I found this quaint spot when they first opened about 4 months ago. I decided after my first visit that I need to make it here when I am back in town. I’m here this weekend and stopped in for dinner tonight. And I’m glad I did. The food is locally sourced and so are the craft beers. My friends and I started with the cheese plate that was beautifully presented and a great way to start our meal. The pickled vegetables are a nice addition to the cheese selection, that is accompanied by an addictive fig jam. The toast is crispy and whether you go for the savory mustard with the cheese, or the sweet fig jam, you will wish there was more!
Our table loved our LK Burger, Chicken Sandwich, and Hangar Steak. The pasture raised burger has a bacon marmalade and aged cheddar on a really good bun. The chicken sandwich has a vinegar slaw and spicy mayo. Both have baby hemp greens and come with a choice of organic kettle fried chips or a salad. We had the chips and no regrets!! The Hangar Steak was so tender and flavorful. The cilantro chimichurri added a nice flavor. The fingerling potatoes were cooked just right and were accompanied with fresh asparagus.
We also tried one of the local craft beers and even though I can’t remember the name (sorry!) I did like it.
I’m looking forward to my next visit when their patio will be open.
The connection to a local story from the 1800’s adds to the ambiance. The decor is a blend of modern with the touches of the historic period and it makes for a relaxed atmosphere. Quiet enough to have a conversation but good music playing in the background.
