Great historic building you cannot miss in your visit to Palma. Beautiful outside and inside. They had a sculpture exposition well worth seeing when we visited (30/09/25).

La Llotja in Mallorca is one of those places that makes you stop in your tracks. Built in the 15th century as the merchants’ exchange, it’s a Gothic masterpiece that still feels alive with history. The soaring columns and delicate stonework instantly take you back to the island’s golden age of trade. Today, it stands in the heart of Palma’s old town, surrounded by buzzing cafés, cozy restaurants and winding streets full of charm. Visiting La Llotja isn’t just about admiring a building, it’s about feeling the story of Mallorca come to life.

Free entry, if you're into modern sculpture then come here!

A stunning building which has an exhibition of Miro sculptures during our visit. Free entry & even if it was empty it would be worth a visit to look at the beautiful spiral columns & vaulted roof alone. A jewel of Palma.

There is an art exhibition, the building itself is quite impressive.

Can a building steal your breath with just one glance? Llotja de Palma in Mallorca does exactly that! This Gothic masterpiece, once a bustling medieval exchange, feels like a cathedral of trade with its soaring columns and intricate stonework. Walking inside is like stepping into a 15th-century merchant’s world, alive with history. Did you know its spiral columns were designed to symbolize the wealth and power of Mallorca’s traders? A must-see that blends beauty and stories in every arch!

Built between 1426 and 1447, this Gothic-style building once served as a maritime trade exchange and was the center of Mallorca’s commercial and maritime activities. It housed the headquarters of the Mallorca Maritime Trade Guild, an association of merchants. Designed by Guillem Sagrera, its high ceilings and helical columns create a grand and imposing atmosphere. Today, it is used as a venue for art exhibitions, cultural events, and special displays. While general admission is free, some special exhibitions may require an entrance fee.
