Restaurant Owners Are Increasingly Providing Knives to Kitchen Staff | Eater

"The organization supplies knives to its workers and its operations head argues that the burden of purchasing and transporting knives should not fall on team members. Providing tools avoids safety and legal risks tied to carrying blades offsite — one leader recounts nearly being charged after a police stop — and makes ownership optional rather than mandatory. While many cooks prefer their own knives, the emphasis here is that proper maintenance matters more than price: a well-kept inexpensive knife can perform the job, and restaurants should ensure staff have functional tools while leaving custom purchases to individual choice." - Jaya Saxena

Google
We couldn’t decide what we wanted to eat and we found that local kitchens had many options. Hubby had three taco Tuesday special with chips and guacamole and I had a delicious burger and thought I ordered slaw but was pleasantly surprised that I was wrong and ordered french fries. We have to try the slaw next time. Great food. Will try sushi next.

Google
Amazing sauces. The shrimp tempura hand oll was amazing. The Burger was season so well. Everything was very delicious look forward to trying the pizza next. Update. Tried square pie guys and absolutely loved it. And the sushirrita burrito was again so delicious

Google
Food came out super quick. Was able to get a little bit of everything from burgers to sushi burrito and regular burritos. Very well made and everything tasted really good. Incredibly nice worker, Stash, greeting everyone with a very positive attitude.

The service and delivery was great and quick. We ordered the 6X8 pepperoni and chicken strips.

Google
THE BEST SUSHI I’VE EVER HAD!!! Mind you I tried many sushi places except Japan’s. This teeny place produces fire food!! I got the sumo crunch sushiritto and the extra chicken sandwich combo with more herbyslaw and Spindrift mango and orange sparkling water. Just the best! It made my day. The feeling of sleeping with a smile on your face. It was very tasty, loads of kani and the sauce inside is very delicious but not overpowering that you can still taste the tempura. Half of the sushiritto makes me full. The herbyslaw from Proposition chicken is different from your typical cole slaw. This has a little curry taste and onions which I like. They have a restroom. It was clean and smelled good. I also really like that they have a screen to see how many minutes you’ll wait and if your order is ready. They also have pizza, falafels, burritos, bowls, tacos, angus beef burgers, gigantic sandwiches, etc. Will definitely go back whenever I’m in the area.

My friend told me about this place and I decided to give it a try. Glad I did. Tons of good options and friendly staff. The food is good and good portions at a fair price. Not sure if it was the owner or just a passionate worker at the front but my first time in and a guy gave me excellent service and checked up on me twice. 10/10 would go back.

Google
Good establishment. Love how there is a variety of things that can be ordered here, different restaurants all in one place. The guy with the fedora was super energetic and makes your trip there well worth it. This doesnt change the review or the quality of the place at all, but if you are looking for a place that has food on the cheaper end, this is not the place. Well worth the price though.

Google
We've enjoyed using Local Kitchens since it opened. The staff was and still is awesome. We order through the app & pick it up. Orders always processed quickly. Lately however the food quality has been off. We also had an issue with the app which has caused the order to be wrong. Hope this gets corrected

Yelp
Five stars. Best service, well organized, clean and their food, is off the charts amazing! A new favorite! Keep it up.

Yelp
The Latin Ninja was OK. The quality of the salmon used was ok but the amount and flavors were yummy. It was about $20. My friend enjoyed her Taco bowl but thought the one at La Chamba in Moraga is better. The best thing about Local Kitchens is the variety and I'd want to try more. The best part of our experience was the worker we met-- Dave Stash! He was so awesome and enthusiastic, he really made our day.

Yelp
Bookmarked Local Kitchens for a few years and decided to meet a friend there this evening. I got the Geisha's Kiss from Sushirrito and my friend got a salad from Proposition Chicken. I like that Sushirrito allows you to remove ingredients, which in my case were the cucumbers. However, they put in WAY too much lettuce! I like lettuce just fine but if I'm paying $18, I want - and should get - more ahi. While I love the concept, Sushirrito is just not the same caliber as Oke Poke's pokerritos. My friend seemed to like her salad and the portion was generous. Ordering on the screen was easy. My order didn't take too long. The parking lot is small but I was able to find a spot. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available; we sat inside. I wish Local Kitchens still had items from Señor Sisig, The Melt, Curry Up Now, and Humphry Slocombe. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back but if I were in the area and someone wanted to go, I wouldn't be opposed. I'd try one of the falafel or Mexican dishes next time.

Yelp
What a cool concept! We wanted a late night meal so my nephew suggested this spot after one of his friends told him about it. They're open pretty late. I think Thursdays they're open till midnight cuz it was about 11pm when we wandered in here. The space inside is a little on the smaller side, but that's okay. We took our food to go. You can order off a tablet and it's super easy. They have such cool selections. It's a few different local places I'm assuming and you can order some menu items from there. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich and fries. Mys husband and nephew got the sweet onion burgers. But they also have pizza and sushi burritos and tacos... there's literally something for everyone if you're not sure what to eat. I looooved my crispy chicken sandwich. It had a little kick to it which was perfect. So did the fries. Sooo tasty! If I lived in the area, I'd definitely frequent this place for sure.

Yelp
Great concept of combining 3-5 top chefs in one location. App is great, you can customize everything and pick the time to pick up. Food is across the board great.
google avatar

Jen L.

Yelp
Ordered pick up from here since there was a great BOGO deal for the burger. We did two SOB burgers with sweet onions - the burgers were good, as you expect for a typical burger. I thought there be a bit more to it but nothing exciting. We also got the fries and parm fries. They were okay as well - not the best fries as they were a bit on the drier side. That being said, it's still a cool concept overall - might still be worth checking out the other menu items

Yelp
I certainly do not come here often enough because they are adding new restaurant offerings all the time. For lunch today, Deb 7, 2025, I had the chicken ta plate from TamTam. The chicken! So many goodies on top including crunchy onions, red chilies and the variety of flavors and textures in the bowl was unbelievable! The rice is nice and sticky, the pickled daikon and carrots add a nice tartness and crispness to the bowl. The added sweet fish sauce just puts the flavors over the top. I poured some over the bowl and then dipped everything just for extra tang. My mistake for not checking the bag as my utensils were missing so pro tip is to look in the bag before running out. The crew delivered it right to me and were very friendly. I wish they had a soda fountain because I just didn't want to get on the app again to get a can beverage. They do offer water from a jug. There is more indoor seating now and new covered seating outside. I was able to park in the small lot as well. Can't wait to come back to try something new.

Yelp
I ordered the Broke Chick Tam from Tam Tam Rice, and it's been one of the tastiest menu items I've tried so far at Local Kitchens. There were so many flavors and textures to keep it interesting, yet everything paired so well together - no boring chicken and rice here! The chicken was very flavorful on its own, but the sweet fish sauce brought it to the next level. The pork and egg quiche was a unique touch, and I loved the pickled vegetables (I wish there were more!). The Persian cucumber and tomatoes almost had a Mediterranean flavor profile and seemed a little out-of-place, but they were refreshing. The overall rice to protein ratio was a bit high, but I liked how the rice soaked up the sauce and absorbed all the flavors. I'd definitely order the chicken rice plate again.

Yelp
I have ordered the Zesty Nopalito salad 4X now. What a super tasty, super fresh, super yummy salad! I highly recommend it!!

Yelp
I stopped by LK @ Lafayette, and discovered they remodeled the place. They added more seating inside in the form of bar space. They also improved the tables outside on the patio. The inside has the upgraded water and condiment station. I ordered: - The Meltburger - Fries - Tempura Shrimp Local Kitchens in Lafayette still has the best food! LK @ Lafayette was the first Local Kitchens location. It was also the place where we had a Yelp Elite Event, where I was introduced to the LK brand. Since then, I have been to every location in the SF Bay Area, plus Davis and Roseville. I always order on the LK App, and I always pickup my own food.

Yelp
This is the second Local Kitchen location that I've dined at. The purpose of the visit to this location was to support the launch of the S.O.B (Sweet Onion Burger) by a favorite chef of mine, Alvin Cailan (owner of Eggslut and Amboy in SoCal). The location was very busy but full of life with a DJ and various activities happening around the parking lot. I was given a ticket to claim one burger. The staff at the restaurant was very friendly. I received my burger right off the grill and was impressed! The simplicity of the burger made with ground beef and sweet onions pressed together, combined with a slice of cheddar cheese, sauce and soft buns tasted very delicious! I did get to meet my favorite chef and complemented his creation. I'll definitely be back for the burger and support other Local Kitchen locations. I need to try the other food vendors working with the kitchen too.

Yelp
This is an odd place to me. Friendly & clean. Kind of a walk in fast food restaurant. No fuss. In my opinion, a great "to go" place for busy folks. They do have tables inside. However, while we were there, at lunch time. All their storage doors were open and all there supplies on their largest table. Seemed odd to have this going on at their busiest time of day. It's probably grand to some, just not my kind of place

Yelp
Tam Tam Broken Rice has been a go to - seriously favorite! The plate itself is filled with the delicious broken rice, the tender chicken, the chard, pickled radish and carrots and the tofu squares! It's a delicious combination of a dish for one person split it to two meals and it's perfect. Could be eaten dine in or take out! They have out door seating and parking! The price point for a meal without add ins is affordable.

Yelp
Very grateful to have Local Kitchens right here in Lafayette! It's amazing to have some SF favorites just a few minutes away, even if the menu is limited. Square Pie Guys is a fan favorite in our house. Those crispy focaccia pizzas never disappoint. I also love Sushirrito, the fried chicken salad from Proposition Chicken and the Italian chopped salad from Flavor Trippin' (so spicy!).
google avatar

Jack L.

Yelp
I am here a lot! This place is so wonderful as it allows your whole family to pick different things while all being delicious! Mexican, Mediterranean, sushi, burgers, pizza, etc. They have it all! The service is generally quick and you can help yourself to water and utensils. Pretty easy to use their online app to order ahead of time too.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent, fresh food with comfortable outdoor seating, and a charmingly attentive waitstaff.

Yelp
As promised, we returned to try the next culinary adventure. This time we went with the classics: pizza and fries. But not just any piece of pie- the "mush-o-roni" delivered a symphony of savory deliciousness. (Did not need to drive into Oakland to get it) Next was the woozy fries- they will make your tastebuds swoon. Another happy dance for the party in my tummy Did I mention the friendly fast service? - well now I did
google avatar

Yelp
The salad and the dressing are amazing, as well as the chicken strips with the habanero aioli

Yelp
Amazing. Super easy ordering system. Fast service and the foot was outstanding I got the impossible melt burger (double patty) and it was great. It wasn't messy and didn't fall apart. Everything about it satisfied me The garlic fries were good as was the tomato soup. Last we got the fried chicken sandwich. Very good as well. So many dodging options so I have many reasons to come back. Service was good and the guy up front was as friendly and chipper as can be.
google avatar

Yelp
This was our second time ordering from this place, and the food was pretty disappointing this time. We ordered the "grilled" chicken bowl, hummus, and chicken tenders with fries for our kids. The grilled chicken bowl flavors didn't pair well--spicy, cumin-seasoned chicken, beans, Spanish-style rice, cauliflower, cilantro, and sour cream. None of us could eat it. The hummus was old and tasted exactly like the "grilled" chicken. Our kid's tenders were dry, and the fries were soggy. We won't order from Here again.
google avatar

Rachael H.

Yelp
Eating here was a highlight of our camping trip to Mt Diablo State Park! The falafel restaurant food was exceptional! I got the chicken shwarma and will get it again when we come back.
google avatar

Tala H.

Yelp
I love their chicken sandwiches! They always hit the spot! I tried their cheeseburgers this time and was disappointed. Very greasy and soggy. Service is always great. The place is pretty small and it's mostly a self service. Might just stick with the chicken sandwiches.
google avatar

Prerna V.

Yelp
Wow! I ordered DoorDash late night after work! The food did not disappoint even late at night! Everything was cooked to perfection and super flavorful! Hands Down best guacamole I have ever tasted on Planet Earth. I must commend them even a late night order that they could have packed callouly; I would not have objected! but it was put together with such care and thought. I deeply appreciate it. Thank you

Yelp
expensive, the fried chicken sandwich was good and the Thai pork belly was interesting, but I wouldn't say delicious. 60 bucks for what seemed to be fast food style ambience and ordering seemed a bit pricey. I like that they support local chefs though.
google avatar

Yelp
The perfect spot to choose when you have to feed more than one person and neither can decide what they want. We were greeted warmly with attentive and helpful staff. Mom totally devoured her Quesabirria tacos and I really enjoyed my Ninja Burrito. We sat outside to eat and saw many people pick up their orders quickly so this place is running efficiently, not to mention that we noticed many were happy return customers. Definitely want to come back and try some other items.
google avatar

Yelp
This place was knocking out five star dishes when they opened up a few years ago. Among others, they combined Curry Up and Senor Sisig under one roof. I thought it was the best concept ever. My wife and I could order several different fusion items and share them together. The best part was that they actually made their limited menu items better than the OG! We're hardly ever roaming the mean streets of Lafayette so we had only been here a few times. A coupon offer encouraged me to check to see what's currently on tap. Sadly, no more enticing plant options aside from Falafel. I love falafel but can get that pretty much anywhere. I guess the big names dropped out and these no name restaurants replaced them. Bummer!

Yelp
5 -Stars for Lafayette's Local Kitchens. 3455 Mount Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, CA 94549. Enjoyed my Sushiritto, The Melt, Falafel, Garlic Fries, and Chicken wings these past 7 visits. The chefs who wonderfully prepared the meal, the tablet that submitted my order, the front office staff : Jo, Farrah(sp?) are all Top-rate! Customer pickup area is clean and clutter-free ! The food pick up process (by the Dashers, etc.) is very much in harmony with the walk-in customers who are ordering/waiting. One, two, three, four, FIVE stars ! I approve this rating, Jay M. Yelp
This review is on the Tam Sang Wings! I don't know if my tip was unacceptable (at least I left one.) but if you check my pictures this was not ok! They gave me some SUPER BURNT wings, with no flavor! Totally unacceptable. It sucks because the type of restaurant it is, were you order on the phone, pick up and leave. You don't find out this is what you got until you're back in the office or home with the food. Do I really want to go back and have the rest of my food get cold!? Come on now Local Kitchen don't start slipping, cutting corners, or getting lazy!!

Yelp
First off, I actually quite enjoy this idea of multiple businesses inherently sharing one location. Not only does it make traveling to get certain foods easier, you can also enjoy a variety. Not much service to be had as it's a fast food style joint. Basically you go in and order on a tablet, then your name shows up on their giant tv to the left of the entrance. Wait for your meal, and then you're good to go. That said, while there's a lot of space in the building, not a lot of waiting space unless you feel like standing. There are benches outside though that are good for a good weather day. Now, onto food. I'm glad Melt is here as well as Humphry Slocombe. That said, for this round, I got some lumpia from the lumpia company there. Then I got a chicken and bacon Mac and cheese from the melt. Fair warning, the mac and cheese normally has garlic and a whole lot of it to the point I feel it's border inedible. So I removed it and it's soooooo much better. The lumpia itself was good and yet a disappointment. They're not fresh made lumpias. Rather they're frozen ones. We got an order of 8 and two of them had fillings explode out of it. When I pulled the filling out, it was very "tube-like" which told me this was frozen. Also, there's quite a bit of empty room in the lumpia so more filling would be nice. My boyfriend got a chicken tikka masala from Curry Up Now in which it's pretty good. That said, fair warning that the spice builds. It starts off mild and then works up to medium spice. Overall, probably would come again for the Melt or other brands. But probably will pass on the lumpia for a good while. The frozen mini egg rolls from i-Tea in Moraga are better

Yelp
Tam Tam Rice was excellent! Great blending of flavors. The variety of different foods was artful.
google avatar

Yelp
This is for Tam Tam Rice. It was OK. If I'm going to be paying $15 for a bowl of rice with spicy pork belly it should actually have LOTS of meat in it. Not 5 small pieces (I counted). Definitely won't eat there again.
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
We were looking for Curry Up Now, didn't realize it was actually part of the Local Kitchens mini food hall, which we'd never seen before but were thrilled to find. We ended up ordering from The Melt and Sushirrito as well, and loved everything. Ordering and pickup were easy, the staff was friendly, and the whole place looked spotless. Our family of four got tikka masala paneer on rice, garlic parmesan fries, tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons, and chicken karaage with Peruvian herb sauce. There were so many great options, we'll definitely be back again soon. It's the perfect place for a group. It's sort of magical that the same little place can provide so many different types of food, all fresh and tasty. There are a few picnic tables out front in case you want to eat there. For takeout, I recommend using the Local Kitchens app to order in advance.
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
Ordered from here twice a few weeks back while I was visiting Lafayette. Each time the food was fresh and delicious, my orders were ready on time and the staff was super friendly. Square Pie Guys | Mean Green Machine - white sauce, italian sausage, roasted broccoli, chile flake, mike's hot honey. I love Detroit style pizza and SPG nails it. This was phenomenal, every bite was the perfect mix of crunchiness, chewiness and cheesy goodness! Sushirrito | Latin Ninja - salmon poke, plantain chips, lettuce, bubu, wasabi aioli and citrus ponzu with avocado spread, sushi rice, and Sushirrito nori. Superb, as always. My other favorite sushi burritos are the Geisha's Kiss, Sumo Crunch and Satori. I sure hope Sacramento gets its own Local Kitchens soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Foods good, service is excellent, the man at the front is always so kind to anyone walking in.

Yelp
I love local kitchens!!! The service is absolutely amazing. The kindest, nicest, sweetest people. The gentleman working the counter was so pleasant. Thank you so so much for everything. Customer service this good is so rare. This is a hidden gem that I wanna gatekeep but I can't. The food is phenomenal as well. I love this place
google avatar

Yelp
Fav local food stop, for a variety of reasons. For one, it's the only place open past 9pm in Lafayette/Walnut Creek with good nutritious food. Value to quality is the highest out there, and the variety is top. Nopalito's, Proposition Chicken, and The Melt are our fav of the mini-eateries, with Yalla Falafel being a strong new addition. Service is super fast, reliable, and professional. Plus the staff are responsive and excellent! And the management clearly values the input of their customers. I've had them reach out directly and thank me when leaving a minor critique of one of the menu items - can't say that about any other establishment. Keep up the good work team!! Oh, and the outdoor table is a great spot to sit down and eat if you're not getting takeout here.
google avatar

Esther W.

Yelp
The only reason I am not giving this one star is because I've been a regular here several times before when the food has been done decently and because the service of the place is nice. I was just so disappointed tonight when I ordered the Oren's Hummus Beef Rice Bowl for $18 and the 3 beef "kebabs" were dry, rubbery, flavorless, and frankly quite nasty pieces of meat. I was appalled that this bowl cost $18 and that the chefs were okay with this quality of food being sold for a ridiculously high price. My partner ordered this same dish several months ago and he said it didn't taste as terrible as what I got today tasted. I would go on and say positive things about the other dishes but frankly I wonder if the high costs are worth coming back to Local Kitchens anymore. I was a regular when the place recently opened up, downloaded the app, used rewards and everything. But my gosh this bowl was such a disappointment. See photo below for a picture of the dry rubbery meatballs. Update: I texted customer service from the Local Kitchens App and requested a refund. They got back a minute later to apologize and honor the request.
google avatar

Stephani M.

Yelp
I love the greeting I received from Stache!!! This guy is made of sugar--true hospitality. Of course I return here because my family loves the food. It's walking distance from the house, quality and cleanliness is top tier, but come on--STACHE--yes, yes, yes!!!

Yelp
Happy I found this place. I had driven by before but wasn't sure what it was. It's like a ghost kitchen for different restaurants but you can actually order and pick up from the location. There are 4-5 different restaurants to try from which is the appeal for places like this. One stop shop for your hangry self. The first time we went there we got Square Pie Guys (the big von) and it was good. Also got a side of hummus from Oren's hummus, which we liked. We've been to their palo alto location a few times. Nice we didn't have to drive to Oakland or Palo Alto to get these items. The presentation and taste of Square Pie Guys was what you would expect if you went to their store in Oakland. Good to see that. Consistency is the key to a good establishment. The second time we went I got a bacon cheeseburger from The Melt and some fries, and the wife got Square Pie Guys again. I thought the burger was tasty and had plenty of bacon and the fries were well seasoned. The wife enjoyed her pizza, although I'm not a fan of the mushroom pizza. I thought it was not as flavorful as the big von but that's just me. I'm a meat lover pizza kind of guy. They don't have indoor seating but have several outdoor picnic tables. Also no restroom. You can order online and when you walk in there is a large TV screen that shows when your order will be ready. As you can imagine, lots of pick up from Doordash/Uber eats We love being able to try different things from different restaurants. A good alternative if we're ever craving something from one of these restaurants.
google avatar

Yelp
I had never heard of this place prior to driving past and looking for a place to have lunch. After finding their menu online and deciding to order prior to driving back for pickup, I am now a fan. Great to be able to order from so many different restaurants at a local source without having to drive to each restaurant location. It isn't the full menu, but the more popular offerings. My order was ready in a reasonable time and was the right temperature upon pickup. The people working there were nice and friendly. Appreciated their great attitude. Upon walking through the door I noticed the order board, some people were waiting for their orders. The order board was definitely busy. If you don't want to order on your phone online, you can use the kiosk inside. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in town now that I know it is there, and apparently it's also in other Bay Area towns.
google avatar

Nicholas L.

Yelp
Tried the chicken sandwich one night then burgers another and both were good. Ordered online and ready for pick up as promised
google avatar

George S.

Yelp
Pretty tiny, almost drove past it. I was looking for Sushirrito which is within this place. In fact this place is able to make several foods from other popular places. The parking lot it limited and one way. There is outdoor dining, but no indoor dining. You can either use an app to place orders ahead of time or use their touch screen to select your food and tap for credit or wireless pay. Overall, it's pretty easy and pretty good. I'll have to go back and try something else. It's located across the street from McDonalds.
google avatar

Yelp
Dope concept of a micro food hall. It's a pick up type a food service but they offer a lot of good stuff! Especially the lumpia company and senor sisig! Tocino California burrito was good! It could be a bit bigge and had more ingredients b/c the top of both our burritos was a bite full of tortilla! Flavor still hit tho. same as the pork version of it. But fries in the burrito was crunchy! And the UBE horchata was bomb.com. Couple tables outside and the parking is limited. So order ahead of time. Came at 5:30pm and it was kinda slow. no one was using the tables so it was a nice to sit down and eat the food fresh instead of having to bring it home or eat in the car. Ordered on the way there and I was 9 min away and it was ready by the time I got there. Food was shmackin!
google avatar

Rita W.

Yelp
Local Kitchens is so convenient, and I love the ability to mix and match foods from various places within this ghost kitchen in one order. Their website is super easy to use and order from, and the pick up times have been rather consistent as well. I get very excited when new places pop up too. The fam and I have been ordering the following the most often - Burritos from Senor Sisig - So good and wrapped/labeled properly. Downside is that the spiciest levels aren't usually spicy. Once a while there would be more jalapeno bits in there, but most of the time the spicy or extra spicy aren't spicy. I forget if the actual Senor Sisig comes with hot sauce or salsa, but it'll be nice if this came with a side of salsa. Various Chicken Dishes from Proposition Chicken - the kids really enjoy the chicken tenders! Their fried chicken entree is pretty good too. Ice Cream - Tried it once, and the pint of ice cream I got was really good. Pricey for a pint, but the brand is pricey itself. Burger from The Melt - comes with a side of pickle. Pretty solid burger, one of the "cheaper" items there. Curry Up Now - Tasty stuff too! There's been some new things recently, and a pop up, and I can't wait to go back and try some of that. So glad they're in Lafayette!

Yelp
Okay, well I am writing this review while heated. Placed an order today for pi day, which was BOGO on square pie guys. I placed an order at 4:45pm with a 5:15pm pick up time. I come in at 5:35pm and it's still not ready. No biggie, there's a ton of people so I get it. 10min pass and I don't get any updates on my order. One of the workers realizes how backed up they are and proceeds to take all the names down of everyone inside to prioritize the pizza orders of those patiently waiting. Finally at 6pm I ask the status of my order. The worker couldn't find my ticket, she asked what my order was and I tell her. I assume she's expediting my order considering they're 45min past their confirmed pick up time. I hear her ask the cooks for a mushroom pizza, I assume it's to fulfill my order. Finally the mushroom pizza is done and nope, not my order. She proceeds to hand the pizza over to the guy next me (who literally walked in 10 min prior to reviewing his order.) She, of course, sees the look on my face and says "last time I checked your order is still being worked on." Which I find hard to believe considering you could t find my ticket, proceeded to ask what I ordered and notonce did I see you relay this to the kitchen to work on my "lost" order. I walked out. This is ridiculous. And as I write this review I finally get a text at 6:35pm that says my order is ready. ALMOST AN HOUR AND A HALF past the pickup time. It's not the fact that it took this long, it's the lack of communication. It's the frustration of seeing the workers pack up other pizzas and orders for other who aren't even in the lobby patiently waiting. What was the point of taking the names down in the lobby?! You have bags of orders ready sitting on your shelf For people who clearly aren't physically inside waiting. It's the frustration of seeing pizzas piled up in the back, clearly being held hostage for other orders instead of allocating the orders for the patrons waiting over an hour inside the establishment. It's common sense to be like "oh your pick up is at 5:15? It's 6pm now let me expedite it" Take the pizzas off the table that are just sitting there and pack my order up. You only serve like 5 different kinds of pizzas, I'm sure you can find a couple Of pizzas to fulfill my order. It's seriously just sitting in black tubs in the back while 20 people wait in the lobby. Then you can work on the orders of those who aren't even here yet! Like C'monnnn or staff your place appropriately when there's a BOGO deal. The takeaway is: DO NOT ORDER FROM LOCAL KITCHENS WHEN THERE IS A BOGO DEAL UNLESS YOU WANT TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR.

Yelp
Don't waste your $, rude service for a sub par food. Mainly lack of flavor. If you want authentic food try somewhere else.

Yelp
I had used Local Kitchens more than a few tines, and it's always quick, and reliable. It is either pick up at the Lafayette hub, or being delivered to my work. It has Proposition Chicken, Senior Sigsig, and recently added Homeroom and Milkbar desserts. The people who work there are friendly and helpful. I always pick up Mango lassie or Hortchata Ube from their mini fridge if I happen to stop by. Ultimately, I will probably use this place for delivery because they have Homeroom Jalapeno Mac and Melt burgers and with the Crack Pie from Milk bar for dessert. They also are pretty accurate with drop off and delivery Etas.

Yelp
Self order, no where to sit and eat inside, but picnic tables outside, little parking. I think they can do something about hiding all the boxes or kitchen a bit, kind of a exposed storage. Food was fairly quick after order. Prices are very elevated for what you actually get. The falafel balls are tiny. If you get soup with noodles, the amount of noodles you get are next to nothing, you'd get more noodles from cup o noodles, than what you get here. Despite the very tiny food or small amount you get at a high price, the flavor is good.

Yelp
When walking in to local kitchens I was pleased with how simple and easy it was to us the ordering menu. The staff was very nice and friendly. I sat outside with my wife on the picnic tables and enjoyed a nice meal. The hummus was amazing but the fried chicken sandwich was not as good as the original proposition chicken. Definitely recommend coming here!!
