet, and airy. Plus none of the fruits got mold when I left it inside the fridge for over 3 days compared to corporate Chinese bakeries I had in the past. I also love their Japanese-inspired buns which have flavor and fluffy texture. I would love to purchase the whole store but I can't fit in my bag lol. Overall, the service is okay; it's a takeout service and the crew only handles the register fast while others maintain the neatness of their display. It's a cute little bakery shop with no seats at all and less street parking, so it's best to take public transportation and walk there.

Yelp
The green tea cake was bitter and neither of us wanted more than 3 bites. The egg tarts were by far the worst of the 6 shops we sampled.

Yelp
Mango mouse tastes as great as it looks. Fresh, clean, smooth, not overly sweet, highly recommended will buy again

Yelp
As mousse cakes go, Little Swan has delicious cakes. Super fresh, light and flavorful. I've enjoyed the mango sponge cake on several occasions. Moist sponge with layers of mango mousse. A leaf of dark chocolate and several berries decorating the top. I've seen people walking out of the bakery with big boxes of cake. Whether it be the Japanese style cheesecake, mousse cake or multi-layer crepe cake. Excellent cakes & cream puffs. Marie Antoinette would be happy with Little Swan's offering. "Let them eat cake!" So we should...

Yelp
The Japanese Cheesecake is what it's all about!!! I have been craving real Japanese style cheesecake since I moved to the US. It is so good here that I bought 3 whole cakes. My kids and nephews went bananas for it. I have lived in the Bay Area for over 20 years and this is hands down the best cheesecake around. Not too sweet, melts in your mouth and has the authentic glaze on top. The people working here were so nice and I wanted to eat every baked thing in the store. The store itself is tiny and in Chinatown which makes it pretty much impossible to park. Anyways, my review is getting a little weird bc it's obvious how obsessed I am with this particular treat. Just trust me and get yourself some cake!
google avatar

Priyanka S.

Yelp
Little Swan bakery is delicious! When me and my boyfriend went, we browsed all of the savory and sweet, pastries, and ended up getting the garlic bread the corn cheese, bread, and the Japanese cheesecake slice, and durian crêpe cakes slice. Out of these, the most delicious items included the corn cheese bread, and garlic bread. The garlic bread had a creamy garlic filling on the inside, which was delicious and the corn cheese bread was spongy, moist and decadent. Japanese cheesecake on the other hand while sweet felt a little bland and the durian crêpe cake was a tad overwhelming in flavor and quite stringy, however, my partner loved both of the cakes, so if you have a sweet tooth you definitely will enjoy their cake selections. All in all, this bakery is absolutely fabulous, inexpensive, and a must try if you are in the Chinatown area of San Francisco!

Yelp
3.5 stars.... Came here yesterday for the first time to buy cream puffs. My husband brought some home for me before and I remembered them tasting decent. The prices online said they cost $.90 for the chocolate and matcha and $.70 for the vanilla. When I asked the lady, she said it was $1.10 each. In reality, the prices were $1 for the vanilla cream puff and $1.20 for the matcha and chocolate, which were still cheap. I placed two separate orders, one half dozen with two of each flavor and another order for 10 cream puffs (four matcha, three vanilla, and three chocolate). Right away, the lady started bagging them in a clear, plastic pastry bag and started stuffing them roughly to make them fit. Umm... these were cream puffs so if she continued to handle them that rough, did she not think they would crack and make a mess? When I ordered with this lady, we spoke in Cantonese first. When I asked her could she placed them in a box since I was bringing them to a birthday party and it looked weird to be carrying them in multiple clear plastic bags, she started speaking mandarin that I needed to order another cream puff for a box. I said ok, add another cream puff. Then she roughly poured all the cream puff in the box and it looked like a mess. I did not understand why she had so much attitude since it was not even busy in there. I was one of two customers at the time and the other customer was talking to a worker at the bread station. When I paid, I realized she actually charged me for a dozen cream puffs to get a box. Two extra cream puffs for $2.20 was not the problem but she was just so rude and did not even ask me what flavors I wanted for the two extra she charged me. This lady just needed to work on customer services. I usually buy a lot of pasties in Chinatown and this was by far the rudest service I experienced in SF Chinatown. Hopefully the next time I come back, she learned some customer services and manners. Note: Their cream puffs were not too sweet but the vanilla one actually tasted the best, IMO.

Yelp
Came here to pick up the famous durian crepe cake for a Father's day party and it was a hit! Located on Broadway and Stockton, Little Swan Bakery is a little shop selling delicious Asian pastries, bread, cakes, etc. We came on a Sunday afternoon and the place was luckily empty. We ordered: 2x Black sesame crepe cake slice - super nutty and smooth black sesame cream! Definitely get if you're a fan of black sesame. 2x Durian crepe cake slice - the main reason we came. Should have grabbed more! The four cakes survived the drive from SF to SJ (no melted cream, crepe still soft). My dad loved that there were durian chunks still noticeable in the cake itself. He ended up taking a whole black sesame slice home. The cakes went fast so I didn't get a chance to snap pics!
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
Wonderful little bakery. Definitely if you get anything here let it be the crepe cakes!! Black sesame and matcha were both amazing. Fluffy light layers and not too sweet but flavors were still strong! Breads were fresh too. Most memorable is the mango roll. Light mango cream flavor was yummy!
google avatar

Yelp
My mom bought a couple pastries from Little Swan to give to me and everything I had was super good! The standout item to me was the mochi cheese bread balls that I had, these were so chewy and delicious with cheese on top and a hint of sweetness. I also had their garlic bread which was the perfect soft brioche bread filled with garlic buttery goodness. The red bean twist was also good, though I liked the savory items more. I'll definitely come back on my own time to take a look at the other offerings!
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
Oh my god. Upon entering the small, but charming, bakery, you're embraced by a myriad of sweet, saccharine smells. It's absolutely heavenly. The shelves are stocked with the cutest and prettiest looking pastries, cakes, and desserts, and I couldn't help but linger by each case. I'm awfully indecisive, so the pastry selection process was such a difficult ordeal. Ultimately, we decided on a pineapple bun, red bean twist(?), and a fluffy cake whose name I'm totally blanking on. They were all so incredibly delicious. I wish I lived nearby so that I could eat my way through this entire bakery!
google avatar

Yoojin S.

Yelp
Delicious cream puffs hands down!! The cream a mix of whip & custard creme. The puff is absolutely delicious, crunchy on the outside. You can only taste the crunch the day of, before you put it in your fridge. Eat it right away. Japanese cheesecake quite good. It's thick and petite, perfectly sweetened. Matcha Crepe cake is my favorite cake, but here was just okay though. I thought it needed to be more sweet. Matcha flavor was pretty mild.

Vhinkie F.

Yelp
Would I come back? No Would I recommend to anyone? No Matcha crepe cake- 0/10, took one bite then threw it out. So extremely bitter & tastes like raw matcha powder but worse. Japanese cheesecake- 6.5/10, edible but probably wouldn't get again
google avatar

Shelley P.

Yelp
Very similar to 85 C! It's a little more elevated than your typical Chinese bakery, with creative spins on the classic buns. If you're looking for the no frills, lowest price baked goods, you'll want to go somewhere else, but if you want cuter items and nice cakes (they have crepe cakes here!) Little Swan is the spot! I tried a couple different savory breads and they were nice and fluffy and satisfying (hotdog bun nostalgia was real). The sponge cake with blueberry filling was new to me but not my favorite.
google avatar

Sophia W.

Yelp
They have a lot of freshly made pastries that they make daily. This place is super crowded. I ordered a mocha moose cake ($28) and it was so good! When order the cake, ask for a new one and they'll go in the back and make you fresh on. Don't get the ones in the display area as I don't think they change those out until someone "buys" it.
google avatar

Natalie M.

Yelp
This place hit the spot. Get the durian crepe cake. Perfect balance of cream and durian. It's also very soft. I love durian desserts so I was glad this wasn't too sweet and I could still taste the durian. It gets busy and they have an array of other pastries. I got a cheese roll and another sweet bread. So so sooooo great. Go check out this cafe out! Fantastic little desserts which great flavor and sweetness.
google avatar

Hailey C.

Yelp
Amazing little hidden gem. I am surprised it does not have more reviews but it is hidden away in a busy crowded street in SF Chinatown. Their cakes are soft, light and fluffy and so refined and pretty. Classic Asian bakery style with their chiffon style cakes which are very tasty and not too sweet. Would make a great gift since they are decorated so elegantly. Everything is reasonably priced and actually quite a steal especially compared to regular San Francisco bakery prices.
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
The best Durian crepe cake I've had in the Bay Area by a stretch. Tried most of the crepe cakes in the Bay Area from the chains to the smaller places boutique, and this was perhaps the best in terms of creme/crepe ratio, and refrigeration. (Some of the places make their cakes earlier and then refrigerate them which changes the texture and flavor even if you let it thaw out - not a fan). The flavor was perfect! Little Swan's was fresh. Also good chunks of creamy durian throughout the cake that makes this one stand out far above the rest. I'm definitely going to come back to try other cakes!
google avatar

Yelp
I have a forever grudge against this bakery, because I witness something long time ago which is disgusting. I said I would never come back because what the staff did is insanitary. But my niece and nephew loves their Cranberry walnut wheat bun, as well as my mom. So I shop here every other week, just to buy them that bun! All their buns, pastry and cakes are made fresh every day. But slow to put it out. I came in today at 9:20 and their cabinets were 80% extort. Their egg tarts & Portuguese egg tarts takes the longest, it'll come out at 10:20/10:30. Their prices are insanely high. It's nice they're individually packed, like most places are now. However, even before the pandemic, they would individually wrap them for you when you go to the register to pay. I also bought a cake today (for my baby nephews bday) and a cold Hazlenut latte because I was dying of thirst. The mango mousse cake $50 for 7 inches! The shop is small & quiet. You have to be careful when stepping back. It gets easily crowded in there. The line can get confusing. There are 2 registers, so you assume it's 2 lines but it's really one, but customers don't know that and end up making 2 lines, unless they ask and it's like why..? But sure ..??

Yelp
**During Quarantine Review: April 2021** Came here on a recommendation to try the mille crepe cake. On my visit they did allow one party at a time enter the store and staff wore masks. Since their slices came highly recommended I decided on a matcha green tea for myself and a durian for my friend. Check out was easy and the dessert even came with it's own container and utensil - hooray! I love the intentional packaging. However, I wasn't all that impressed with the taste of the crepe cake. All I could recall was cream upon cream, and I prefer a little more bite with the crepe itself, and a lighter cream filling between slices, but if you like cream then you might like this!
google avatar

Cee V.

Yelp
My family loves durian and Little Swan Bakery has the best Durian Crepe cake in the Bay! The cake tastes very fresh and packed with flavor! Highly recommend for durian lovers. The have other flavors like black sesame, matcha, strawberry and mango too! The staff is really busy but is always willing to help and answer questions. If you're ordering any cake, especially the crepe cake, make sure to call in advance. I usually place my order at least 3 days in advance to ensure a smooth pick up!
google avatar

Yelp
Love their thousand layer durian cake slices but the lady at the cash register are very rude.
google avatar

Benny W.

Yelp
This bakery is located right in the heart of Chinatown. They offer a good variety of freshly baked goods. The prices are fairly reasonable. The cream puffs are only $1.20 each. They come in three different flavors, which are: chocolate, vanilla, and green tea. Out of all the baked goods that I bought here, my favorites are the pumpkin yolk bun, walnut wheat bread, and the cream puffs. They have a drink menu on the wall. However, there's a sign that said they're not selling beverages (maybe due to COVID19 or the machines are out of order).
google avatar

Mila N.

Yelp
Most of the buns are fresh and tasty. I like how this store offers a variety of breads and desserts. My kids like their strawberry moose cake. It tastes so good!! Price was reasonable. Customer service was friendly. Ambiance was very clean and organized.
google avatar

Jade P.

Yelp
They are a bit pricey. Believe me, you will think they're money worthy after your first bite. You can tell the difference from other bakeries in Chinatown. Will buy again. Strongly recommend.
google avatar

Hoa H.

Yelp
I can't think of any reason to not give them a 5 star. My only recommendation for this place is their durian crepe cake. In South Bay, there's not a shop that carries durian cake, so we were very happy to find this little gem. We drove here just to get their durian crepe cake and it's totally worth it. The cake was scrumptious.the best part was it came with free fruits and the fruits were fresh and delicious as well. Price: $90, you can earn reward points as well by putting in your phone # Service: 5/5 Tip: Call to order and you can just come and pick up your cake :)
google avatar

Yelp
A little bakery in Chinatown, but it's incredibly clean and all the bread were very high quality. I got multiple pineapple buns, a sausage bun, a black sesame crepe, and much more. They have a lot of unique options you wouldn't find at some other Chinese bakeries either. I was definitely a big fan of the black sesame crepe and their pineapple buns are incredibly soft. If you're around this area I would recommend checking it out.

Yelp
GET THE DURIAN CREPE CAKE. That's all I have to say. I was surprised when I found out that someone actually made durian crepe cakes! I HAD to try! Located on the Broadway side of Chinatown, I found that it was relatively easy to get to. In addition to crepe cakes they also have souffle cakes, a variety of Asian buns and dan tats. So far I've tried: - matcha crepe cake $6.50: the matcha flavor wasn't strong enough for me, and the matcha layer was a little too airy for my liking. But overall, I enjoyed it! - durian crepe cake $6.50: I was actually surprised that this cake did not cost more considering there were real durian pieces in the cake as I saw the usual "strands" when I ate the cake. This is everything a durian cake should be, so fragrant and smooth! - dan tats: solid tart with flakey crust! Overall, if I'm in the area or stopping near by for dim sum I would totally come back :)
google avatar

Yelp
A notch above the other bakeries I've tried in Chinatown. Everything looks fancy and tastes fresh. I was really impressed by all the sweets I tried. The savory pastries were good, but not at the same blow-you-away level as the sweets. Black Sesame Crepe Cake: Probably the best crepe cake I've had in Chinatown. Many others don't taste as fresh. Theirs was soft in the middle with flakey edges, indicating the crepes were likely made earlier that day. And the black sesame cream is such a great flavor. A nice nuttyness to give personality to the thin cream layers. Green Tea Crepe Cake: Same dynamic of flaky crepe and indulgent cream, but lots of matcha power adding a bitter contrast. Perfect for people who often complain desserts are "too sweet". Japanese Cheesecake: It's a good texture like if you mixed cheesecake with gelatin. It's still cheesy, but it's also kinda wobbly. Lighter than more traditional cheesecakes. It's tasty for sure, but I prefer the original style which is denser and tastes creamier. Mango Mousse Cake: Kinda like layers of sponge cake and mango pudding. Doesn't have that same fresh taste that the mango cake at AA Bakery has (since it uses whole mango slices). But still good it's own right. Kinda like if they turned a parfait into a cake. Really creamy and fruity, so that's a plus. Blueberry Mousse Cake: Similar format, but in blueberry flavor. And the mousse actually tasted more authentically fruitier than the mango version. Definitely like this one better. Japanese Sweet Potato Roll: There was a nice swirl throughout of sweet pasty purple goodness. It was like 1/3 sweet potato and 2/3 bread. Goes really good with coffee. Blueberry Cheese Bread: Big surprise, there was a ton of creamy blueberry filling inside. It was like a doughnut, if the doughnut was triple stuffed. Really liked this one. Portuguese Egg Tart: Not quite Golden Gate Bakery egg tart caliber. But the crust was multilayered and very nice flaky. And there was a sweet burnt sugar syrup top which livened it up. Hot Dog Bun: Like a standard hot bun, but with a slight ketchup glaze on top. Sausage Braided Roll: Much more exciting than the hot dog bun because this sausage (i.e. hot dog) was sliced into rounds and had a very small diced cubes. All in a pleasant braided format. Seaweed Pork Bun: I'm normally not a huge fan of "pork floss" (i.e. the dried pork jerky that's really flaky), but it worked here. Not too much in the center, so good ratio to the bread. And the seaweed on top actually added the perfect flavor contrast to give it a little extra tang. Ham & Cheese Bun: In a shape similar to the sausage braid roll, but with folded rounds of ham. Seemed a little less meaty too.

Yelp
Excellent selection. All items prepackaged and in individual cases. Very clean. Couple of options purchased which were delicious. I can see why they have such a good rating on Yelp.

Yelp
At the moment the place is all takeout due to covid protocols. We got there on a Saturday around 3pm so the mango crepe was unavailable. The line moved quick with 2 people ahead. We decided to try this spot for a quick dessert after our late lunch. While I believe everyone should try the slice crepes it just wasn't amazing to us. The sesame flavor ($7.50) was subtle and decent but the texture was a bit chalky. I realized crepe is not something i personally crave but I recommend those to make up there own mind. Also, Cute and practical packaging which includes a tiny fork!

Grant F.

Yelp
I wanted to grab pork buns at another highly rated bakery close by but the line was outrageous so I ended up stumbling into this place instead. It is a small shop lined with cases of different styles of baked breads. I grabbed many different types of individually packaged breads and in the front is a nice selection of cakes so I also got a slice of blueberry cake. Everything was delicious but my favorite was the cake. I regret not getting more types of cake slices. This place is great and no lines at all on a Saturday afternoon. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is one of my mom's favourite bakeries in SF! From pastries to sweet desserts, and even milk tea drinks, they really do it all. I was able to try their Matcha Crepe Cake and their Strawberry Mousse Cakes. I can just say that their packaging is A1! It's so pretty and ensures that the cakes remain instagram-able in transit, and even comes with a cute little fork! For the matcha cake, it's a pretty difficult cake to make because you can't please all the matcha lovers out there, and for me personally I would've preferred a stronger matcha flavor. The Strawberry Mousse cake was sweet and light, and very creamy. If you've ever tried Lady M's crepe cakes, this does not reach that level of yummy. However, it is a good substitute as we wait for another Lady M popup shop to come back to San Francisco.

Yelp
I was in the area and found this bakery on Yelp. Street parking was TOUGH so I had my mom pick up some goodies while I circled around :) Since I couldn't leave the car so I wasn't able to see how everything inside was, but I can tell they are quick in terms of service. By the time I got back around (maybe 5 minutes) my mom had already purchased a big bag of bakery goodies! This was a Sunday afternoon. No line, fast service. Mom said items were a bit pricier than other bakeries she's been to, but the food was good. We tried the hot dog bun in the car. I was hungry and this hit the spot. It's got that sweet bread that I love. At home we had the matcha crepe cake and durian crepe cake. Matcha was good, a bit bitter (not very high quality matcha powder), but the star of the show was the durian crepe cake--so good! Definitely recommend for anyone who likes durian!

Yelp
My favorite is their individually sliced crepe cakes! Oh my gosh, it is light, airy, and the best in the city. I also love that it is not overly sweet, it's perfect. Every time I'm in Chinatown, I always stop in to pick up a black sesame (my favorite), matcha green tea and a durian crepe cake to bring home and share with my family. It's $7.50 a slice, compared to many high end crepe cake shops, it's actually very affordable and really well made. I asked the lady and they said you can order a whole crepe cake in advance.

Yelp
I haven't been to Chinatown in years. My sister and I had a dentist appointment and we were early so we decided to pretend we're tourists and roam around. My family wanted to celebrate my birthday early so we needed a cake and when we saw the beautiful cakes displayed in front of this shop we had to go in. We bought a whole mango cake and O-M-G it's the best tasting cake my family has ever tasted. The fruits were incredibly fresh and we can tell the chocolate they used were not the cheap kind. My sister's boyfriend is extremely picky when it comes to cakes so he usually eats a small slice but when he ate this cake he had to go in for 3 big slices! I hope you guys open more stores around the Bay Area like San Mateo or Burlingame! If you do, I promise you I'll buy cakes only from you guys, lol.
