London’s Best Restaurant and Food Pop Ups and Residencies for 2023 | Eater London

"Charlene Liu and Liu Qian specialise in bowls of xiǎomiàn in broths heavy with Sichuan peppercorn, garlic, soy, sesame paste, ginger, and a signature chilli oil. Minced pork, yellow peas, and water spinach are typical toppings, with the dish traditionally eaten for breakfast in Chongqing; glass noodles made from sweet potato starch are also available for a slippy, chewier textural alternative." - James Hansen

🍜 Spicy Pork Trotter Noodles (New on the Menu!) Once a hidden gem, now finally taking center stage! The pork trotters are braised until tender and flavorful—so soft they jiggle with a poke and fall off the bone with a bite. Packed with collagen goodness! 🍲 Pea & Minced Pork Noodles (A Classic Returns) The signature dish of Liu Xiaomian—creamy peas paired with rich minced pork sauce. Every bite feels like these noodles have soul! Add chili for an extra kick. You’ll want to quietly nod in satisfaction for a full three minutes afterward.

Nice food and great value. I’d recommend getting the mild spiciness as it was still quite hot (they have other 2 layers up). We shared a few dishes but my favourites were the cold summer noodles and the ones with minced pork and chickpeas. Service OK-ish as they forgot to ask for dessert and then when they brought it they hadn’t fully cleaned our table. Nothing major of course and still an enjoyable dinner

Such a great spot in central London — especially if you work or shop around Oxford/Regent Street! Liu Xiaomian in Kingly Court is my go-to when I’m craving proper Chongqing noodles. They’ve got a solid £18 lunch deal (starter, main, and drink), and it’s honestly great value for the area. I got the signature bowl with peas — super creamy and nostalgic — and the red oil wontons were also amazing. Don’t skip the cold sweet rice balls — perfect way to cool down after the spice! The place gets pretty busy during lunch, so I’d recommend booking ahead. Bonus: their little tote bags are super cute too! Highly recommend bringing a friend or colleague who likes spicy food — it’s a fun way to share a real taste of China 🇨🇳

sweet potato noodles are so perfect!!! i love the gelatinous and juicy (???) texture .. i heard that the extra hot is just not that hot.. or is at least manageable.. i had the mild and it was great!! would 100% return

It was a perfect experience. The environment was great and sitting by the window was very comfortable. All the noodles were delicious. I especially liked the pig's trotter noodles and the wontons. Eating cold noodles in summer is also very refreshing.

I ordered takeaway. And after one hour in tube, they are still hot and power flavoured! The glassnoodle is with a lot soup even after long commute. The wheat beef noodle has less soup but the flavours are still there after I stir them around and around. Also the aubergine salad taste very good with sesame sauce.

Absolutely loved it and it exceeded my expectations despite hearing it was the best noodles in London. I ordered the vegan ones with extra chickpeas in their spiciest broth and it was stunning: delicious, numbing and addictive. You get 3 spice levels so don’t worry if you don’t like spicy, they will not make it spicy. You also choose between wheat and glass-noodles. We figured only later that the noodles come fairly plain so it would make most sense to add some toppings to your dish. I enjoyed my dish so much, I re-ordered one and enjoyed it just as much. Having said this, that’s my only criticism; the portions are a bit small; I’d suggest to them to have two sizes. Service was brilliant too; staff were so friendly and always a smile on their face. Interestingly they make you pay when you order rather than at the end. Not sure how I feel about being charged service charge before getting the service but can’t complain, they were brilliant.

I ordered a portion of dumpling and a jelly dessert, they are very authentic. The environment is nice. Staff is helpful. It would be even better if the portion is bigger!
