Little Tokyo Sushi

Google
We order the “I love you” platter at least once a week. It’s so good. However sometimes the tuna can be a fishy or the avocado is overripe. But most of the time it’s good. I just wish that it would be 100% of the time :) Great sushi overall

Google
Absolutely great takeout sushi spot. Everything was very fresh. It's a quick pickup as well, perfect if you want to eat sushi without waiting or breaking the bank. Will be back!

Google
Great quality sushi & such kind customer service!

Ken M.

Google
Restaurant quality at near supermarket prices. Fish slices are generous - not skimpy like most take out sushi locations. And, the best Spicy Tuna you've ever tasted.

J. Ciera T.

Google
Not sure why this place doesn't have more reviews - they are AWESOME. Picked up lunch for the office today, everything was packaged well and ready for us. And the sushi is delicious!!! SO Fresh and yummy, definitely worth more than the price! So hard to find good sushi - let alone inexpensive sushi! Pleasantly surprised at the quality. Plus, parking is validated!

Google
Do not be fooled by the photo, the unagi was so thin I wasn't sure what I was eating, the photo only looked nice after they filled the 10% surface of the bowl with these thinnest unagi pieces. The bottom 90% of the bowl was completely rice, I sure feel tricked... way to go, you guys. And definitely not the freshest seafood I've eaten so far, better luck buying bento or box sets from a local JP market instead, to be quite honest.

Catherine K.

Google
restaurant quality at a grocery store price. Perfect if you just want simple sushi, no fuss. They even give out miso soup with each box

Lyss

Google
Delicious freshly prepared bento boxes in a self-serve cooler. This is a shop inside a large grocery store. Park in the parking structure - the sushi shop validates parking with purchase.

Yelp
Great food. Great service I can't hold myself give more tips. And I will def come back each time I back LA

Yelp
This sushi area is within quite a large Japanese grocery store on the ground floor of a three-story mall very close to Little Tokyo. You have to buy the sushi separately from the other items you buy in the grocery store. I got my two favorite types of sushi...futomaki and inari. The inari was pretty pricey from another Japanese chain grocery store I usually go to. It was pretty good.

Yelp
This is an in the store little joint. It's good for lunch. A bit better than than Ralph's sushi.

Yelp
Salmon bowl 4/5 - this is decent for the price however there is A LOT of rice. The salmon is fresh but it is all mashed up. Wish it was actual pieces of salmon. Dragon roll 5/5 - this is what you would expect of a dragon roll. Fresh fish and nothing special. We ordered through Uber eats and it came very quickly.m bc everything is pre prepped.

Yelp
I love this spot when I'm in a rush and/or don't feel like sitting in a restaurant and they give a complimentary miso soup too.

Yelp
Pricing and quality : 5/5 The quality of the fish is better than many sit-down restaurants...and cheaper! Parking : 5/5 free with validation Location : inside the grocery store, far left between bakery and poke. Better quality of fish than the poke place. Hidden gem! This place has been good every time I've tried it! Because the fish is raw, quality can't be questioned and this place did not disappoint! I admit I was bias against pre-made sushi ever since working at high-end sushi restaurants in my 20s. But I was hungry and it looked good so I tried it...and again...and... I got the combination nigiri this time and my favorite salmon was so buttery and luxurious, melted in my mouth. It came with free miso soup. What a perfect spot for lunch, especially if you're in a rush. It's easier and faster than getting chick-fil-a (maybe cheaper too) and healthier.

Yelp
It's been so long since I've had sushi and I don't know if it's because I was really hungry or cuz it's been so long, but this sushi was pretty tasty! I ordered both the eel avocado roll for $8.25 and spicy grilled salmon roll for $8.45 and it's pretty filling. Personally, I preferred the eel over the salmon since the salmon was a tad bit dry, but overall, not bad! It also comes with a small miso soup! It's conveniently located in the Little Tokyo Market Place, so there was plenty of free parking in the lot. The customer service was a bit rough and ready and their card reader could not read one of my cards, so not sure what's going on there. I bought stuff at the market and the card was fine, so I think it is very likely that it is the machine that has some kinks. In any case, I would recommend it for a fast and convenient meal! It reminds me of when I was in Hawaii and there was so many accessible sushi on the go. So I'm glad we have this one here in Little Tokyo!

Yelp
This sushi grab-n-go is located inside the supermarket in the Little Tokyo Plaza (although I still refer to it as the Yaohan Plaza b/c that's how I first ever known it to be but I digress). This little spot operates separately from the market and you pay there vs. at the supermarket's checkout lanes. For sushi that's pre-made, they're one of the best quality and have a decent variety to pick from. Also, prices are super reasonable for what you get. When you're in the Little Tokyo area and craving some sushi but don't feel like a sit down place, give this place a try because it's legit!
google avatar

Justin Y.

Yelp
The quality of the sushi is not bad for being pre-made I always enjoy this quick sushi to-go when im in the area Located inside Little Tokyo Market Free Parking with Validation - $5 minimum purchase
google avatar

Linda V.

Yelp
Great sushi selections! I've been coming here for years. I love it that I always get miso soup with every entree! And you don't have to wait long for special orders!
google avatar

Arev L.

Yelp
I have been coming to this little place for decades. The grandpa that used to work here always gave me little free stuff. The sushi are always fresh and delicious. The price is good too. ( I have been eating here when the spicy tuna bowl was less than $5, now is $ 14 )Come early to get best choices. Unfortunately, I don't live close anymore and every time I get there around 1pm... less selections are available. Yesterday I went there to get my usual meals, no more free miso soup. Its $1 for each.

Yelp
Just FYI- located inside Little Tokyo Market! Remember to get your parking ticket validated!! Ordered the Family Sushi tray on a Saturday for pick up on Sunday afternoon. If you tell them the time you need it, it will be ready. I wish I took a photo of the tray because it looked beautiful! Each piece of seafood was careful wrapped over a rounded edge rectangular piece of rice. The pieces of fish were thin but all looked so consistent and the taste was yummy. No complaints from family. Just a tip- look at the online menu and write down the ones you like. Then call and ask for pricing. They don't have prices online so if you're on a budget, I feel that's the best way to decide on what to order!
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty decent sushi but not standout. Very reasonable prices though and excellent delivery. Great for a quick lunch. Little Tokyo Sushi combo was great!
google avatar

Julio G.

Yelp
Prices are fair, quality is good. Selection is good. Usually come for the items they have on display. But recently got a few party platters for a couple of occasions, people that tried the sushi were content.
google avatar

Ray L.

Yelp
Great fresh sushi. Still fresh at the end of the day and marked down. Fun grocery store. Fresh seafood. Good prices. Give it a try.
google avatar

Kate S.

Yelp
Idk why I ordered this.. if I knew it was from the grocery store I wouldn't have.. fish was not fresh and cut was not professional. Never again.
google avatar

Sophie L.

Yelp
I've been going here for years and I've always loved it! The staff have always been friendly, and their complimentary miso soup is wonderful.
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
Great for grab and go lunch when I'm craving a quick sushi fix. Bonus points for complimentary miso soup!
google avatar

Coree T.

Yelp
Pictures looked great on doordash so I decided to give it a shot. Spider roll was soggy and the Toro salmon combo sushi was fishy :(. The salmon was okay, but that was about it. I'd skip this place and try a different place. Maybe it's different if you actually go here, but don't recommend ordering delivery. I didn't know but the sushi is prepackaged so who knows how old the sushi I got was
google avatar

Iszak V.

Yelp
Came here with my hunny to try some sushi. Was not disappointed. A bit busy for valentines but definitely worth it. Little Tokyo sushi combo -Variety of sushi. This plate was perfect for two. A good amount of ginger & wasabi on the side. Grilled spicy salmon -Decent grilled salmon. Good flavor & good amount of rolls for two.
google avatar

Tynisha M.

Yelp
I loved this little hidden gem. The food was authentic and delicious. It was hard to find and I was incredibly skeptical when I first mapped it out. I'm glad I took a chance and went anyways! I would go again (:
google avatar

Cynthia d.

Yelp
I placed my first and last order today. The sushi is pre-made. Eel was cold (refrigerated). Avocado going brown. They did not read my note to provide ponzu sauce instead of eel sauce as they do not have have that as an option. I asked for them to contact me should it not be available; they did not. The also did not provide any napkins or chopsticks. Who eats sushi without chopsticks?!?! Apparently me.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious sushi, convenient sushi, freshly made sushi all Located at a market. And they have delivery. How convenient! Been going there for a long time. Really good! Ordered delivery last week. Quick and convenient
google avatar

Tia N.

Yelp
I've lived in the area for the last 15+ years and I have never considered market sushi. This place really is amazing!! (as mentioned in many of the other reviews). I bought one of the more the expensive items they have to offer, the Deluxe Matsu Sushi Combination for $15.95. Eating the sushi took me back to my trip earlier this year in April to Japan for the Cherry Blossoms season and buying lunch from the Family Marts sprinkle around the districts as we jetted to our next destination. The fish was very fresh, the sushi rice was the perfect amount of al dente and everything was gone before I knew it! I'd come back in a heartbeat
google avatar

Lee L.

Yelp
quick and on the go sushi. the quality is pretty good and i always pick it up every time i'm at the market. they also give complimentary soup every time!! highly reccommend they have a large selection

Soyoung S.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best 'market' sushi you'll ever have! I think it tastes better than many other sit-down sushi spots, too. I work close by and it's definitely a go-to stop for me as well as my coworkers! Plus, you can order in advance for catering!
google avatar

Richard O.

Yelp
Typically, my favorite supermarket sushi comes from either Marukai or Mitsuwa. However, lately the selection and quality have been pretty poor at both supermarkets. I thought it might be the pandemic ruining the variety/caliber of sushi. However, I bought Gelson's sushi in La Canada, and it was pretty good, but overpriced. I like Whole Foods Sushi too, but like Gelson's, it cost too much for what it was. So I googled the best supermarket sushi in Los Angeles, and this place popped up. My curiousity overwhelmed me, and I decided to come here. Little Tokyo Sushi is located in Little Tokyo Market, and it's run by an adorable Korean old lady. I asked her should I pay at the cash register? And she said, 'No, pay here.' I'm assuming her business is a seperate entity from the market. I told her that I found her business online, and she should claim this business on yelp. She smiled, and said, 'That's nice...That's ok.' I'm giving her 5 stars because this is the best supermarket sushi I ever had. Please support this business.

Yelp
I ordered from here without doing research, the pictures looked great and well, no regrats (as the kids say)!!! This shop is INSIDE A SMALL MARKET, they validate parking. Its freshly packaged sushi to make it quick & convenient. I really enjoy this concept. I know the fact that its pre-packaged can be a turn-off but it is in fact surprisingly fresh! You truly get ur bang for your buck. I have the spicy tuna bowl as my usual now.
google avatar

Christine Q L.

Yelp
$5.75 for 16 pieces of sushi AND miso soup! nice service from lady. soup is good, salmon melts in your mouth. buttery, very good deal for togo sushi. they also cater, big portions for only $29. I will be coming back here soon!
google avatar

Jaimie H.

Yelp
I don't normally write reviews but I had to for this place. The prices are relatively reasonable considering it's a small hole in the wall place in a korean market. Time and time again I will find myself wanting to buy more sushi from them. What drew me in are the freshness and large portions of their sushi. They look (and taste) very clean and very fresh with no fishy taste to them. I couldn't wait to go home and eat them sometimes and would park at a nearby park down the street on Alameda and College to devour them. During lunch hours, if you buy straight from the store (not pickup from an app), you will get free miso soup. As for their menu item, I recommend toro salmon combo.

Carol C.

Yelp
Great food & excellent service. Employees go above and beyond! Must try spider roll!!!
google avatar

Valeria C.

Yelp
Amazing but they do run out fast so. Buy some while their there. We ordered 2 party trays
google avatar

Ju B.

Yelp
No matter its normal days or do during COVID, this place has the best quantity and quality of the price!!
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
This place is a true hidden gem, literally hidden! Thanks to the Yelp spinning ball I barely found this place behind the bakery. This place is literally inside the market, not in the market food court. I love how affordable yet fresh the sushi is, I got the 10 pc salmon sushi and california roll for about $13, how awesome is that?!?!?!?!??! The salmon was definitely FRESH and delicious. The fish was not as fatty, no fishy smell and had a vibrant color. They accept credit cards and you get miso soup for every box you buy. I can't wait to come back and try the other sushi boxes!
google avatar

Russ C.

Yelp
Ditto to Chanel C's review. I pop in here quite often for a bento box and never been steered wrong. Never a line like sushi restaurants nearby for lunch. Come before noon for largest variety. Comes with optional miso soup if you like. From $5 - $10. Just hits the spot for them busy or quiet days. Inside the Little Tokyo Marketplace. You can grab some fruits and veggies or do most of your shopping here at the same time. They Validate for the parking also. Another lunchtime option in Downtown.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a low-key little spot to get sushi in Little Tokyo. It's out of the fray a bit hidden away in a the Little Tokyo Market Place market right next to Bliss Bakery. It's been here awhile and the quality has been good ever since I started coming here. They have a few different variety boxes of their sushi that range in different prices. They have a 6, 8, 9 and some over 10. I got 2 of the $8 and $6 boxes and it filled me up perfectly! It also came with a miso soup. The sushi is very reasonably priced, and the quality matches the pricing. It's not elite quality but obviously you aren't expecting Nobu quality sushi from a little cheap spot in a market! Give this a try the next time you are in the area!
google avatar

Lisa T.

Yelp
I ended up finding this place when I was shopping for some seaweed at the market. They had a whole fridge of assorted sushi and rolls. I been cravings some California rolls for a while now and thought I'll try it out. I was in a rush, so it was something good that I can just grab and go and wasn't so greasy. I got 8 big California rolls for $4.75. The price wasn't too bad and it tasted good. Everything tasted really fresh. I picked out what I wanted and went to pay. The cashier was super friendly. She asked if I wanted miso soup. I asked if I needed to pay for it, but she said its free. Awesome, rolls and miso soup. The miso soup was ok, but it was free so can't say much. A little bit more on the salty side. The girl also asked if I needed validation too. I was like wow, this place just keep on giving. So, I ended up getting some yummy rolls, miso soup, and validation, I was one happy camper. I will be back and maybe try out some other things they have.

Yelp
I had been eying this lovely little sushi stop for awhile since it's tucked away right next to my favorite bakery in Little Tokyo Marketplace. I finally tried their sushi a few weeks ago and was very happy I did! They have a wide array of sushi and rolls from cucumber makimono, to assorted nigiri, to chirashi bowls, and more. So far I've had both their salmon nigiri and cucumber makimono roll. Both tasted fresh and delicious despite their wonderfully low pricing (although I personally prefer my nigiri with a little less rice). Each sushi container comes with an appropriate serving of soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger. You can also buy sides of eel sauce and spicy mayo. They also offer complimentary miso soup at checkout. As for location, if you walk in the main entrance of the actual Little Tokyo Marketplace and head to the back of the store where they have hot, freshly made food, you won't miss it along with the bakery and restaurant. The people working there are all really kind and are a pleasure to buy from. This is definitely one of my go-to's to get a quick, cheap sushi fix in Little Tokyo.
google avatar

Kiara G.

Yelp
I'm a little upset. I asked for no spicy mayo on my roll and they put it anyways. But anyways, their sushi is always very good here! Always tastes fresh.
google avatar

Cindy G.

Yelp
this is like my go to lunch spot on work days! they have cheap yummy sushi, it's addicting! I come here once maybe even twice a week! the girls and ladies who work here are really nice and they VALIDATE! I'm a sucker for places with free parking! I've taken a bunch of friends and co-workers here and they all enjoyed it! everyone's apprehensive at first and then they are really surprised at the quality of sushi for the extremely reasonable price! I really want to order their huge trays of sushi one day. yummmm!
google avatar

Romwell Y.

Yelp
I ordered salmon unagi nigiri, little Tokyo sushi combo, shocado, unagi futomaki and Inari, and spider roll. The delivery was quick as intended! My co-workers enjoyed their food. Fresh and quick! The food was excellent. Would order again if I save more money.
google avatar

Aubrey W.

Yelp
Great little pick up and go. Prices are very reasonable and the sushi was good! Located within the Little Tokyo Market. Many different options and they refill the lunch supply often, so it's fresh!

Thalia S.

Yelp
Like that the sushi is already made, you just select pay and go! Nice if you're a person that doesn't have a lot of time but still want sushi.
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
The sushi was delectable, very fresh and tasty. They also provide free miso with your purchase. The miso was some of, if not the best miso I have ever had. I will be recommending this restaurant to my friends.
google avatar

Matthew T.

Yelp
Cheappppp sushi that even comes with miso soup. Our sushi plates were only $6.25 each and you get about 6 nigiri pieces and 8 small roll pieces. 4 of them tuna and 4 of them cucumber (bummer). Still, that's the best deal I've come across. The sushi quality is even comparable to Japanese markets like Marukai, Nijiya, and Mitsuwa. The only knock would be the tuna quality and the ginger slices were a bit weird. Other than that, a good place to get the most bang for your buck. Of all the places, good cheap sushi is in the Korean Woori market. Go figure!
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
Wow what a hidden gem really good quality sushi at such a great price it's located right inside the Tokyo marketplace it's actually better than some of the surrounding restaurants and I've gone to many of them
google avatar

Libby R.

Yelp
I am a sushiholic. Now, if I was a big balla shot calla, that would be an addiction that I could have without much concern. However, being that my salary is that of a public servant...I got issues. Thanks to Little Tokyo Sushi, I can get my fix and still afford to pay my rent. Located in the Japanese Market (and opened at 8am) Little Tokyo Sushi is my go to spot at least once a week to grab some take out sushi to brighten up my day. My favorite - the salmon bowl, which has copped up salmon over sushi rice - is only available in the earlier hours and pairs great with some Korean nori as a great meal. Don't worry though, all the choices are great and all come with a small miso soup, kept hot in a rice cooker. This is the best spot for me when I'm in a rush but still want a healthy hit of raw goodness.

Ami K.

Yelp
We often cater for little gatherings we have. Fish is always fresh and they are always quick with their service. We would definitely recommend this place for any gatherings and the price is very reasonable.
google avatar

Elysse T.

Yelp
This review is wayyyyyyy overdue. I come here probably once a week with my coworker and I'm obsessed. Located INSIDE Woori Market next to the bakery. Grab your sushi and snag a table at the food court and boom. Perfect, affordable lunch in Little Tokyo. They offer a variety of sushi... +spicy tuna bowls +chirashis +nigiri combos +nigiri + hand roll combos +mini salmon/tuna sushi rolls +specialty rolls +eel rice place + nigiri combo It always takes me at least 5 minutes to decide what I want that day because there's so much to choose from. I love that they offer such a variety so I can eat here once a week without getting sick of it. All ranging from $4 - $12. The quality of the fish and rice is far from the typical market sushi. I'm impressed. Ooo and they give you free miso soup!
