This is a great locally owned restaurant especially if you want a fast and clean eating experience for a lunch time break. This place gets very very busy around lunch time and you can see why. The food is fresh and fast cooked in front of your eyes and prepared for you as you watch. Wood Fired Grill how's the basic premise, epic the plate you want whether it be an entree and signs, a wrap or a salad. Then you pick your protein. And off you go. Play also have vegetarian options if you have dietary restrictions within your group. When we went there was a line and the restaurant was full love diners. We were able to order and get our food within a few minutes brought out to our table. You have your choice of drinks and then you pay as well as getting a choice of sauces to go with your meal. One person in my group ordered a hummus plate as a vegetarian option. This dish came out with plenty of pita bread and generous portion of hummus. Another person ordered grilled chicken as their protein with two sides. When you look at the list of signs that are available you have to then verify that those sides are available that day. There's also a daily specials as well for the sides. So sometimes ordering off the menu Isn't a possibility if that particular side is not available. This happened with this order, the original side chosen was not available and so they went with steamed broccoli. This came with rice, steamed broccoli and a generous portion of chicken breast that was grilled as we watched. This also come with pita. The southwestern salad with grilled chicken was a generous size salad and came with to dressing containers. It was a good balance of chicken to salad ratio. The southwestern components included tortilla strips, corn, beans, and pickled jalapenos on one of their regular salads. Well I could use a little bit more dressing for my particular taste, I enjoyed the solid and left the feeling filled as well as having eaten a clean fresh healthy lunch. The atmosphere can be a little overwhelming because it is a small location especially at lunch with the large crowd of people trying to get their meals. The surface is fast so don't worry about the wait times. It's in a very busy area of Alpharetta off of Windward Parkway so it is hard to find parking in the very small and cramped parking lot for the strip of stores. If you are driving their plan to spend some time looking for a parking spot

​I had dinner at a local wood-fire grill recently and my experience was just average. I ordered the chicken plate, and while the grilled flavor was noticeable, the overall taste was underwhelming. My friend got the chicken wrap, and it unfortunately lacked any flavor at all. On a positive note, the fries were delicious, but the portion size was quite small, which was a disappointment. The food was okay, but it definitely wasn't anything special. Based on the food, I'd give it 3 stars.

Local Expedition Wood Fired Grill in Alpharetta is a hit with my family! We love the smoky flavor of their chicken, and pulled pork, the street corn, and all the sides. It's a small but cozy spot with a delicious smell of smoke and the grill. Ordering at the kiosk is super convenient and fast.

The food was amazing and Pretty awesome. The cost of a meal and portion size is just right. We're ordering is quick and easy. The sides they offer are pretty good. Really enjoyed the beat kale quinoa side they offer.

Very fast service. Line and u tell them what u want and they quickly put on plate. Paid $22 for mine got xtra. Great service and food was very good.

Only ever has takeout here, but pretty consistent experience every time. The place is always packed with the typical Alpharetta demographic, and parking is a train wreck but you can usually find one of the very few number of parking spots available right outside. The food for takeout has required a long way than I would have liked in all but one of my five or so times ordering takeout here. The food is fantastic and one of the best around for truly healthy eats. Cannot comment on the service inside the restaurant. Lots of teens and young adults as well as families as far as the vibe goes. Fantastic food

Lovely little place. I had a salad. The dressing is absolutely delicious and the lettuce is crunchy.

My Mom and and I went. We got our food in less than 3min of ordering. I highly recommend the Caesar salad w chicken and a side of Pita. 10/10 recommend. It was so good. I cannot wait to come back again. The atmosphere was nice, a little noisy. But their Service was excellent. Everyone was nice and speedy in their delivery.

You can find Local Expedition Wood Fired Grill at 5315 Windward Pkwy Ste B Alpharetta, GA 30004. The business is in a free-standing building shared with Masters Barber Shop, across from Truist bank. Parking can be a bit iffy in this lot but there's plenty in the surrounding area if you don't mind a short walk - the place gets very busy so there can sometimes be a line. I visited this place with my BIL for lunch - this is a fast casual restaurant where you get in line to order. They call out receipt numbers when your food is ready - there seems to be a lot of staff so they may at times deliver your food. For the most part everything is self-service. They specialize in wraps and have several fresh sides. I ordered a chicken plate with green beans and broccoli - the chicken is grilled and cubed up, served on a bed of white rice - the veggies were blanched and sauteed. You also get two pita wedges (never have understood why places like this skimp on the pita - I mean you get a whole piece when you buy a wrap and two-four pieces is never enough for a plate). The chicken was moist with light char and a bit of smokiness - quite good. My BIL ordered a chicken plate with zucchini and potato salad - which he thought excellent (he's visited many times so may be a bit biased). In all I thought it a good experience - the place is very busy so it suffers a bit on cleanliness (not that it's particularly dirty, but you can see visible evidence of wear and there's a food odor in the air). Since it's all self-service there wasn't much staff-interaction so hard to grade that aspect other than the friendliness of the person at the register.

Happily impressed with the Local Expedition Wood Fired Grill. I met my daughter for a quick dinner. I arrived before her and secured us a table as seating is limited. I ordered the Hummus plate with warm Pita Bread as to stave off my hunger as I waited. It was very good! Once my daughter arrived we ordered a Chinese Chicken Salad and the Grilled Chicken with 2 sides. Everything was hot and fresh and delivered expeditiously. Our to go orders of wings and a pork plate for our significant others were equally tasty. I will definitely return when I'm in the area and wanting something quick, healthy & delicious. We loved the craft fountain drinks especially the cream sodas. They have an abundant choice of bottled drinks too. I love the Bundaberg Ginger Beer from AUS! (I have just returned from AUS and it was one of my favorites!)

I had such high expectations of this place from other reviews and honestly it was a let down. The food is mediocre and the portions are not a lot, for their plates they just give you a ton of rice, 4 pieces of chicken and whatever sides you picked 1-2. When I went home and ate it, all I saw was rice. I ate the chicken and threw the rest out cause it was so disappointing.

I like the food, lots of healthy options and dairy free items are labeled. I could not enjoy my meal though because the entire time I was there people without handicap placards kept using the handicap parking spot as a place to park their car while they went in for pick up. It is a small and busy parking lot which I guess made these able bodied jerks feel entitled to a few minutes but news flash if someone is consistently using it for "a few minutes" then it's not available for the people who need it

Quick food but great variety and delicious, plus you can feel like you're eating on the healthier side if that's your MO. I like the tray style option for food - pick between ... lets you sample some items and they do American food well with flavor and fun produce options

I really like how this establishment prepares different veggies and keeps the menu just varied enough to keep customers coming. The ordering process is a bit confusing for first timers but there are devices by the front door to put your order in. You can also order at the counter but they will refer you to the device if they are too busy. The interior can easily feel quite cramped because of limited seating and oftentimes when I go, there's a lot of people. The food is really good and the portions are big. I especially loved the Local fries and their roasted corn! The rice was cooked unevenly; some grains were overdone and some were underdone. The chicken was tender and came in big chunks but definitely needed sauce to give it more flavor other than an overall smokiness.

Good food and a clean restaurant. It is fast casual so there isn't really service but everyone you encounter seems to care about their job and the experience. Will continue to go back when in the area

I love this restaurant. All the food is so good! My favorite meat is the pork, but my son loves the grilled chicken. I love all the side dishes and sauces. Everything is so flavorful and healthy!!

Loved trying this new place! The salads were by far the best thing on the menu- loved the southwestern salad! I got extra dressing which really elevated the dish. I also loved their root beer, which is made locally I believe! Everything came promptly and to order, we will definitely go back!

my newest addiction... I come here twice a week and order a few meals and use it to meal prep. The food is fresh and the service is always good! The are so many good sides... its always so hard to choose. Even if its busy the line seems to always move quickly...I just wish there were more locations

I visited at the end of last year and we were very disappointed. Not sure what was in the food we ordered but we all have gotten sick when we got home. Our stomachs were hurting. Too bad I enjoyed this establishment in the past but will stay away for a while.

I got the grilled chicken breast with spaghetti squash/spinach and baked cauliflower. It is sooo good! Chicken is flavorful and tender, squash and cauliflower is delicious and the sauce is amazing! Staff is so friendly! Came from Dallas for the week. What a treat! Good job!

LOVE this place! The food is always amazing and never fails to disappoint through the years that I've been coming here. The meat is always juicy and tender, their sauces perfectly complement the flavor, and there isn't a single side that I've tried that hasn't exceeded my expectations. The service is quick and it runs like a Chipotle line where the food is made to order. The overall ambiance is also wonderful with the wooden interior and large windows letting in natural lighting. I HIGHLY recommend their street corn!! It is so delicious and addicting.

Awesome veggie options which makes my heart happy! Have to agree that some signage would be helpful for 1st time guests. We walked back and forth to the cashier a couple of times before he finally provided clear instructions... Search for menus under the Yelp sign on the side of the glass case, then look up to the board with the daily side options hanging on a board, then inform the person behind the counter there of your order, then stroll to the cashier and pay. Pick up any sauces...hubby preferred the bbq and buffalo chickenish flavor. Of my 3 sides...spinach/spaghetti squash was my favorite, sweet potatoes, then seared brussel sprouts were a bit spicy/crunchy even for me. Pita was soft and warm. Hubby enjoyed his chicken, rice, cauliflower/peas, and broccoli. Very close to the Costco and parking in close areas if the immediate spot are filled. Hummus platter was tasty..not very large, more pita bread than hummus. Busy place which I found to be a positive sign ! Thanks Yelpers for this recommendation!

Amazing food and quick service. The chicken is extremely tender and juicy and all the sides are super flavorful. Would highly recommend getting the plate with chicken but the other proteins are also just as good. A solid spot for lunch if you work near the area and will definitely be back soon.

This is my favorite place in the whole state of Georgia. Been going since 2018. My ideal order: Grilled Chicken Plate, sweet potatoes, broccoli or Brussels sprouts. They have basmati rice so if you aren't a fan you can sub for a salad, no extra charge. You must try the fries once atleast. Cooked to a perfect crisp texture. All the sauces are made in house and my favorite is the lemon garlic. The workers are friendly and don't change often which is an amazing sign. If you're wanting healthy and organic, hormone free foods, go here. The portion size is huge, I often get a chicken plate with two sides and can have left overs for my next meal. It can get packed but they have an order online or a kiosk at the front if you're in a rush. I prefer to stand in line because the place is inviting and has a great vibe.

The Local Expedition Wood Fired Grill serves excellent food. The pulled pork is tender snd delicious. The fries are very good -- light and crunchy -- not greasy. The grilled chicken is also good. The service is good but there is no table-side service -- just walk up and order. The ambiance is typical for a casual place. All in all, the food is the star.

One of my go to spots to eat in the Alpharetta area. Food is always fresh and comes out quickly despite the restaurant being busy. Sauces are great and there is a great selection of healthy food options. The staff is also friendly. My only con is that during the weekday lunch it can sometimes get very crowded leaving no room to sit down inside. They do offer take away. Highly recommend!

Upon walking in, I was pretty confused about where and how to order. There was no greeting or instructions. I walked over to the cashier and requested a handheld menu, he guided me to the food counter and provided me one. As I was reviewing the menu, I went back to the cashier to order and pay. A different cashier sent me back to the food counter to order. After this unnecessary confusion walking back and forth literally 5 times, my order was finally placed. Very chaotic! Please provide clear communication to your customer. I ordered the chicken plate with rice and maple glazed carrots. The food feels very healthy, wholesome, and nutritious and it's a good option if you don't want to cook but still want to eat well. I'm happy that they offered me sauce on the side because the chicken tasted a bit dry and flavorless and the rice texture needed improvement. The maple glazed carrots were tasty. Overall, a decent to-go option in the Alpharetta area.

Definitely don't understand the great reviews of this place. Basically an overpriced Zoe's Kitchen. The Mediterranean salad was horrible. Basically a big pile of Romain lettuce. The tomatoes and cucumbers were so finely chopped that it was hard to grab them with a fork. The grilled chicken was pretty good, but that's about it. Waste of money! My wife said her pulled pork was dry and tasted like it was sitting there all day. We were here at noon, so no excuse for that at all. She said the sweet potatoes and fries were nothing special either. My son liked his street corn and smoked wings, so that's a positive. Overall, not worth going.

This is one of the best places I've eaten recently and such a pleasant surprise from most restaurants these days. Incredibly fresh and tasty ingredients with large portion sizes. Truly a lot of great options to choose from here. You have pita wrap options, protein options, salads, and more. I cannot wait to come back and try more off the menu. It was also not terribly priced. They make their own sodas as well. The sauces are key, especially the lemon garlic and the spicy southwest sauce. Good comes out quickly and you order at the counter or on the computers when you 1st walk inside. Wish there were more of these around!

Wonderful flavor and a lot of food! This place is pretty highly rated with lots of reviews so we thought we need to try it. I can see why they get such good ratings. The food is well done! However the wings do not come with a wing sauce on them... you select your sauce and it comes out in a separate little container. Normally I like that... but the sauce I chose was just ok... I wanted a Buffalo sauce but that was not a selection. A place that sells wings and no Buffalo sauce... really? The sauce I got was a bbq sauce and it was ok. Each sauce you get is a charge... I think they need a sampler sauce option for newbies... like I was. They were also just starting out using some ordering kiosks and that experience... especially for a first time orderer, was very clunky. I'm sure the system is better now but it was slightly confusing then. They readily admitted that they were getting used to it too. The location is great! The people were very nice, the food was good and plentiful. I'd definitely go back again.

I have to say I wouldn't recommend the hummus plate after today. Very little hummus and only two olives, mostly pita for $7.00. I will be getting hummus at Milton Tavern or Eclipse di Luna next time. Disappointing since we liked it here in the past. I also got the southwest salad with chicken tonight and the chicken was very dry. Maybe this was just an off night, but it's disappointing to pay almost $50 with tip and not enjoy the food. My husband did like his LA street corn and rice but agreed the chicken was off tonight.

I normally LOVE all the food here. But I very disappointed today. I got takeout. Mexican street corn- a ten. Delicious. But it all went downhill from there. Potstickers were SO greasy and tasteless. Vegan curry - TINY portion. Soupy uninteresting mess of potatoes, onions and carrots. Maple glazed carrots? ZERO glaze. Just carrots. Black sesame Sweet potatoes? Again, ZERO sesame flavor. I paid $30 for a yummy ear of corn, greasy (didn't eat them) pot stickers, and plain, orange vegetables. Very disappointed.

I could tell this was going to be 5 stars within seconds of walking in. First of all, it smells amazing and the decor is super cute. I love the ordering kiosks and that you see your food being prepared. They have an awesome selection of Stubborn soda and a different section with pretty much any other drink you'd want. So, as for the food. I got the pulled pork with two sides (local fries and brussel sprouts). Everything was perfect. The pork was tender, the fries were some of the best I've ever had, Brussels were perfectly cooked and the naan was fresh and delicious. The total was $16 dollars which is slightly pricey but it's worth it. Also, I tried all the sauces. I wasn't crazy about the barbecue but the cilantro and garlic sauces were incredible.

I honestly don't know how this has so many highly rated reviews. Food was just ok with very small portions for the money if you don't count the copious amount of dried out rice they include for filler. Prices aren't even listed on the menu like their food is so good it shouldn't matter how much stuff costs. Their water cups are so tiny that it's an inconvenience to drink water like the cups you get at a dentists office to rinse your mouth out. Not much atmosphere here, just your normal whole in the wall joint with uncomfortable chairs and benches with wobbly tables. Even though the food was decent, I most likely won't go back.

My sister and I decided to try the local after hearing so many good things for many years, and we did it to go as an alternative to going out on Valentine's Day Online ordering was an easy process and our food was prepared on time, and we did curbside pickup which was even better! We even went close to closing and it was still great! We each got a plate with 2 sides and a hummus appetizer to share. To be honest, we could done without the hummus because the plate was huge but we got a little greedy! The hummus appetizer was absolutely delicious! So fresh and tasty and that pita is just unbelievable. For our plates we got: Plate 1: chicken, sautéed broccoli, and the spicy fingerling potatoes with the lemon garlic sauce and the cilantro sauce Plate 2: pulled Pork, sautéed broccoli, and the roasted potatoes with the lemon garlic sauce and the cilantro sauce Both plates came with rice and some pita and these were just amazing for the dollar value! Huge portions and unbelievably tasty. We were able to get healthy food that tasted amazing! Nothing disappointed us and we wish we had tried this place sooner. Can't wait to venture eating in one day! 10/10 recommend for fresh and amazing food.

On a road trip and this fit our needs. A little chaotic to order when crowded. Food was fresh and tasty but small portions.

Top notch from start to finish, great for a lunch bite with a friend, maybe one who is like your sister who you haven't talked seen for several months, or whatever you have going on I liked ordering at the kiosk inside the door on the right and getting your own beverages. I liked that parking was easy in the strip mall. I liked the choice of beverages. I loved the food, and the clarity especially the well marked Gf/ Vegan selections, which were plentiful. I had the falafel, my friend had the smoked wings and LA Corn. Delicious!

Been going to this place for years because of their consistency but I can say they have raised prices significantly and the portions have stayed the same.

Fresh, delicious and nice atmosphere. This was our first time and we will definitely be back. It was all good. We put together our own meal and nothing disappointed. We had the LA Street Corn, green beans, Local Fries, hummus and a dozen smoked chicken wings. Tried all their sauces, but particularly like the BBQ and mustard based ones the best. The Local Fries had a lot of cool stuff on it, but could have used a little something with more of a zing. We still enjoyed them though. The staff was friendly and helpful and while the food is prepared after you order, it comes out quick. There is nothing better than the combination of fresh, tasty, quick, comfortable and good service. Like I said we will be coming back to try other things on the menu.

Great food that is a bit healthier than your typical restaurant. Many vegetarian and vegan options. Everything is delicious and at a good price.

The food was outstanding. Very unique vegetable sides. I had the grilled chicken wings. They were delicious. And my wife had the Chinese chicken salad, which she loved. We all thoroughly enjoyed the sauces. We had five people in our party and my total bill was reasonable. We had dinner to celebrate some family milestones. Very casual. Definitely going back. Wonderful experience all the way around. The dining style is more like Panera bread meets chipotle grill - but even cooler. And they do bring the food over to your table. Nice touch. Service was fine and fairly quick.

Wow wow wow. I really love this place. It's healthy, delicious, and satisfying. I got the plate with the 2 sides. I got the chicken wings with the fries and corn. Yummy! There's so many options for meat lovers and vegetarian lovers. The food quality is great. I really love the sauces. I'm a huge sauce girl! The service was quick and the workers are really friendly. It's not clear how the ordering process works but it's kind of ordering food at chipotle or cava. They are very helpful with any questions you have. There's plenty of parking. I'd love to come back!

I can't stop thinking about how good our meals were here. I used Uber Eats to order food while I was in the area helping family. Our family didn't point us to this establishment, we found it on our own thanks to Yelp. We had two orders of the plate plus one side. We both ordered pulled pork with rice. He got the street corn, which he said was delicious and it definitely looked it. I had a really hard time deciding on my side because every single side option looked so good. I finally chose the butternut squash with kale. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the sides. I'm not a vegan but this place made me really want to order a huge veggie plate. There were sides with veggies that I don't normally go for that I really wanted to try, like the red beet quinoa. Everything looked delicious. The sauces were phenomenal. Do not skip that cilantro sauce. You could tell this place really cares about the quality of their food and the experience, and this is my first perception just from food delivery. We're already looking forward to our next meal from this spot and hope we get to actually go in and sit to eat because if they can make the delivery this good I can't imagine what it's like coming out hot to the table. All the stars and all the accolades. Seriously try this place!

I love this place. Meats are smoky, grilled perfection. I highly recommend the street corn and local fries for your sides. Sauces perfectly complement the meats. I would go here every day if I worked near here. So many options for meats and sides and every one is good. Portion sizes are huge and ingredients are extremely fresh. Rice and tortilla comes with every meal.

Would never know this place was in this plaza, except for Yelp reviews. At this particular night it was easy to park but it's a small lot so I'm certain not always the case. You place your order by stepping up to the counter. Server was extra friendly, we chose a meat (chicken, pork) and then sides from the daily options. There was a line of sides on display. We chose sweet maple carrots and LA corn. The corn was great- best thing there for sure. Everyone was saying it in line and we agree. The daily side I chose (carrots) weren't cooked great. The meat was tender, and there were sauces available. We also got pulled pork. Highly recommend this choice. The pineapple was a good dessert for three to share, but probably wouldn't get again. The highlight was pork, the pita wrap that comes as a side (so soft!) , and the corn. Probably wouldn't rate this best restaurant ever- but glad we visited.

I tried this place many years ago and had to return. The food is still fresh and delicious but not overly flavored. The smoked pulled pork was tender with just the right amount of smokiness. The wings are always delicious. But the highlight was the carrots. Juicy with a good balance of savory and sweetness. You can't go wrong with the Hummus plate, either. Just the right amount of food, and the staff is friendly. Parking is a nightmare, though as it is enclosed with a tight outlet to the side of the building.

I've eaten Local several times and always love it!! But today was my first time doing catering with them. Yesterday, I submitted their online catering form and got an email back within about an hour. I needed the food for today, so they asked me to call to place the order. They offer buffet style catering or individual plates for a small upcharge. I needed food for 20 people so I went with the buffet style and got chicken, rice, zucchini, roasted potatoes, and street corn. They also provided plates, utensils, serving utensils, and gave us large containers of all their sauces. AJ, who took the order and delivered it, was incredible! We had a last minute location change and he had no problem delivering to the new address (granted, it was one street over from the original location, but still so grateful!!). He set up all the trays and serve-ware for us and was just so kind and professional. Everyone LOVED the food and kept asking where I ordered it from. Thank you AJ, Danny, and the rest of the Local Expedition team for making lunch a breeze!

Food is great, staff is friendly and the price is fair considering the product and portion sizes. The sides are my favorites. The butternut squash with kale is my go to, but I've never had a bad side. Caesar salad with chicken added and corn and squash are my favorite lunch at the moment. Parking can be tricky, but totally worth the effort.
