Google
Great dessert spot serving numerous different sweet and savory options. I didn’t even know where to start when I arrived as there so many things to choose from. I ended up getting the rhubarb mini pie and a peanut butter cookie. I really liked the rhubarb pie. It had the perfect balance of tartness and a little bit of sweet. The crust was flakey and I could taste the butter in it. Staff was super friendly and helped me narrow down my options.

As an Asian, I’ve never tried pie before, so one day when I was craving something sweet, I decided to give it a shot. After Googling for the best spot, I found a place with high ratings and thought, “Why not?” I ended up buying six different pies to sample. Let me tell you—they were all amazing, especially the pecan pie. The crust was super thin, crispy, and held together perfectly. Cookies is incredible too. But the worst one? The cranberry pear. Not my vibe at all. A few were a bit too sweet for my taste—like, the key lime was crazy sweet. But overall, the staff were super friendly, the vibe was chill, and everything was super fresh. Definitely worth it! This photo is from the second time I bought it, and this time, I went all out and got a big pecan pie to really indulge.

We were excited to try this Pie place because we saw the photos and reviews. We bought a “Turtle Pie” which we were looking forward to because it combines chocolate and Pecan. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. While the filling is very good, the pie itself is non-existent. For instance, you cannot cut a piece without everything crumbling and the bottom Pie crust is “stuck” to the bottom of the box (this somewhat appears in the photo). Moreover, whatever crust we are able to salvage (including the upper corners) was extremely dry and tasteless (tastes a bit stale and zero crunch). The three stars are for the filling and zero star for the Pie itself. If the actual pie crust were to be crunchy and flaky, this could have has the potential to be excellent. Edited after response: Appreciate the response but the Pie above was consumed straight from the store, it was not in the fridge. We had it about 25 minutes after we picked it up. I reached out by email.

Google
We love this place! The pies are amazing but so are the brownies and cookies and cakes! When my relatives visit from out of town this is where they go first. Personal favs are salted caramel butterscotch pudding and peanut butter pie but the berry pies are a close third. They definitely believe in work life balance though, so make sure you check their hours before going there because they close for holidays, etc. Parking can be tricky too!

Google
Livin' the Pie Life is one of my favorite places in the DC-area. I frequently stop in to grab treats when I'm in Arlington, but it's worth going out of your way even if you aren't close-by. The quiche lorraine, mile high chocolate pie, peanut butter cookies, and brownies are my current favorites. I have yet to try anything I haven't liked, so you can't go wrong!

Google
Fantastic first experience here yesterday. The staff were warm and friendly and helped us decide what to try. We ended up with slices of the brown butter coconut pie, blueberry rhubarb, salted caramel chocolate chess, and mixed berry cake (it had a cuter name I can’t recall). We also tried each of the cookies and a cinnamon roll. Everything was fantastic. Between the great quality and wonderful customer service, this place is a 10/10.

Google
The best pie I've had in Arlington since I moved here. I stopped by today to try the Brown Butter Coconut Chess Pie. I love brown butter anything and I love coconut! This pie was phenomenal. 10 out of 10. The guy working the counter was so sweet and helpful! I'll definitely be back. Adding this to the list of places to bring friends and family when they visit. 💛

Google
These are really good pies and other baked goods. Great flavors, great textures, great staff. The crust is perfectly flaky, crispy and has a slight chew. Way better than most places where the crust is dense and brittle with no flavor. Also appreciate that they periodically update their website to let you know what is sold out.

Yelp
10s across the board!!! I absolutely loved this place and can see myself braving the northern va traffic just to come back. I ordered the sausage and monterrey jack cheese quiche, chocolate chip cookie, and apple crumble personal pie. They gave so many choices and I had a hard time picking one but the girls at the register were so patient with me and gave great recommendations. Everything I tried was delicious, even better when I got home and heated it up (which I would recommend asking if they can do so if you plan on eating it right away). There's outside seating but not as much and street parking right outside the restaurant. I'm already thinking about what to get next time I go! Pro tip they don't have the sambusas on the weekend apparently which is on my list for next time

Yelp
Saturday 6/21/2025 I had this spot on my list for a while and had been planning the best time to go while tracking their weekly menus. I arrived about 25 min after opening so that nearly all the items were available for my choosing. It's a small spot, but it was active in there despite only opening for less than 30 minutes. The service was pretty good: I asked the staff member for recommendations and insight on what to order, and she ended up being very helpful. I got a cheddar-bacon scone $5, mile high chocolate (individual pie) $6.95, apple caramel crumb (individual pie) $6.95, maple cinnamon roll $5.50, and the chocolate chip cookie $4.50. - The cheddar-bacon scone was a recommendation from the staff member, and despite never having a "savory" scone it ended up being pretty good. Personally, Scones are very similar to biscuits and now I'm starting to understand the hype for them. - The mile-high chocolate pie was decent on the first bite, but didn't taste as good after being in the fridge for a few hours. Also, it reminds me of those Burger King chocolate pies that I used to have back in the day. - The apple caramel crumb pie was okay but got a lot better when warmed up. I could only imagine how good this would pair with some vanilla ice cream. - The maple cinnamon roll was one of my main draws to coming here. Fortunately, it was worth it as the cinnamon roll was soft and moist with noticeable maple flavors. The texture of the dough is more akin to crumby/cakey than the typical "firm" but soft cinnamon roll breading I usually get, but it's still good. - The chocolate chip cookie was pretty good. It had a great balance of ingredients and enough chocolate chips for me. All in all, I wasn't crazy about the pies (ironic) but everything else was pretty good. it's a solid bakery that I'd be open to returning to. -- For more FOOD content, follow me on Instagram: @issa.cheatday

Yelp
I bought a very expensive blueberry pie and was so disappointed and sent an email to the shop explaining the pie was sour and blueberries not even close to ripe and questioning if they were even blueberries. Also the crust was raw and uncooked I did not get a response in 1 week and will never ever go back ...Since I posted the review I heard back from Heather and Wendy and they honored their 100% refund policy very quickly - I so appreciated their response

Yelp
I love this place! A friend of mine told me about this place and I went one day for a scone and was completely sold. Then one day I bought a blueberry scone for my dad who wasn't feeling well and loves blueberry scones. It was an absolute hit, and the man who thinks everything should be homemade felt like this was a store that does homemade! So today I decided to get my dad a blueberry scone as his last meal as we prepare for him to move to heaven, the girls behind the counter is always loving, friendly and cheerful paid for my dad scone. It's the little things that people do that rejuvenate the humanity and love our world has to offer. I hope everybody has a live in the pie life company and staff near them when they need them.

Yelp
Okay; I know this is Livin the *Pie* Life, but their brownies are from heaven. Rich, decadent, the magical cure to turn around a bad day or perfect treat to celebrate a friend's birthday. I live around the corner and would be there every week, if not for fear of becoming "the brownie girl." 100% worth the price as each brownie is large and the rich chocolate makes it easy to savor for days. Seriously, try this brownie! (But please don't buy the last one in case I need it!) ((as for pie, I keep a chicken pot pie in the freezer. easily the best cpp, especially compared to other dc options. love to gift to new parents, easy and delicious meal. the sambusa is also great))

Yelp
Mini pies we ordered for an event were fantastic. We had Keylime, chocolate and apple and they were all so yummy.

Yelp
Order the maple cinnamon rolls on the weekend. That's pretty much all I can speak to, but I get them every few months and they're my favorite sweet treat in the DMV

Yelp
Cookies, cakes, pies, quiches oh my! I was scrolling through social media and somehow found this place. I wanted to try an individual savory pie but they were out of the size at the time. I opted for a few of their desserts. I picked up a cinnamon roll, peanut butter cookie and a small apple crumb pie. All of which were delicious! The rice krispy treat was made with brown butter. Instant eye roll on first bite. The menu seems to change weekly, so be sure to check their website for updates.

Yelp
Great pie and savory pastries. Be sure to try the ginger snap cookies!! Come early for the best selection. Takes charge, limited parking. A few tables and chairs outside. No coffee or beverages.
google avatar

Yelp
Bought the Lorraine quiche to get an understanding on why it's $36. Compared it to a typical grocery store quiche that's usually less than $20 for roughly the same size. There were a lot of positive differences such as the overall quiche was lighter, eggs were fluffy and not dense, bacon bits were sizeable, the crust was flakey and had a similar taste/texture to a croissant, and a caramelized top. Wouldn't purchase routinely, but definitely worth buying over any grocery store quiche. One pie is about 8 servings if you're hosting or want something to eat over the course of a few weeks. Definitely want to try other pies and desserts from here!

Yelp
Please update your website accordingly. I have checked the website, arrived before you open, stood in line only to get to the counter and the advertised pies are not available (brown butter coconut and pecan). Very frustrating since I get up early on the weekends to drive to your location and stand in line, just to be disappointed. Response to Owner - Your response about what I "thought" IS INCORRECT, IT'S A FACT. YOU ALL DID NOT HAVE WHAT WAS POSTED ON YOUR WEBSITE UPON OPENING, TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THAT STATEMENT. To state I should ORDER AHEAD is ridiculous when you're a store front, which states, the website gets updated with availability. GO TO ONLINE ORDERS ONLY.

Yelp
I tried the coconut pie - pretty good! I think it's definitely worth trying at some point if you are looking for a more home fashion kind of dessert.

Yelp
Amazing Pies! So fresh and delicious. You won't be disappointed, made the chocolate chess pie my birthday "cake". Yummo Very busy shop, can't be in a hurry.

Yelp
I frequently check their website to see what quiches they have for the week. Yesterday, I saw they had Ham & Gruyère cheese quiche. I called and spoke to a very helpful staff person who held 1 for me for pick up. My family devoured it! No leftovers for breakfast even.

Douglas L.

Yelp
Just found the place today. This is, without exaggeration or hyperbole, the best chicken pot pie I have ever had in my entire life. And THEN we had the Tart Cherry with flaky crust for dessert - if it's not the best I've ever had, it's in the top 3. WOW.

Terry H.

Yelp
You can't trust their menu. This neighborhood bakery posts a menu on line the day before so that you will know what they have available. We wanted a chicken pot pie and they claimed that they had two sizes for purchase on 12/14. We drove 30 minutes and arrived before the store opened to be sure we got one and were the second people on line. To our surprise, the counter person said " we don't have any". She claimed we had seen the menu from the day before but we had printed out their menu and showed her that, in fact, we had the right date and what we were looking for was the first item listed. She just shrugged. Maybe they should not post menus on line if they aren't accurate. I mean, why bother? It's a lousy way to treat customers.

Yelp
OMG. You cannot go wrong here. Whether you are ordering a savory pie or a sweet pie, you will crave for more. During the summer, they tend to have a tomato pie that is to die for. I am a heavy meat eater and this is the only dish that I could probably eat for a week and not have meat. The apple pie es pretty good and the pecan pie is delish. Chicken pot pie is also pretty amazing. The only bad thing is the opening hours (wish they'd be open until 7pm). Sometimes miss it by just a mere 15 minutes as I rush in traffic trying to make it before 6pm to pick dinner for the family. They also close pretty early on Saturdays and Sundays and do not open Mondays and Tuesdays. This is also a place to pick up and take home and parking is a difficult to find. I wish they'd move to the Chesterbrook mall that is looking for tenants and restaurants. They would find a ton of clients (not that they need more) but they could offer parking.

Yelp
I am reluctant to leave a review as the owner seems to respond in an unfriendly manner. I just don't understand what all the hype is about these pies. The crust is not at all tasty (quite bad actually) and the pie fillings are not that great. I also find the pricing of the pies quite high, but understand the rent might be high thus, the prices. Have tried the pies a few times so it's not an off-type experience. I don't get it. That's just my own opinion as I understand there are plenty of folks that continue to buy the pies.

Yelp
Livin' the Pie Life provided pies for my husband and my wedding and they were nothing short of incredible. Our family and friends are still talking about them. After a six-stop pie crawl across the city to find our favorite baker, They were the hands down favorite. We ultimately ordered Apple Pie (Crumble Crust), Pecan, and Chocolate Chess. They were all delicious and the crust was AMAZING. On top of that, Wendy could not have been kinder or more helpful. Cannot wait to get back to try the cinnamon rolls that have been calling my name....

Yelp
Eureka! We found our pie place in the DMV area! We ordered the caramel chess pie and chocolate pecan pies for Christmas. Per their instructions, we froze them when we got home and followed instructions for thawing and reheating before serving. They were SO good. Both pies had that deep, luxurious flavor without the overwhelming sweetness. The caramel chess slightly nudged out the chocolate pecan because of its silky filling, but both were big hits with our family. I also love love love their pie crust. So buttery and flaky. If you are like me and look forward to the pie crust the most, these pies will not disappoint! We wanted to try the savory ones but they were out by the time we stopped by at 3 pm. Will have to return to try those!

Yelp
I had the traditional apple pie and it was truly delicious. The spice blend was right on. Just a heads up, they are reluctant to sell individual slices-- there are small rounds that they sell instead that are maybe 4in tins? My favorite part of a pie isn't the crust but the filling (I know... sacrilege), so the little tins seem to be all crust and not for me. I was looking for a few slices of a few different pies, like you'd order at a walk-up bakery. As I was thanking them and turning to go, the other woman behind the counter said they could cut the apple by the slice "since it was Saturday and they could probably sell the other slices." I totally get if they'd rather not sell by the slice, but if I had known, I would have waited to go until I was in the need of a full pie, instead of just a few slices! If you're looking to order for an event-- this is the place for you! The pie really was delicious!

Joe L.

Yelp
Sadly there was a big drop off in quality for the holiday pies we ordered this year. The pumpkin praline topping was simply not good. They ground the pecans down nearly to powder and combined it with far too much sugar. The triple berry pie was also a major let down. It had both a soggy bottom and top. The filling contained so much grit and seeds, it was a clear and present danger to dental work. We'd be fine paying nearly $40 per pie for something delicious (like Livin' the Pie Life used to bake in years past). It seems they've lost quality control. $10 pies from Safeway or Giant are a lot tastier than what we were served.

Yelp
Hands down one of the best pies I've had in my life. If you're looking for a nice BBC to scarf down, this is it. There's your TL;DR. For those who want the juicy details - I was in search for a nice pie to have for Thanksgiving dinner. Doing a search on Yelp, Livin the Pie Life shows up as a banger, so for sure I had to give it a try. Lo' and behold, I underestimated the vigor Northern Virginia residents have for pies. I showed up for their 515 pm last-minute pie extravaganza the day before Thanksgiving at 5pm, and bam I was about 100 people back. While I ended up waiting just over an hour and 15 minutes for my pie (more on that below), and just as I was debating whether it was worth it (around the 20-30 min mark), I was pleasantly surprised by one of their employees who came down the line and treated us with a complementary chocolate chip cookie (and a decent sized one at that). After scarfing down that CCC, I was committed. Do or die, I was leaving with a pie. Fortunately as I neared the front, I ended up being one of the last handful of customers who walked away with a pie. They went from over 6 or 7 pies at the start, to the last 3 when I arrived at the front, and one last pumpkin pie remaining. Of course, I said no to the pumpkin pie and opted for that Brown Butter Coconut (BBC) Pie. YUM. Other than brown butter and coconut, I had no idea what to expect. However, when I was down to the last 3 pickings, I asked them which was the least sweet and they gave me the BBC. Finally taking a bite into it on Thanksgiving day, I was pleasantly surprised with the BBC as it filled my mouth with pleasant aromas and oozing's of what seemed and tasted like almond filling. No where in that BBC did I expect any almond filling (otherwise, it'd be known as the BBAC?). But, it was delicious. I savored that BBC for the next several days. After finishing that BBC Pie, I immediately looked at what was next. Christmas pies? Yes, please. I've already got a Chicken Pot Pie on order and a Cherry pie for Christmas... yesssssirr!

Amy S.

Yelp
The chicken pot pie was oily, heavy and oddly sweet. The crust was nice but I found the filling to be bland and unusual.

Yelp
I decided to stop in since I past it from time to time. They had a lot of options and it was also good that a small shop like this takes card. I decided to get a blueberry scone and the apple pie slice. The scone was not really that great, the blueberries were off. The pie was great and I would go back to try more flavors.
google avatar

Terri L.

Yelp
You will not be disappointed in these pies, quiches, cookies and more! All locally sourced ingredients and full of flavor and you will feel like you're at home in your mom's kitchen eating one of her made from scratch scrumptious sweets. Yummy!!!!

M K.

Yelp
I have been dreaming about the tomato pie since I had it last year. once again Amazing!! love this place, everything I have had from scones to pies to cookies has been out of this world.
google avatar

Britney C.

Yelp
The best place to get your pie fix in all of Arlington and my go-to holiday pie place. The lines can get intense around the holiday season and I recommend you go early because they sell our of things quick if you do not pre-order. Parking can be a pain sometimes as it is located in a neighborhood on a one way street that is tight. I can typically find parking on the next street over. I will be back to try their other baked goods!
google avatar

Jam C.

Yelp
I can't believe it took me this long to try this place! The pies are amazing, from the crust to the fillings. I rarely get excited about the pies I've tried in the DC area but these are so crave worthy! Went on Pi Day and got Cherry, Apple Caramel Crumb and Chocolate Caramel Chess individual pies. Everything was delicious and the first bites were definitely OMG moments. The apple pie might even be a contender for our ultimate favorite apple pie from Blue Duck Tavern! This is definitely my go to pie place now. Can't wait to to try the savory ones next time. Their dining room is closed during COVID but they have an outdoor set up for walk in orders and online pick ups. Online orders takes some planning since it is not next day pick up. I did walk in and got there 30 mins after they opened on Pi Day and a few items were already almost sold out. I ended up getting the last apple pie!

Yelp
This place was amazing. Had a bit of time before yet another soccer game and not a big fan of hotel powdered eggs for breakfast. Found this place on yelp and after figuring out parking (residential neighborhood with tight parking) walked in and was immediately greeted by staff and the smell of pies baking. My husband and I ordered a ginger fog scone, a savory pie, a chocolate chip cookie, and a caramel apple individual pie. They didn't have coffee which was a bummer but the scone made up for it. It had large chunks of candied ginger and was crusty on the edges and tender on the inside. My husband loved his quiche and I was able to snag a bite of my son's cookie. Tasted of brown butter and sea salt- . Haven't tried the caramel apple yet but looking forward to it. Incredible pie place!

Yelp
Finally a chance to check this place out! The outside display makes it quite easy to view and order. I ordered individual pies and here are the ratings: - Mile High Chocolate: 4/5 excellent solid pie but not as creative as the others. The presentation is excellent. - Southern Pumpkin Praline: 5/5 a unique blend of pumpkin and other fall spices that is well balanced. - Key Lime: 4.5/5 The lime is very sweet and acidic, which is great. Make sure you get the graham cracker crust in each bite or it can be a bit overwhelming - Quiche Lorraine: 4.5/5 A wonderful blend of smoky bacon and gruyere. The crust is better eaten when picked up and taking a bite. - White Cheddar, chives, caramelized onion Quiche: 5/5 A well balanced quiche that was light and delectable
google avatar

Sandra B.

Yelp
The shop is small but very cute; parking is a bit challenging but we were able to snag a spot next to the shop as others left. The 4 baked goods we purchased were delicious. Divinely sweet yet tart, custardy key lime mini pie - yes, please. And crusty, buttery, ooey gooey salted caramel chocolate chess mini pie make me want to come back and try more of their offerings. I'd like to try something savory next.
google avatar

Christine B.

Yelp
Everything here is amazing. I love the quiche and then all the dessert pies. Anything with peanut butter is great. The only issue is the parking situation. You have to try to find something on the street and that is pretty tough which is a shame. They have a lot available if you just show up but you can also order ahead.

Yelp
So we were so excited to stop in and we picked up a Flacky Apple and a Brown Sugar Pumpkin. First, the staff was NOT friendly. We were very happy to be there but we felt like a put out. When we got home we could not wait to dig into the pies and I started with the Brown Sugar Pumpkin which was absolutely delicious! Everyone else did Flacky Apple, yet I could sense the disappointment. My 2nd slice was the apple which was really not good. It tasted more like lemon pie then apple. It wouldn't be bad except it was $38. Anyway, I will say the pumpkin was worth it but not sure we will make this location our regular pie shop. Thanks for listening.

Yelp
Came here a twice, tried 2 of their quiches and a bunch of baked sweet goods. Enjoyed most items from here and just love the crusts on their goods. 1. summer corn and tomatoes quiche: pretty good. I loved it the first time I got it but the 2nd time my oven broke, it's not as good microwaved than using their recommended reheating method by baking 2. quiche lorraine: I found this quiche to be too greasy and too much bacon. 3. apple crumble pocket: really amazing. This store makes the best crust. I actually loved the crust parts that had less apple filling than the bites toward the inside that was heavy on apple 4. cookies: love the ring of crust, not as much the inside of the cookie This place is really popular! Got here 5 minutes after opening one Sunday morning and there were already 5 parties in line. Waited about 15 minutes before getting inside. Parking is a pain to find.

Yelp
Tiny shop on the corner with limited parking. I believe theres outside seating but there are four small tables on the inside and high top seating near the window. Pie selection rotated everyday or week im assuming. Theres 3 or 4 flavors offered for both savory and sweet. Quiche of the day was delicous(sausage with peppers and cheese) as well as the chicken pot pie. Crust was buttery and flakey. Ordered the salted caramel apple mini pie, delicous!!! And the chocolate chip cookies are huge. Soft on the inside but a good crust around the edges I would def return

Yelp
After two years, decided to try The Pie Life again. My wife dropped in about 3pm, & bought 2 mini Key Lime pies and a full size Quiche Lorraine. The key lime minipies were very good. The quiche Lorraine, however, had no bacon in it. None. If Pie Life has run out of bacon, just label it Plain, someone will buy it. Our evaluation was skewed by the false expectation of a Lorraine; the quiche was good, but...not what we expected & wanted. BTW there are no instructions at their website on how to reheat a refrigerated quiche: only "pies" . We followed the pies instruction (20min at 325F), then added another twenty minutes under a foil cover - worked pretty well. Quiche was good, just veeeery plain. Recommendation: do not drop in to the Pie Life. Order it in advance or fuggedaboutit.

Yelp
I have been searching for a delicious chicken pot pie for a while and I have found it here at Livin' the Pie Life! There was plenty of chicken and veggies, and it was a creamy filling. The flaky crust was really good. I brought the pie to a potluck and everybody loved it. I also tried an individual chocolate chess pie. Usually, I can handle sweet, but this was way too sweet. They run out of items pretty early in the day so if you need to pick something up for an event, you gotta do so earlier.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is an INCREDIBLE find. We wanted to celebrate National Peanut Butter lovers day so we contacted them in advance and they put peanut butter pie on the menu for the week. MAN DID THEY DELIVER! This was one of the best pies I've ever eaten!
google avatar

Grace K.

Yelp
Everything at Livin the Pie Life is exquisite! I have been coming here since the Spring and it is one of my favorite spots! I have had an array of their pies I have yet to dislike including Key Lime, Strawberry Rhubarb, and Sour Cherry, all had wonderful flavors and a tasty, buttery crust. Their cookies are also scrumptious and the best I've had in the area so far! Livin the Pie Life is a must!

Yelp
If you are in the mood for quiche or fresh, delicious, local-ingredient pie, this is the place to visit. Try coming on a weekday when there's less competition for the limited parking spots around the side. Regardless of when you visit, you'll get friendly service and fresh-baked goodness. I am looking forward to visiting again and working my way through the menu. On my first visit, two out of the three pies I got were stellar (sausage/jack/pepper quiche and salted caramel chocolate chess pie). Unfortunately, the key lime was a tad sweet for me (or perhaps not tart enough?), but it might be perfect for someone else out there. Also, although I loved the cup of green tea with hibiscus, I had a bit of sticker shock at the $4.50 price tag. Next time, I will stick with coffee or a cappuccino. But these are small quibbles; this is still a five-star experience. If you want to indulge your sweet tooth in Arlington, this is the place to be!

Yelp
Livin The Pie Life has some delicious pies in a cute friendly atmosphere, there is limited seating inside and out on their small patio. Parking is very limited, three or four spots on the side and parking on the adjacent street. I love the crust on the pies and also the fact that you can get some pies in individual sizes, there various sweet and savory pies available for breakfast or lunch. I have had to ask them to warm up pies on two different occasions, on my last visit I ordered chicken pot pie at the start of lunch and had to ask the staff to heat my pie up twice, the first time it went from cold to luke warm and finally on the second warm up request it cam up to temperature and was delicious. On that same visit I witnissed another patron making the same request. The verdict, very good pies that may not be heated properly.

Yelp
They were all out of everything I wanted, so I was Livin The Cry Life. After the tears were shed, I let out a big Livin The Sigh Life. But at least I knew Livin The Why Life. It was because of Thanksgiving. But what a turn off, not getting pies. My gf agreed, and now she's Livin The Dry Life. As it turns out, I wasn't a big fan of this place. Service was just okay - one of the girls was actually kind of rude to me, well excuse me for not knowing how popular you are - and prices are pretty high, even by NOVA standards. They sell out of a lot of pies very early - which is fine, except for my disappointment that I can really try any of the many things that I wanted to try - and more damningly, what I did try was fairly mediocre. That's the problem when you sell out of all your best stuff all the time, is that people that come later in the day will get the wrong idea - or is it the right idea. I will come back at some point to try some of the things that catch my fancy - but everything seems pretty average so far. Anyway this review is over so it's time to start Living The Kthxbye Life.

Yelp
This place had good food. However - their office hours and operations is very sporadic. They open too late, they always run out of their best stuff and they ask you to order days in advance. They are not customer centric and whoever runs their operations should think about how much more money then can make if they just provide what the customer wants. They have so many other pies left - but none of the good ones. The good ones normally sell out by 11am (and they open at 10am). Just make more of the bestsellers.

Yelp
Contrary to what the 24-hour news cycle will have you believe, there is a lot of good in the world. The chicken pot pie at Livin the Pie Life can be safely added to that list. I picked up the gorgeous pie on my way home one weekday afternoon, when the thought of making dinner after work was a non-starter. I was lucky to grab the last one available; by that time of the day, the lady behind the counter explained, they were usually out of their most famous pie. They also told me that it was made with 18 wholesome ingredients and gave me heating instructions to ensure a perfectly golden crust and hot filling in time for dinner. After 30 minutes, what came out of the oven was perfection: a creamy filling of chicken, carrots, peas, celery, rosemary and thirteen other ingredients that I can't recall at the moment, encased in a golden, flaky, buttery crust that was almost too pretty to slice into. Keyword: almost. Absolutely delicious! I will be back to try it again...and the Bailey's chocolate pie...and the pecan pie...ooh and all the quiches...and...the list goes on.

Yelp
I love this pie shop, and am simultaneously happy/sad that it is on the other side of town. It's tiny, but the staff is very friendly and welcoming. The parking, as others have acknowledged, is awful. My favorite pies here are not sweet, but savory. Their bacon mac-and-cheese hand pie is life changing. I always buy two. The crust is flaky and cheesy. The mac-and-cheese is perfectly browned and they do not skimp on the bacon. The curry beef pie is tasty as well, though I'd prefer a bit more seasoning. On the sweet side, their chocolate pecan is my favorite. It's not overly chocolatey, so you still get a great pecan flavor. I also enjoy the pumpkin praline, which is the best version I've had. If you get anywhere in the vicinity of Livin the Pie Life, you should definitely stop in.

Yelp
I've been driving by this quaint pie shop for months and finally stopped in. My husband and I arrived 20 minutes before closing to pick up a few slices. There was a limited selection remaining (so we were told) and we picked up a mile high chocolate slice and a cookies and cream slice. Both were delicious! My advice to yelpers, get here as early as possible so you will have plenty of choices!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious chocolate birthday cake I ordered for my wife. She is a chef and usually a tough critic of others' work. She LOVED this cake! Thanks!
