Google
Omg! The ice cream there was off-the-hook. I've literally never tasted anything better. It was recommended to us by a very nice woman we met at one of our stops in Pennsylvania. She asked where we were staying and immeditely recommended the shop to us. They had so many exotic flavors like Lucuma, Mamey, Guava, Tamarind, Passion fruit,...etc. to name a few. The prices were very reasonable and the portion you receive on your scoop is a great value. The customer service was warm and attentive. They use real fruit as well. I purchased a triple scoop of Passion Fruit, Blackberry Cream and Lucuma on a waffle cone. I took a picture of it before I dove in. Literally I was in ice cream heaven ! You will be as well . The flavors were outstanding. While licking I was already planning a return trip the next day for another triple scoop on a waffle cone. All in all I returned twice the next couple of days. I was hooked to say the least. I ordered 9 different flavors in all and every flavor was better than the last. Since then I've been raving about it to my family, friends and colleagues at work. I'll be heading back there very soon and this time I will definitely save some space every day in my stomach for Llama Ice Cream. I hope I wasn't too loquacious in this well deserved review ? Lol

We were in this cafe with my family once again, whenever we are in this area we always treat ourselves to delicious ice cream and a pleasant atmosphere. The ice cream is of excellent quality, thick and creamy. My favorites are coconut and lavender. 5 stars!

Google
Llama Ice Cream offers the most impressive variety of exotic fruit flavors I've come across. Every flavor I tried was exceptional, but the standout for me was the Mamey, absolutely unforgettable. I also had the chance to try the Peruvian Lucuma and Chirimoya, and both were equally incredible. Each scoop was vibrant, refreshing, and true to its unique origin. If I had the time, I’d happily sample every flavor they offer. I’m already looking forward to bringing friends and family back this summer for a sweet, one-of-a-kind treat. This spot is a must-visit for anyone who loves adventurous and delicious desserts.

Google
This place is a must visit. The place has such a nice vibe. We tried their tamarind, guava, and passion fruit flavors and all of them had great natural flavors. They have a large variety of options. Plenty of parking and seating area available. Would definitely visit next time I am in the Delaware Water Gap area.

Google
Such interesting flavors and homemade. It's creamy goodness! Great homemade chocolate shell, fresh waffle cones... if you're going to have ice cream, this is the place. Had the cherry (wonderful, real cherry) in a chocolate dipped waffle cone. Pure bliss!

Google
I tried the cappuccino and dulce de leche, which were both good! Huge serving size! Variety of flavors, it seems like the tropical flavors are what make this place special, but I didn’t try any of them. Was disappointed that tiramisu was on the menu but they ran out. This place was busy when we went on a Sunday afternoon during the 4th of July weekend, so seating was very limited.

Perfect for families, date nights, or solo treat-yourself moments, this ice cream haven is a must-visit. Five stars all the way!

Google
Absolutely incredible! The ice cream was decadent and authentic. I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the mango and passion fruit. I was also impressed by the creaminess and unique flavors. Also great for vegan or vegetarian ice cream lovers! I know I’ll be back here soon!

Yelp
This is the best ice cream I've ever had!!! The Peruvian spin on the icecream is what makes it top notch. Highly recommend

Yelp
The first time I came here in 2019, I loved it so much that I made it a staple on my Pocono trips. The place was cute, bright, lively, and the ice cream was TOP NOTCH!! The service was personal, intimate, and small town feel. I came back today, excited for what exotic flavors they had in store and to see how the store had improved since I know they've branched out a bit. The ice cream was still as I remembered. Delicious and flavorful with a feast variety from the usual suspects to Fig & Whiskey or Soursop. Stuff you can't get fresh anywhere! I chose the Cherimoya. FANTASTIC!!! When I first came, it was $3.50. Today, it was a little under $6 but a large scoop in a fresh waffle cone, I WON'T complain! It's worth it! Sadly though, the restaurant itself has gone downhill. Unkempt. Cramped. Dare I say, dingy. The brightness has dimmed. They used to have a HUGE room of tables for the customers but now, seating is mostly outside. It's too bad because because on a hot day, I hate for my ice cream to melt before I can eat it all.

Yelp
Visit this place! The exotic fruit ice cream flavors are incredible. Try something you've never had! Great vibes, too. 5 stars all the way.

Yelp
Llama Ice Cream is a gem, the real deal, homestyle ice cream made with love. If you are in this area looking for ice cream, this is what you want. The texture of the cream is decadent, with the best creative tropical flavors. The pricing is also extremely fair! :) The winter setup is more of a grab-n-go shop, but it looked like there would be a lot of indoor/outdoor seating in the summer. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Simply the best ice cream in the poconos. I was waiting for dinner next door at the slow as a glacier melting Peruvian restaurant and came in to cool my nerves. It was the best choice of the day! I love the flavors which are super unique and rare. Tamarind? Coconut? Sweet Avocado? Heck yeah! All of them are great. Value too...they serve large scoops, so it's worth the bang for your buck. And you can get 2-3 free samples to see what you like. Only down side is the ice cream melts fast in summer, but that means less preservatives!

Yelp
Our favorite was the fig and rum ice cream. The green tea was too weak as it did not taste like green tea but the chirimoya had a subtle and refreshing flavor. The waffle bowl was tasty, hard, and did not get soggy with 3 huge ice cream scoops in it. The staff was fast with service and gave generous scooping of ice cream as well! Cute ice cream shop with picnic benches under shade out front

Yelp
Very clean, delicious ice cream. I'm very kind owners will definitely be bringing the family more often.

Yelp
First of all, my friend recommended it to me. Secondly, I saw an article featuring this ice cream shop on the list of top places to visit near the East Stroudsburg/Delaware Water Gap area. So, I definitely had this on my must-do list when I came to visit PA. Overall, I was quite impressed based on my first visit. Llama Ice Cream really delivers when it comes to their variety of ice cream flavors. It has a bit of everything for everyone to enjoy. It's really quite unique seeing that they have a few different Hispanic/Peruvian flavors that I've never seen in other ice cream shops before. Some of these were exotic flavors that I've never heard of and/or tried. Thankfully, the staff was very gracious and let me sample of a few of them that peaked my interest. I personally got to try guanabana and lucuma to name a few. I ultimately opted for one regular scoop of the lucuma on a waffle cone. After I came out of the store and started eating it, I kept repeating that I was really satisfied with my choice. Everything was perfect - to the size of the scoop, the sweet taste of lucuma and the total price that I paid for everything. I loved it and was sad/surprised that they don't have more locations... I would definitely recommend others to try this place and advise you to be adventurous and try different flavors that you've never tried before. You might even be surprised yourself!

Yelp
Before our recent trip, I bookmarked Llama because it looked like one of the best ice cream places in the Greater Pocono area. I'm guessing the owners have a connection to Peru given some of the ice cream flavors and the llama name and art. The flavors definitely have a different vibe. I saw less common flavors like Mango, Dulce de Lece and Amarena Cherry. I did not see flavors like Cookie Dough or Cookies and Cream, although there were plenty of familiar flavors. You can get a cone or sundae and they have numerous topping options. I went twice on my trip, which says something because I like to explore different places. I ordered the three "less common" scoops referenced above one day. The other day I ordered a small sundae with Tiramisu ice cream, caramel and mini churros. The ice cream had a creamy smooth gelato texture. The flavors were good and interesting. Service was friendly. Plenty of outdoor seating. Four Stars

Yelp
I love trying new things, and some of the flavors here and new to nearly anyone from this area. Getting to taste soursop ice cream is something totally different for me and something I won't soon forget. It tasted like an apple and a strawberry conceiving a baby fruit on a Caribbean beach. The cherry was also super excellent. Creamy and delicious and a strong taste of TRUE cherry flavor. I would get this again 10/10 times. For about $6 you get two nice sized scoops of handmade ice cream, how can you argue that?? Llama Ice Cream - Didn't Suck! Yelp
We try to stop here whenever we drive that way. It's away from the busy area so the road seemed deserted, esp when already dark, but once you get there, there's usually a lot of people. They even added lights and more tables outdoors. Layout of the store is also different since the last time we were there and many more flavors. Big serving for the price. I haven't tasted the actual fruits but I usually get the tropical ones. I tried the mamey and lucuma again recently. Sweet, reminded me of flan, caramel-ly. Lucuma had a harder texture and Mamey was more frothy (maybe melting?). Very friendly service.

Andrea G.

Yelp
The ice cream at Llama Ice Cream is amazing. They have so many unique flavors . I had two scoops - one of banana cream and one scoop of coconut and both were delicious

Yelp
Great service. Exotic flavors. Nice seating area out front, for us that are from the city, it is nice to sit outside and enjoy the greens fields, light traffic and quietness of the suburbs with a tasteful ice cream on your hands!

Yelp
This is a special and unique ice cream and smoothies shop on River Road, just below some Club Wyndham Shawnee resort units on the way to Delaware Water Gap. The ice cream is made in the Poconos, in small artisanal batches from the freshest ingredients (including milk from local cows). While there's a wide variety of flavors to choose from -- I'm estimating at least 40, we were particularly intrigued by the less common (in northeastern PA, at least) flavors. After tasting a few samples, my husband went with two scoops (in a cup; cones also available) -- lucuma (which the restaurant described as a subtropical fruit native to the Andes with a mellow sweetness similar to caramel and a sweet potato) and dulce de leche (caramelized milk), while I enjoyed the soursop guanabana (a green tropical fruit whose flavor has been described as a mix between strawberry and pineapple) and mamey (a football-shaped fruit with red salmon flesh and an aromatic scent). In all cases, the ice creams were VERY rich, creamy, smooth, and tasty. The flavors were subtle, and not overbearing. One scoop of ice cream is $4, or 2 scoops for $6. (Sunday, July, 31, 2022). Check operating days/times on their website as it seems that they are mostly open on (extended) weekends. Plentiful parking and outdoor seating. Staff were friendly. At least 4 more cars full of patrons came in while we were enjoying our ice creams.

Yelp
Great place for Peruvian ice cream! So many different flavors that you wouldn't find in an ordinary ice cream place. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Adam S.

Yelp
Wowwwww! This is insanely good ice cream. That may seem like a strong statement but the tamarind and cherry ice creams are quite possibly the best ice creams I've ever eaten. The owner is incredibly friendly and the prices are totally reasonable. It's well worth a trip here if you're within a 30 minute radius. Wish I could bring a bunch home!

Yelp
Want ice cream flavors that are interesting and mot boring? Come here! I had my sites set on trying this place when I read that they have flavors like mamey and guanabana/soursop and other flavors from fruits native to Latin countries. This shop has received a lot of attention and deservedly so. We called ahead a little worried that we would not make it before closing, and the owner assured us he would wait for us. Sampled the passionfruit and lucuma, which was interesting. Ended up with mamey and guanabana. I wanted to try cherimoya/custard apple, but it wasn't available. Anyway, the owner was great and I look forward to coming again when we pass through town.

Yelp
Cozy, friendly and great ice cream. Ice cream is great all year long so we were happy to have found this spot

Yelp
I'm obsessed with this place. What an awesome little ice cream shop with so many packed flavors! I'm a sucker for trying new flavors so when I saw all those tropical flavors they have (tamarind, guava, passion fruit, etc), I wanted to try all of them. The ice cream taste fresh and delicious, I'm a big fan already and can't wait to come back and try more flavors!
google avatar

Stephanie T.

Yelp
A cute little ice cream shop with interesting flavors that you must stop by to try if you're by the Poconos! There is something for everyone whether it's going for the classic scoops or if you decide to be adventurous to try some exotic flavors. I asked for samples to try a few exotic flavors like passion fruit and soursop before deciding what to get. I got the lavender and soursop ice cream and enjoyed the lavender more.

Jeanette B.

Yelp
Amazing tropical flavors from the global South plus plenty of regular favorites. They also offer empanadas!

Jacquelyn G.

Yelp
I Loved the flavors and friendly staff! Lots of parking and space as well as kid-friendly. A stamp in my future trips to PA.
google avatar

Mark E.

Yelp
Good ice cream in flavors you rarely see. Lots of outdoor seating. Great place to take the kids on a summer day!

Bret S.

Yelp
Nice people. Ice cream isn't that good. Melts too fast and tastes like they use flavored syrups.
google avatar

Perry S.

Yelp
Long lines over priced product and nothing to say this is a wow factor. Went a few times to see if the experience would be different and it was not. Still carvel remains number one and d q next. I like to support local businesses but they seem to want to drain the tourists dry.
google avatar

Bethany K.

Yelp
We were visiting friends in Pa, and this parlor was highly recommended, and I am so thankful we came! They offer such a wide, and unique variety of flavors -- I stuck with my tried and true, coconut - it was freshly flavored with bits of coconut. Others enjoyed flavors of guava, passion fruit. Such a fun place to have discovered! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Avery A.

Yelp
I had a pint of Llama Ice Cream at home and was excited to see there was a storefront I could visit. I stopped in with w group of friends. It wasn't busy at all for a Sunday. We ordered right away. I went with the lucuma and passionfruit flavors. Both were really good. Everyone I was with enjoyed their flavors as well. Creamy and the flavors are unique. Good to experience new flavors. Outside there were areas to sit and enjoy the ice cream. They also had pints and quarts for sale. All and all a good experience and I would recommended stopping in if you're in the Poconos area.
google avatar

Vanessa L.

Yelp
Alongside the Water Gap is Llama. This husband and wife owned operation exists next to a restaurant along a peaceful, narrow road that might be a little challenging after dark. There's seats outside and inside seating with a children's area. Simple yet cozy. Plenty of ice cream flavors, gelato and Peruvian flavors that pair well together. Being a lavender ice cream fan, however, I naturally had to get that one on top of a more Peruvian flavor which is what we came for. It's perhaps the smoothest ice cream I've savored in this area! The service is very amicable and helpful, you're welcome to sample as you like with an assortment of waffle cones for that perfect photo finish or just for fun!
google avatar

Carolyn R.

Yelp
Wow this is some delicious ice cream. The exotic tropical flavors are super unique and the staff happily let us try samples until we landed on our choices. I got the passionfruit which was the perfect mix of creamy with a hint of tartness. My Colombian husband had a mix of Mamey and Chiromoya which was for him a fun trip back to the flavors of his childhood. Fun decor and a nice place to stop. Perfect compliment to the delicious Ecuadorian restaurant next door.
google avatar

Amanda Z.

Yelp
If you are into tropical fruity ice cream, this is the place to go! Very unique flavors with a strong taste.
google avatar

Lucy P.

Yelp
Adorable ice cream shop with a friendly staff. Their flavors of ice cream are a nice mix of exotic and the usual. I like that they will let you have a sample to try. I would definitely come back if in the area.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
We just happened to pass this and decided to stop. What a great decision! The flavors all sounded amazing, so many unique offerings like passion fruit and cheramoya and lavender. My bf got a standard mint choc chip, which was great, but I got a scoop of guava on a sugar cone and am now obsessed. It was delicious. Covid precautions are in place - distance markers in line, plexiglass between employees and customers, and contactless payment. Picnic tables are available outside. We will definitely try to stop here again next time we're in the area.
google avatar

Cindy M.

Yelp
[710] This ice cream shop is so cute! So glad I followed yelpers and stopped in this location. It's conveniently located across from an elementary school on a busy road. They have a play room... various tables inside and out. We had ice cream and it was very tasty. There were a ton of topping of which to choose from. The staff was friendly and plenty of parking. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Joshua U.

Yelp
I just went there for the first time. I had guava ice cream and it was delicious! So many fun flavors. Fun place to hang out! Definitely worth visiting!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great ice cream spot in the area. They have unique flavors like Quinoa honey, Guava, Passion fruit, Dulce de leche, Blood orange,Tiramisu, Tamarind, Lucuma, Chirimoya.... and they're all rich and delicious (I've tried almost all of them). My favorites are probably quinoa honey and passion fruit. The last time I visited, Jhonny attended to me and my family and he provided excellent friendly service. They have their own parking lot and there's a few tables set up aside so you're able to enjoy your ice cream before driving off. Will keep coming back whenever I'm in the area.
google avatar

Lad B.

Yelp
Stopped in while traveling back home. Very nice place with great parking. The staff was very friendly, pleasant and accommodating. They offered samples of any flavor. The variety is overwhelming. They have a great selection. Prices are very high. Toppings are extra. My 7 year old had one scoop of chocolate and was disappointed with the taste. Very little flavor. I had a scoop of banana which was creamy and somewhat tasty. The inside is very clean and organized. They offer outdoor seating. Covid protocols are in place.
google avatar

Esther L.

Yelp
This is a fantastic ice cream shop. It's one of the best ice creams I've ever had. I'll be dreaming about it for awhile.
google avatar

Ella B.

Yelp
Cute little place, great ice cream, friendly lady at the counter. They have a little room, that reminded me of a daycare that you can sit in and eat the ice cream (bc it was cold outside). We will stop by again next time we're in the area.
google avatar

Sherene N.

Yelp
This place was cool. Little art in the back room and true Mexican inspired flavors to pick from. Not many topping nor waffle cones available but I'd still come for the dulce de leche and soursop ice cream.
google avatar

Estefany Z.

Yelp
Oh my goodness. I freaken love love love Dulce De Leche and they have that flavor of ice cream here. The ice cream here is so darn good. The Dulce De Leche ice cream cannot be compared to any other ice cream; it is so darn delicious. My sister ordered the tamarind ice cream (mind you she is not a ice cream person and on top of that she is also a picky eater), and she went for a second round. That in itself warranted the 5 stars. But really, the ice cream is phenomenal, service is great. The setup is a little strange because folks tend to crowd up at the main entrance but it's not that big of deal. Hands down, probably one of the best ice creams I have had.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
We were brought here by locals and I have to admit this is one of the best ice creams I've had recent years. What a pleasant surprise! There were 12 of us so we basically tried everything on the menu. They've got quite a few exotic flavors that I've never had before. My favorite is the soursop. Will definitely come back next time we are in town!

Jacqueline M.

Yelp
By far the best ice cream and shakes you can enjoy. Service is friendly. We were on holiday and this place was highly recommended.
google avatar

Curt S.

Yelp
The Best ice cream ever!!! So many flavors and the let you sample them! The staff is great!!
google avatar

Ricardo A.

Yelp
OMG! The ice cream is to die for! They hand make small batches nearly every day. You can sample all of the flavors before making a decision. They had a great variety of exotic tropical fruit flavors all made with real fruit. I tried the tamarind, passion fruit, mango, guava, coconut, sour sop, fig and rum, and a few others I can't really remember right now. They also have traditional flavors like cookies and cream and strawberry. They have 3 different cones to choose from as well as 2 different cup sizes. They also sell food. I had the strawberry filled/infused churros which were made fresh for me and were amazing! Would highly recommend! They have plenty of outdoor seating and it's right next to a Peruvian restaurant in case you also wanted to have dinner. I highly recommend it!
google avatar

Doreen L.

Yelp
Hands down to the best ice cream ever! I tasted plenty of them, then dared to try the exotic one. My fav was the Lucuma; it slides smoothly off my palates. My son got the mint choc, but after trying the passion fruit, I made him get a scoop of that, as well! Of course, he couldn't resist! Plus, the customer service is too personable! And the work ethic spoke straight to my ethos. I love folks to treasure a good day of rest! I'll be back! Hopefully on a day I can try the authentic Peruvian cuisine, as well
