This 1-Michelin-starred restaurant truly exceeded expectations! In fact, I'd choose this experience multiple times over some 3-star meals I've had.
Dining with another couple, we had the entire restaurant to ourselves, allowing for dedicated attention throughout the evening.
The food was exceptional, showcasing the essence of Catalan cuisine with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients. Despite its Michelin status, the meal retained a sense of approachability and everyday charm. The wine list was also refreshingly affordable.
My favorite dishes included:
* Tempura Maitake and Mushroom Tea: The mushroom tea was a revelation, like a refined and cleaner version of mushroom soup.
* Fricandó Fritter: The combination of the fritter, beef, and sauce created an explosion of flavors.
* Mediterranean Seafood Salad with Jerusalem Artichoke: The kombu sauce added a playful and unexpected element to this dish.
* Emporda Style Doughnut with Aniseed Foam: A delightful and satisfying end to the meal.
This restaurant offers a fantastic value proposition with its high-quality food, intimate setting, and reasonable prices.
