I loved this shop - I arrived just before a Louise Penny tour group and was able to get some nice pics! Great selection of LP books in many languages but also other nice items like games, stationery, and lots of great books of different types. Will return, for sure! Love indie bookshops but this one is magical! - Jennifer, Montreal.

I love the atmosphere and the country decor. It has a special charm and uniqueness about it. I haven't visited the bookstore in a while but I do remember their adorable golden retriever roaming around the store. They can process online orders for Montreal customers and I would much rather support small local Canadian businesses since I spent most of my childhood in the Brome Lake and Knowlton area. They also have the convenience of gift cards as well.

This is a spectacular book shop at the heart of the Eastern Townships. If you are a Louise Penny you must go to this shop, if you are a book fan you must go, and if you can read you really should go. Knowledge staff and wonderful selection.

If you haven’t had a chance to visit this wonderful little bookstore, I suggest you make it your next stop. They thrive to encourage local artists by dedicating a good portion of the store to authors, artists and photographers in the area. You can also purchase a book and read it right beside the river! They’ve set up a table with chairs for just this purpose.

As an avid reader of crime/mystery noviliste Louise Penny, i absolutely LOVED Brome Lake Books. They have a corner dedicated to her books. They sell merchandise based on her books. I loved it. Great customer service, and wide selection of books.

Danny was generous with his time, advising us about attractions in the area. We bought a T-shirt and a birthday card and the young woman helping us was great as well.

A perfect book store, with a special corner devoted to Louise Penny's books and Three Pines merch. We loved browsing and found gifts for friends and family, as well as new titles by authors we hadn't heard of before. We will definitely return if we have the opportunity to visit the area again!

Yelp
Whenever I am in Knowlton to visit my sister and want to surround myself with all things LOUISE PENNY, this is where I go to get my fix. They have magazines, all the current books, some gently used books , bookmarks, cute little goodies and AN ENTIRE CORNER DEDICATED TO ALL THINGS LOUISE PENNY How awesome is that???!!! You don't have to be an LP fan to enjoy this cozy little bookstore and if you're French-Canadien il y a des livres en français et les propriétaires parlent en français aussi. Across the street are three pine trees which were recently replanted. It's a lovely spot and the area has become a haven for Penny lovers from all over. Are you excited yet??!!

Yelp
What a treasure. You would be hard-pressed to find a dreamier bookstore -- large wood structure with one big room breaking off to small alcoves and large windows letting in the brilliant sunlight. Their collection is impressive for a smaller bookstore (cookbooks, fiction, mystery, nonfiction, cards, toys for kids) and they have much Louise Penny paraphernalia for fans of her works, which is why we came by in the first place. The staff were friendly and welcoming, giving plenty of time to browse and helping with some questions we had about the best Louise Penny-themed gift for a friend. I was also given a gift card here and the online ordering process has been smooth.

Yelp
Several articles allege that this bookstore inspired Myrna's bookstore in the Louise Penney "Gamache" series. And indeed there's a little alcove dedicated to the series. I love bookstores, and worry that e-books may make them vanish. If you're looking for new books, along with some Inspector Gamache goodies, like mugs, totes, and shirts, this is a fine spot for you. I'm fonder of used bookstores, and was kind of expecting that (solely based on my imagination and the articles talking about the inspiration for the literary bookstore), so perhaps I didn't do the place justice. The lady behind the counter was helpfully ordering a special book for someone, so clearly there's a personal touch. Stop by and judge the place yourself!

Yelp
There's not many independent bookstores left in this impossible world of ours. This one is a treasure! Very friendly and helpful fellow behind the counter who is conversant on many topics. There is an alcove dedicated to the world famous mystery writer, Louise Penny. She's a local! I could spend hours in any bookstore but I'd spend a few extra hours in this lovely space.

Yelp
I absolutely love this store! The owners and staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable, and I almost always find exactly what I'm looking for, the times where I can't find anything they will order it, and I've only ever waited a week!

Yelp
My Dad e-mailed this bookstore looking for book recommendations. We live in Pittsburgh, PA, USA, so there was no guarantee of a sale, but the owner still made time to e-mail him back and provide recommendations. Looking forward to my next business trip up north. I'll make it a point to buy....but until then, I hope my Canadian friends are supporting!
