Little Tokyo Restaurant is in Mt. Lebanon near Pittsburgh, PA. LTR has hibachi, udon and Ramen bowls, sushi and other options. The food was great as was the service. We had steak and shrimp hibachi, yummy roll (shrimp tempura inside with crab), udon bowl and a spicy tuna hand roll. The only complaint is how loud it was inside. At times it was difficult to hear the conversation at our own table. I would return if I'm in the area again.

This is my favorite go-to sushi restaurant—hands down. Both locations are amazing, and I’m fully convinced they can’t be beat. I’ve never had better sushi anywhere I’ve lived or traveled, and to top it off, the customer service is just as outstanding as the food. All the rolls are consistently excellent, but the Anniversary Roll and black marlin are my personal favorites. You have to try the salad—the dressing is famously delicious. The osuimono soup is actually my favorite soup of all time. The broth is so clean, yet somehow packed with flavor—I don’t know how they do it. The shrimp balls are another must-try. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The food is clearly made with love, and even when it’s busy (which it often is), the service is always top-notch. Little Tokyo is simply the best.

Great food and service! Will definitely be coming back. Photos and menu we're takin on 4-18-25.

Google
Giving this place a 4 out of 5 stars because the service could have been better. I honestly think it was just my server who kinda sucked. Everyone else seemed great. I dined in by myself and was sat at the sushi bar which was nice but also a bit annoying cause all the servers would hover over me to get the food. But the sushi was great. I got a spicy tuna roll and the discovery roll.

We wanted to try a local comfort food since staying in the area. We ordered the rock and roll, spicy tuna, philly, salmon roll, tonkatsu and udon. Sushi rolls were good. The tonkatsu was unfortunately dry. They were very busy so initial wait time was about ~35 minutes. The service was very spotty. We ordered, got our food, and were pretty much ignored the entire time except one water refill towards the end.

Google
Such a great neighborhood gem. Always busy, always good. Went there to celebrate my birthday with the family. We enjoyed everything!! Saki martinis are fabulous and the best, freshest, beautiful & tasty sushi around. Our waitress was kind and nice and overall did a great job. It was super busy (Sunday night) so the service was a tad bit slow; but nothing to keep us from returning.

Anytime I come in town, I have dinner here. Nothing is bad here. Great job

Google
Consistently great food. Always good service even towards the later part of the day towards closing. I bring friends here and none of them have ever left disappointed either. 10/10 sushi, gyoza, rice dishes etc. will be back!

Yelp
This place was totally jammed on a Thursday night. We had a party of 12 and the service was terrific. We had to wait a bit longer for our sushi orders but everything came out perfectly. It's very loud, especially if you're seated near the back kitchen area. They restock plates right next to your table on the other side of the wall. We ordered three rolls and some tuna and salmon sashimi. Everything was really fabulous.

Yelp
When my friends and I got there, it was completely packed! Luckily, a bunch of people got up and left so the restaurant was quieter and more pleasant Aunt afterwards. I got the veggie Ramen, with the miso soup starter. The miso soup was so strong and delicious! It's the best me so I've had in a long time. My friend Amy got the grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce. She and Brian split an order of fried rice. Brian got a couple of appetizers. Our server was really helpful and nice. I enjoyed our time there.

Yelp
2nd best sushi in the city for price, taste and size of each roll. I've went to this one and the south side one multiple times. Same ownership and same quality People working are always nice. I never sat down at either one and only had takeout. Albeit it I can confirm the inside is always clean and has people eating there

Yelp
Probably the best of the best for the area. The steak is much choice-every time. Good people and great food! Very clean and great dejections of liquor.

Yelp
Little Tokyo is my go-to sushi spot in Pittsburgh - it has a nice variety of rolls, is consistently good, and has super friendly staff! My favorite roll is the Discovery Roll, though the First Date roll is also a crowd-pleasure. First though, I have to start off with their house salad - there's just something about that delicious ginger dressing over iceberg lettuce that really hits the spot! Though I always get sushi when I'm there, I do appreciate that they have a lot of good non-sushi options on their menu too in case you have a non-sushi fan who wants to dine with you (like my mom, who loves their non-sushi fare) Overall, it's a solid spot that I highly recommend to anybody in the area with a sushi or Japanese craving!

Yelp
The absolute BEST sushi in Pittsburgh and ever in my life! This place is a Mt. Lebanon staple and it is every residents favorite place to stop at when they come back to visit family and friends. The owner is always working and very friendly. The staff has been the same for years and have always been wonderful. The hibachi is incredible and the sushi is so fresh. The fried ice cream is also insanely delicious if you're not full by the end!

Yelp
After hearing rave reviews I finally had a chance to try the sushi at Little Tokyo. We got lucky and snagged the last two seats at the sushi bar. The fish in the case looked very fresh and tasty, and it was fun getting a firsthand view of the chefs whipping up beautiful sushi rolls. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. They have several specialty rolls to choose from which was honestly a hard choice, they all sounded amazing. I ended up going with the first date roll, which had shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. I also ordered an avocado roll which was simple but delicious. This was definitely some of the best sushi I've had in Pittsburgh. My boyfriend ordered a hibachi meal with steak and chicken. He said it was excellent. Our server was very sweet and service was fast. I'm looking forward to dining here again.

Yelp
Dinner was exceptionally delicious this evening . My husband an I split several sushi rolls and an edamame appetizer. The dragon roll never disappoints . Riesling was refreshing and cold. We always have a nice time . God bless

Yelp
Had not visited in about 9 years and now so glad I am back!!! The sushi is AMAZING! Willing to wait when it's busy. No reservations. They also have hibachi and ramen options. Each time I have seen couples and families, there is something for everyone. Tip- they do put lemon on salmon. So if you don't want that tell them ahead of time!

Yelp
| Mt. Lebo - Pittsburgh, PA | Little Tokyo we're a family that loves little Tokyo! They have something for everyone. Hibachi for me, sushi for the rest of the family. That's why we chose to go here for my mamas birthday. Sweet potato sushi is ALWAYS a top choice esp for those who don't like seafood /sushi but wanna fit in I wish more places offered it, so I swipe it up every single time I see it on the menu!! This was the first time I had fried ice cream and it's also wonderful. So i'm a happy clam and this is a #GOUDapproved restaurant from me!! Hibachi Filet Mignon + miso soup $29.95 sweet potato sushi $6 for 6pc i'm not gonna lie I have no idea what rolls are what and I forgot to write them down. fried ice cream $7.95

Yelp
Little Tokyo was an unexpected find. We were passing by and randomly decided to drop in for dinner because it looked interesting. The restaurant gives me the vibe of casual sushi place from the last century (in a good way). Service was super friendly and fast. The food was great value for the price. So much cheaper than the same level of sushi in Pittsburgh. I felt that this was what gave me the biggest impression. Out of the salmon, spicy tuna, and eel roll, i thought the eel was the best. The shrimp tempura smelled so good because we were sitting at the bar and could see them making it, so decided to add it at the end of the meal. Did not disappoint! My only complaint is the dipping sauce was a bit bland. They also had an affordable sake menu.

Lauren O.

Yelp
I have been coming here since the late 1990s and while the inside could use a facelift, the food and service are absolutely wonderful. The restaurant is also always extremely clean. My favorite roll is the Spider roll but you can't go wrong with any of the fresh sushi options.

Yelp
I recently went here last night with my girlfriend and her family. we were visiting from Florida to see her family. we ordered our sushi and food and made sure multiple times that the waitress KNEW that my girlfriend had a severe and deathly shellfish allergy. then when the food came again, the we asked the waitress again and she confirmed and guaranteed that this plate had no shellfish in or near it. after taking a bite out of one of the rolls we found crab to be in it, which could have been ok maybe it was imitation crab and not soaked in crab juice. so the waitress then went to the back grabbed the package was bringing it back to us when she got taken away by another employee to the back. when she finally did emerge from the back kitchen, she came over and said oh I'm sorry there is crab in that roll and it's REAL crab, which is great, but not when you are deathly allergic to shellfish!!! Then we asked for our check so that we could get out of there and she left for another few minutes and came back with a benadryl. which is great but not when we needed an epi pen and to just leave. when we tried to speak to manager in between of her trying to get our bill they simply said, oh are you going to be ok? and we said probably not but they didn't seem to care at all! then they charged us for everything eventhough we barely touched our food as it had happened almost as soon as we finally got the food. that was our last night there and it ruined the whole night and not too mention my girlfriend was throwing up all night and had to use epi pen and those aren't cheap either. so naturally we called after the fact to try and get a refund and all we could get was they would refund us for the one roll that had the crab in it!! I just think this is ridiculous! horribly handled! I have worked in the restaurant industry for twenty years and have never seen any situation remotely near this handled so horribly! I really hope you never go to this place or support a place that would put people's lives In danger and seem to not even care about it! do the right thing and do not go to this place and give them your business!!! they do not deserve it at least until they can figure out how to be decent human beings!!

Yelp
Stoped by for a quick lunch. I ordered the First Date Roll. The shrimp tempura in the roll was still warm nice touch. The spicy tuna had just right amount of spice and tasted great. Service was great not too busy for a Thursday lunch sat right down and was able to order my lunch. Nice restaurant out of my normal area of North Hills but will definitely bring my family for dinner. Heads up no lunch specials so regular price for lunch/dinner.

Yelp
Great for sushi! I recommend the rainbow roll and discovery roll. The Raman was also very good but it's hot!
google avatar

Brianna G.

Yelp
I have dined in and gotten take out multiple times! Sushi is always fresh and never disappoints! Love their fried rice
google avatar

Erin T.

Yelp
Decent food. Weirdly huge sections of the menu are permanently not available. The service and ambiance are just middling.

Julia M.

Yelp
Little Tokyo NEVER disappoints with their sushi and sashimi! The sushi is so fresh and so good. Service is always kind and fun. The atmosphere is chill and happy!

Yelp
I absolutely adore Little Tokyo Bistro in the Southside, so I was excited to finally check out Little Tokyo this weekend. I ordered 2 sushi rolls and chicken gyoza's to-go, and my order was ready quickly (about 15-20 minutes). I went with the cucumber roll, avocado roll, and the shrimp tempura roll. They were all so fresh and so delicious. The chicken gyozas were also delicious! I will be back and look forward to dining in next time. It's a beautiful restaurant and has the same cozy vibe that Little Tokyo Bistro does, except this location is a bit bigger than Southside's!

Yelp
Honestly some of the best sushi I've had in the city. You can't argue with the quality of sushi they offer and you can tell they really care about what they serve. I could eat her once a week and not get sick of it!

Karri M.

Yelp
Food and service is excellent! Udon and ramen bowls are all fantastic! I love The First Date sushi roll as well. It's a favorite. Very consistent and reliable dining experience!

Yelp
The food is great and it's a cute little place but the service is trash. Irene thinks it's appropriate to hit on other ppls girlfriends at the table during service. Just cause we are nice to the help doesn't mean they should get too comfortable. The old man owner just leers at you and never says hello or asks how you are or anything. As a business owner you would think he'd make an effort. Bizarre. If I return here it'll be to go. No thanks.
google avatar

Jen B.

Yelp
Best Sushi in Pittsburgh! They are super nice as well. We stopped by on a Saturday after a dance competition & did not realize we could've made resys since we had 8 ppl. It was busy, but they seated us fairly quick! I highly recommend!!
google avatar

April H.

Yelp
Surprisingly upscale and nice ambience. Good service, clean. My friends and I shared the first date roll, which we enjoyed. I got the tempura udon, which had a little more of a mushroom soup base than I would have liked (I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms), but I still enjoyed it and thought it was tasty and refreshing. The portions were big and I was full after. Parking was easy at the garage across the street, and it cost less than $2 for a couple hour, not bad! I wouldn't come all the way out to Mount Lebanon again for this, but I might try the South Side location.
google avatar

Daniel R.

Yelp
You really can't get better than this. The best sushi in Pittsburgh and unparalleled quality in the entire area! Constantly delicious and never less than perfect. A wonderful dine-in or take-out experience
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
Best sushi in the south hills! Impeccable quality and service. The atmosphere is urban and vibey with colored lights everywhere. Always busy. Get there early! The Anniversary Roll and Discovery Rolls are exceptional!
google avatar

Yelp
Sushi is SO worth it! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quality sushi restaurant
google avatar

Yelp
absolutely beat miso soup ive ever had, my waitress was luterally the kindest person ever and was really quick, and it was the best resemplence of japanese culture in pittsburgh in my opinion, i would have shown the food but i ate it all.
google avatar

Otto M.

Yelp
I love Little Tokyo! I recommend the miso soup it was straight bussin. A little pricey but you get your moneys worth with taste.
google avatar

Claudia E.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here forever after having driven by it a billion times and having several friends say how good it is. They weren't kidding, I had a great lunch here today. I couldn't find photos of the menu with descriptions online, so I made sure to take some. I hope these are helpful to someone! I ordered the takosu octopus salad, the Rock and Roll roll, and a tuna and avocado roll. Everything was really tasty. A little pricey, but it's sushi and I was treating myself. The wasabi was super strong so be careful with how much you use! The waitress was very sweet and attentive. She brought me a warm towel when I came in. For those of you as ignorant as I was before looking it up, it's to wipe your hands with, but not your face. It was a really nice touch! I'm looking forward to going back!
google avatar

Yelp
Little Tokyo has some of the freshest sushi around.. I always make sure to get the discovery roll with Jalapeños. The service is always kind, courteous and efficient! Great family owned business that I love supporting!
google avatar

Molly H.

Yelp
Little Tokyo is a solid Japanese spot in a trendy area of Pittsburgh. People definitely love it here as it was packed with people and they had tons of carry out orders. My aunt and uncle raved about it, so 4 of us came in on a Friday to have dinner. I got the yakimeshi which was very tasty (like a Thai fried rice with shrimp) and not greasy. We also got the shrimp dumplings which were also tasty! The only thing I didn't care for was the dressing on the salad. I've had Japanese food and specifically this same salad with similar dressing before but something about their dressing was different. It was almost bitter, like too much vinegar. It kind of ruined it for me. My husband got the yakiniku which he really liked. Apparently they have really tasty sushi too, but that'll be next time!
google avatar

Alistair C.

Yelp
One of the best if not the best sushi places in Pittsburgh. Great atmosphere and the owner is one of the nicest I've experienced. Very engaged and insured quality.
google avatar

Ralph H.

Yelp
What a fabulous place in the mean streets of Mt. Lebo hidden amongst the various shopping district stores & restaurants. The hibachi chef is visible from your seat and the smells are fantastic as is the food. The calamari appetizer was delicious hidden in sautéed red peppers. The sushi is so fresh and tickles your taste buds to full tastes. The hibachi chicken & shrimp was perfect as was the filet. Then to finish off with a giant fried ice cream that they give a huge knife to cut it with.
google avatar

Jacki B.

Yelp
Little Tokyo is the spot for sushi in the South Hills! It looks quite small from the outside, but they actually have two rooms of seating once you walk in. We were seated promptly in the side room, where we got to watch numerous chefs create their sushi masterpieces right next to us! The restaurant was fairly crowded, but we received our food very quickly, and the server was very friendly. We love sushi, and Little Tokyo had some of the best sushi we've ever had! Their sushi menu is extensive and ranges from basic rolls to more elaborate fancy ones. The entire time we were there, they were busy bagging takeout orders, too, so that just shows the popularity and quality of their food.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
The food was fabulous! Great spot for well priced sushi. Not too cheap, not too expensive!

Brian F.

Yelp
Best sushi in the South Hills ! The Hibachi is really good too but the Sushi is the bomb.
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Yucky, yuck, yuck. The first time I came here, was better than my experience yesterday. The sushi here is good, there is no doubt about that. However, everything else is very dry, bland, and lacks flavor. The salmon we had last night was some of the worst I have ever had. Extremely fishy taste, and hard to chew because it was so dry.
google avatar

Vin D.

Yelp
I came here with my friend as a result of many of the other restaurants closing earlier. The inside seemed spacious and lively. I order the red snapper soup, and the octopus, scallop, and some other sushi. The red snapper soup was easily the best Japanese style starter soup I've had. The mushrooms broth and lemon zest flavors and how they contrasted each other made a lively hit on your palette. The scallop sushi was very very good too. The star of the night however was our server. He was exceptionally nice and pleasant which was evident from his sincere humble smile and his body language. He clearly cared about our experience. He was also very helpful in helping my friend decide what she wanted. Upon requesting a to go box, he not only provided one, but he using chopsticks placed my remaining sushi in the box. Most places they just give you a box. Also right at the last minute he came back to refill my friends water. For me, as far as the food went it was all about that red snapper soup. I'm not much of a sushi person. For my friend who is and who's eaten it's plenty of times before, she said it's close to the best she's ever had. For both of us, it was about our server, who was not only genuine but was exceptional in paying attention to the details and doing everything he could to make our experience a pleasant one.

Grace K.

Yelp
I don't even want to tell you how good this place is. As a sushi fanatic, I can honestly say that Little Tokyo has the best sushi I've ever had. I order take out from here probably once a week and have no regrets. Most recently, my family and I got a table and not takeout and here is a picture. You cannot go wrong with any roll. Simply spectacular. I try different sushi places all the time, and keep coming back to little Tokyo.
google avatar

Ahmed A.

Yelp
I used to love this place... I was a little disappointed last time Sushi was great as usual but not the hibachi or miso soup!
google avatar

Stephanie A.

Yelp
Ordered takeout for the first time and it was delicious! Firstly ordering via phone was a breeze the employee was super friendly and helpful. Wait time for takeout was good about 25-30mins. The portions were a very good in size! We ordered hibachi entree's. I had chicken with extra veggies and fried rice. Everything was great and the takeout was separated in the container which was much appreciated. My fiancé had the filet and chicken hibachi meal. He said his filet was prepared perfect and was very flavorful. I would 10/10 recommend the hibachi entrees. Next on the list is sushi since most reviews rave about it!
google avatar

Ann B.

Yelp
Little Tokyo has rightfully stood the rest of time in Mount Lebanon. The service is attentive and the food is delicious. The restaurant is always clean and the decor is nice.
google avatar

Laura T.

Yelp
I ordered the tempura udon and the Ramen. The udon noodles were great but the broth was lacking in flavor and there were tons of mushrooms in the broth as well. Had I known there were so many I definitely wouldn't have ordered. There was also no egg which is supposed to be included, and only 2 pieces of tempura shrimp. For an $18 dish I expected more protein. The Ramen was better, but still had a ton of mushrooms. The flavor of the broth was better and definitely spicy as advertised.
google avatar

Otto G.

Yelp
Mehhh. Not sure how this place is rated as highly as it. Can't be for the sushi. It was fresh enough but bland. And both of the two specialty rolls I had did not stay together. Will look elsewhere next time I'm in the area.

Mary Beth R.

Yelp
I dined here solo at the sushi bar and it was excellent. They have great specialty rolls and the typical sushi favorites. The interior is nice and the service was great too.

Mark H.

Yelp
This is my favorite local restaurant for sushi! The staff there is so amazingly my and the best part of my meal is the free salad with my three rolls that it order. The restaurant is so clean and well light. Keep up the great sushi. Your sushi making staff is amazing and talented.
google avatar

Joe F.

Yelp
The best sushi I have ever eaten. The service is great and the servers are all beautiful. You can always find a local celebrity there.

Yelp
This was where my husband and I went on our first date and our 10 year dating anniversary, so when I say Little Tokyo is close to my heart, it really is. A place where you're greeted with a smile and the food is always fresh and delicious. Little Tokyo is my go to spot for sushi. For our 10 year dating anniversary, my husband and I decided to make our first visit with our one year old daughter. Being a pandemic baby, she hasn't had the restaurant exposure other might have at her age. So this was a test for everyone. We ordered our sushi, including the First Date Roll, which we actually ate on our first date. The crunchy tempura shrimp topped with salmon gives you a lovely combination of raw and cooked sushi. For my daughter, chicken yakitori a veggie pouch and of course cookies (if all else failed). I wasn't sure how she'd do with the new flavors, but she LOVED it! She ate every bite! I was so impressed. I also want to say the staff were wonderful with my daughter too. They were friendly, brought over a highchair, and kept checking in. Yep, they're awesome. Little Tokyo will continue to be a go-to date night dinner for us, but now it can be a family meal night too. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it.
