Great place to plant yourself for a few hours for studying, reading, or working on whatever passion projects you have. The music sets a peaceful environment, noise chatter volume is non-existent, and they do have free wi-fi. I got the seasonal Maple Matcha w/ the vanilla bean cold foam instead of pumpkin spice foam and it was delicious. The ice chunks are chewable too. They also offer a handful of small bites and pastries. Overall, cute little space on the corner!

The Local Grind in Los Alamitos is beautiful! Big windows and high ceilings, lots of natural wood, and green plants. I tried the “562” which is iced coffee, vanilla and cream - I love it! Plus all the coffee is certified organic, and it costs less than Starbucks. Wow I am impressed and I will definitely be back!

I have to say, I’m a sucker for local coffee shops. They always have that unique charm that you just can’t find at the big chain places. Local Grind is a gem in a sea of corporate coffee joints. It’s a rare find in my area, where coffee shops seem to come and go faster than a Spirit Halloween store. Located conveniently across the street from our hotel, Fairfield Inn, Local Grind was the perfect spot for our morning coffee fix. We ordered a hot chocolate, the OG funky monkey, a Mocha, and a Sunrise. Each drink had its own special flavor that set it apart from the rest. The staff was incredibly friendly and quick to whip up our drinks. They even took the time to ask if we had any questions about the menu. Plus, they use nugget ice, which is a personal favorite of mine. I even have the same ice maker at home! I was pleasantly surprised to find a little store area inside the shop. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any men’s shirts for sale. I would have loved to grab one for myself and the boys, but I don’t think a half shirt would be very flattering on me. If you’re looking to avoid the major coffee chains and support a local business, I highly recommend stopping by Local Grind. It’s the perfect spot for a delicious cup of coffee with a side of small-town charm.

Google
It's a nice coffee shop with big open windows for plenty of sunlight. The plain latte I got was poured well, and you could taste the quality in the beans they used. I balked a little as to how much their lox bagel was but understood why once I got it. It was absolutely loaded with salmom and cream cheese. The pic doesn't do it justice. I would probably split it next time with someone. It seems like this would be a nice, quiet place to enjoy a coffee and a book.

Google
very clean sharp spacious coffee shop. I went in around 8 am not busy at all- came in for coffee got; horchata latte, black coffee, almond croissant, and chocolates chip cookie. The latte taste like a cinnamon or dolce latte, would have loved if she made it a bit hotter; i usually get it extra hot and it was given to me barely warm not your average served hot, so it wasn’t as enjoyable as it could have been for me. Dislike when coffee shops serve it like that very much. I did appreciate her asking about my milk preference, i think thats super thoughtful.i always forget when i try a new place. chocolate chip cookie tasted salty so not your average chocolate chip if you have picky kids like mine; i thinks its good to know. almond croissant; i enjoyed black coffee was rich and smooth; enjoyed it very much. i look forward to trying this place again.

Making this my go to stop whilst staying close by for the next couple of days! Beautiful setup, and equally amazing staff! So super friendly and patient with all my questions and indecisiveness! Ended up going for their current special 'Mint Mocha Jolt', and was not disappointed in the slightest! So glad I went for the largest size! Looking forward to my next visit!

Google
We were very excited to try out the shop, as we usually come stay at the Fairfield once a month. Everything we ordered came out in a timely manner and drinks filled the cups, we didn't have an issue with them not being full. We also got several sandwiches which were all fantastic. I liked the broad choices available for breakfast sandwiches. Their jalapeño cheddar bagel was one of the best I'd ever had. Everything was also very reasonably priced for being a small business. I dont believe they had prices listed on the menu for the sandwiches, and the Matcha was fairly unnoticeable and lacked flavor. Other than that the staff were all very kind, helpful, and welcoming. We'll definitely be regulars while we're there. Thank you very much!

Google
incredible vibes! i will be coming back to try their coffee but i got the iced matcha latte with almond milk and it wasn’t bad, maybe a bit too much ice for my liking but im sure you can just tell them. i want to come back to try more of their food. free wifi and outlet to charge your devices.

Yelp
This is such a cute cafe! Glad to have something so close to home. I bought a couple of items from the day-old baskets. $1 per item! - aloha bagel 10/10: i think this is a sweet bagel with coconut shreds on the outside, so yummy! just a hint of sweetness -spinach asiago bagel 5/10: not the flavor for me, but the bagel texture was perfect - parmesan (?) bagel 10/10: a bagel dusted with a powdery cheese, super good! - cheese bagel 10/10: no notes! a classic! I also got an iced latte, and added lavender syrup to it. It was alright, maybe a 7/10, just an average coffee. Cashier who took my order was incredibly sweet and friendly. Looking forward to coming back for more baked goods!

Yelp
Forehead slap. Well I'm sure that Laura and Robert, the owners, will love to know that the snippy blonde with a bun on top of her head who works there, is proud of the fact that she "doesn't answer the phone when she's busy with customers that are actually in the store". We had a large order including food and four coffees which I wanted to call in so we could just grab on our way but hey, if you don't want our business that's fine with me. I ended up going in and grabbing one coffee which was met with a sneer and the above comment when I asked about the phone not being answered. I get that you can be busy but to be so proud of the fact that you in fact, don't answer the phone, along with the crappy attitude, well, that's just lame.

Yelp
Visited early Sunday morning. There is plenty of parking in the back lot and two entrances - one from the lot and a front entrance on Los Alamitos Blvd & Briggeman Dr. Plenty of seating with soft lighting and neutral tones. I ordered their 16oz hot Mocha and their Lox on a jalapeño bagel. The total was about $20. There was a short queue when I had arrived, and my order was ready in 10-15 minutes. I'm pretty bias about Lox Bagels (I can't remember the last time I've had a bad one). This one was a bit heavy on the capers and I wouldn't have been able to tell it was a jalapeño bagel if my eyes were closed, but overall I enjoyed it. I added lavender syrup to my Mocha and it was a sweet, decadent treat that contrasted the Lox quite nicely. I'd definitely come back!

Yelp
Great coffee and tasty chocolate chip cookies. I got a 24oz Iced Hazelnut Latte with Oat Milk which will give me lots of energy before taking my 3 year old to a picnic. Inside is roomy with plenty of seating. There is also a back door in the parking lot. Service and pricing are reasonable.

Yelp
Once upon a time, a self- proclaimed coffee addict's find. A quick stop for some pretty good coffee! The end.

Yelp
Local spot in Los Alamitos to try for the first time by the Fairmont and Ganahl Lumber area Street and private parking and appears to have a front and back access entrance Aesthetically spacious clean functional pleasing to the eye vaulted ceilings, plenty of tables and chairs and really liking the nook in the front entry way Large selections of bagels look like around 10 but not housemade and for $3 a pop but they do sell day old bagels for reasonable cost and other baked treats and sandwiches Hot Chai and hazelnut, solid 8/10 Hearty soothing comfort Not overly sweet or overpowering I'm not sure if it's oat milk that is used but makes a difference in taste in a good way Cinnamon sugar bagel not overly sweet easily shareable and still tasty with a good crunch both hot and room temperature, would certainly get again! Tasty on its own without any spread. Pricing standard nothing to outlandish? I take this over Starbucks for sure! And opening at 6am is a win! Friendly service / attentive / multi tasking with patrons Cost for both items $8.45 Seems like a good spot to study journal hangout with pals date night chill and get some work done Certainly will return to taste more!

Yelp
The cookie was so warm and delicious!!!! The bagel was amazing, I got it with cheddar and jalapeños. The iced white mocha was my favorite. I've never had raspberry foam before and I can't believe I've been missing out this whole time! Parking was easy to find, they have parking right behind the store. The ladies were wonderful and nice, they were cleaning and keeping the store sparkly clean!

Yelp
Service is great and the place is cute but the matcha sucks. tasted like water. and it's pricey.

Yelp
This place is so spacious and modern. I love the large windows that face the outside to people watch. They have a good variety of drinks such as coffee, mochas, blended drinks, match, and tea. I was impressed with all the seating and light from the large windows. They have a small shopping section off to one side from which you can purchase shirts, totes, cups, cards, etc. Oh, and I ordered the "funky monkey" latte; it has peanut-butter, chocolate, and banana flavor. Yum! I used to drive by this place all the time, and had not stopped by to check it out until recently. Now I have another coffee "hangout" that has variety and enough tables to sit at.

Yelp
Fast not not accurate Bland drinks Cups not full to the brim and service was rough Nice store tho but crew and food iffy

Yelp
Wanted to try a new coffee shop... I was NOT DISAPPOINTED ! There is parking and an entrance in the back of the shop. Upon entering it is so aesthetically pleasing. Definitely cool vibes. There are items for purchase merch... stickers... pencils all coffee related. It was clean and wasn't over stimulating. Initially I thought the baristas had an attitude but after further engagement I was slightly wrong. I ordered the wrong drink and they were happy to correct my mistake so I was very thankful. The drink was DELICIOUS! I got a white mocha 1/2 decaf with caramel drizzle. It was BOMB! $7.75 for 24oz . I'd definitely come back it was a vibe !
google avatar

Tina H.

Yelp
The place is nice and homey. They had cute merch but I didnt have enough time to look at each item. Staff was friendly even though they were busy with just 2 at the counter and prepping drinks and heating up food. Service was quick so if you're in a rush you don't have to worry about how long it takes to get your order. I only took 1 pic of our drinks but we got 3. These were good and a typical drink. But the muffin was really good.

Yelp
I'm going to admit I will try this location again. I was a bit disappointed, the staff seemed agitated, which could just be because they seemed to be focused on their boss when I walked in. They were nice enough, It was really straight forward. I just got a double espresso and I was shocked how expensive it was. I'm going to try a different drink next time that will last a bit longer for the price. The ambience is really nice, calm. There were people working in their own spaces and it was nice to see them supporting local. I've been on a local kick and I want to give it another shot. I'll just order better next time!

Yelp
Walking into this coffee shop is like stepping into an Instagram filter. The natural light floods the space, highlighting the minimalist interior that whispers, "You *might* be productive here." The ambiance is so calming. I had turkey sandwich (err stole from my partner. He had lunch already, so this was his second lunch. So I thought he could use some help with the sandwich), Cold brew, and banana bread The turkey sandwich? It's delicious but so small you'll feel like you're having high tea.. I'm here for coffee tho eh? But hey, quality over quantity, right? It was a luxury sandwich, not for the poor PhD student. The cold brew was...fine. Like the friend you invite to things but don't expect to carry the conversation. It's there, it's chill, but it's not going to add much. Now, the banana bread? Let me tell you, the barista and I shared a moment. Without saying a word, they gave me the larger slice. It was as if they *knew* I needed this victory today. The bread itself was solidly "ok," but that larger slice? 5 stars for thoughtfulness alone. All in all, if you're in the mood for great ambiance, decent cold brew, and a sandwich that'll leave you wanting more (literally), this place is worth a visit. Just don't expect to leave with a full stomach--or a full wallet.

Yelp
May 2024 Went in on Mother's Day morning which was great since all the other coffee/ bagel shops were packed.. so glad we found this place. It has a lot of space and very open with all the windows. Ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese - really good. Got a Funky Monkey, loved it! My husband got a hot Mocha & Apple turnover and enjoyed both very much. We will be going back.

Yelp
Iced Chai Latte w/ Almond Milk 10/10 - On the sweeter side - Doesn't have a strong spice taste - Creamy Turkey Sandwich 8/10 - Great flavor, taste very fresh - Pickles really helped enhance the flavor - Bread is soft and buttery Stopped by on my way to work for the first time and was not disappointed! In the morning it is not busy but they do have a constant flow of customers. A great spot to come together with friends or family to study or catch up. Will be coming back! Julia K., the barista is very friendly and easy to talk to, she brings a welcoming atmosphere. Julia was the one who made my drink just the right way:) The atmosphere is very vibrant with all the windows around the shop providing natural sunlight. It's a laid back coffee shop with a modern aesthetic ready to provide you with quality service.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm so glad I found this corner coffee shop. I can tell why the locals would love it, hence the name. It's so inviting inside. Tried the iced latte and also an iced matcha. Both were excellent and the service was fantastic. Lots of room in the shop, and they also sell some fun merchandise. If I'm ever in the area, I will definitely visit again.
google avatar

Cristina C.

Yelp
Mediocre cafe Workers seem nice. The counter where they give out drinks is constantly dirty, even where you grab the straws is a little messy. Waited about 15 minutes for my bagel--not sure if someone took it (I was actively listening for my order and they never called it out) or they just never made it. They weren't busy so not sure what happened there. Matcha was decent--I would try another drink but wouldn't reorder the matcha again.

Yelp
Upon walking into Local Grind I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere! Plenty of space to set up your laptop and get to work without feeling squished. High ceilings, lovely lighting, and even music volume makes for an ideal hang out location. Our coffees were delicious and the warmed up almond croissant was to die for! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Love this spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Don't bother going up the staircase, all the seating is on the main level! I am not a big fan of bagels, at least I wasn't before, but that's the main feature of the food offerings here and I'm looking forward to coming back for more! I also approve that the matcha latte is unsweetened so I can decide my own level of added sweetener. A new quick, light lunch place when on the go!

Kim N.

Yelp
It's a nice place to study. I got the 24oz iced white mocha and it was a bit too sweet for me so I'd ask for less sweet and even an extra shot of espresso. Super cool barista too.

Yelp
(Update: I went home and scaled it and it barely met 6 oz). Location: corner shop, near the post office. It's at the same plaza as a dance studio and nail salon. Parking in rear. Menu: coffee, tea, food, hot/cold. Saw some bakery goods and bagels. Experience: it looks nice inside, lots of seating for a coffee shop. There's some goods for sale on the side, like mugs and stickers for sale. Unfortunately, overall, I had a bad experience ): I ordered the macchiato (only comes in 12 oz), and when she asked if I wanted oat milk, I said "whole milk" but they gave me the oat milk anyway. The screen did not read "oat milk" so I assumed it was tax that I was seeing. My fault was that I didn't look at my printed receipt which did say oat milk. It was also kinda hard to hear when the order came out too. When I got my cup... it was half empty. I have a very hard time accepting this was 12 oz. More like 8 oz? For $5? Idk. Maybe this was a fluke.. but for now, disappointed. I'm actually really unsure if I'll return. It tasted nice but I think it was a bit too light on the coffee flavor. My brother in law got the funky monkey. It was heavy on the peanut butter. It was nice too, but when we got home, he added more coffee because it was ultimately too sweet.

Yelp
First time coming by Local Grind, I've been meaning to try their LB location as well! Super spacious and calming vibe to do some work in. Barista's are down to earth and very personable! Jay was really knowledgeable and welcomed us with great energy. The drinks were flavorful, and will definitely be coming back.

macey r.

Yelp
The Matcha here is not the best in my opinion and I drink Matcha on the daily. Also, they put way too much ice. More than half of my cup was ice. After 5 min it tasted like watered down milk.
google avatar

Angelina C.

Yelp
My first time stopping in for a quick bite and cup of coffee but definitely not my last! I'm particular about my coffee and they did not disappoint. I also ordered a bagel egg sandwich, suggested by the girl at the counter who was so nice and friendly, and it was delicious. It had cream cheese and egg on your choice of bagel, mine was a jalapeño bagel, but they had so many options. I've never put cream cheese on my egg bagel sandwich but now I'm doing it all the time. It hit the spot. And the decor of the cafe is so cute! They have nice little gift items for that person who you don't want to spend a lot on but want them to feel special and who doesn't love coffee. Will definitely return.
google avatar

Cheyenne P.

Yelp
This spot is in a convenient location with a good variety of menu items and tons of indoor seating. Love the little shopping area with cute cards, stickers & other knick knacks, but each time I've been here there have been multiple employees working but no one has ever been at the register greeting you ready to take your order. There's always a bit of an ordering lag and the drinks seem to take 7-10 minutes to make even if there's no one else in there. Paid $7 for an iced vanilla matcha that was very underwhelming and didn't have much of a vanilla taste at all.
google avatar

Paolo U.

Yelp
Worker could have been more polite and helpful in my opinion. Gave me stank face the entire time I ordered. The coffee was not bad though. But coffee shops are about good vibes, and this was not it. Although i wanted to like it, not sure if ill come back. The pastry was good.
google avatar

Nicole Z.

Yelp
Iv gone here maybe 5 times , specialty coffees are never consistent & I always order the same drink. I also think asking for names would help a lot since no one seems to remember what drink or milk they order
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
This was a nice quiet coffee shop I went to today and the iced mocha was amazing and the customer service was great!
google avatar

Kaylie M.

Yelp
Love, love, love local grind! I am definitely someone who comes here weekly for a weekend latte and bagel sandwich! Everyone there is always so nice & friendly and the cafe is very spacious and has lots of natural lighting which makes it such a fun place to be in the morning :) They even sell some cute handmade products!
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
Disinterested staff a locked front door. A strange sign that's not obvious to get in the back door and when you walk in the place stinks like sour milk. I didn't even try the coffee I left. I gave them two chances over 2 days Saturday and Sunday and it was the same. It's hard to get good staff I suppose and have people even show up for work. But I noticed this morning at 7:25 a.m. Sunday there was only one person working there and they were not at the counter to greet customers. They were in the back.
google avatar

Susana E.

Yelp
The interior is nice and refreshing. It's very spacious so you're not too close to the next person. However, the food was okay. The latte I ordered only took 2 minutes and it tasted below average. It makes me wonder if it was premade(store bought) . I also ordered the salmon bagel and I could tell it was not fresh, it was too salty. This is a good place to wind down but the food & drinks are mid.
google avatar

Daisey E.

Yelp
The service was really refreshing , the baristas were eager to talk and help me browse the menu ... even saw the cutest fur babies while inside... I'm not a local but I wish I was and the coffee was a hit, definitely not your average cold brew
google avatar

Geraldine R.

Yelp
Nice and spacious interior with parking in private lot in the back. This place is perfect for socializing or for studying... if you don't need an outlet. Service was friendly. Ended up getting a Maple Scone, 562 (recommend), and Mexican Horchata. Only issue is the hours -- open at 7am and close at 4pm.
google avatar

Sharif E.

Yelp
Had a good first couple experiences here but the last two are pretty unforgivable really and just shows how careless the staff here is. - First mistake was ordering 6 bagels , none of them with cream cheese, and ended up with half of them including cream cheese on top of the other topics we ordered which made the bagel disgusting to eat. - second mistake was ordering the same ingredients as mistake #1 but this time seeing that BACON was included. I can't eat pork, and I had to toss the sandwich in the garbage. Just carelessness all around that can be avoided. I'll go back to Bonjour bagel which is up the street, is a real mom and pop shop, and the staff has never made a mistake on my order. Be better, do better.
google avatar

Diane K.

Yelp
First time we went (couple months ago), it was fine . This last time, it was crowded and there was not a good system to pick up food orders. We waited a good 20 minutes for one bagel with lox... only to find out that someone else took our order. Had to pick a different bagel. Our friend was told indignantly that it was after 10:00 , as if that was an appropriate thing to say when they were out of the flavor of bagel she wanted. Our other friends had to wait almost an hour for their bagel/breakfast sandwich order. They kept going to the counter to check... and STILL had to wait after the order taker was aware that there was clearly an issue. I was really embarrassed that we suggested going there .

Dee X.

Yelp
I love this place! Coffee and bagels, what more can a girl ask for?? Coffee with bagels have been my jam lately in the mornings. The menu has a variety of options to choose from and you can create your own which is great so we can customize what we want and don't want. It is pretty expensive but the portion is huge so I feel it's well worth it once in awhile and I'm on the go. The one I usually get is the smoked salmon with avocado, cream cheese, etc., and they hook it up with the smoked salmon slices, it's not just 1-2 slices like some places put. The setting is cute and modern as well. It's a yes for me!
google avatar

Franck K.

Yelp
I love the aesthetic of this place! It's a huge cafe, with high ceilings. The colors throughout are light wood and white, very minimalistic and a beautiful location. The Iced latte's are to die for, I usually get it added with lavender. I also get a cheddar, bacon, and egg bagel on everything and it's absolute perfection. The prices are great for the product. Friendly staff overall. This is definitely one of my new favorites.
google avatar

Hannah W.

Yelp
The lack of customer service and professionalism is wiiiiiild. No one ever greets you when you come in. Which is, whatever....I wouldn't have wrote a review over that. But what blew me away today is the girl that came to help me from the back, came out with a mouth full of water, swishing it around in her mouth. Not sure what she was doing, but the entire time she was taking my order she was swishing the liquid around in her mouth. So much so, that she couldn't even ask me any questions or what size I wanted my drink. She literally had to mime and point to the cups behind her and use hand gestures showing "big or small" to ask me what size because she was still swishing the liquid in her mouth...we never had a word during my entire time ordering because she had water or whatever drink in her mouth. It was sooooo freaking bizarre. Lol I've never been to a business anywhere and had that kind of encounter. Rude service is one thing (which they are...literally everyone there has a serious attitude and looks like they couldn't tell you what a smile was if it hit them in the face)...but this was next level unprofessional, and honestly gross. And to top it off, the drink was gross and was gritty...like the powder didn't dissolve and I was drinking chunks of powder. Never ever coming back
google avatar

Ashlee T.

Yelp
This is across the street from the hotel I stay at for my business trips here and it's amazing! Service is always friendly and so fast. Then place is decently busy at 8am and I'm in and out with my coffee and sandwich within 10 minutes! The espresso is delicious and so is the food. I tried a ham egg and cheese and the bacon egg and cheese on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and they are so good!! The atmosphere is cute inside with plenty of seats and a big parking lot in the back! Definitely give it a try if you are in the area!

Yelp
I was a long time customer of the one in Long Beach so when I found them in Los Al I was excited because I love the coffee. Unfortunately, the Los Al location is run very poorly and is nothing like the Long Beach location. Today (5/3/25) at 12pm took 27 minutes for 2 bagels and 2 drinks. After seeing people who just arrived get their orders before me I finally questioned where my drinks were. They forgot to make them and didn't even apologize! They made the drinks 2 minutes later and they were made incorrectly! Now it's been 30 minutes... my bagels are cold and I finally have my correct drinks and no apologies, no eye contact... I'm so disappointed in this place. 4 workers and it wasn't even busy and they can't get my order correct. One worker offered me a 20% off coupon for my next visit. Not sure it's worth my time to go back. I love their coffee but until they get better customer service I'm not going back.
google avatar

Lorena A.

Yelp
Cute new coffee shop in town. Please don't let the bad reviews fool you over the "amount of coffee" being served or the coffee "not being strong enough". Their portions are appropriate and their coffee is most definitely strong enough (yes, this comes a coffee snub herself). If not, just ask for the extra shot. First of all, this coffee shop is convenient and has plenty of parking. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted and made feel welcomed. We had The 562 which was really good. Food wise, we had the Lox bagel and a build your own sandwich. Both were really good and the sizes of these bagels makes up for their costs. Must try coffee shop + bagels. See for yourself.

Yelp
Spacious local coffee shop near work. Tried a cappuccino on my first visit and it was mediocre...think Starbucks caliber. Might be worthwhile for drip coffee or some food?

Devynn B.

Yelp
i've been to local grind many times (long beach location) tried this location and didn't love it... drinks were still good but the customer service wasn't great. the place was empty and i waited like 20 minutes for my order. also many dirty tables. it does have a lot of seating and so many windows so it is a gorgeous space i'll drive the extra few minutes to go to the other location
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great coffee house. They offer great coffee, quality food items, and the best employees and customer service! I highly recommend giving this place a try!
google avatar

Michelle I.

Yelp
The place is nice and pretty big. Service was great, she was very helpful. The only reason I gave four stars is because of the amount of latte that was made. It wasn't the full 12oz that I bought. I usually don't finish my lattes so quickly like this one. You can tell from picking up the cup that it wasn't full. Other than that, the drink was tasted good and the ham and cheese croissant was tasty. I'll come back and try another drink sometime.

Yelp
Tried the new location- super easy, big space- open & welcoming. The girl behind the counter was friendly and welcoming too. Coffee was great, and paired with the bagel & cream cheese perfect! Really liked this location!
