Mike is great, this was the best fish and seafood we’ve ever had! We ate it all raw and it was super fresh and flavorful for our sushi night. Highly recommend!

This is my go-to place for sustainable fresh fish! Whenever I want to make fresh poke bowls, this is always my first stop. I love that they carry tuna toro, perfect for fresh sushi nights at home. The quality and freshness of their seafood never disappoint. The team is fantastic—they always make sure my filets are perfectly prepared and portioned just how I like them. Highly recommend for anyone who loves high-quality seafood and exceptional service!

Local 130 was recommended by our neighbor. They seem very friendly and helpful in the store. We were looking for salmon burgers that they were out but we hope to go back again.

Terrible company. Ordered $50 worth of prawns with $30 for shipping on top. The lady on the phone said it would be here yesterday it still isn't here. And now, apparently, it's just rolling around on a UPS van in 23-degree weather. I had a very important client I was cooking for who specifically requested these Skull Island prawns. Now, this has cost me my reputation and my money due to their negligent delivery service. Companies that sell perishables are supposed to abide by certain guidelines to ensure freshness. On top of this not one single phone call was answered to provide an explanation!

I prepared a fresh ceviche with red snapper and sushi salmon. Local 130 has fresh fish every time.

Service is excellent and personal. The scallops and sushi grade salmon was extremely fresh and delicious. Very rustic place but these guys know seafood.

This small seafood establishment has always been a place where nice associations are formed, it goes with the neighborhood, and the lifestyle of this area. Many people enjoy the interaction that we engage in at the post office, the gas station, the barber shop, the butcher, the fruit store, etc. Here there seems to be a very definite history of the great staff members moving on, sometimes with little or no notice, and it has impacted the comfort level for me, and for many of the people who also frequented the store. The product has been good, at times excellent, but the overall experience has been greatly diminished by some real nice people who were employed there leaving. I don't feel the same joy supporting a business that seems to have a pattern of upsetting what appears to be excellent employees, and this is by no means a negative statement on the new people who come in to replace the one's who leave. I sure the new ones are very nice too. It all just creates this sense of sadness and negativity about and towards the ownership and overall establishment. I guess in life some of us reach an age, or a point, where what we put in our body has to do with more than the food itself. It connects to the vibe, the humanity factor, the trust, etc. I have stopped going to Local 130 after the last person left, almost without exception. And I am a customer who was there a minimum of once a week for several years.

What a great local fish store. Everything is extremely fresh and you know it's good when they run out because they sell what they catch. Prices are reasonable and you can get a good amount for what you would like. While this place is definitely not something that you could go to for catering a large party, I feel like if you work with the owners they could help you. By the way, I bought some of the best tuna I have ever had in my life there. So excited to have this place in my new neighborhood.

I know that they are working through some quirks of their setup with the Madison Marquette folks but let's get real here. This is some great food and fresh, perfectly shucked oysters. We've eaten there now 6 times and will try to make it many more times in the near future. We've gone from food in the convention center that you literally couldn't eat to some awesome seafood. Oysters are the best. Love the selection so far. Perfectly shucked and with a fine mignonette. Fresh horseradish on request. All the dishes are great. Fish and chips quite good. Scallops nearly perfect. My only complaint is that they need some better wine selections to pair with the oysters. How about an Albariño by the glass? A Muscadet? A Chablis? Keep it up, folks. You're doing fine and it's going to get better.

This is for the boardwalk location but oh my gosh don't go! I was sat coming off the boardwalk wearing shorts and a sports bra, had bar staff interact with me and tell me how to order, and then was approached after not having my order taken for 10 minutes and twiddling my thumbs by wait staff escorting me out because I wasn't wearing a shirt...after being sat! I'm sorry but you guys are on the boardwalk and have to account for people being at the beach...it's really not that fancy of a joint. It's sad because I was about to spend a bunch on oysters & drinks and would have been a very loyal customer over the years otherwise. Lost a customer for life!

The seafood here is all sourced locally. It is fresh daily and super good quality. Support local!

Good selection and helpful staff. The quality is always great, we've enjoyed many a big eye tuna, salmon and lump crab from them!

Amazing shop that offers fresh locally sourced seafood at reasonable prices. They even educate you on what they have and how to prepare it. A gem in the neighborhood and nothing has been as fresh as this place. Often pickup sushi grade fish for my at home sushi adventures.

Stay away from this company if you want to order for delivery. The Uni packaging was a mess with yellow liquid filled in the bag! It looked really gross! The management ignored the email I sent in about the issue. They just grabbed the money and disappeared.

We recently discovered Local 130. So far we've only gotten fish for poke bowls. It says something about their quality and care of their product when you can eat it raw, have tons of flavor, and not get sick. The fish is beyond fresh and the people are always friendly and helpful. I won't buy fish anywhere else. (Also, the store is so clean you don't even smell fish when you walk in - another bonus)

For a state with 130 miles of coastline fresh fish markets are somewhat hard to come by. Especially when you get to the towns miles inland. We stumbled upon Local 130 Seafood at the farmers market in Marlboro. I'm really glad they came to the market because I'm not sure we'd find them otherwise (even though Asbury Park is a very short drive). The market is small but has lots of local/semi-local fresh fish. Prices are pretty reasonable for fresh, quality seafood. Service was exceptionally friendly. Free parking in the front is easy to find. We purchased toro, tuna and black seabass this trip and all were fresh and delicious. I'll definitely be back again soon.

Picked up some Grouper last night. It was so fresh and delicious. Very friendly staff and also gave his recommendation on how long to grill it. They never disappoint

Really great local seafood shop. Loses a point because it is not great for big groups as their daily supply is limited and they don't have a lobster tank. But if you are looking to cook for a family of 4, it is perfection.

I got 2dz little necks and was apprehensive because the were heavy for their sz. I thought they may be filled with sandy clay or sand I bread crumbed the water and to my Suprise no grit anywhere. Then I mixed with my Taggatiley, wine and butter. Not one specal of sand or clay

The sushi-grade salmon I procured at Local 130 Seafood was unbelievably fresh. Probably some of the best salmon I've ever had. You can tell it's fresh when it doesn't smell like fish or have a "fishy" taste. I just stood there at home at my wooden cutting board and consumed it after wrapping slices in seaweed using my manly "Hello Kitty" chopsticks.

Was able to throw together dinner for 6 people easily! Everyone was impressed by the freshness and quality of the seafood. Highly recommend

AMAZING! They just rolled out their lunch menu. Last week, we enjoyed the fried monkfish and today we devoured the lobster roll. The fish is fresh and the staff is friendly/helpful. We also took home scallops and mahi.....perfection. I highly recommend visiting Local 130 to fresh fish to take home or enjoy their menu. Next week we are trying the fish and chips.

Quality seafood, very fresh. Love their oysters and clams. The fish and chips are excellent. Could easily share 1 order with 2 people, as it's a huge portion. Ceviche and soft shell crab sandwich are also great choices.

I strongly recommend the sushi grade salmon and tuna. It's super fresh. They chop it up for you. You end up getting a pretty decent amount of sashimi for 10 dollars.

My cousins introduced us to Local 130 and I'm so glad they did. The fish and seafood are absolutely fabulous and they are super friendly and efficient. Local 130 delivers next day in NJ and all of their fish and seafood is super fresh. I don't think I could get the fish any fresher if I went out on a boat myself. They also ship outside NJ. My wife and I are foodies and we so appreciate great ingredients and super fresh fish. I highly, highly recommend them. We have found a new favorite place to order from and I am so glad we can support such a fantastic business. Also, shout out to Ed who has been delivering to us who is great.

Came here to buy the fixings for a seafood boil for my buddy's bachelor party. Got a whole bunch of clams, mussels, and shrimp. Everything was amazing. Fresh and reasonably priced. Service was top notch - friendly, knowledgeable, and they went out of their way to make sure everything I bought was top quality and packed everything so it would be easy for me to transport. Was the highlight of our weekend. Can't recommend enough.

Wow. Really disappointed with this place! Paid extra money for two pieces of FILLETED fish to come home and find a lot of bones in it. Brought the fish back because I really wanted to like this place and support local fishermen. When I told the young man working there my issue with finding bones in a filet, he dismissed me and told me "that's just how it comes". No offer of taking the bones out, a refund, and exchange. No resolution at all. When you pay DOUBLE to have the fish filleted, one usually expects to receive what they have paid for. Not here.

My husband and I were down at the shore for our 10-year anniversary. We stopped into Local 130 for a quick bite for lunch and were blown away by the fresh seafood and friendly service. Everything we had was fresh and delicious, and the owner Eric made us feel right at home. We plan to come here every time we come down to the shore.

I first became aware of Local 130 seafood while attending a Taste of Asbury restaurant tour. I remember thinking people working there were pleasant and the fish was great. Living in Brick NJ I had little contact with this fine establishment until the Covid 19 disaster. I did not want to venture out into the crowds to procure some fresh fish and saw an online advertisement for the delivery of local fish! Amazing ..how could this be accomplished with such a delicate cargo. The answer... The best shrimp I have ever had in my 62 years and a fantastic delivery system that actually has the driver call when the fish(packed in a cooler arrives). Kudos to great fish and great ingenuity!!! Buying my fish here from now on Pandemic or not.

Had the poke bowl and took two Salmon Burgers home for dinner (pan fried them with some butter and olive oil). The quality of the fish is outstanding, so I have to give this place 5 stars. My one criticism is that the rice in the poke bowl was just normal white rice. It was not sushi rice (which I think just has rice vinegar added which gives it the sticky texture). The quality of the tuna and the marinade still made the poke bowl 5 stars for me though.

Excited to see the purveyors of fine local-caught seafood from Asbury Fresh have set up their brick and mortar seafood store in Asbury Park. We have always loved their food and cooking tips, and I really appreciate their focus on local caught seafood and sustainable seafood from other places (eg Alaska salmon). Favorites so far have been the scallops, which we have grilled or prepared crudo style. Next week they hope to start carrying shellfish.

This place has some great fish. And great people working there. James cut me a beautiful swordfish steak the other day and they had the freshest scallops. They were only 7 hours old and could be eaten raw. They have a big selection.

Awesome. Simply the best, freshest, cleanest seafood we've have found anywhere. We live in Milltown and discovered them at the Rutgers Farm Market on Ryders Lane in New Brunswick where they come every two weeks. What a great find! Looking forward to checking out the store in Asbury Park too!

Wow! First time at this place and the fish was amazing as well as reasonably priced. We asked for help in selecting a fish for tacos, and the recommendation was perfect! We did, however, have to be careful for the bones. Though it was a filet, there was a strip of bones in one section. It was delicious!

We need more of this kind of seafood market: featuring a wide variety of seafood from this region, types of delicious seafood such as porgies, black sea bass, whiting, Cape May salts, and more that are so rarely sold in Nj markets. Thanks to Asbury Fresh and Eric for doing this.
