L.L.Bean Flagship

We were recommended to visit here, I knew that it would be large, but we were very surprised when we arrived, and there were multiple buildings. We enjoyed walking around to the different buildings, and the staff were very friendly. A fun place to visit if you’re in the area. you can purchase something and then have it shipped to you as well.

This is an amazing Maine institution from choices of clothing sporting gear, guns rods, bikes to kitchen, camping and house goods. The shoes are inventive and brilliant quality. The winter wonderland is definitely worth the visit. It is in the very quaint shopping town of Freeport, Maine.

The L.L.Bean Flagship Store is always a great experience. The store is spacious, well laid out, and fun to explore, whether you’re shopping or just browsing. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the quality of the products is consistently excellent. It’s a must-visit spot in Maine and a place we enjoy going back to again and again.

Large shopping area with currently 3 large structures that make up the LL Bean Flagship stores with a smaller outlet store across the street. The tent is currently being used while the main store is under construction. There is a large selection of each item in all sizes available with so many colors to choose from. Various staff everywhere to assist with any question you might have. Multiple changing rooms to try on the items you select. Free parking for the entire shopping area is a 5 minute walk from LL Bean and right across the street.

It was fun to visit and look around - the greeters/ambassadors were friendly and everywhere, and the couple photo-ops with boots were nice - but I wish there was more to do/see, like a museum or exhibit of old products (or did I miss it?). It was just a lot of people shopping at full price. I should’ve read up more what to expect and should’ve started at the L.L. Bean Outlet across the street.

This was my first time visiting the area & I was told I HAD to go to L.L. Bean. I liked the vibe of this place. While it's a large selection spread among many buildings, it had a classy, classic feel to it. Not the same as if you'd go to another box store for the outdoors/camping/hunting/fishing. The staff was friendly an attentive, but not overly pressing. Everything was clean and had a tidy and respectful vibe to it. A local friend shared with us that she grew up in town right where their amphitheater is now. It was exactly where her house stood as a child and she was able to show us how things were laid out decades ago. It was neat to see. It took about an hour to go through all of the stores, but that was without looking at each section of every store. If you're a big shopper, you might want to plan an afternoon to go. The plus side is the restrooms are very clean.

Excellent selection of LL Bean's best and most popular styles and items. Cool looking icons and statues adorn the campus.

LL Bean. Great area. Employees are super friendly. Plenty of parking. Depending on the day they have fun activity for the kids and adults. They still have a fair return policy. In the winter they have hot chocolate on hand. They are currently updating one of the stores to make it look better, but should have zero effect on your shopping experience. Plenty of nice bathrooms too.

The first LL Bean building we came upon is their Bicycle specialty shop. With all the renovations LLBean is doing to create a bigger better campus of their brand, it was cool to see the different type of services, tune ups, bicycles for entry or experienced riders as well as the new electronic bikes. Definitely out of my price range for a casual biker, but if we were to actually get serious about it i would definitely consider finding one thru them. The staff was nice, one gentleman upstairs gave us a pamphlet and gave us a visual tour of what each building of theirs housed and specialized in. Being the first time down there, that was very helpful. Bathrooms are also located on the second floor.

We witnessed a hit and run in the parking lot just as we arrived so we spent the first 30 minutes of our visit in the phone with police. Obviously I would never hold that against the store or let it affect their rating. However, when I went inside and explained to the greeter that a vehicle had been hit and asked if she wanted to check whether the victim was one of their employees, she said that employees typically don't park in that lot, customers do, and seemed very unconcerned. When I said I just wanted to let someone know in case the victim came inside and could she tell them that I called the police and gave them the person's license plate, the employee asked me if I wanted her to call a manager out. I was just really put off by that as this is the first point of contact for people entering the store and I just genuinely wanted to try and help. We did spend some time in the store and in the compound. I like that they have an entire section where you can customize products and gifts and have them embroidered. I haven't seen that before and I thought it was really neat. I didn't care for any of the products that they were offering at that time which qualified for the embroidery, but if that's something you're looking for, they offer it here. They also had dog items and the store is dog friendly. We brought our pup in with us but again she just didn't find any toys that were the right size or that she was interested in. The trip here was kind of a bust for us but I can see why some people might enjoy shopping here. We were told by another traveler that this is a great place to stop for deals, but I didn't see many of those either. There's a campus comprised of multiple buildings and that was a bit confusing. It also seems like it would be easier just to have everything under one roof, but that's just me personally.

Heads up: L.L. Bean's huge retail store is now under serious construction for at least another year and its products dispersed to half a dozen buildings scattered around central Freeport. It is no longer convenient in any way, requires a bit too much walking, and is missing a lot of the pleasure that came (to us, at least) with visiting the "big" store. We were really looking for some summer and fall items, which are now stashed under a very big tent labeled "Camp Bean." We found the tent's stock to be much smaller than expected, fewer choices in sizes, and a paucity of helpful clerks. Not to mention we had to do a lot of walking to find it. Other stores part of the Bean empire are a bit more accessible to pedestrians, but there's not much joy in so much walking around. There's still lots of parking for the crowds even with the summer season underway. But we found it easiest to park our car at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn where we stayed and then make a short stroll up to the stores. There's just so much that was a part of the big store that we didn't find on this trip. We were disappointed (as if you didn't already guess that from what we've written). But we also were distressed to learn the Jameson Tavern next door to Bean has recently closed. We used to enjoy a trip there for a cool drink and tasty food while taking a shopping break. No more. We'll be back here -- we remain fans of Bean -- but definitely not until construction is done.

I ordered something online to give as a gift and he wanted to exchange it for another size. They want $6.50 to return it. No. So I had to order ANOTHER pair of $60 pants and ask him bring me in person the too big ones so that I can bring them back to the store. So heads up gift giving is a very difficult process.

LL Bean's flagship store is currently being rebuilt , but they do have the home store, fishing & hunting and large enclosed tent open during the renovations. The renovations are expected to be completed end of 2026. The stores have an extensive variety of L.L. Bean products. In the tent they did have discounted items. There was plenty of staff offering to assist with questions or to find an item. It's worth stopping in and seeing all the items they have to offer.

If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping by here. There are four huge stores, each with a different specialty and different things to look at! It was pretty expensive, so if you want to shop, I would recommend you go to the outlet which is literally about a five minute walk. Very cool place to visit though!

I am blown away with the customer service at L.L.Bean. I made a purchase online and needed to return and exchange twice to get the right fit (my fault, not theirs) and the process was seamless. The return was complicated because I wanted to buy another size and compare both items before I returned one. I originally paid a sale price and I wanted to keep that price. The sale was over, so I needed some help. Tom, the gentleman who helped me was extremely pleasant and there was absolutely no "answering ridiculous questions." He asked only a couple of things to verify my call and had all the rest of the info at his fingertips. Exactly the way it is supposed to work but never does at other sellers! I did this twice and each time, Tom was so efficient and so nice. Everything you buy at L.L.Bean is guaranteed for a year. I'm a customer for life.

I have bought LL Bean stuff for years but had never been to the main store in Maine. We were in that area and took advantage of it. the only negative is the parking... the place was slammed!! I had no idea that there would be several buildings to choose from... Home Items, Clothing, Toys, etc. We spent most of the time in the clothing area. There is so MUCH stuff in there and they had a wide variety of sizes... like tall options. The staff there were incredibly helpful... and there were a lot of them. Everyone wanted to help you find what you want. Bean stuff is expensive but I have coats and jackets that have lasted years and will last more as long as they are taken care of. I doubt I will be up that way again but if so i will try to have more time to look around.

Can't come to Maine and not go to Beans. You have to take a picture of yourself with the big boot. And everyone knows it. There was a line of people waiting there turn to take a picture. Huge selection of anything you can think of. School backpacks, jackets, camping gear, just so much to look at. Prices are high, but the quality is really good. I have winter jackets that are 10 years old, and look brand new. Of course I take care of my things too, but the quality helps stand the test of time and washes. Today they had s'mores out front with a fire pit where you could roast your own marshmallows. Always a fun time at L.L. Bean

Don't bother if you are a tall woman. This store does not carry ANY tall sized womens clothing, none. I asked several salespeople. Disappointing, as the LL Bean hiking pants are a favorite, in a tall size. Mens size talls are quite plentiful, even a 3X tall for a guy.....

I don't know, maybe it's because I'm a Maine kid, but LL Bean is a brand we've always had in our lives, has always been reliable, and that we trust. I grew up only using their backpacks for school; and, now, I only use their hiking backpacks/poles for my adventures into the woods. Do I own a pair of Bean Boots? I sure do! They're mens, though, because they don't make womens shoes wide enough for my enormous flat feet (seriously). The service here is - and is known for being - both friendly and out-of-their-way helpful (we recently spent an hour with an employee who helped us find the perfect chelsea boot for my partner). Visiting the flagship store is an adventure, and that's what this review is actually focused on. Because you should definitely visit... but during their seasonal programs (which, even as a local, I get excited for)! If you're visiting January through June, ignore this. But, if you're visiting: 1. In the summer: they have a huge line-up of things to do on their campus in the summer including free concerts (with well known bands), yoga in the park, art in the park, storytime for kiddos, interactive demos of their products, movie nights, and more. 2. In October: they partner with Camp Sunshine for a Pumpkin Festival and have literally THOUSANDS of jack-o-lanterns on display, live music, a kid's costume parade, etc. The date changes, but it's usually mid-October! 3. At the holidays: oooooooh, we love the LL Bean campus in December! Their Northern Lights (which I think usually runs mid-November to January 1st) event features thousands and thousands of twinkling lights, reindeer, the opportunity to meet Santa, free hot cocoa (though I wish they'd have non-dairy/plant-based options!), a model train, and winter activities (sometimes "ice skating"). We go several times during the month and just sit on the warming benches, looking at all the lights. It's lovely. Thanks, LL Bean, for caring about/engaging with/treating your local community!

So, I'm not an L.L. Bean person. Their clothes are not my aesthetic and I'm not much of an outdoors person so this was never really one of my brands. That being said, this particular LLB caught my eye - mainly because it's the mothership and I wanted to see how it compared to the smaller stores we have in NY. Since we were wandering around Freeport anyway, we decided to go inside and check it out. It's unfair to say that the flagship LLB store is just a store - it's actually a campus that stretches across a large area with separate stores for home, hunting/fishing, bike/boat/ski, and an outlet. We focused on the main store, which itself is huge - tons of selection spread across two floors. It's almost hard to wrap you head around how much there is; I spent a good 10 minutes in the tote bag section alone. I didn't end up purchasing anything this trip, however I did spend some time outside with the huge boot and backpack posing for photographs. Even though this isn't my brand, I would find it really hard to not find something here if you had intentions to purchase. The place is bustling, and if you're in the market for some LLB merch, this is the spot to go.

While visiting family, I saw the L.L. Bean catalog and being that the store was less than half an hour away, we stopped in the day before I left. The service was exceptional. They had a large selection of jeans in so many styles and sizes. Thankfully I was able to narrow it down to three and then pick one quickly. The quality of the pair of jeans was good but they were pricey.

What a treat it was to visit the LL Bean mecca! I swear, there are more employees here than I've ever seen in one store, all eager to help you find whatever your heart desires--whether it's a new pair of boots or an inflatable kayak. You need it? They've got it. But here's the funny part: If you're traveling with a group, especially one where everyone's sporting grey hair, good luck trying to find them if you lose them in the store. I swear, it's like playing a game of hide and seek with a dozen LL Bean mannequins. So, bring a whistle or a flare gun if you want to regroup after exploring this wilderness wonderland! ...and they know their audience - LOTS of woman's room stalls

Slowly becoming fast fashion brand with Wal mart quality. LL would be rolling in his grave. Ask the company about where they make their wicked good slippers. They got 14 year olds making them out in Myanmar.

Stopped by to buy for a 2 t wanted him to have the Maine look. The Freeport store is huge! Sales associates were very helpful too. A plethora of clothes and outdoor gear for every size with good sales . An experience to see the vast products but most can be ordered online.values can be had here too.

After hauling all my friends from away here, I am pretty exhausted from doing the same thing over and over and waiting for my friends or family to look at freakin *everything* but, I think that's a testament to the majestic brilliance of the LL Bean store. They really do have almost everything. The hunting entrance is the best way to bring in guests, in my opinion. The 'Maine cabin' theme really does impress, with all the guns and mounted heads. Even though I sort of have to groan under my breath each time I bring people here, I do usually end up purchasing something. They really do make nice stuff, and obviously if you're an outdoors lover. Before I moved to Maine, I had maybe one item from LL Bean, but now I'm showing my 'current city' pride by amassing a bunch of clothes and accessories from them. Not just clothes, but they sell almost every hunting and camping accessory you can think of, and entire sections for men, women, and kids. On my recent visit, I brought my Danish friend who undoubtedly has viking genes, and was super excited to see how many items of clothing were available in "tall" Great store to check out. Freeport is definitely a tourist town, so I would say it is a "must visit" if you're on vacay, and if you're local... well, you know.

Was so sad to see they are redoing the trout pond. That aside there is no other outdoor store like LL Bean. Plan to spend the whole day exploring all the different stores they have. Of course the main store is huge and full of outdoor gear from fishing, hunting camping and more. I absolutely love the home store which I could have spent another hour wandering through. Lots of cool stuff!

L.L. Bean products are great but I am disappointed in the customer service. I bought 2 end tables (over $300.00 total) but never got them. My credit card was charged and the representative admitted that they never sent them (no tracking number). But their allowable time to register a complaint had expired so they kept my money. It's just not right.

LL Bean replaced my Nautica Men's Trail Model Rain Jacket several years after I purchased it because the lining had started peeling. I really admire that they stand by their products. That's how you created customer loyalty!

Came here just to see the boot but they had a solid sale going on when we were here. Staff was helpful in navigating as this store is huge and we were able to get some base layers here!

The LL Bean flagship store is worth the trip. Well, at least from CT it is. I was there Black Friday and as expected it was very busy. But they had plenty of people working so it was manageable and the checkout lines moved pretty quickly. There's a separate store for home products so the campus is quite large. As I write this review they are undergoing significant renovations so it's a bit messier than normal. An employee told me that they wouldn't be completed until 2025. The small cafe they had downstairs is now closed, which is unfortunate because was pretty good. I'm told there will eventually be a bigger restaurant as part of the renovations. If you know LL Bean then you're familiar with the clothes they sell. Stuff isn't inexpensive but generally well made. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a fun place and worth a visit.

I am their sunglasses. The protective/reflective coating on the glasses rubbed off from cleaning. I only used water and a soft cloth. I rarely used them due to it was a birthday present and used them on weekends. I tried to warranty them but it was just past the year mark and I would have to send them back on my postage and they couldn't guarantee it would be returned. So F it. Not buying their "American " owned products.

If you're looking for anything LL Bean, look no further. Beware though, it can be incredibly busy as multiple tour busses bring literal loads of people throughout the day to shop. Get yourself a coffee sample to help tolerate the extreme volume of people around you.

Always a 5 star experience especially at 11 pm when quiet. Most highly recommended at late night. Staff are so nice and helpful. They should offer free coffee after 11 for night owls.

My mother would mail order my winter boot from L.L.Bean since 1964 and they were always comfortable and indestructible. I just was up in Freeport, Maine at the main store and I was a bit underwhelmed with the lack of selection, service and service staff . That said the Outlet store had its able and plentiful staff like always. Beans products are always top quality! The main store is pricey , the outlet is more reasonably priced. I bought my dog a life vest for the lake two years ago at $39.99 and lost it. This year the same vest was $59.99. Then I spent 40 minutes to find someone to ring it up. There was also only 1 Large on the rack. M, S and XS were plentiful.

Check out the sales racks for bonus discounts. Make sure to check out the massive LL Bean shoe sculpture at the main store entry. If you are a fan of L.L. Bean products, you must check out their stores in Freeport Maine. I first walked into their fishing, and hunting store, which was connected to the retail store. I could not believe how massive, and how much merchandise was in these stores. It was unbelievable. I then stepped outside and directly across was the LL Bean Home Goods store which had some absolutely beautiful home furnishings.From there I then walked across from that store to the L.L. Bean bike, boat, and ski store. Thinking I was done I walked across the street, and seen the L.L. Bean outlet store. A total of five different L.L. Bean stores. If you love L.L. Bean it is well worth spending time here.

Stopped into the flagship store to take a peek. The store was very busy (a bit too much for me) but appeared clean and from the conversations I heard the sales staff were very accommodating. Not much more to say about it - the store occupies multiple buildings so it's more like a campus or compound. Fun to take photos in front of the giant "Duck boot. "

On my wife's birthday last week, Thursday October 2nd, I went to the LL Bean website to order an email gift card that promised to be delivered to my wife's email account within two to four hours. I got notification that stated my credit card was charged, I had an order number and her email address was correct. Nothing happened, she got no email, no notification, nothing in trash or spam folders etc. This morning October 6th, I contacted their help desk and eventually got Kevin online who took the order number. and within a few minutes said something like 'we sent the email, you say you didn't get it - resent - 2 to 4 hours'. That response angered me, Kevin clearly took no accountability, and offered no apology. He just signed off, conversation over. A normal company would have dug a little more as to what happened..... and, forgive me for this, I was very upset that my wife did not get her birthday present on her birthday. Kevin clearly didn't care about any of that. This will never happen again.

The customer service is the best. Here's why. I'm shopping in the outlet store, my arms are full of incredible marked down items and poof a store employee saw me and offered to bring my items to the checkout counter. Yes please. Next we go to the LLBean home store. I love all the linens and goodies in this store. I'm in line checking out with my flannel sheet set and delicious jams. I use my bean bucks and after I payed she gave me a $10.00 gift card. I couldn't thank her enough. I could just keep writing about all the incredible employees we met that day of shopping. Looking forward to my next visit.

Bottom Line: Massive store selling clothing for the whole family, outdoor gear, stuff for dogs, home goods, luggage, bikes, hunting and fishing gear and plenty more. I expected the flagship L.L. Bean store to be big and impressive but wow, this place is massive! So massive that there is actually a map of the L.L. Bean campus which includes four to five buildings depending on how you count them. On the main site there is a building for clothing and other stuff which is connected to a building for hunting and fishing. Then there is a separate building for home décor and a separate building for bike, boat and ski gear. A block or so away there is a building that is the outlet. So yeah, lots to see and shop! And if you need a break, there is the 1912 Cafe and another Coffee House. I spent most of my time looking at luggage and women's clothing. It was so nice to shop the full collection of L.L.Bean gear and clothing. Everything was nicely organized and they seemed to have every size of every color. I am sure there are exceptions but I totally found what I was looking for which never seems to happen at any store. I also spent some time gawking at the fun displays. How could I not? I bought a few things and was on my way after about an hour. Overall, this was a fun experience.

Ordered a big Xmas gift online in early December to have under the tree at my family's house. It was Well within the time frame to be there by Xmas. For some reason that no one in the company can explain, the order wasn't processed for a full WEEK and then sat around another full week before being shipped out!! Of course it didn't get here by Xmas. So needless to say I was very embarrassed on Xmas morning in front of my family and the customer "service" people are offering a minuscule percent off as recompense for utter incompetence. If it weren't Xmas with a big presentation of the presents it wouldn't have been such a big deal but the fact that no one has ANY explanation for why it took 2 weeks from my order to the shipping and are just saying WHOOPS and taking no responsibility stinks. They used to be known for good customer service. I am done. Last LL Bean order for me.

This is a sporting goods mega store. They have everything you could want for every different sport, in both men's and women's clothes My friend has a pair of their slippers which are stylish and very comfortable.

Amazing LL Bean! It beaned so hard. Like a bass pro shops but not the same and clothes!

The worst customer service. I set up an account with my email. Somehow the account is listed under my husband's name who doesn't shop at LL Bean. I contacted IT and was told that my husband's name could not be removed and person didn't know where my husband's name came from. I was told to open a NEW email address with my name on it. In other words, get a separate email address just for LL Bean.

I bought sheets and extra pillowcases - over $250, but LL Bean had a good reputation so I felt okay about it. About 18 months later, the bottom sheet not only showed signs of wear, it actually tore! I have had my own household for over 50 years. I have never had a sheet wear out or tear! They last and then I donate them and they last some more. (This is my only set of sheets, and the most expensive sheets I have ever bought.) I asked LL Bean for some kind of compensation or partial refund or exchange. I would have had to send the sheet in, at my expense, and after buying more sheets so I could have something on the bed. Every answer in my email exchange was the same, and in one I could even see the cut and paste markings. They would not help me. Then, about 3 months later, the top sheet tore too! I won't do business with them again, nor will I recommend them. Also terrible customer service.

I am a huge fan of L.L. Bean. My wife gave me a gift card for Fathers Day so I could use at this very store. Pulling into the parking lot, I could see the big L.L. Bean duck boot. Let's shop til we drop! Here's where it all fell apart. The store is very large, a little difficult to navigate but I pushed through. If I saw a shirt I liked, either they didn't have my size or the pattern was off in my size. I didn't see too many sales folks except at the registers. Enough is enough, I found a beautiful sear sucker shirt and asked for the shirt in big daddy size. They found the shirt in the back and it fits perfectly. Huzza! The young man at the register looks up my account and gives me a military discount at the end of my transaction. He then stuffs it all into a bag and says deuces?? I took everything out of the bag and folded it nicely. I'm glad I came but I'll stick to my local L.L. Bean.

I visited L.L. Bean to find a special gift for a friend's pet and was really pleased with the quality and variety of pet-friendly products available. Llbean is a Maine icon and a staple for outdoor activity loving folks. It's not the only place by far, and in recent years I feel like it's taken a bit of a fall. They changed their famous return policy a few years back, and I think their quality has also gone down as well. One or the other wouldn't have been such a bad thing, but both, I'm not surprised that the reviews here are a bit low. I always use my llbean things well, and usually don't return them, unless it's really something awful. My sister bought 249$ boots and 6 months later, while pulling them on, the seam around the waterproof bottom split open, ruined. Their return policy, changed, she couldn't return them. However all that being said, there's still something magical about an LLbean visit. Especially in the most wonderful time of the year. That's why while this review is 4 stars. It's a beautifully well done, Christmas display every single year. We always visit and we usually find some great deals in their outlet store. Also a reason for a 4 star review. I love this winter wonderland and we come every year. LL bean may have gone down a bit and then also up in price, but some of their stuff is still fire. The people who work here are always there to give a helping hand, and always so polite. So all in all I still come here a few times a year and have a little splurge!

On Dec 9 I ordered a sheet set Xmas gift at a family party. It didnt arrive until Dec 29.They didnt send out until over a week later then it was going nowhere for another week. I checked tracking daily.I wanted a full refund...spoke to 4 supervisors & head of Customer Service Raina Marshall---they refused to give me more than $15.63 for an item that was over $150...They have been around for over 100 years & they told me if I got a full refund they would go out of business---How stupid. Dont buy from them. Totally irresponsible & could care less.I checked tracking every day, and called them each day--they had no explanation...I see Jennifer B had a similar experience

I purchased the L.L. Bean Traditional Fit Mens Large Regular Cotton long sleeve no pocket t-shirts. They are quite thin material for a long sleeve shirt and they are extra, extra WIDE. Maybe that's what "traditional" means to them? Not sure but it doesn't seem like a regular to me? And I called and they do not sell any thinner "regular" to my standard shirts. Their shirts seem are made for huge men that like wide and baggy shirts. By all means the men in my family are not skinny! They are "regular" but not WIDE!! Very unusual sizing!! Can't shop here all their sizes are the same in shirts!!

My dogs and I enjoyed our visit to the L.L. Bean complex! There is an outlet store, and across the street, there is a whole complex. There's a large L.L. Bean boot, tons of kayaks and canoes out front, and many different stores. We only went in the main shop. But there is a store for boating, another for camping, and another for homes. There are probably a bunch more, but I didn't walk all around. My dogs and I enjoyed looking at the dog section. I bought myself a new Nalgene water bottle. It was so great they had a water fountain outside for filling water bottles! I got my dog a puzzle feeder bowl. He eats so fast, and this definitely slows him down. At the back of the store was a big display of 2 moose, with their antlers locked. I stood there, read the story, and had an emotional response to the scene. Some folks from Canada came up - a dad with his 3 kids. And the kids and I chatted a bit about my dogs. They liked my sweet dogs very much. Then they took my photo with the moose before they left. It was a nice visit. The store attendants are nice people. And the store is clean, well organized, well-lit. Everything is very nice and high quality.

Pretty cool store. Was in ME to visit family and had to visit the LL Bean store just as a touristy thing to do. Found some corkcicle travel mugs and drinkware - okay, dishwasher SAFE travel mugs, DISHWASHER SAFE!!! Who knew such a thing existed! Found some other buys as well, but was disappointed in some of the selections. Overall, yes, I thought it to be a good experience and if I'm here again, I wouldn't turn down a trip to browse around the store.

I bought Carbon Fiber hiking poles (expensive) for my wife. She did not use for a year. I decided to use them fresh out of package on a hike up Mt Katahdin . FAILED MISERABLY! They would not offer any help at all when I took them back. Simply put........do not buy LL Bean if you even think they are the store of Leon Leonwood Bean. As a reference, my friend (on this trip) bought a pair of poles at Reny's for dirt cheap and they worked fabulous! At one time I and my family bought a lot of goods from LL Bean. Not at all anymore. I would say go to Cabela's, at least they are cheaper for the "SAME" quality.

Products are not of the quality of the past. Nor is the guarantee.... but why would they guarantee inferior merchandise. Clothing has not been of the quality expected from LLBEAN ... for a long time now.

I amend my last review after considering all the good gear I've lived with all these years. I have three pair of Bean boots, and several bean jackets, sweaters, and although a bit pricey the quality has been good.
