This place was great! Service was quick and friendly, food was delicious, the establishment is clean and well decorated. Highly recommend this place definitely check them out. We will certainly be back

Lobera was fantastic! We had a party of 7 walk in on a Saturday night and they were able to seat us immediately, service was attentive, warm and welcoming. Siganture Margs and food were even better. Would come back here 100%!!

Stopped for a quick lunch. Please was very empty but school was out. I personally did not enjoy my tacos there were super greasy and fatty.

Absolutely delicious Mexican food! We were staying at the hotel next to it and decided to give it a try. Food was tasty and service was excellent!

Ambience and the server, Brian was great! BUT!, first of all..please allow me to say that I have lived all over the US and have eaten at various and numerous Mexican restaurants. Because this place had a 4.8 star review, I was super excited to have some delicious birria tacos. However, I was extremely disappointed. Let’s just say that an extra draft of Modelo was NEEDED to kill the after taste of whatever concoction this restaurant deemed to be birria tacos. Then again, what can I expect from a non Mexican cook..? (A lil birdy says that he is Guatemalan) My regret aside from eating here is that I did not take a pic of my food. Sorry. I had brought along two guests of whom I ordered the “sopapilla” desert to make up for the disappointing food experience. What did they get? Even more disappointment. Deep fried tortillas with a bowl of ice cream (of which I did take a picture of). Judge for yourself. If you have a palate for good Mexican food and KNOW the delicious tasting of such…do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant and try another. Stars mean nothing. Great service and ambience though!

Let’s be real Lobera doesn’t just serve tacos it’s an experience. Great location on NC State campus plus amazing service as well. If you’re in the area you should stop by.. 8/10

This place was surprisingly good. I enjoyed the loaded fries and their portions are more than enough. Dessert was theeeee highlight- stuff churros.. yum!

Hey Raleigh! I just had the most incredible food experience and I can't wait to share it with you! First off, the ambiance is simply stunning—the aesthetics are beautiful and they even have seating right by the door. Plus, the tequila selection is huge, and the menu is super extensive! As for the food, wow! It's fresh and bursting with flavor. And for anyone who loves a little kick, they offer homemade hot sauce—so good! This place is definitely a must-visit in my book for the best dining spots!

Mexican is my all time favorite type of food! My husband originally looked at Lobera's menu and noticed the margarita flight! Once we saw the margarita menu (um, yes please), we each ipted for our own regular size margarita, a.k.a. the fishbowl. Presentation was beautiful and came with a cute little rubber ducky that we took home. We got the chorizo OK so which was so smooth and creamy and not spicy at all. my husband ordered the two burrito plate and I got the shrimp over rice with queso which is now my new favorite dish! All the staff were super friendly and very accommodating. We had a great time and definitely will be back. Dessert will probably be on the menu for next time.

Very good menu variety. Nice and quick service. I had beef tacos and my friend had tacos supremos with a margarita which she said was great. We would return.

It's been a long time since we've used this word: obsessed. The staff is SO nice and attentive (we loved Sherlin). The tacos were fresh and delicious, the chicken melt beautifully flavorful (expectedly crunchy toast in a good way), I could do a Ted Talk on how good the birria egg rolls are (juicy, flavorful, but not overpowering). Salsa is the individual cantina style. The hibiscus cocktail I got with vodka and 10/10. Rave reviews from the tablemates for the pineapple mango marg. Cannot wait to come back!! On Saturday at 1pm were able to order from the Lunch, Brunch, or full regular menu. Lots of comfy booths, sports TVs (including split screens), and high or low top table options. Easy street parking!

I was visiting a friend in the NC State area, and we went to lunch at Lobera. They had a very nice lunch specials menu - with savings of several $ over the regular menu price for the same item. The taco salad and Big Wolf burrito were our choices and they were both delicious. I like that they serve chips and salsa and everyone gets their own salsa dish - prevents double dipping worries! Sweet tea - or unsweetened - was included with the lunch specials, so that was very nice. I would highly recommend this newish restaurant.

I've come here for brunch with friends and this place hits all items on my checklist! We enjoy sharing a pitcher of margarita for Sunday brunch and have tried a variety of flavors and are all delicious and at a good price. The staff is always friendly, welcoming and helpful when ordering. I have tried all the items pictured and can say they are all tasty. The birria grilled cheese is a favorite among friends. I will happily continue doing business with them:)

Lobera came highly recommended by our CC company, so we made a reservation for Sunday night. We likely didn't need one as it was pretty dead when we got there, but it never hurts. We enjoyed the typical Mexican restaurant chips and salsa to start. My boyfriend had a chicken, cheese, and rice dish. I had the chicken fajitas. Both were delicious, but slightly less flavorful than some of our other meals in Raleigh. The service was great, maybe too great. Our only complaint is that the food came a little too fast. We had hardly started enjoying the chips and salsa when our meal came, 3-4 minutes after we ordered.

Was craving some Mexican and wanted to try something new. This restaurant is right in front of NC State off of Hillsborough Street. The service was quick, as soon as we went to order our second round of free chips and salsa, our main dishes came out. I ordered the chicken and steak fajitas, the seasoning was very light, definitely more of a natural char from the cast iron. I really appreciated that the meat was cut thin, it made it so much easier to eat when making my fajitas tacos. I opted for the street corn instead of the rice and beans. I enjoyed it, just know it's heavy on the lemon. My happy food dance was matched by the old school salsa playing, it made the ambiance feel more authentic!

I will dream about the cilantro salad with chicken for a LONG TIME! I was staying at the aloft hotel right above and got in late my first night. Ordered online via uber and it was ready so fast. Service was pleasant and polite. But DAMN the cilantro salad knocked my socks off. LOADED with flavor and crispy bits and so much chicken and vegetables... I could barely find the lettuce haha. Also pleasantly surprised it came with a big bag of chips with salsa too. Also ordered tres leche cake, pretty good (I'm bias bc my BFs mom makes a damn good one), very rich sweet treat to end the night! 10/10 recommend!

If you're looking for a nice dinner not far from NC State central campus, look no further! Lobera is right on Hillsborough street and is definitely one of the nicer spots. My boyfriend and I were there this past weekend to meet up with his best friend from college and his girlfriend. The tables are decently spaced so we could chat without having to yell over people. Lobera does give you complimentary chips and salsa while you wait for your meal. The margarita is also very good but I'd recommend on the rocks over frozen if you're driving home - the frozen option is about 16oz. I had the mole enchiladas with chicken which are pretty hard to mess up, but still delicious. All in all, a very nice meal with friends!

I loved libera. Their Carr Asada was delicious. I got two prices of thin tender steak, rice, refried beans topped with cheese, salad and a big roasted pepper. The tacos and enchiladas were very good. The service was great. The pitcher of margaritas is big

My husband and I dined in at Lobera for dinner and were not very impressed. I ordered the Signature Lobera margarita and my husband had a mojito. The margarita was not the best but the mojito was delicious so I ordered one of those next. We started off with the queso to enjoy with the chips and salsa then it was the enchiladas de mole with an order of the mexican street corn for me and the vegan burrito for my husband. My meal was just okay, there was way too much cotija cheese on the corn. They just opened recently so I will have to come back and check it out again.

Amazing lunch at this New Mexican restaurant next to NC State Campus. Server was very attentive and our meal was delicious. These are lunch specials for $9.99 and they come with your tea or soft drink. Of course chips and salsa as well!

First time visiting this place and I went on Sunday, their drink specials are $6 mojitos all flavors. I got two, a pineapple one and mango one . Too much mint in the drinks and a bit on the sweet side, but they were ok. I also got the birria egg rolls which had beef, cheese and cilantro in it. It came with like 8 pieces and was filling. I'll try this place out again and try some different foods and drinks.

Cute spot right on Hillsborough street playing music onto the street. We walked in around 6:15 pm and were seated immediately. They brought us water and chips and salsa, each with our own salsa dish! House margaritas were only $5 on Mondays! Husband and I both ordered one and they were average. Ordered birria egg rolls for appetizers. Husband and son loved them. I ordered the arroz con pollo -- huge bowl with lots of tasty, lean chicken. Husband and son both ordered the chipotle burrito. Nice presentation, delicious and filling. What a gem this place is right on Hillsborough street! We'll definitely be back.

I love the location and openness of the resteraunt and their desserts were fantastic (we got chocolate ball one). The staff while slim helped each other out and was very pleasant. But I was disappointed in their rice. I got the AC with steak, chicken, and shrimp and with a dish like they its dependent on great rice and I was not impressed. I tried the lime and cilantro rice which I enjoyed, and my son loved his tacos, they even cooked his onions, when he said he wasn't a raw onion fan. I will definetly try them again and hope It was just an off night on the rice. (plus I want to try a margharitta flight)

Awesome New Mexican restaurant across from the NCSU Bell Tower attached to the Aloft hotel. Huge adventurous Mexican inspired menu including a wide assortment of tacos, enchiladas, burritos, ceviche, sushi(yes really and it's good), birria ramen, salads, and much more! Very delicious, fresh food! The service was perfect, fast, and professional! The location is awesome, especially if you get a window seat, with the windows open. They're in the old Ganza location but they do it even better, and they're open for lunch!

Sherlin was an amazing server!!! The place was nice, the food was great and fast. It was an absolute joy to be there and I'm thankful I found it on yelp!

Carry out order. Cilantro salad w chicken, chips and guacamole Good overall. Good portions of chicken w salad and guacamole serving was ample. My only issue w the texture of the chicken. Possibly overcooked, a bit too chewy for me. I'd go back and give them another chance to make it right.

The service was excellent; our server was very attentive. You definitely get your money's worth for the food, and it tastes fresh. Everything was seasoned well and reminded me of authentic Mexican food

My goodness! Saw a reel on Instagram about this place and decided to give it a try. It was worth it! We had Birria Eggrolls for the appetizer and they were absolutely delicious. I ordered Pollo Al Fogon with grilled veggies as my side. So good. Definitely recommend this spot.

I have been wanting to try this place for a little while since I am a student at NC State. It was delicious. Server was super helpful providing food recommendations and this "simple quesadilla" (quesadilla sencilla) was SUPER delicious. Food came quickly and everything tasted amazing. Will be back for sure!!

Stopped for a late lunch at this "hot and new" Mexican and had the Mar & Tierra tacos with Steak, shrimp, and guacamole on a cheesy tortilla. This is a very impressive quality dish served with three heaping tacos and I had the cilantro rice as a side-also very tasty. Everything came out great, very well presented and hot. The flavors with the main ingredients worked. Try it! Service was spot on, Minerva was very attentive and helpful with my questions. Location is next to the Aloft across from NC State State Bell Tower and shares parking with the hotel which can be tricky but worth it. Great variety including Mexican Sushi which I didn't try - maybe next time.

Staff extremely welcoming and friendly. Nice and bright inside - Instagram worthy while being homey as well. Authentic Mexican food with top quality fresh ingredients. Food was top notch - will be back!

Had a great lunch here! The food was good - tried the queso, carne asada fries, and beef taco salad. The service great - it took a little long to get the margarita pitcher, but otherwise everyone was very attentive and asked multiple times if we needed anything. The inside was nice - though parking was a little difficult. Overall it was good and would definitely recommend!

Tasty fajitas, massive burritos and delicious drinks! They were running a special for free queso the day that we visited, it was pretty good!

We have been here twice and each time has been great. The prices are right. The attention to customers is perfect and the food is on point and caters to the simple to the fancy. If you need a recommendation I would suggest the barbacoa tacos. They are decadent. Go! Enjoy a margarita and some tacos!

This restaurant is very clean and beautiful inside. The food is good and they have a wide variety of options and the drink menu (including a very extensive tequila selection) is great! It is family owned and all of the staff are friendly.

Ashley was a great bartender and server. The spicy margaritas are amazing and the egg rolls with birria are great and so are the plaintain. Cute restaurant on a usually boring hillsborough st.

The food was amazing! I was greatly surprised with how much I loved it. The service was fast and kind. I love the cute style of the restaurant! Definitely a place to go with friends or family!

The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was very similar to Gonza which use to be in the same spot. The drinks were also great with a delicious cucumber/jalapeño margarita. The food was a bit lacking in taste however. The tacos had no bite in any direction including the cilantro, pineapple or even the pickled onion. An overall average experience.

This restaurant was such a good experience! My friend and I went for lunch, the service was amazing, the margaritas were such a good price for how big they were and they tasted sooo good, I got the burrito chipotle and my friend got enchiladas, both were such a good price for how much food you got and the taste was amazing! The restaurant was super cute and they have a big window that you can sit next to when the weather is nice. The waitresses were super sweet and attentive as well! We loved everything about this restaurant and definitely recommend it!
