The Best Restaurants in Potrero Hill | Eater SF

"The fish at this reasonably priced Japanese restaurant is flown in three times a week from Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo, the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world. That means you can be assured that what you’re putting in your mouth is always incredibly fresh and of the highest quality. There’s also a worthwhile happy hour from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday." - Dianne de Guzman

Excellent spot. Super fresh rolls, love the selection of sake by the glass or the 3-cup tasting special. Crab Napoleon was like a mini sushi birthday cake! Will be back.

Been wanting to try this place for awhile since it was recommended to me, but it is always packed in there. Finally I got to give it a shot, the restaurant is pretty compact with a modern ambiance. Service and food were great which I left super satisfied. Definitely will be back!

Google
Its supposed to be raw but probably not the chicken. Their website ordering system is through DoorDash so beware - you’ll have to deal with DoorDash and not the restaurant (they’ll offload you to DoorDash).

Excellent Dragon Roll and tea just wished the tea had an option of sugar or honey. Wonderful customer service! Our waitress was fabulous!! She went above and beyond. The other sushi (either California Roll or Crunchy Roll) and the veggies in the tempura were just okay. The shrimp tempura was so good though!

Went here with my hubby since it was a beautiful day and we were suddenly craving for sushi. Tried this and loved it! The food was delicious and the service was very nice. Came in with hungry stomachs and left with very happy and full ones! Will definitely recommend and be back! Here were some of the things we had!

Google
First timers today with the GF. We were the first to get in the door (they opened at 5) and to our surprise they were empty with just us until 5:30. Which was shocking as they have awesome fresh food and their happy hour is incredibly frugal for SF standards. I can’t wait to come back and try more of their wide ranging menu. We simply didn’t have the capacity to order more food. If you’ve never been here, come for the happy hour and immerse yourself. Will be back soon! If you don’t believe me come check it out!

Really enjoyed the chirashi and the omakase box special. Fish was very fresh and the omakase was very unique. We enjoyed all of it very much. The staff was nice despite an initial period of confusion about how long the wait was or whether we could even get a table. But once we were seated the staff were great. Atmosphere is cute. Looks somewhat updated, not a huge fan of loud music in any restaurant. So if you're looking for a quiet dinner out then you might want to go elsewhere, but the food alone is worth it. We were curious about the noodle soups, and I like to go back for that. Even though this is a sushi place, the soups that other people ordered looked promising.

After picking up my auntie at the airport she was hungry so, my son searched for a sushi place, this sushi bar had very good reviews and it didn't disappointed. We tried several rolls and we liked them, the service was excellent. Would definitely come back on another visit to Sn. Fco.

Yelp
Came here exclusively for their happy hour specials from 5-6:30 PM and had an amazing experience overall. I was seated immediately at the bar, though it felt a bit awkward at first since the sushi chefs didn't acknowledge me at all until I was leaving. That said, the food more than made up for it, so I didn't mind too much. I ordered down the happy hour menu and thoroughly enjoyed every dish. The flavors were simple yet delicious, with excellent prices and satisfying portion sizes. The chicken karaage was lightly battered and perfectly cooked--none of the pieces were dry. The dragon roll was tasty and filling, and the mix tempura was incredibly generous for the price. Pairing everything with a large house hot sake really hit the spot. The restaurant itself is cozy, with a relaxed vibe and music that fits the atmosphere well. There's plenty of free street parking nearby, which is a huge plus. I also noticed nightly specials on the wall that looked intriguing, and based on photos from other diners, they're worth exploring. Next time, I'll definitely try their udon and specialty items of the night. Although the service started off slow, it improved over time with a very kind and attentive lady who took care of me throughout the meal. Even as a solo diner, I felt comfortable and enjoyed myself. Live Sushi Bar has incredible happy hour offerings, and I can't wait to return.

Yelp
Was in the city and craving sushi, so I definitely had to stop here. Scallop uni (5/5): I loved the balance of the creamy ini and the lean scallop Omakase tasting box (5/5): Can't decide what to get? Definitely get this!

Yelp
Came here for Happy Hour on a Tuesday night with 2 friends. We were seated immediately, but got busier as the night went on. We ordered a wide variety of items from their Happy Hour menu, and we were pleased with everything that we had: Rainbow Roll (5/5): My personal favorite thing that we ordered, best bang for your buck on the HH menu Dragon Roll (4/5): Solid, nothing special Rock N' Roll (3/5): Mainly ordered because it was cheap, but again nothing special Salmon Sashimi (4/5): Appreciated the large portions Overall, a very solid spot in SF. Can't really go wrong with it. Great vibes inside and fast service. Try it out!

Yelp
Live sushi bar is a great lowkey sushi place in Potrero. Their prices have gone up over time but it's still high quality, fresh fish and tasty rolls great for sharing with a group or even alone. They're always very fast, and the staff is so kind (I've left my purse here on accident and they stored it so I could come back for it!). The restaurant is cozy but with enough seats that you usually don't have to wait for a table. This is still one of my go to neighborhood sushi spots when I want great fish, hot tea, and a meal where I can see and hear my dining companions.

Yelp
Wow!! I highly recommend this hidden gem in Potrero Hill. Cozy interior and great for family meals or date night. High quality fish with very skilled chefs making unique dishes! Chef's Omakase-style Tasting Box (5/5): This was definitely the star of the show!!! A huge box full of luxurious cuts of fish. We're talking sea urchin, amaebi, salmon belly, oyster, and even wagyu! My favorites were the hamachi belly and amaebi... and the toro sashimi always hits of course. I definitely recommend for special occasions! :) A few things that also impressed me were the Uni Scallop, Giants Roll, and the #1 Handroll! Freshly prepared and each item was perfectly balanced. I would order all three of these items again! On a budget, and want a good variety of fish? Try the Live Sushi Combo! It comes with various nigiri, sashimi, and a spicy tuna roll! If you can't drop money on the omakase, this is the way to go!!!

Yelp
Came here yesterday for a neighborhood happy hour & early date night. Our side miso soup and salad came out first and the rest of our plates came out all at once. Faves were the rainbow roll (HH item) and chirashi - both were super tasty and would order again! The rainbow roll was nicely crunchy and balanced. For the chirashi they had both a regular and an upgrade option - we opted for the regular option which was generously portioned and had a variety of fresh high quality fish including scallops. Chicken karaage (another HH item) was good especially with a little lemon drizzle but I would swap it for another roll next time. We also shared the nabeyaki udon since we wanted hot broth to beat the cold weather. Overall this spot is super cozy and quiet with ample seating. Happy hour is budget friendly and some of their special items might be nice for a splurge. Will definitely be back and I would love to try more of their creative fish options next time- I have my eye on the chef's omakase style tasting box!

Yelp
I've DoorDash'd from Live Sushi way too many times. I finally came in for dinner. FYI: the bento boxes that are on DoorDash are NOT available for dine-in. What We Ordered: + Sushi Party; 5/5 + Ankimo Shiso; 5/5 The two guys were hungry, but I eat like a bird, so I joined them on the Sushi Party combo. 18 pieces of sashimi, 12 pieces of nigiri, California roll, avocado roll, and spicy tuna roll. Perfect for our party of 3. We left stuffed! You can also opt to upgrade your selections of fish. Highly recommend for a nominal price. Side Note: I highly recommend the bento boxes on DoorDash, whether it be the 2 or 3 item. I love their beef teriyaki and short ribs.

Yelp
Ordered takeout and it was really tasty! I think we got some kind of sashimi and nigiri sampler and all the fish was delicious. I really like how they don't skimp on wasabi and ginger. We also got a couple of crunchy rolls that were yoms but my fave was definitely the sashimi and nigiri. Would for sure order again! The miso soup, edamame, and wakame salad were all good too but nothing spectacular.

Yelp
I came in last Sunday evening for a meal with some friends. The food was great but one thing that bothered me was the smell of one of the employees. I would like to keep their identity a secret but in a fine establishment at least have proper hygiene.

Yelp
I've celebrated two graduation dinners with my family at Live Sushi recently, and both times the food hit the spot! The first time, they didn't let us do one big table of 14, but the second time we were able to. I think it depends on which manager you are able to get on the phone. With a big group, they require that you pre-order most of your items but you can obviously add more on once you are there. You are allowed to bring 3 of your own bottles, so we had 2 white wines and a sake. The service is always really good and everything came out at a good pace. Among the starters, I liked the short rib, ankimo, and tako sunomono. The rolls we got were all really good, including the chef roll, DJ roll, and the transformer roll. We also got the 16-pc chef sashimi selection and the fusion combo and everything was very fresh and the cuts were not too thin. I loved the amaebi (nigiri and fried heads) and the scallop (nigiri and fried pieces) the most, followed by the chutoro and yellowtail. We added on uni nigiri at the end, and it was topped generously with fresh and sweet pieces of uni. Overall, it was such a fun dinner here and we were so glad we could celebrate with a big group. There's a reason my family has been coming here since I was a kid!

Yelp
This is a relatively nondescript Japanese sushi restaurant with no frills. We've eaten here a couple times and have done takeout several times. It's been a success every time in that the chirashi bowl is so soft, juicy, and fresh. I got the chef's special chiarshi bowl for the first time, and all the sashimi pieces melted in my life. I highly recommend this place, especially due to the freshness of the fish!
google avatar

Yelp
Come here for fresh fish and the sweetest scallops! This has been the new favorite lunch spot if you're craving Japanese. For lunch you can chose from their bento boxes or from the regular menu. Today we decided to splurge and try the live sushi combination and even upgrade for an extra $8 to get a elevated selection of fish. I say the upgrade is worth it we got to try toro which was heavenly and melt in your mouth. The nigiri upgrades were also delightful. This set comes with miso soup, salad, 4 slices of sashimi, 7 piece nigiri, and a spicy tuna roll. Something that surprised me was the rice was cold in the rolls and nigiri which did make for a slightly harder texture but not something to throw off the meal! If you get the chance to try the Hokkaido scallop nigiri you should go for it! It's creamy smooth and sweet. It's probably the most delightful bite I've had in a while. The staff was pleasant and attentive as our glasses were empty. Our server gave recommendations and provided cheerful banter. Will be back soon for more delicious fish :)

Yelp
San Francisco's best kept sushi secret where flavor meets affordability at a casual sushi bar. Service was great and every dish I had here was under $30, with my favorite being the chirashi bowl and live sushi combination. The Chirashi bowl is a vibrant arrangement of 13 thick cuts of fresh sashimi atop sushi rice, and is a feast for the eyes and palate. The Live Sushi Combination is a symphony of flavors and textures, showcasing 6 deluxe nigiris, 4 cuts of sashimi and 6 spicy tuna rolls. #1 Handroll, a true gem of the menu, is an indulgence worth savoring. The creamy uni and quail egg, with seared salmon skin, nestled within a crisp seaweed cone, is a burst of textures and complex flavors. The Albacore Tataki, lightly seared white tuna seasoned to perfection, melts in your mouth with a burst of umami goodness from the sauce. The Crab Napoleon, a delicate construction of crab meat, avocado, and tobiko, is a testament to the chef's artistry. From the freshness of the ingredients to being able to watch the chefs prepare each dish infront of me, it was truly a dining experience that showed sushi can be both affordable and delicious!

Yelp
Food: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Value: 4/5 Ambiance: Casual-nice, cute ambiance Ordered the chicken karaage, DJ roll, Romeo & Juliet roll, mini scallop burger, and hamachi kama. All items were very flavorful, the menu is extensive and has many options for sushi and entree items. In relation to other similar priced 4-5 star sushi restaurants in SF, I'd say it's very comparable in price, freshness and taste. Aesthetically, the rolls look great and have great presentation. Would come back again!

Yelp
amazing place for sushi and the ambiance is very nice !! it's a smaller restaurant, but the fish is very very fresh and I would definitely come back again !

Yelp
Small corner restaurant with limited parking. Visited during lunch hours. Tried two bento boxes that included a mixture of chicken (well cooked and seasoned), short ribs (tender and charred), tempura (lightly battered and crispy), sashimi (surprised this is part of their bento - included salmon and tuna, both delicious and extremely fresh) and lastly sake maki (fresh). Bentos all come with miso and salad as well. Also tried the hamachi tartare-light and fresh with lots of flavor, it is spicy if can't do spice. In addition to that, two rolls of- 49er and Giants roll. Both really good but the giants roll was my absolute favorite. A must try if you are in the area, high recommend.

Yelp
Food: - I cannot believe such a fresh fish joint is walking distance from me! - the fish quality is similar to what we have received from Japan. I do not say this lightly - our friends swore by the chirashi bowl, so we got the seasonal chirashi. So many of the cuts melted in our mouth and was so fatty in the best way possible - for 4 people, we gor 4 chirashi bowls and 1 sushi roll. The chirashi bowls come with soup and salad, so we left extra full! Service: - not really what you're paying for, we had to flag down our waiter after 30 min to take our order Ambiance: - cute small restaurant, feels like you've gone away to a different place outside of sf

Yelp
A hidden gem in SF. Was craving authentic Japanese food (specifically tempura & soba noodles) after visiting Japan and Live Sushi Bar did not disappoint. The tempura was extremely fresh (and also light - the shrimp was the best), and the soba noodles were very tasty & great quality. We didn't make a reservation on a Friday night, and even though the restaurant was packed - they were accommodating and seated us quickly. The sushi is also fantastic - loved the salmon, scallops, and hamachi. Will def be back!
google avatar

Yelp
We ordered the Crazy Monkey Roll ($12), Chicken Karaage ($12) and Live Sushi Combo ($27). The Live Sushi Combo is good value for the price. There is even an option for the Live Sushi Combo and Chirashi to upgrade to more premium fish for an additional $8. The restaurant was pretty empty during our visit on a Sunday evening so we were able to get seated right away without a reservation. The decor is cute and nautical and there is lots of natural light. The servers are also friendly. I will be back to try some of their unique appetizers!
google avatar

Angela W.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Came here for a late lunch, early dinner. We decided to order 3 rolls and chicken karage to share. The chicken karage was good but it was more like popcorn chicken (more batter), than karage - pieces were small and not big compared to other places. The sushi rolls were good and the fish tasted fresh. The best was definitely the Romeo & Juliet roll! Service was good - attentive employees and food came out in a timely manner. Rolls we ordered from left to right: - Firecracker roll - Romeo & Juliet roll - Giants roll
google avatar

Corey M.

Yelp
So first off the quality of the sushi itself is awesome and delicious and it would be 5 stars... My main issue is in the YEARS of going there and ordering takeout from there they have NEVER gotten a takeout order correct. Ever. There's always at least one part of the order wrong. I'm starting to wonder if its on purpose or something its so consistent.

Yelp
Found one of my new favorite sushi spot! Came by on a Wednesday night and got seated right away! Interior is spacious and clean. Our server, William C. was amazing! He got us some cold water quickly right as we sat down as it was so warm outside so that was nice and refreshing! Mix Tempura: 5/5 Great variety of fried vegetables and shrimp tempura. My favorite was the japanese yam and shrimp! Hamachi Tartare: 5/5 This dish was very nicely plated. Essentially some minced yellowtail topped with onion, avocado, and masago over fried shrimp chip. The bite was flavorful and delicious! Lovers Boat: 5/5 Nice variety of nigiri, sashimi, CA roll, and avocado roll so we were able to try a couple different fish. Fish tasted super fresh and rice to fish ratio was perfect. Not too much rice on the nigiri and fish pieces on top were a good size. I'm very satisfied with every dish and I can't wait to try out other items! Prices were pretty fair and service was amazing overall. The sushi chefs were working hard at the sushi bar and all the servers were attentive with all the guests. Great service! I recommend trying out this place if you are in the mood for sushi or want to try it out! Will definitely come back again!
google avatar

Lucy H.

Yelp
Great lunch option. Fish quality is great. I got a chirashi bowl which I upgraded for $8 for better fish upon the server's recommendation. Very filling and flavorful with the side of seaweed salad that came in the bowl. The rice is nothing too special compared to other sushi places, so taking off a star for that. Service is quick and very attentive! They kept refilling my hot tea and checking in. The interior boat-themed decor is interesting. I would come here again for a quick lunch.
google avatar

Moukthika O.

Yelp
Love this place!! Decided to try a new sushi spot and we came across live sushi bar. They have a great selection and we got the chef 11 piece tasting menu and it was super good! So fresh and they had an option to upgrade to the seasonal selection. The giants roll was also SO good- maybe top 5 rolls I've ever had. It was fresh and flavorful but crispy with the tempura! Will definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Yelp
I can't believe I didn't write a review yet ! This is the best sushi in the town , we are coming here every single Sunday for the last year and every time enjoying from this place like a first time ! I saw a few 1 star reviews over here ... Well my personal opinion is that those reviews not representing this place AT ALL !!!!!!!!!! If you are want to enjoy of a good food and a great place this is the place and no doubt about ! After 10 years going to this place it's still #1

Yelp
This Potrero Hill local sushi spot will turn into your go to place for sushi. Plenty of seating and a view of the sushi chefs from all the tables. Amazing flavors and creations by the sushi chefs. Note: Try the Wagyu beef roll...Trust Me! Recommend and will be back.

Yelp
Awesome neighborhood sushi joint. The agedashi tofu is excellent and sushi is really fresh. Service is great too. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING. Must try. So fresh, so delicious. And the portion sizes are reasonable for the price! We love this place. The waiter was great as well. - SFPD roll (4.5/5): Lots of flavor, fresh fish. Good portion size for a special roll. - Chirashi combo (5/5): We upgraded to the "more fresh fish" for $8. We compared to the regular we got with the live sushi combo, and you can definitely tell the difference of how the sashimi just melts in your mouth. So fresh and delicious, I can't recommend enough. - Live sushi combo (5/5): Chef's choice, everything was literally so good. My favorite has always been salmon, and it was so thick, perfect amount of fat. We loved it!

Yelp
This is a cute spot with some great fish. The service is relatively prompt, and despite this restaurant being a bit of a hole in the wall, they manage to strike a fine balance between casual and semi-upscale. Wandering into Live Sushi from the somewhat desolated corner of 17th street is like walking into another world. What to get: I highly recommend the seasonal chirashi bowl - it's an incredible value, and you get to sample a wide array of amazing fish. If sushi is more your speed, the seasonal Live Sushi combo is a close second. Long story short, if you want a rec on what to order, look no further. These are the two to consider, full stop. Both come with a miso soup and a small salad. When to go: Great for a lunch date or a casual dinner! You're in easy walking distance to Potrero Hill and Mission Bay if you'd like to wander elsewhere for dessert.

Stella R.

Yelp
So to make matters worse! The manager calls me back nearly a week later after I left a 1 star review and apologizes. Wow! Customer service is awful.
google avatar

SanFran D.

Yelp
Unfortunately just tried to enjoy lunch with my mom at Live Sushi today only to find a black rice weevil crawling within her side of rice. I immediately notified the waitress. The waitress then took my mom's bento box and offered a replacement at no charge but my mom refused the replacement. The waitress then felt the need to state that the restaurant has flying bugs. If you notice in the videos taken, it's very clear this was NOT a flying bug and a clear health violation. In shock and disbelief, we requested the bill immediately and decided to leave the restaurant. Absolutely gross!!!
google avatar

Alyssa A.

Yelp
this is a great dinner spot, very romantic in the evening and has speedy service even during a dinner rush! the fish is impressively fresh, delicious and flavorful... i would come back again to try more of their menu
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
We came here for dinner on a Friday night and it was super easy to get a reservation. The prices were really reasonable and the quality was pretty on par for the cost. We shared the oysters, albacore toro nigiri, hamachi toro nigiri, cucumber sashimi roll, and the family affair roll between two people. The albacore toro and the family affair roll were my favorites. The albacore was fatty and the family affair roll had a good/interesting smoky flavor to it? The cucumber roll wasn't what I expected; it really was just small cuts of sashimi wrapped in cucumber. It wasn't bad, but should have looked up pictures. The oysters were ok, would probably pass on them next time. Nothing really stood out to me, but it was a good meal for the cost!
google avatar

Neli C.

Yelp
A classic SF sushi spot. I live a few blocks away. Usually order hand rolls or DJ roll or Romeo and Juliet. freshest sushi ever! It's so consistent and delicious. I've tried many other spots in SF and this place is so fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here with a friend with a reservation on Opentable. Good: - Very cute small place in Potrero Hill - I like the easily parkable location - Fan of the SFPD and Romeo and Juliet rolls - really good flavor and I wanted more when I was done with both rolls - 4.5/5 rolls - I thought the beef udon soup was average - but still nice on a cold day - 3/5 - Quick service - food arrives quite quickly to the table after ordering. Bad: - Nothing too special about the food or ambiance that makes me think "oh wow this is somewhere I'd definitely take my friends" Overall just a solid Japanese place that's cute and decently affordable.
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
Classic neighborhood place serving all the staples. Staff was really nice and accommodating for a large group, a big plus. However, the sushi itself was a miss. Rice lacked flavor and frankly tasted old, while the fish wasn't what we all expected.
google avatar

Yelp
Got take out from here, and it was very tasty! Quality sushi, great miso. Will have to dine in next time!

Yelp
My first time trying Live Sushi, I was so excited when my total for their Live Sushi combo for dinner came out to be under $30 on UberEats, and even MORE EXCITED when I saw how amazing of a value it was!!!!! They gave me two nigiri each of salmon belly, medium fatty tuna, and I think an albacore of some sort + 1 unagi nigiri as well. And get this: two slices of very fatty tuna sashimi and hamachi as well... ALL SO DELICIOUS AND FRESH!!!!!!!!! AHHHH!!! Oh it came w/ a salad, california roll, and a soup as well, which was an even nicer touch. My high night was very successful, thank you Live! Btw, their california and tuna rolls are bomb.... just the perfect combo of rice and fish will do that to ya. I then came to try more of their appetizers, nigiri, and Sake in person -- all very yummy but nothing mind blowing( even after paying +8 for more premium fish), except the Ankimo.. I think that was my favorite that day! I would not recommend their Live Sushi Lunch. Would be better to just wait for dinner and the more premium fish. I would also not recommend their #1 hand roll --the $12 hand roll had some greens in there that just overpowered the delicate taste of the uni. Overall, I will be coming back religiously for their dinner combo take outs!!! Their restaurant has very poor wifi so it's great to have a date lol

Danielle G.

Yelp
This is a go to since it is so close. Food is good, and always fresh. If you don't want sushi there is also other options too.
google avatar

Yelp
Food 5 stars. Ambiance five stars. Service five stars. Crap. Ate the food so fast that I didn't take photos. Guess I will have to come back. I highly recommend the Giants Roll and the Double Hamachi Roll.

Yelp
We were supposed to eat lunch at Okane but they called and said the sewer broke and they couldn't open but they could make us a reservation at their sister place Live Sushi. So here we are. They have parking on the street which is free and not metered but just 2 hours so perfect. The place in right on the corner. There is a side entrance for Uber eat people. The place wasn't busy so we really didn't need a reservation. we got here on a Friday at 11:45AM so lunch time. There were about three tables taken up. She told us we could sit anywhere and congratulated my daughter on her graduation from college. That's what we were celebrating. We sat down but I had to use the bathroom and they have 2 with gender neutral signs on each door. My wife got the agedashi tofu and loved it. The tofu was really silky and smooth. we got the SFPD roll and The Roll . both were really good. My daughter and Mother in law got the udon which they liked a lot. So happy with this place. I got the Chirashi Sushi and boy the fish was so fresh and melted in my mouth. Was amazing. I will still have to try Okane since it was on the Michelin guide. Live Sushi is fabulous too.

Yelp
we were so excited to try this spot because we've heard great things about the other restaurant that the owner owns (omakase style restaurant) my friend got sashimi which was really fresh and delicious! I got a 2 item bento dinner and was slightly disappointed with my meal. Portion wise was good and price-wise was decent but it just didn't wow me for a restaurant owned by a man who has 2 Michelin stars. The service was also not the best. No one greeted us, no one asked how the food was, and no one said thank you or goodbye. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant where there was a lack of service or just communication in general.

Yelp
5 stars for this establishments' efforts to correct their mistakes, something very important in customer service! I was bummed to have to give my FAVORITE sushi restaurant in SF a 1 star review after so many bad experiences. But after my review, the manager immediately contacted me and turned a wrong into a right. They offered me $100 credit on my next visit- which is around how much I usually spend each time I come here. I ordered my usual order- and even had a left over balance due but this kind restaurant said don't even worry about it. Took my order To go and when I got home, everything was just WOW. PERFECT. Just like how I first remembered it being! Everything was cooked/ packaged/ and rolled perfectly! The meal was so enjoyable and I was so happy that the establishment took the time and effort to fix a mistake. I'm a happy, satisfied, and returning customer. THANK YOU LOVE SUSHI!!!! :)

Yelp
Caveat: This is a review for a Doordash order from Live. I don't do takeout often, and personally prefer to dine in, but some exceptions when eating with friends in particular! A few of us ordered a couple of items from here. Some of my friends have tried the chirashi from here before and had rave reviews, so we decided to try it again. Chirashi bowls continued to be a hit, but I got a two-item dinner bento ($19 before a $3 up-charge for chicken karaage). I wasn't super impressed by either item I got - Chicken Karaage is typically my favorite appetizer but this was cold / seasoning didn't stand out, and the sashimi was not fishy but also not very flavorful. The portion sizes were good though! Not super incentivized to try it but might give it a shot if passing by in person next time.

Yelp
Quaint sushi bar in Portrero that's perfect for lunch. Solid offerings at reasonable prices. You don't need a reservation and it's usually quick to seat. If you're looking for a nice lunch spot with a friend, this is a great spot.

Yelp
I order their food on DoorDash. One of my go to spots for seafood - spicy tuna rolls, shrimp tempura, and I also love the chicken teriyaki. I'm not a huge sushi person so I'm no expert, but I really like this place and they seem to be consistent every time I order. Definitely recommend this spot.

Yelp
After we attended a commencement, we came here to celebrate my daughter graduating from college. We chose a great place. Food was really good. The staff was very friendly. They sat us right away. There was a good amount of people in the place. Getting busier as time went on. I ordered Agedashi Tofu. The tofu was very good. It was smooth and silky. You can tell the quality of the tofu was top notch. Taste really good. The kitchen sent out an appetizer of a filled shrimp chip with avocado topping. That was ok. Something different, but a good way. We also order some rolls, SFPD and The roll. I liked the SFPD roll better than The Roll. They were both good, but SFPD had better flavoring that came together when you ate it. My husband order some Chirashi Sushi. He said it was really good, super fresh. We had a good experience and great food. We'll come here again when we are in town again.
