Yelp
After having a cold mayo lobster roll in Cape Cod, I was really craving a hot, buttered CT style lobster roll. We found this place on Yelp as we were driving for a long time through CT; this was conveniently located off the highway so it's great if you're driving down 95. It's in a parking lot next to an auto shop, and there are 2 picnic tables outside so you can eat there.
The menu is not super big, which I actually like because I'd rather have a place specialize in certain things, and the food tends to be fresher this way. As their name implies, they specialize in lobster rolls, but they also serve clam rolls, just fries, hot dogs, and a few other things.
You can get a smaller lobster roll ($18), or an XL large one ($28 inclusive of tax); I believe the smaller lobster roll comes with fries - the XL one does not (I wish it did - at least just a little would have been nice) My husband and I shared the XL lobster roll, and I thought it would be much longer than it was. It was probably 10 inches or so, but there was a lot of lobster packed into the lobster sandwich, so I was still happy with this. The chunks of lobster in the sandwich were fresh, large, warm, and plentiful, and the bun was soft, buttery and hot, with the edges and outside toasted. It comes with a small thing of melted butter to dip your sandwich or lobster pieces into.
Lunch here won't be cheap at around $19 per person for a lobster roll, but it's certainly cheaper than getting a lobster roll at a restaurant. And it's lobster, so it's going to be expensive - it's not a hot dog. For the quality and size of the lobster roll that you get, you would probably be paying ~$25 at a restaurant.
I'd definitely come back here again to get another lobster roll. Don't miss this if you're looking for a good, fresh CT lobster roll at reasonable prices.
