The Best Restaurants and Food Carts in Portland’s St. Johns Neighborhood | Eater Portland

"This St. Johns Beer Porch cart specializes in the foods of its namesake, including delicately folded momos, the comforting noodle soup thukpa, and the knotty steamed bun known as tingmo. The butter chicken-smothered momos are a particular winner here, though any momo with the house hot sauce is sure to please." - Rebecca Roland

Where to Find Himalayan Food in Portland, Oregon | Eater Portland

"I consider Little Tibet PDX a standout Tibetan cart at the St. Johns Beer Porch; they serve a delicious momo soup (mokthuk) that uses momos in place of noodles, they offer thukpa, and both versions can be made vegetarian." - Nathan Williams

If you want to eat something satisfying and flavorful you have to go! The chili momo plate was over the top delicious. The curry bowl is also mind blowing. The flavor and spice is perfect and cannot be matched! I can't wait to go back.

The owner asked me to tell him what I thought of the spicy chicken wrap but I had to leave for a meeting - the spicy chicken wrap was so delicious! I loved how flavorful the rice was and all the small peppers that were spread throughout. I also found the spice level to be perfect for me, spicy enough to need water but not too spicy your eyes are watering however others might not feel the same. It was also a very large wrap and extremely filling. I’ve been here a couple times and never been disappointed with a meal. If I had anything to complain about I would just say that the rice ratio in the wrap was a little too much but honestly it was so tasty that I don’t think I’d ever really mind.

Google
Definitely the best momo I’ve ever had (and it’s not even close). Chicken momo were very flavorful / filling and the hot sauce… oh my, it’s amazing. The owner was super friendly and food came out quick. I will be back to try much more of the menu soon.

Yelp
I love me some momos!! We usually go to our staple place for momos, but we really wanted to try something different. Butter chicken and chili momos??? Yes, please. We also ordered a spicy pork bowl. The butter chicken was great, but out least favorite out of the three... still delicious and we don't regret getting them. The chili momos were packed full of so much flavor. Yum! Not really any spice to it but that's okay, flavor wins! The spicy pork jowl had a tiny kick at the end. It was very good thought We'll definitely come back and try something more of their momos.

Yelp
It's been so long since I've had such a flavorful soup and especially dumplings. The owner was super friendly. It was a hot day but I enjoyed my soup and would love to come again. I had the vegan soup with vegan dumplings and it was delicious. Also the portion wasn't small even though the price wasn't high - it's pretty rare to find nowadays.

Yelp
Located in a nice food cart pod with nice facilities to enjoy your meal. Delicious food including their noodles and dumplings. The food cart pod has many other options- something for everyone.

Yelp
I've never had Tibetan food before but I will absolutely be back! The chef recommended I order the chili momo and it was delicious.

Yelp
The noodles were ok, but lacked in flavor. There needs to be more of a sauce to them, they seemed very dry, which made them boring. The chili momos, although said to be the most popular from the cart, were not very good. The sauce didn't have much flavor ( a little spice, but that's all) and the dough of the momos was undercooked. We were disappointed, especially because there are such high ratings online and on yelp. Perhaps it was an off day? The gentleman at the cart was so wonderful and friendly though, so he made up for it!

Yelp
We have come back to eat at this place 4 times and all 4 times they have been closed. Now they are on "vacation" until it gets warmer? I don't think these people are serious about this business. We heard a rumor the reason they close so much is that the business is to launder money. Starting to think its true. How can small business owners afford to just close whenever they want so often? I have seen many food carts do this and none of them last.

Yelp
I want to write the review for this food cart. I went to back this food cart three times already. Because, food is pretty good, a Tashi and Dolma ( owners) are very sweet people. I told them some advice for what NOPO people likes. Currently they use plastic bowls and plates. "We like a less plastic waist and more recycling. " So they will use the recycle paper bowls and plate soon. How awesome is that! They really care about our communities. I would recommend 120%!

Yelp
This food cart is instantly one of the best restaurants in St. Johns. We had the curry, the chow mein and the momos - all were delicious and unique in their flavor. The mango lassie was excellent, too! You can tell a lot of TLC goes into this food. Support this place! It's GREAT!

Yelp
Second visit and tried the jhol momo this time (see pic below). The food is healthy as it's not dripping in fat or high in salt. The portions are also great for the price!! Will def visit again!!

Yelp
If y'all want to get a taste of true flavor of Tibetan MoMo, this place is a must. Also, I love his Curries with Tingmo!

Yelp
The Little Tibet food truck is awesome. We were delighted to stumble across it at the food truck pod today. Amazing food (we had the tofu spicy rice bowl, pork spicy rice bowl and beef momo) and such lovely proprietors. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I tried the chicken Momo's on a hot day in July and boy did it hit the spot. They came with a slaw (maybe pickled) and a mild dipping sauce. Everything together was so good! I was also stuck by the proprietor's kindness and generosity, especially when she offered a family a bandaid for their small child.

Yelp
Simple menu , easy to choose . Packaging is really neat. Food is good too. Tried the chowmein and the pork and Tibetan bun, and it's really good . Spicy chicken is also very good. The salad on the side of momo is a nice touch. Definitely worth trying. Last it's very clean especially during covid time. It's safe place to order delicious food.

Yelp
Just opened this week. Food was amazing and the owner/owner's wife were super nice and humble. The cart was spotless. Had the Chicken Curry. The flavors were right on and the chicken was extremely tender. Also had the Chicken Momos. They were like mini Baos and were just as wonderful as the curry. First time eating Himalayan food. Will absolutely going back, as it is just down the street. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Excellent momos and Service! you can tell that these are handmade lots of love and serve steaming hot with wonderful hot sauce on the side. So happy to have in the food pod!
