Where To Eat In Northern Westchester

"Remember those three weeks when you were a sourdough baker? That loaf you were workshopping has been perfected at LMNOP, a country-chic bakery that sits on the main strip in downtown Katonah. The sourdough breads made with freshly milled flour have earned them a lot of attention, but feel free to grab a cup of coffee and a croissant, a bialy, or whatever looks good—everything we’ve tried here has made us close our eyes with joy. All the baked goods are made onsite on the second floor, where some of those breads are also transformed into premade sandwiches. Just be prepared: Even though the Katonah locals look friendly, their sharp elbows come out when one of the 20 or so coveted seats open up." - mike wasserman

As a local business owner — Rolling Suds Power Washing — offering power washing and roof washing services throughout Katonah and Northern Westchester — I’m always on the move. LMNOP Bakery has quickly become one of my favorite spots to stop when I’m working in the area. The quality here is top-tier. The croissants are perfectly crisp and buttery, the sourdough is phenomenal, and the seasonal pastries (especially the galettes and hand pies) are always a highlight. Their cappuccinos are also excellent — smooth, balanced, and made with care every time. It’s clear everything is crafted with real attention to detail. The space itself is warm and stylish, with a calm, neighborhood feel that makes you want to linger. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the service is quick — ideal for someone on the go. LMNOP adds real charm to Katonah and is exactly the kind of small business that makes this area special. Highly recommend to anyone nearby, whether you’re grabbing a quick coffee or picking up a box of baked goods for the weekend.

What a CUTE, adorable, perfect little bakery in the heart of Katonah! Located right across from the Katonah train stop, it's the perfect little destination no matter where you're traveling from. Not only is this place so cute, simple, quaint and filled with locals - the bakery items are absolutely delicious and drool worthy. Though everything here is pretty minimal, they know what they're doing displaying all their delicious baked goods through that glass window. It makes the choices SO hard. I loved how kind and nice the cashier was, despite there being such a long line and it being so busy on a Sunday, she greeted us with a smile and kindness while helping us make the perfect choice for our afternoon treats. We ended up going for the orange zest and blood orange icing loaf slice (I wish I remembered the exact name) and the monkey bread. Wow. The monkey bread was out of this world and a pretty decent size! This isn't normally my go to, but my hubby loves cinnamon and soft - it was exactly that. Crispy, flaky, soft and pillowy when you bite into it. SO fresh and delish! We ended up ordering an unsweetened matcha latte but next time will for sure try their coffee! Limited seating and space is available, so I wouldn't say it's a good spot for large groups but the line moves pretty fast and it's totally worth it. Also, they're now open on Sundays, woohoOo!

You cannot visit Katonah and not go to LMNOP bakery! Wanted to buy a little something for my friend today and just knew that their sourdough bread and Jesse’s cookies would do the trick! Always something new and novel being baked inside this retail store of goodness. My go to bakery! Delicious coffee too. Great place to catch up with a friend.

Updated April 19, 2025. Exceptionally fresh and inspired baking, and excellent coffee, too. The products, especially the breads and pastries, are stand-outs compared to many local ‘bake shops’ that focus on over-decorated celebration cakes. Now for the serious part: the bread, specifically, their Bedford Sourdough. Hmmmmmm - lovely crispy crust where the tangy yeast jumps through, and the loaf proper - moist and very flavorful. Highly recommended - it’s the best bread I’ve tasted so far in over three years on this side of the Atlantic. I lived in London, England for 22 years and I say this bakery is better than Gail’s including the Hampstead location near the Northern Line tube. On a par with its larger cousin-in-spirit, E5 Bakery in London Fields, Hackney. Bravo! The regular Bedford sourdough loaves go very well with homemade soups. The front of house staff provide excellent service especially in their knowledge of ingredients (for people managing blood glucose levels and gluten). They pay close attention when customers are speaking particularly for multiple/part orders! No need to repeat orders - the staff are tuned in! Update: Mar. 1, 2024. Exceptional corn muffin just out of the oven. It is full of lucious blueberries which pair well with the crispy corn. I’m looking forward to eating their speciality loaf this week: Squirrel Bread, with oats, millet, pumpkin seeds, dates and sunflower seeds. Update: Feb. 10, 2024. This bakery features a special bread which differs each week. Two weeks ago I enjoyed their oatmeal bread. Today I bought a sourdough variant with turmeric, pepper and poppy seeds. Stay tuned for my updates! Update Jan 19, 2024. First visit for lunch with a former work colleague who lives in Katonah. Freshly-prepared sandwiches were excellent albeit on the pricey side. See photo update for menu. Update 3/29/24. Ate buckwheat muffin today accompanying by excellent filter coffee. Lovely, light consistency with slices of fresh pears on top. Highly recommended; see photo. Update 12/2/23. I’ve had the Drip coffee twice. Often overlooked (or overcooked) in coffee venues, the brew here is delicious. Fresh, good taste with milk, not too hot or reheated. Decent value for medium sized cup at $3.25. Granola muffin today - very fresh with fresh fruit providing a lovely balance to the crispy oats. Update 10 July 2025. Bakery hiring experienced bread makers, dishwashers

LMNOP Bakery in Katonah, NY, is a delightful spot that consistently impresses with its array of freshly baked goods and warm, inviting atmosphere. The staff is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, offering recommendations with a smile. Their pastries, especially the croissants and seasonal fruit tarts, are flaky, buttery perfection. The coffee is robust and pairs beautifully with any choice from their sweet or savory menu. Whether you're a local or just passing through, LMNOP Bakery is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in high-quality, delicious baked treats.

We were traveling and stopped by to grab pastries to bring to brunch at a friend's place. We ordered the monkey bread, ham and cheese croissant, a savory scone, and two other items that I can't recall. Everything was delicious. In addition to the pastries, we also picked up the popcorn sourdough bread to bring home. They had samples available at the register and, after tasting a piece, I added it on to the order. The flavors in it are amazing. Per their web site, it's only available Thursday to Sunday and it has wheat, rye, spelt, water, salt, polenta, cheddar and black pepper. It's so good that I can eat it toasted without anything else.

Google
Amazing pastries! It can get crowded there, so I’ve never actually sat in the shop, but there are a few indoor and outdoor seating available. Prices worth the quality of the goods for sure! I’ve never tried anything here I didn’t like, my go to is the sourdough bread and croissants.

It's an amazing spot across from the Katonah train station. It's love at first bite first the freshly baked bread made with locally sourced grain. Baguettes, and Bedford Loaf are just 2 types of sourdough. Incredible Pastries, cakes and cookies are delectable. The sandwiches are a masterpiece. Availability changes daily. Anne and Jesse have come a long way from the days of home baking. They are an asset to the Hudson Valley area of fine bakers, makers, and chefs! Congrats!

Every bakery item I got was sublime! Rich buttery croissants, the monkey bread loaf was to die for.

Yelp
Wow! Got a great sandwich on ciabatta and amazing raspberry orange deserts along with a cappuccino! Everything was soooo yummy, especially the olives on the sandwich. The ceramics are also so cute - the mugs, plates, and vases. The fresh flowers are such a nice touch. The overall decor and space are so charming - I will be back whenever I'm in town!!

Yelp
I used to buy bread from LMNOP during the pandemic. I don't believe they had a physical location at that time, but I'm not positive. I was recently in the area and came across their physical bakery--a lovely surprise! I had no idea they had one. The bakery is beautiful inside. I was there at around 6:45, and I saw that they double as a wine bar. There were plenty of people enjoying a drink and a cheese board or a pastry, which was great to see. I was looking for some cookies for dessert, so I ordered 2 ginger molasses cookies and 1 chocolate cranberry oatmeal cookie. Since it was the end of the day, the person behind the register ended up giving me 2 free cookies so as to help eliminate food waste! I ended up getting 5 cookies for the price of 3. Both cookie flavors were delicious, and I can't wait to go back and try more! I also saw that they sell a variety of canned and dry goods (pictured here). Overall a great bakery and the perfect place to get a drink and a pastry!

Yelp
Kouign-Amann, Cinnamon Sugar Swirl (or the bigger version) are some of the best items. They are made with a croissant base and are super crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. The mocha coffee leaves a lot to be desired (on the bitter side) but they do use real chocolate ganache instead of syrups. We also got the apple cider donuts and croissants. I like the ambience and decor style. Using matching mugs and plates is a nice touch. No service, some POS individuals are nice and informative, others not. The baristas have all been nice thus far. You self service/clean up after yourselves.

Yelp
I came here to grab a coffee on the Friday after Thanksgiving. At 10am, the cafe was packed, but my friend and I managed to grab a seat. I had a cortado, which was very good. The staff are nice, and it looks like there's a great selection of fresh bread, pastries, and cakes. So happy to see a cafe/bakery like this in Katonah.

Yelp
Pricey, but incredibly delicious bakery with very high quality pastries. The ingredients are top tier.

Yelp
Oh my, oh my, oh my.... It's great to have a topnotch bakery in Katonah. It's even better when that bakery is this good. Not good - LMNOP is exceptional. We are indeed lucky folk to have such a place in our midst. There are all the usuals, here, if a bit better than most. Muffins and scones, cookies and cakes, puffy pastries and little pies. Then there are the pasties that you've never seen before. Maybe a bit darker and shaped differently than usual. And yet wonderfully lush and amazing. Breads are made of locally source organic flour, water and salt. Period. Because they're sourdough, the flavor of the grains is better developed and its nutrients can be more readily absorbed. Tastes better and better for you, too. (Some people who don't tolerate wheat may be able to digest sourdough more easily.) We had a very simple lunch, just sliced ham and cheese on a baguette. And yet, just those basics, with that exceptional bread, made a grand lunch like no other. Prices are a bit high, but this is Katonah after all, and these goodies are primo, certainly nothing like you've ever had before. And easily worth a premium for the best around. Knowing that items change day to day, that some tasty experiments may never be seen again, that today's specials will not be like yesterdays or tomorrows it's well-worth stocking up on these over-the-top exceptional goodies.

Yelp
Artisanal experience that encompasses everything from the eating/drinking menu to the dishes in which everything is served. The options for food vary depending on the day and what time you arrive - that day I was there there was a polenta bread. I ordered this with a hot chocolate and a chocolate tahini cookie. The polenta cake had a great texture and had a lot of flavor without being too dense. Another part of the the bakery is their great bread. There are a good number of options (if you are there early enough) and it never disappoints (especially the sourdough). There is seating both downstairs on the main level, outside, and minimal seating upstairs. Upstairs there is an open concept design where the bakers are in the same area as the seating. Highly recommend for the baked goods, bread, and experience.

Yelp
I love bread. And it has been my goal to try out local bakeries near me. I found LMNOP Bakery while searching for bakeries in my area and decided to make a trip. I stopped by today and was surprised to see how cute this bakery was. It is quite small but still has plenty of seating areas inside and outdoors with I ordered croissant, a brownie, a baguette, and an iced americano. I always get a croissant whenever I try a new bakery. I was surprised when I took a bite of the croissant as it was much denser and seemed like a whole grain type dough. I looked at the menu online and found out that it was a whole grain sourdough croissant. It was still flaky on the exterior but a little denser inside. It was definitely different from the usual croissants but I enjoyed the heartiness. The baguette was also great, dense, wheat baguette. A little tough for my liking but still good! Brownie was not too sweet (in a good way). I would definitely make another trip to try out some of their other breads! Especially their sourdough which seemed like a popular bread for many customer.

Yelp
Crowded on a Saturday morning. Sat inside. Outdoor seating available. Delicious pistachio chocolate plié (croissant-like). Planning on going back to try more goodies. Good cappuccino. They let us take a peek upstairs to see the bakery!

Yelp
Only 4 stars because I need to try more of their stuff but it's actually prob 5 star. My Katonah savior. I always grab some beans and a cup when I visit the in-laws so that I'm not dying from bubble guts after choking down Foldgers Ultra Midnight Darker Than a Black Hole Roast for a week. They finally got some dope vegan stuff too -- huge plus.

Yelp
LMNOP is now open on Sundays! I was just inside and confirmed. They have not updated their website yet. Also, they had a giant smoker outside - brisket for lunch 1 to 4 PM today.

Yelp
No crossants available until 8:30 seems sinful. Love this place but too many choices when all you want is the staple. Will still come back but hoping the policy changes

Yelp
You can pick up such delicious homemade breads here every Thursday and Saturday from 11am-2pm till they fully open their store here this spring TBA. You can order the breads ahead online or stop by here in the morning to see if they have a bunch of extras, which they usually do! Got the cinnamon swirl and orange olive oil breakfast cake and wow, they're so delicious. The orange olive oil tastes like an incredible poppyseed cake, while we made French toast out of the cinnamon swirl loaf and it was like eating a full plate of cinnamon rolls. What a weekend breakfast! Will of course be coming back to try their cardamom rolls, baguettes, and more. 5 stars!!!!

Adrienne B.

Yelp
Excellent bakery! High-quality from scratch baking. Granola muffins were crunchy and soft and not too sweet. Nice location, friendly service. Great coffee too

Sam L.

Yelp
Probably the best coffee I've ever had and the tahani cookie was so chewy but crispy on the outside. Def going back!

Yelp
I feel like Katonah has a PNW aesthetic -- plenty of places to buy Patagonia, chic bookstores (if you're not already going to the Katonah Reading Room, what are you waiting for!?!?!), and great restaurants. It was lacking, however, in bakeries. Enter LMNOP. Not your conventional bakery with sugary confections, but instead more of an artisan bakery with the most perfect loaves of sourdough, elevated treats like tarts, scones, etc. that, while not obviously kid-friendly, will be a true delight to your palate. Also, don't sleep on their coffee offerings. If for whatever reason I haven't already fueled myself with caffeine, I quite like an iced coffee from LMNOP and a sweet treat to boot.
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
They have the best coffee around the area. All of their things are delicious. Every time I go I try something different. Inside is a little chaotic with how the line is set up. And how small the space is, but it's manageable, especially with the tables outside. My biggest gripe is that they are not open on Sundays, which is usually the day I wanna go. All the staff are really nice despite the chaos inside at times.

Yelp
This place puts the ART in artisanal baked goods. Eating at LMNOP engages all five senses. The warm focaccia transports you to Tuscany. The beautiful pear and Concord grape tartlet ought to be on exhibit at the Met. The sound of the crispy yet soft croissant makes you forget about the rain outside on a Saturday. And the aroma and taste of everything I've ever ordered makes LMNOP first in my heart among the pantheon of great bakeries. Well done

Yelp
Aside from their great name, this place is rolling out amazing baked goods! I have been following them before October 2022 when they officially opened their brick and mortar store front in Katonah. I am currently making weekly visits and frequent pre-orders. Check out their Valentine pre-order spread. Today we stopped bye and picked up the Bedford sourdough and this amazing tart so flaky crisp on inside and wonderful inside, finding it hard to stop at just one.

Sunny B.

Yelp
Great baked goods - thumb print cookie, brownie, hand pie. Delicious sandwich. Efficient service... can't ask for more.

Yelp
Friend stopped by and picked up a loaf of Cacio e Pepe bread knowing I love anything that has Cacio e Pepe in the name Well I thing something when wrong as it was totally lack luster Baker needs to go back and perfect it as this definitely a no go . To paraphrase an old Burger King commercial " Where's the Cheese "

Taylor S.

Yelp
Favorite coffee shop in Westchester. One of the few places that makes me feel like I'm in SoHo. Get any of the cookies.

Yelp
Love all the food! Delicious, fresh, good coffee, but the layout is awkward for waiting after you have ordered. Small inconvenience

Gina B.

Yelp
Delicious, unique offerings for eat in or take out. Charming cafe, and delicious coffees. A wonderful addition to Katonah.

John A.

Yelp
Sourdough bread was delicious. We had it toasted the next day and the flavor was even better! Coffee was good too, but the lid leaked when you drank from the take out cup. I'd recommend getting a different cup unless you don't mind having coffee drips on your clothes.....LMNOP...

Yelp
Firstly, I have visted this bakery a bunch of times and some or your employees seem consistently very unhappy, is is going Ok over there? They all seem to be workint very hard maybe the owner can pay them more or work on culltivating a happy work place. I bought a sourdough beacuse it said it had cheese and peppers inside. And they are charging top dollar for this "specialty" loaf. When I started cutting into it it was like one small bit of cheese every other slice and even fewer pieces of pepper. I was really dissapointed, I've had beetter cheesy/pepper bread from the supermarket and it cost a lot less. Why have a specialty loaf if youre going to be so stingy with the ingredients! If you loaded it up I would have been back over and over to buy it. Now I'm a lot less inclinded to try anything else the bakery makes that they will label specialaty.

Augusta G.

Yelp
Great coffee, baked goods and an overall wonderful spot. If you get the hot cocoa, be sure to get the marshmallow! It's incredible.

Cherie S.

Yelp
New bakery in the town of Katonah which is amazing. Very unusual selection of breads and pastries and they also serve drinks as well. Very nice people, friendly and a great addition to the neighborhood. Check it out and you won't be disappointed.

Ted D.

Yelp
Their croissants are delicious and the coffee has been solid every time. Wish they were open on Sundays, that's my only complaint, otherwise a solid option for a nice spot to relax and have a drink.

Amanda S.

Yelp
Really good fresh authentic sourdough loaves. Fun and trendy atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Al P.

Yelp
This spot is perfection, the kind of cafe that you think would only exist in a Nancy Meyers movie. The pastries are out of this world, the sandwiches are fresh and interesting and the decor and space is just perfect. The staff are all incredibly friendly and easy going.

Yelp
They are finally open! Just got 3 different kinds of cookie: lemon shortbread, chocolate chip cranberry and tahini and each was better than the last, incredible! In addition to making some of the best treats I've ever had (not an exaggeration, and I've had a lot of treats), I love their mission to buy local wheat.

Jeffrey K.

Yelp
Great cheddar chive scones.might be the best I have ever eaten.smelled so good one did not make it home.

John S.

Yelp
It's not often a new business hits the ground with unbridled success and an instantly loyal local following, but LMNOP has done just that. LMNOP has been producing incredibly tasty bread and pastry concoctions for a while now, but just recently opened its retail outlet on Katonah Avenue across from the commuter rail station. Using locally-sourced grains and with a complete focus on small batch production, LMNOP is creating bread magic unlike anything I've ever seen before. The coffee and tea beverages are also created with utmost care and attention. If you're in a hurry or simply don't care, well, go to Dunks; otherwise, come here to LMNOP for a magical and delicious timeout in your otherwise busy day.
