Here’s Why Tomales Bay Oysters May Be Hard to Find at Bay Area Restaurants - Eater SF

"A new Moroccan restaurant called L’Mida, which comes from the owners of Khamsa in the Mission, opened at 2359 Chestnut Street, in the former Chestnut Bakery space. What Now SF originally reported the opening, but Tablehopper brings details of the menu: the new restaurant serves maakouda (potato fritters), tagines, and numerous flatbreads." - Paolo Bicchieri

L’Mida is one of the very best restaurants in San Francisco. Amazing, flavorful food served in a beautiful and vibrant dining space on chestnut street. This is truly a gem of the marina. The service is some of the best you will get anywhere in the city — the team is so kind and generous. The lamb shank is a must… slow cooked and tender. Also highly recommend the home made pita and muhammara .

L' Mida is beautiful Mediterranean restaurant in the Lombard Street. It has great ambience, the servers were very hospitable. Service was very prompt and above all, food tasted great, almost close to the actual Mediterranean taste that we find in the Middle East. Interiors are beautiful. we ordered Zatar Manakeesh, Hummus and Muhamara. They tasted good and were served with freshly prepared Pita Bread. Highly recommended!

THIS RESTAURANT DESERVES MORE CREDIT! Fadwa and her team are amazing! They gave the best customer service I have ever experienced! Truly the best of Moroccan hospitality – service was warm and outstanding! The ambience also reminds me of nice restaurants in Dubai. You have got to try the FUL MUDAMMAS - to die for as well as the MARINATED OLIVES! The GRILL PLATTER was also worth the buck! GREAT KNAFEH AND BAKLAVA topped with ICE CREAM! 😋 NO KIDDING everything we ordered was excellent! This restaurant is so family friendly as well(i was bringing my 19 month old and they were so friendly and generous)!❤️ I would love to come back here because it is really worth it! One of the best restaurants I have been to worldwide! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a fantastic restaurant; the atmosphere is inviting, modern with traditional touches. The tables feel private and cozy. The food is spectacular. The attention to flavors and creative touches to some traditional Moroccan dishes make this a must try for everyone. Started with Bedouin food, ended with the best lamb chop I’ve ever had, and a gorgeous, fragile, light, and delicious turmeric, pistachio and roses cake. Truly perfect.

Good food! We ordered the duck meet appetizer and like it a lot. Beet salad is descent, the dressing is a highlight. The roast hen is tasty too but takes 40 mins to cook. I wish the waitress will inform that before hand. Over all good food and good experience for first time trying Moroccan cuisine.

One of the best dinner we have had during our trip in California. The dishes are genuine moroccan, the flavours, the ingredients, all amazingly good. We took beef kebab, hummus, Chicken Tangia, Baba Ghanouj, Zaatar Manakich and Cous Cous. On top they offered us a portion of marinated olives.. Everyghing was amazing. I have lived and travelled to several arabic countries and this is one of the best arabic dinners I ever had. The Cous Cous was just great. If you live in San Francisco or you are there for a trip and you want to try something different, this is the place. Only point, everything is a bit spicy, we loved it, but not sure if they can meet requests for mild dishes.

Google
This new Moroccan restaurant is a true gem, offering an authentic taste of Morocco right here in the city. The flavorful dishes, reminiscent of its sister restaurant Khamsa, are a testament to the culinary skills at play. The decor creates a warm, inviting ambiance, enhancing the overall dining experience. What truly stands out is the charming Besma, whose warm and friendly management style adds a personal touch to the experience. Dining here is more than just enjoying a meal, it's an immersive trip into the heart of Moroccan culture. Don't miss out!

Edit: Unfortunately, we returned to L’Mida with some friends and had a completely opposite experience from our first visit. Everything was a miss from the food (old, not tender Qulaba, reheated dishes) to poor service. It was a big disappointment given we enjoyed our first visit so much. Original review: We had an absolutely delicious dinner. Qulaba (cubed NY strip) was tender, beautifully seasoned and came with a generous portion of a flavorful smoked eggplant chickpea puree. We also very much enjoyed the side of ful, highly recommend it. The batata harra and freshly baked bread were great as well. The interior is also cute, great place for a date night.

Yelp
HORRIBLE service. FANTASTIC food. Like for real the service was so horrible but the food tasted fab so pick your poison

Yelp
Food: 5/5. Lamb chops were delicious and cooked well. I'm picky with lamb because I don't like that "gamey" taste but I did not taste that here. Had a great selection of wine. We ran out of bread for our dip so they gave us extra. Service: 5/5. It wasn't busy when we came. Our server was super attentive. Gave us suggestions and even let us sample a few wines before we picked. Had a nice heavy pour for our wine glasses. Ambience: 5/5. Beautiful interior and design. Value: 3.5/5. It is on the pricier side. There are plenty of other great Moroccan restaurants in SF/Bay Area with similar tasty food but at a more affordable price. Would I come back? Yup, but for a special occasion or date night. I had a great experience overall and would recommend trying at least once.

Yelp
Second time here at l'mida, and the food is still delicious. We were a big group and everyone was happy with their meals. Got the mix grill, which had chicken, meatballs, and lamb chops. The lamb chops were fantastic, definitely the best part, but everything else tasted great. The service was super slow though. Had to ask for the bill multiple times. They also didn't have a lot of the wines on their wine list. Not sure if they had just run out, or they stopped stocking and haven't updated their menu. Overall a good choice if you're not in a rush.

Yelp
Incredible food. I've traveled the world and the flavorings, the service (Asma!), the ambiance (the prettiest bathrooms in the city)!!! Vegan options. Beer. A sweet chatty bar. GREAT MUSIC. Romantic vibes in the front but also super normal for a business dinner. All my faves.

Yelp
We stopped In for Easter dinner and almost had the place to ourselves. It's a beautiful restaurant with a small entry off a main street. It's much more spacious inside than one would expect. Our food was delicious. We had to add a bit of salt to the potatoes and the lentil soup, but the entrees were great!

Yelp
We came to this place right when it opened for a work dinner. The service was very slow even though the restaurant was empty but they were super friendly! All the food we ordered was delicious. The restaurant is decorated beautifully inside - very cool spot for a date night! They have a big oven they make the pita in - so delicious!

Yelp
I visited with one of my friends who wanted to have a quiet birthday dinner here. L'mida is beautifully decorated with Morrocan accents throughout the restaurant. We ordered a few dips & appetizers & shared an entree. I found the Zaalouk & Muhammara to be a bit spicy for my palette. The Mkila (shrimp) was good but was also slightly spicy. The Bastilla duck in phyllo dough) was kinda dry. I'd say that my favorites were the L'mida salad & beef tagine (very tender & flavorful). The baklava was pretty good too. Service was ok. The server told me that certain items weren't spicy but I guess that it's relative.

Yelp
L'Mida left much to be desired. Despite my initial excitement about trying out this new restaurant, the experience fell short with average food and subpar service. The service was notably slow, even with the restaurant being only 20% full. The waitress took an extended period to take our orders, and serving water seemed to take an eternity. The Fish Tagine was overcooked with dry fish, while the seasoning of the chicken tagine was overpowering yet the chicken tasted bland. It appeared as though the chicken was cooked separately and added to the spice/sauce at the last minute. The only dish that provided some enjoyment was the Mkila (garlic shrimp), where the shrimp's oiliness was balanced out by the bread. While the interior boasted appealing decor, the lack of sound-absorbing materials or decorations resulted in escalating noise levels from patrons, making conversations challenging. At the end, obtaining the check proved to be even more challenging than getting water, taking nearly 15 minutes before we could settle our bills. Due to the subpar customer service and food quality, I find L'Mida to be overpriced, and I do not plan on returning.

Yelp
A cute date spot with beautiful lighting, decor, and people. Service is kind and fun. I stopped by for an early dinner and the restaurant was empty. Slowly, seats started to fill up. Drinks were ordered first. I was curious about the Moroccan wine and was giving a taste of two. I got a nice pour. Now to the best part, dinner! Decisions were made and there's no regret. I absolutely love mahumarra ($11). It's a sweet and savory red pepper and walnut spread. The pomegranate syrup was so good! It's served with fluffy warm pita. Warm olives ($12) were mild in flavor. A great addition to sop up with pita. Fromage ($14) from the oven is more of a flatbread. Crispy thin bread topped with goat cheese, honey, walnuts, and figs. Beet salad ($16) was simply dressed with salt, lemon, and olive oil. Crisp white pear kissed the arugula and contrasted the red juicy beets. The Berber tagine ($33) was a perfect dish. The flavorful mix was cooked together but still had individual textures. The layers of flavor was surprising. You can eat your veggies and enjoy them with this dish! Of course, I had to ask for hot sauce. It was a flavorful paste that was a touch of spicy kisses to my meal. Yum! I'll be back for more.

Yelp
I cannot recommend this place highly enough! The staff was so wonderful, with our waitress giving us a great rec for wine and for all the food. The food was prepared to perfection - we had a few apps and shared a mixed grill for three of us. We were so happily full! And don't get me started on the beautiful decorations and way the restaurant was designed. It was so beautiful. Again - the staff truly was what made this experience next level!

Yelp
L'Mida is a gorgeously elegant restaurant serving a fine dining take on Moroccan cuisine. The spacious, colorful, cozy interior featured lots of decorations and an open kitchen with a bread oven. Speaking of which, we were started with small rounds of puffy, freshly-baked bread, which had a soft, pillowy interior and a thin, crusty exterior. The bread went nicely with the Hummus, Cucumber Labneh, and Muhammara dips we ordered on the side. Next, the Marrakchia Salad was a mixture of cucumbers, tomatoes, onion, parsley, and Parmesan in an olive oil and oregano dressing. The salad was simple but juicy and refreshing, and the Parmesan added a surprising salty umami to the dish. But my favorite item of all was the Duck Bastilla, a round pie with a filling of shredded duck, Turkish apricots, and almonds, wrapped in crispy phyllo dough and dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar. The meatiness of the duck contrasted nicely with the sweet apricots and the crunchy almonds, and the crispy phyllo dough held everything together. For our mains, the Riach were four thinly-sliced grilled lamb chops, served with saffron rice and onions, along with three sauces including harissa, yogurt, and mint-tahini. The Mrouzia was a whole braised lamb shank in a sweet glaze made with Turkish apricots and prunes, showcasing the sweet fruit flavors often paired with meat in Moroccan cuisine. Finally, the Fish Tagine came with a fillet of Branzino served over a flavorful mixture of cooked bell peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, olives, and lemon. The main flavors of the dish came from the olives and lemon--classic ingredients used in Moroccan food. Overall, the setting of the restaurant and the presentation of the dishes were gorgeous, though the prices were high for the small portion sizes, and the service wasn't particularly attentive.

Yelp
My friends really hyped this place up since it's been a struggle for us to find authentic Arabic food in the Bay. Walking in this place was beautifully decorated, quite the vibe! Overall this place has a ton of potential with some necessary tweaks in my opinion (take with a grain of salt) 1) More staff: god bless the single hostess that was covering every table in the back. Sadly this meant awful service. Took 15 minutes just to get menus 2) Recommend building some sort of lattice to block the kitchen view - otherwise the acoustics are so loud you can barely hear the person sitting directly across from you. 3) Overall the food was good, the oxtail tajine was melt in your mouth delicious But I was shocked it didn't come with a side of couscous to soak up all that great jus. I think there was way too much onion in the tabbouleh, and the batata har was more like batata bravas. The pita was well prepared though!

Yelp
The lasting memory of L'mida is that everything was way too sweet. The figs, honey and caramelized nuts in the salad were overwhelming and the apricots in the Bastilla were the same. The interior is lovely and the food had promise but ultimately couldn't get beyond its own cloyingly sweet flavors. It was early in its run so it's entirely possible they've upped their game, but it's tough to choose revisiting a disappointment with so many strong Chestnut options.

Yelp
Go for the food and the ambiance, but definitely not the service. Stopped in on a Monday at 7pm and the restaurant was fairly empty. L'mida is much bigger than expected and is absolutely gorgeous inside! It is elegant and vibrant, and feels like stepping into another world. We were seated quickly, and given menus and water. Even the menus were beautiful. It seemed like there was only one waitress working and one working in training, but neither came to take our order for at least 20 minutes despite there only being a few other parties eating. Fish tangine- 4/5 wonderful, bursting flavor. Great portion size. A little on the salty side. Lahm ajin- 4/5 similarly well flavored but a little salty Our food came out about 45 min after ordering. Between the two of us, we were still hungry after eating so we planned to order dessert as well. We had read other reviews that the tumeric cake was a must get. After waiting for another 20 minutes, we still couldn't get a waiter to come to our table so we gave up ordering the dessert. Ended up spending almost 2 hours there but still leaving hungry. As the only Moroccan place in Marina, we really wanted to love this place. Hoping the service gets better!

Yelp
I made reservations for dinner after they had just opened and I was seated upon arrival. I was excited to try out this new restaurant, but it didn't meet my expectations. The seating was located in the back of the restaurant and was kind of crowded. The food was flavorful but I found it pricy for the serving size. The only dish that stood out to me was their trio dip. This was a great first-time experience but I don't think I'd come back. The inside was so beautiful and definitely gave Moroccan vibes.

Yelp
Easy to walk in, got there on the earlier side on a Friday night. Can easily make a yelp reservation. Cool ambiance inside, good for groups & sharing. Good spot for dates, lots of options for food restrictions (gluten free). Family friendly. Decent portion size- easy to share. No outdoor seating & cool open kitchen concept. Would definitely recommend sharing so you can try more! Only wine & beer, no cocktails sadly, but didn't ruin our experience! Extensive wine collection: white, red, orange, rose, sparkling Must order the chicken from the grill section, dip trio, l'mina salad with goat cheese & balsamic, potatoes fritters

Yelp
Delectable Moroccan food with a gorgeously decorated interior and beckoning brick oven. L'mida is a trove of delicious Mediterranean classics waiting to be discovered. Highlights were the flatbreads, pita, and lamb cooked in the clay pot. Server was attentive and helpful in explaining each dish. Overall would be back! Very easy to find a table.
google avatar

Namita D.

Yelp
Food was mediocre and overpriced, service was inattentive, and they overbooked the restaurant, squeezing us into a too-small table in the middle of a busy walkway. Restaurant ambience was lovely, but I wouldn't go back.

Yelp
I had my birthday celebration at L'mida. The place was able to accommodate 17 of us and the service was great. The place is very chic and the interior was beautiful, as soon as you walk in you'll find a bar followed by the dining area. Their food can be improved in terms of portion but overall everything is delicious! Def recommended to try!

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of the marina, L'Mida transports diners to the vibrant streets of Morocco with its enchanting ambience and exquisite cuisine. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by the intoxicating aroma of spices and the soft glow of lanterns, creating an atmosphere that is both exotic and inviting. The décor pays homage to Moroccan craftsmanship, with intricate tile work, and ornate tapestries adorning the walls. Every corner of the restaurant tells a story, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the rich culture and heritage of Morocco. But it's not just the ambience that captivates; the food is equally extraordinary. The menu is a culinary journey through the diverse flavors of Moroccan cuisine, from fragrant tagines to flavorful couscous dishes. Each dish is expertly prepared, using traditional techniques and the finest ingredients to ensure an authentic dining experience. And let's not forget about the wine selection. L'Mida boasts an impressive array of wines, carefully curated to complement the bold flavors of Moroccan cuisine. Whether you prefer a crisp white or a full-bodied red, there's a wine here to satisfy every palate. In summary, L'Mida is a culinary oasis where diners can escape the ordinary and indulge in the exotic flavors of Morocco. With its beautiful ambience, mouthwatering cuisine, and exceptional wine selection, it's a dining experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Yelp
We waited over an hour & a half for our food, and there was barely any people in the restaurant at the time. Ordered the chicken tagine and the meat was mostly tendons, very chewy. All the waitresses/waiters/cooks disappeared for half an hour, left all the tables to themselves. Other people around us were waiting super long for their food too. Not sure why this place has such a high rating. Was really looking forward to eating here but left disappointed. Won't be returning.

Yelp
This place is such a fresh breath or air in the city of SF and the Marina district on Chestnut. The food is perfectly cooked and seasoned Moroccan dishes with an exciting wine selection, excellent service and ambiance and the experience is genuine and in pretentious. Just the most fabulous food with that touch of home made dishes full of love. You'll love everything about this place! The owners are phenomenal women who have a clear message, sharing their fabulous Moroccan culture and flavors with all of us

Yelp
Have you ever wanted to throw your hard earned money off a random cliff? Yes? Well, paying for your meal at L'Mida is exactly like that. The food was laughable (actually, I was pissed). The meals tasted like they were microwaved, the servings were small, and the prices were over inflated. I should have known what I was walking into when they served my partner and I our first order, the "Bastilla" - a duck pie that was the size of an English Muffin! That one tiny duck pie was $23!!!!! We ordered three more items hoping to prove ourselves wrong, but, it just got worse. The tabouli was overly salty, the flatbread was the size of a tortilla wrap, and the meatballs were small and dry. Mmmm, small and dry meatballs for $30. Mmmm. The total damage? $100. One hundred dollars for what? I'm not really sure. I looked around at the other dining folks last night and I was just amazed how content people were. I kept wondering if there was something I'm missing. Am I the one that's crazy? Should I be following the trend? Should I too start throwing my hard earned money off a cliff? The best thing I could say about L'Mida? Uh, well, the wall paintings are cool.

Amira W.

Yelp
Authentic Moroccan cuisine, great service, and ambiance! My favorite dishes were the lamb couscous and the baklava dessert.

Yelp
The place has a great location. I do like the format of the kitchen being visible. I can see this place being good for large groups of people. The waiters were attentive, and periodically checked in on my table. Now, for the bad part. The only non-alcoholic options they had for beverages were tap water and lemonade. I stuck with water, even though I wanted a coke which was listed on the menu. I had questions about my menu, asking simple questions if some of the courses were meant for sharing, or individually. She could not quite give me the answer I wanted, saying figuratively that any dish could be shared. Unfortunately this resulted in ordering too much for food for a party of two. I the flat bread appetizer was okay, it was a bit too sweet; would've been perfected if the cheese was distributed more evenly. The courses come, and they were large. Not what I was hoping for. I ordered a lamb shank, with almonds and an apricot like sauce. It had good presentation, but there was barely any meat. It mostly bone and gristle. The almonds were more filling that accompanied it. Being it was one of more pricier options on the menu I expected more. My partner's dish was slightly better, but once again, not knowing how much food we ordered, it was too much. I did not feeling a well a few hours later. It went right through my stomach. This place was a miss for me.

Yelp
EXCELLENT FOOD!!! Never had Moroccan food before but I've enjoyed Mediterranean food often. This was the best of any I've ever had. We had an appetizer, several small plates and salad, a main course...totally stuffed! Every single dish was sooooo good. Decided to have the baklava...a warm round delicious dessert topped with a bit of ice cream...not your same old baklava..... EXTRAORDINARY! Our server was the greatest. When we were uncertain about wines from Morocco, she brought us a five tastings! The restaurant transports you to old Morocco with a comfortable feel. EVERYONE should give L'Mida a try. I'm sure they will return often WE WILL

Yelp
One word- amazing! I am yet to visit Morocco but gladly, L'mida is here to take me on a journey any given day. Interior is simply breathtaking- I spent quite some time studying the intricacies of various mosaics scattered throughout the restaurant as well as beautifully painted murals hidden in wall arches. It's obvious that a lot of love and attention were poured into this space. Food was simply delicious. I got to try labneh dip with the homemade bread, cauliflower appetizer and tenderly sweet Mrouzia the lamb shank which was my favorite. What an experience I must say! My mouth was constantly bursting with rich flavors- I surely enjoyed and savored every single bite, every texture and every spice. Wine selection is unique and quite interesting- I got to try a glass of Georgian red and was very pleasantly surprised by how refined and balanced it was. Service was attentive and solid, lovely ladies were a pleasure to chat with. It got pretty busy around 7 pm- reservations are recommended (they are on Resy I believe). Will come back soon!
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
Good food and good ambiance! Unfortunately the stainless steel fluorescent lit open kitchen in the back clashes with the rest of the Moroccan theme... not a good design choice. Food wise we ordered the fromage flatbread, thin and crispy with a nice sweetness! Oxtail tagine was great! Meat was tender and spiced just right. Beet salad was meh and couscous a bit bland. Turmeric cake is a must have! A little crunch to it and sweetened with honey. Overall we liked it! A great place for a date or to take the folks when they are in town!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
We made a reservation on open table for 7:45 PM. Showed up at 7:50 PM we waited at the front for 5 min for someone to come. They finally showed up and stated that they're closed. The hours online clearly showed open till 9, and why did they allow us to make a reservation. It was confirmed, so if they saw it they could have called and canceled instead of waisting our time. There were clearly diners being served. Really disappointed. Thought we would give it shot to support a fellow middle eastern business. Probably won't last long. Very sad and disappointing.

Yelp
Very cute new restaurant in the Marina! The food is good and the space is beautiful. I prefer the seating in front or bar, as the back room feels a bit crowded. Great spot to get a drink and share an app.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, this is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in the world! No joke! it's so good! The service was quick and nice! Especially Samuel! he's the best server i've ever met! beautiful interior with nice lighting and cool frames that shows you if San Francisco was in the Middle East! if you're in town and you come across this restaurant, don't think twice about coming here! and when you're gonna eat in here, get the Grill Mix Meal, it's perfect for the fam! there's so much to eat and it's pretty filling too! this is easily a 5 out of 5. if anything, it's a 10 out of 5! i HIGHLY recommend this restaurant, can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Delicious and flavorful Moroccan food in the City at L'Mida! We devoured the trio of dips with pita and forgot to post a photo. We'll be back!

Josh B.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place as the space is cool; however, seemed very understaffed. Got our food which was very overpriced for what it was. Girlfriend and I both got home and woke up at 3am with food poisoning. Needless to say, probably won't be back.

Yelp
The BEST food I have had in a long while- Asma and Lina were so attentive and recommended their favorite dishes to me- which I am so happy I tried! Lina recommended bastilla which I will *definitely* be back for and re-ordering. The mrouzia (lamb dish) was so tender with the most beautiful sauce, Asma recommended the perfect Moroccan wine pairing with it, the Syrocco- absolutely delicious. And as a perfect aperitif, the kir de vin blanc was just so unique and now my new favorite drink, I've never had anything like it before- they even have their own special oven to puff the pita, which is SO MUCH BETTER this way, and fresh! Dipped it in my lamb sauce & called it a day. Cannot wait to come back and show it off to all my friends. Five hearts for all the love, deliciousness & hospitality.

Yelp
THE FOOD. THE SERVICE. THE PLAYLIST. First time in with a big group - we shared a ton of plates and had some delicious wine our server recommended. I can't stop thinking about the baklava.

Yelp
Love the ambiance here! From the minute you walk in, the music transports you to a little Moroccan escape. The wait staff where so kind, and the menu is great! We got a sampling of a little bit of everything - all the dishes are beautiful and the flavors do a dance on your tongue. From the cardamom touch in the mint tea, to the cinnamon and duck appetizer, the saffron in the chicken tajine, and the light couscous - it all complemented each other. And don't skip out on dessert! The turmeric cake w the black cumin seeds may have been the best part of the meal!! 10/10 rec

Yelp
The food was so delicious, we were so hungry we didn't take any pictures we just started eating as soon as it came. Service was also amazing LINA and ARBIA took great care of us! They were both so friendly and really made us feel comfortable. 10/10 recommend if we lived closer this would definitely be our regular spot.

Yelp
Amazing service, delicious and authentic food in a beautiful decor. Highly recommend this restaurant especially for a date night :)

Yelp
Wow! Visiting from San Diego and my sister (who's a local) took me here for dinner last night - one of the best meals I've had in awhile. Our waitress was fantastic and we went with all of her recommendations from wine to main course. The flavors and spices of Morrocan food are delicious and complex, and L'Mida's versions were exquisite. I cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
What a terrific, clean restaurant. As soon as you open the front door, the feeling is fresh and the decor is stunning. My wife and I had a lovely dinner. Each of us had the lamb, I the shank, and my wife the couscous. Superb! I highly recommend to the trio dip platter to start, and of course, the Turmeric Cake was quite possibly the best desert that I have ever put in my mouth. Merci!

Yelp
Dining at this Moroccan gem was a truly enchanting experience. The moment I stepped in, I was captivated by the rich and inviting ambiance that evoked the essence of Morocco. The food was exceptional, boasting an array of flavorful dishes that showcased the depth and diversity of Moroccan cuisine. Every bite was a delight to the senses. The service was impeccable, with the staff exuding warmth and attentiveness, adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Moroccan cuisine or new to it, this restaurant is a must-visit for an extraordinary culinary journey.

Yelp
The staff was really nice but the food was awful and overpriced . I got the chicken. 2 drumsticks with flavorless gravy. No sides all for 30 bucks. All the dishes had no flavor at all. Super bland.

Yelp
The ambiance is gorgeous, but we should have been warned when on a Thursday night we arrived and were the only people here at 6pm. We soon learned why--the hard way. Food was incredibly bland. I never ask for salt at a restaurant and don't consider myself a "pass the salt" person at all. Salt was the only thing that could make this tasteless food edible. What's worse, the beef was served Luke warm (remember, we are the only people here!) and is half fat. Photo for reference. Sadly, I can't recommend this place for the food, but the ambiance would be nice for a drink!

Yelp
TLDR: What was supposed to be a special occasion fell incredibly flat. Ambiance: The best part of my visit to L'Mida was the pleasant ambiance. Everything was impeccably clean, well lit with mood lighting (shout out the cute usb-c charged lamps on every table), perfect volume of the music, nice temperature, and the lotion in the bathrooms was a nice touch. The paintings on the walls and the addition of lotion in the bathrooms was a pleasant surprise. Presentation: The presentation was on par with the rating of the restaurant from prior research before dining. Nothing super fancy, but met expectations. The one knock would be that the fromage flatbread was nothing close to the pictures from online being that it was not raised in the slightest. Taste: I was so let down by the taste of the food. We ordered the fromage flatbread, couscous, and beef tagine. The underlying theme of every dish was vaguely sweet, unseasoned, unspiced, unbalanced, and below room temp. Not a hint of salt or depth of flavor. The beef tagine was really tough and one of the pieces had no meat and instead was hard unrendered fat connected to a bone. The texture of the lamb in the couscous was probably the best part of the meal with how tender it was, but missed in every other category. The raisins were also quite plump. The flatbread was tortilla thin without any chew and was overpowered by the balsamic. Service: The host and waitstaff were welcoming and checked in on us the appropriate amount. Weirdly, the waitstaff tried to take dishes from us and the table next to us that we were both actively eating out of, which has never happened to me. Price/Value: I did enjoy that the portion sizes were pretty generous for a nice restaurant, but with how poorly the food was executed it wasn't worth it. The potential is absolutely there with adjustments for this to be a gem. I am not sure if it was just an off night, but I have no plans on going again.

Yelp
I have never written a review in my life, but I have also never received such amazing service in my life... my friends and I felt like royalty at this restaurant and were treated like we were worth millions. Not only WOULD i come again, but I lost certainly WILL and definitely soon. Felt like home.

Yelp
L'mida has immediately become on of my staples on Chestnut street. The service is impeccable and the food is to die for. We started with the zaatar bread which was fresh and delicious. Then we had the shared mix plate consisting of chicken, kafta meatballs, and lamb chops. The lamb was the best I've had in the city. I washed this down with some well priced wine as well as the signature mint green tea that was amazing. L'mida is an excellent escape from the classic american and italian food you can find on Chestnut street and I will soon be returning.

Yelp
Husband and I went to L'mida on the second day of the opening in the Marina and I must say I was very impressed with the food and atmosphere. I've been to Morocco multiple times and loved the food there and so it was a no brainer to come to L'mida to try it. Everything I had was absolutely delicious. I loved everything but what stood out to me was the Mkila (spicy shrimp), beef tagine and the maakouda (potato fritters). The interior was beautifully decorated and I felt like I was transported to Marrakech. Can't wait to try other things on the menu. It's a definite must!
