I had the most AMAZING time here! Pretty quiet on a weekday afternoon, as I hear it can get busy on weekends since the opening. The baristas and shop employees were all SO sweet and friendly! I browsed the extensive selection of stationery for a long time and picked up some cute items, then got a fantastic matcha latte and delicious black sesame pound cake while enjoying the serenity of the cafe up front. I will definitely be coming back!!!

I could spend hours here. The cafe in front is sunny and airy, with a pretty big menu. The stationary part of the store is spacious and well laid-out. Like the niconeco location, there’s lots of nooks and crannies with different varieties of stationary to explore. The goods are beautifully curated. Lots of Japanese and cat-themed products, with a variety of price points. The prices are also closer to market value in Japan compared to the markups many similar stationary stores charge. A 10/10 experience! One small suggestion would be to mark the sticker sheets with clearer pricing-I only saw a general ‘stickers $3-5’ sign.

This will be my new go to spot on my days off! As someone who has visited the original location in East Village, this space is much more spacious and allows visitors to not only peruse all the stationary goods but also have a place to work/journal/catch up with friends. You can really tell how much thought went into curating this space. I ordered the Hojicha Sesame Latte and thought it was not too sweet which was to my preference although there is honey and simple syrup offered if needed. Service was great for both the cafe and the shop! Can’t wait to return again!

Loaf on Paper is filled with so many treasures! I love all of the beautiful items for sale and the clear care that went into the store. The women who helped me pick out the perfect journal today were also very kind and invested in my search. I will 100% return every time I find myself in the neighborhood.

Such a cute and cozy coffee shop! The coffee is so good too! It’s not too busy in the morning but unfortunately their stationary store opens at noon so I wasn’t able to browse their store (as they close it off), but I’ll be back to enjoy it next time I’m in the area!

I had the loveliest time at Loaf on Paper's grand opening!! There is so much love and care put into the store's design and layout. The front of the store is the cafe area, and the back is where the stationery shop is at. I got a matcha latte and I really appreciated that they actually whisk the matcha so that it's much smoother. There are also plenty of seats and really cozy lighting. The shop in the back is FULL of stationery goodies and it was an absolute dream to slowly go through everything! They have all types of stuff- from wooden stamps, stickers, cards/postcards, notebooks and more. I've always enjoyed their main store, Niconeko zakkaya, and Loaf on Paper didn't disappoint. Will definitely be visiting regularly from now on!

They have delicious cappuccinos and cheesecake! What a little AC haven to relax in during the Summer time. The cafe opens early, but the stationary part of the store opens at 12p (FYI!). Will have to come back to check this out soon.

Edit: sorry but I still genuinely think the drinks weren’t that great even if the matcha was expensive or if you used black sesame paste. I was just trying to offer some ideas to make it better. I hope I can change my mind in the future. The café is so cute and the chairs and cushioned booths are incredibly comfortable to sit on after the hot summer day. The interior was exactly what I hoped it to be and the doors look amazing. We tried the iced matcha latte and black sesame caramel latte. Before our arrival, I read up on some reviews stating the matcha was very disappointing and if I am going to be honest, I'd have to agree with them. I think they need to rethink their matcha powder or work on the ratios when preparing it. It tasted at the same time lacking depth, watered down, and milky. In addition, I think the black sesame drink barely had any black sesame flavor because it seemed they used powder instead of paste. The powder all settled to the bottom and barely extracted any flavor. The stationary portion of the store was very big! I really liked the idea of having that giant canvas where everyone could test out their pens by incorporating their art or writing. It felt like a collaboration with the community.
