"Live fish tanks at the entrance may not set this restaurant apart from its promenade rivals, but its food certainly does. Wonderfully fresh seafood is prepared using traditional home recipes that allow the high-quality ingredients to shout their name. Steamed zebra mantis shrimp on egg white custard boasts bouncy, umami-laden meat. The mantis shrimp in chilli and garlic and steamed fish in sea salt are equally good. When booking, ask about the seafood that needs pre-ordering." - Michelin Inspector

Michelin 1 Star Seafood Restaurant If you come to Sai Kung and need a seafood restaurant recommendation, we recommend you to try Loaf On which is a Michelin 1 Star restaurant. We tried the set meal for two. The fish soup is extremely rich and you can stop drinking it. It's really comforting. The fried soy sauce prawns are amazing. So crispy to the point that you could literally eat the whole thing. It's well seasoned and not too salty. Steamed chicken feet and mushroom is tender, mushroom is well marinated and chewy. The scallop is unique. It's served in a rice broth, almost like congee. The scallop is sweet and soft. Our most favourite would be the abalone. This baked salt and pepper abalone is crispy on the outside and chewy inside. We love this a lot. The size is huge as well! Lastly, for some carbs, you will get fried noodles which is also amazing!

The cooking skill was excellent across the board—it was a truly impressive meal. Fried Tofu: Although a simple dish, the flavor was anything but ordinary! It was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside. The tofu itself was seasoned so well that it tasted amazing without needing any dipping sauce at all. Stir-fried Razor Clams: Absolutely superbly cooked! The clams retained their crunchy texture and had a perfectly well-rounded, delicious flavor. It was an incredibly satisfying dish. Abalone: So tender! Easy to chew and the flavor was outstanding. I genuinely wanted to order another one, but I had to restrain myself because we had already ordered so much! 😂 Scallops with Glass Noodles: The sauce poured over this dish was fantastic! It was fragrant with garlic and had a rich, umami flavor (nuan) that was deeply satisfying. Lobster with Ginger and Noodles: We chose a large lobster prepared two ways: stir-fried with ginger, and the accompanying fried noodles. The fried noodles were a little on the salty side initially, but in the end, they were so good we finished the entire plate! Geoduck: A perfect finish! The geoduck we chose was incredible—sweet, crunchy, and delicious. For those who prefer not to eat it raw, the restaurant provided a slightly ginger-flavored soup and tofu for dipping, served with wasabi. It was a complete and perfect meal. This was a seafood meal that impressed from start to finish. The freshness of the ingredients was top-notch, and the cooking truly highlighted the natural flavors of the sea. The total price for this meal came to approximately 2,000 HKD per person. While it is a premium price, given the quality, freshness, and incredible taste. I came in a group of 4 for these dishes. I wish I came with more people so I could try more dishes. ถ้าใครเป็นคนไทยมีพี่พนักงานคนไทยอยู่น่ารักมาก ตามหาพี่เค้าได้ค่ะ

Given this is a Michelin one star restaurant for consecutive 16 years. The food and great service. We bought seafood from the nearby market and brought them to the restaurant. Average USD100 per person. Overall geat experience.

A friend recommended this Michelin star seafood restaurant in Sai Kung, which is a little off the Main Street with all the seafood restaurants. Food is fresh and delicious, and ambience is definitely cleaner and nicer than the usual alfresco seafood places. Would I come again? I’m not sure. We enjoyed all the dishes as they were mostly good. But not sure it’s worth the high price tag. We took the set menu for 4 as it was easier, but it was surprising that instead of lightly cooking the seafood, most of it was fried. It was very delicious, don’t get me wrong. But I’d have thought a seafood restaurant right next to the sea should try to maintain the fresh delicate taste by lightly cooking instead of frying it or putting it info a batter. Service was curt, with sullen faces. We had to ask for our plates to be changed, and teapots to be filled up, although the place was quite empty. The service staff, including the person who looked like the manager, all appeared to be having a bad day. I think ultimately, one can get equally good seafood elsewhere at a lower price and with friendlier service.

I had better quality of seafood in other restaurants, not the best place for seafood with the high price. Probably a place for tourists. Staff feel annoyed if you switch seats twice, cause we misunderstood our friend cannot climb up stairs, but finally we chose upstairs seating.

All the food was of a very high standard, but the service was disappointing. We ordered a seafood set meal for four, which included razor clams, and I was really looking forward to eating them. But after we placed our order, a bald waiter came over and told us they didn’t have razor clams and asked if it was okay to substitute them with scallops. It was quite strange that a seafood restaurant wouldn’t have razor clams, but since they said they were out, what could we do? We had no choice but to agree. Then, while we were eating, we suddenly noticed that the table next to us was served a plate of stir-fried razor clams—exactly the same as what was supposed to be in our set! So I called over another waiter and asked, “Didn’t you say there were no razor clams? How come the table next to us has them?” The waiter replied, “Oh, they ordered them à la carte. The set menu cost doesn’t cover razor clams, so we don’t include them in the set.” TF? Then why even list razor clams in the set menu? Honestly, the meal itself was of a really high standard—all the seafood was fresh, and the cooking was spot on. But this situation really affected my mood. The set meal was $3,288, which included tea, condiments, and service charge, so at least there were no extra fees—that’s something worth praising. One more criticism: the dessert felt really half-hearted.

Really delicious fresh seafood. Our fave was the deep fried oyster with lettuce, but we enjoyed everything we ordered which included razor clams, salt & pepper squid, fried tofu, and fried rice. I found the coffee pork ribs too sweet, but not bad. Great service; though the server did not speak good English, she was very patient and nice.

Really nice and fresh seafood. It is so good that the waitress helped us to Mantis Shrimps. The price is a bit high and maybe we stayed a bit too long, the manager looked quite annoyed.
