We tried the Fully Loaded Crispy Potatoes, Spicy Chicken Quesadilla, Ahi Tuna Poké Bowl (with tofu), Blackened Chicken Curry Bowl, and Pinche Pork Tacos – all super tasty. The Spicy Guava Margarita and Pink Spritz were refreshing too. The staff were really friendly and even offered a tofu substitute for me as a vegetarian, which I really appreciated. We sat on their adorable heated patio – cozy and perfect. Can’t wait to come back for a veggie burger

The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were all super friendly. The food was tasty too. The only thing that bothered me a bit was that during the one hour we were there, about six different people came to our table to ask if everything was okay. I appreciate good service, but it felt a little too much and made it hard to relax.

We recently had the pleasure of visiting this amazing spot, and it truly delivered on all fronts. From the moment we arrived, the charming outdoor setting created a warm and welcoming atmosphere—perfect for a sunny day out. The nachos were a standout, layered generously with flavorful toppings and just the right amount of crunch. Pairing them with a beermosa was a fantastic choice—the refreshing citrus notes complemented the snack beautifully and added a fun twist to our evening. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the staff. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm, they made us feel right at home and ensured we were well taken care of throughout our visit. All in all, a delightful place with great vibes, delicious food, and excellent service. Highly recommended!

This has one of the best patio for dog owners in the area. Services have always been great. The breakfast potatoes at brunch is a must try. It becomes one of our regular spot to take our dog to.

I think it's quite good. The seats are all very tidy. The waiters are very friendly. Especially when answering questions, they really answered every question asked. Of course, you could say this is because of the tip. But you can also say that all restaurants need to give tips, and not every service is done well. I ordered the Brooklyn burger. The portion was relatively small, which was suitable for my little stomach. The side fries that came with it were also quite good. If it’s still with some veggies will be perfect. I recommend choosing a light local draft beer for me. It suits my taste.

Best and most consistent bar/restaurant in Leaside! Hands down most consistent restaurant in the Leaside area. The drinks and food are always 10/10. For food my recommendation would include the Loaded Potato’s, Beet Hummus, and The Local Burger, also the new curry is amazing. The best drink in my opinion is the Spicy Guava it’s a must try. The service is always stellar here, we had an absolutely 1 of 1 experience last time we visited for my partners birthday. We were treated with such class, and such friendly energy, best restaurant experience we’ve had. Chirstina helped us whenever our server wasn’t around and was very nice. Mia provided and accommodated our time (my girlfriends birthday) with the most passion and integrity. Best server and service. She was very attentive and caring, she made my girlfriends birthday the best. Vicco (the assistant manager) made my girlfriends birthday truly memorable. She celebrated our experience and made us feel loved and genuinely respected. She made her birthday very special. Literally 1 of 1 service and experience, highly recommend The Local Leaside for the consistency, quality and great service. Parking lot is also great and there’s more parking around the area.

The food was perfect, we tried the shrimp dumplings, fried chicken starters, and the baked pulled pork pasta, draft beer was also very good. Kaitlyn was lovely, fast and I loved her suggestions! Will come back!

This place is a vibe!! Our server Ben was amazing and the food! I wasn't that hungry and wanted a snack so I got the perogies and onion rings. Wow!! They used panko breadcrumbs for the onion rings and they were so good! They weren't greasy and maintained their crispness. The perogies were sheer bliss. The combination of the bacon, caramelized onions, and scallions were a beautiful complement to the cheese perogies. My friend had the blackened chicken sandwich, and my other friend had the fish and chips. No complaints! We'll definitely be back and will try their brunch.

We attended Local for lunch and had a great experience. Brook was our server and she was pleasant, helpful and efficient. There was a good selection and food and beers to choose from. The patio had umbrellas which kept things cool. Georgie.

Nice sport pub ambience inside, relaxing patios outside or upstairs. Good, tasty meals. My server, Dekra, was friendly and responsive.

Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 I came here with a bunch of my coworkers on a weekday. We made a reservation beforehand as it was close to Sky Zone, where we were before. The atmosphere was really not bad, sitting upstairs kind of like an indoor patio area. With a size of 15+ people, the place was a little bit cramped but not too bad. The waiters took so long to come take our order, it was quite bad. I think we sat there waiting for the food order to come around for over 30 minutes. They did manage to get our drink orders first though, perhaps the only saving grace. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and one of my friends ordered their spicy wings appetizer. My quesadilla wasn't too bad, though if it didn't have the creamy jalapeño sauce, it would have been quite tasteless. My friend's chicken wings were very salty though, with no spice in the taste. Overall not a bad place for a group but quite expensive for the quality of food we got.

January 19/2024: Lunch w Slipp. There was nothing specifically wrong with this restaurant. The servers were adequate, the food was small but not bad tasting & the location itself was ok. Bathroom needed some cleaning. The sandwich was $45.00!! Holy crap! Small sandwich, 8 onion rings...that was it. It's hit its breaking point. I mean $45.00!! Seriously!?

I love the setting in this restaurant . There is a regular patio as well as a rooftop. Friendly staff, excellent food and great atmosphere. Parking is a bit problematic and limited but there is plenty of parking across the street.

I was at this Leaside spot right on Laird at opening time, when I needed something to eat. I had the eggs bene, which was perfect! It's one of the new style social eateries, beer hall style places with plenty of room to move around, talk loudly and chill out as well. The fact that they can make a decent breakfast is a great option in the area, which is mainly suburban fast food from across the street. I enjoyed chatting with the staff who were friendly and accommodating while they were preparing for the work day. I wouldn't hesitate to stop by in the evening for a drink when in the area. Worthwhile checking out!

We had a nice dinner here. The vibe is nice and service is good too. We had a delude burger and it was very tasty and the chips were good too. Bacon with nice cheese... Very nice burger. We started with some potato skins which were cut into small pieces and looked different but were very tasty. We also had the fried chicken appetizer which was very good. They had a lovely Asian like spicy sauce on nice crispy chicken. Really tasty! We would cone back here... Nice spot..

This is the GOAT of restaurants in Toronto, every time I go I enjoy the scrumptious amazing food, amazing ambiance, being a low-key bar with allow my kids, amazing service, with the waiters being very nice.

I love this restaurant. Multiple levels. And a patio. This place is gigantic. The servers are all very kind. And the food is fantastic. Definitely a spot that I seek out. I absolutely love the Caesar salad and I highly recommend it.

Used to love this place, but portions are getting smaller and smaller each time I visit. Service slipping up to, and music lately has been set to 11. Having said that, the food is really good and consistent. Taste has never disappointed.

Went for lunch for the first time in awhile and had a curry dish plus added $2 for cauliflower rice. Dish tasted very good nice moderate level of spice and lots of ingredients. Only real complaint is small portion size and fairly hefty price tag. Still it was very good if probably order it again despite my "complaints".

We walked through Local Leaside's doors just before noon on a weekday, and the place was already about half full. The scant booths were taken, so we were stuck with a high table. (Seriously, why so many high tables?) Anyway, I knew walking in what I wanted to eat: The Diablo Hamburger ("Cheddar & jack cheese, hot sauce, pickled jalapeños & onions") and I substituted a salad for the fries. It arrived about 15 minutes later and it's definitely quite impressive in appearance. The burger looked like something you'd see in an advertisement, so I was impressed by the amount of care that went into preparing it. How did it taste, though? Pretty darn good. The various flavors all worked really well together and it's fairly spicy, as well. I can't tell you much about the patty itself, as its flavor and consistency was obliterated by the condiments and somewhat dense bun. But given the effectiveness of the overall package, I wasn't too disappointed by this. The side salad was quite tasty, too, and the service was quick and efficient.

While the food and service are superb, I am in a wheelchair and my contact there LIED to me about the accessibilty and the washroom. This deceit should be criminal. He wanted only to get my money. Now he gets my rathe. I should have pissed on the floor

Local Leaside is my go to pub. Its the site of a former bank and the interior has a unique industrial look and feel to it. They always offer amazing service and above average quality chain restaurant food. The star of the show is their ground level bar with a large number of TVs to watch a game and decent craft beer selection which is frequently rotated. If you're unsure if you'll like a beer, ask for a sample. My favorite is their fish tacos, they never disappoint. My only complaint would be the size of some of their appetizers. While the value may not be there, the taste is!

Food is generally good, from what I've ever had. I chose to come here today for eggs Benedict. On the patio. There are 17 tables, only one server. Having been in service all My life, I have had sections of 15 tables. It is totally manageable if the stage is set: have a slide station outside-side plates, water pitchers, cutlery, condiments, possibly even a bus pan or two. Have an armoire or a low shelving unit with doors or drawers so things can be concealed. The door to the building / patio: either keep it open, or make it easier to manage (it's heavy), and that's not fair to the staff. Teach the staff to address customers as soon as they arrive. "I'll be right with you", "how many in your party?" and get them menus right away so they have something to do. Having a stressed or overwhelmed servers stresses the customer. Or, this customer, anyway.

Seat yourself. Literally. Go inside and just sit okay. There will always be someone there to help you. This place becomes all types of crowds. Families after a game, seniors, hipsters, young whipper snappers looking for drinks... everyone is welcome. Their menu is that little folded square on the table. There's a variety of things to pick from but not many. Enough that you'll find something to eat but not be overwhelmed. You will be by the wine and drink options though. I got the fish and chips. (The fish isn't real. It's bass. ) the chips were yummy. You even get salad. My sister ordered the chicken tacos. She liked them. The portions are huge which is very nice. It's a good place to come after a long shopping session at the near by shoppes.

Sunday work and lunch break with my partner. We ordered super bowl to share, it's very delicious and good portion for us. Healthy ingredients and just cooked right. Super happy with our meal. Grilled avocados turmeric grains, poached grilled beets, grilled chicken, tomato braised chickpeas, arugula, almonds...so great combination and the server is very nice too! recommenced!

On Tuesday March 23rd, my daugther and I enjoyed a nice lunch on their patio. Warm sunny day! She had the Harvest Salad and said that it was delicous. I had the crispy chicken sandwich. We shared the nachos as an appetizer...which turned into the hi-light of the meal. They were fantastic! Crispy, savory, full of flavour and the serving size was gigantic!

Quick service, great and varied selection (they even have Ramen) and fun pub ambience. The sweet potato with garlic aioli appetizer is highly recommended. The servings are actually quite bigger than expected and very filling. Good thing I didn't opt for the optional 3rd Taco. Parking might be full on site, but you can park on the plaza across the street or in the residential area after 6PM (turning right from North to McCrae drive).

Wow, the Thai salad is amazing! We ordered and picked up. Food was ready in 20 mins. The fries were deliciously seasoned. We also ordered drinks, and everything was so flavourful. We will be back for more! They seem to have a rooftop patio, so that looks pretty appealing for the summer months.

What caught my eye was their rooftop balcony, hence I made it an objective to see what this place was all about. The Local is a "local" trendy bar that has a great selection of food and beer. The atmosphere is bustling, dim, spacious and friendly. Their drink menu is extensive, featuring local breweries and some main-stream labels. They've got their $5 glass of mystery wine RED or WHITE..... For food we kept it very light. Edamame: quite a good portion sprinkled with salt over it. Not bad Chips and guacamole: made in house and in front of your eyes by the server. $5 Mystery Wine. I'll have to come back here for another trip

The space is inviting the menu looks promising but the execution of the food is not up to snuff. Very busy & slow with drink order (understaffed) Order: Steak sandwich w/ fries, the steak was Perfect. Fries stone cold. Ask to be replaced. They were excellent hot. Rueben sandwich. Tasted ok. Sat under the lamp of course. And fries same as above, cold. Eggs Bene. Egg part perfect. Cold home fries. Forget side of hollandaise. Reminded and delivered, cold again. Clam Chowder. Not clam chowder this was fish soup w/very little fish and a weird undercooked mirepoix. Wouldn't recommend. Clam chowder is supposed to be thick. Watery packaged fish stock. Luke warm The absolute worst was the loaded nachos ($20). Now that was not loaded and definitely sat under the heat lamp waiting for some poor soul to pick it up. We sent it back for a fresh one. And the new one was the old one with a few nacho chips and cheese thrown over the top and tossed in the salamander. We ate the fresh top and left the rest. We let our server know, the bill came with the nachos on it. I asked for a 50% discount (for the nachos only) the manager could only muddle a $8 staff food discount because he said "we made u 2 and u did eat them" no we didn't. We ate 50% worth. Hence why we wanted discount. One star for the steak and one star for my lunch guest and kitchen staff. Get runners. Don't let food sit under the heat lamps. Cold fries, Luke warm soup, pasty melted cheese on Nachos in a restaurant this busy means the kitchen executed the meal but no one picked it up for awhile. I know I'm the douche customer that gave a 9% tip. Too bad. I usually do 25%. But I didn't like the mangers approach like I was the asshole. AnBill attached.

Cool place with delicious food and great rotating taps. We come here to watch the raptors play. They also have a great menu of fusion food and regular pub food. They also have a discounted happy hour prices menu after 9pm. However the food comes out pretty slowly.

Food was good. Nachos were great, as is the That Crispy Chicken sandwich. The #1 Tuna Poke needed more tuna. Service was friendly but negligent. We weren't given water until we asked for water and we were only 2 minutes away from getting a discount for our nachos (we were supposed to get discounts after 9pm). We still had to pay the full price for the nachos, even after bringing it up to the server. If it were up to me, I would have given a manual discount because it was only 2 minutes away from the discount.

We just ordered from this location. We ordered two burgers, fries and the mini donuts. All were well prepared and packaged. The burgers came inside a separate package within the box to keep the fries separate - nice touch. The burgers themselves were great, full of flavour. The price was reasonable for the quality you received. Definitely a positive take out experience and we will order from them again in the future!

LOCAL Public Eatery was highly recommended by a friend Pauline W so we decided to come by for a night cap. Parking on the weekend though might be an issue as the lot has limited parking spaces. I have to fight for the last one with my friend. Aside for that I had a good experience. Local beer on taps though limited but I like how they are on a rotation so I can look forward to something seasonal and different next visit. And if you prefer wine, they have wines on taps too. The bartender here is high energy and friendly. Ready to give you some recommendations or a sample before you placed your drink order. For the sport fans, there are quite a few TVs in the bar/dining area so you won't be missing any actions. And they even have a rooftop patio area for the warm summer days. $5.50 for a pint is quite reasonable priced for a craft beer. I cannot comment on the food as that would be another review if my friend would invite me to join her again for a bite at LOCAL.

This was my first time here after driving past it countless times. We randomly stopped to finally try it out and weren't disappointed. Has 2 floors with the upstairs being a rooftop patio, a rustic "local" vibe, and an open kitchen concept upstairs. To eat I tried the fish tacos which were surprisingly delicious! I kind of always expect the best but prepare for the worst eating tacos outside a non- Mexican restaurant due to past experiences, but I really enjoyed them. They were 2 decent sized tacos, seasoned to perfection with a side of fries. The mojitos were good (not the best I've had). My date got a burger with a side of fries which he enjoyed, stating that the ingredients tasted fresh. We got our food fast but service overall was average. I would've rated 3.5 stars. Would I try this place again? Yeah, probably.

On my first visit here I had the ahi tuna sandwich. I thought it was really good, but could've improved somewhat if the grill had been hotter for the searing. A great tuna steak has a bit of the crispiness and caramelization on the crust, but then you want the softness and coolness to reach pretty quickly below that. I felt it mine here wasn't quite seared, but then cooked a bit too much in the middle. That said, it wasn't too off and I liked everything in the sandwich. I tried a bite of my friend's burger and it didn't come off as well as it looked on the menu. The meat on that was a bit overcooked too. But I came by again the other day and had their huevos rancheros. I was a bit reluctant to order it, but a couple people I was with really insisted that I tried it. Man, I'm glad I did as it was so good! I was amazed at the depth of flavour of the salsa roja and perfect texture too with the right amount of spice. They must have a good supplier for their corn tortillas too as the taste really came through. A generic tortilla wouldn't have shone through the salsa rosa that it came with. Nice place with a huge beer menu and craft options up the wazoo. Their prices are very reasonable too and lower than I expected. Great ingredients for all I've seen prepared and hopefully it was just an off day for that cook who slightly overcooked things on my first visit.

I like the easy going neighborhood vibe of this pub. There are plenty of seats both inside and outside, so you can choose if you want your sun exposure for the day or not. We came on a Saturday afternoon hoping to catch the soccer game and thankfully they had several large television screens which were visible from pretty much any seat on the floor. We sat at the bar, were promptly served our drinks and the staff checked in every so often to make sure were were okay. Extra star for the diversity of patrons and the staff's friendly easy-going demeanor that made everyone fell welcomed. There was a child's birthday party at the long table, single male patrons loitering at the bar, families with their kids, several couples watching the game and groups of regulars (knew the staff by name). The most impressive was when a group of 5 young kids (like maybe grade 6 age? they were so tiny their heads barely reached the bar standing up) came in, noisily crowded the bar, energetically waved down the bartender and ordered a plate of nachos. The bartender was polite, bent down to their level to speak with them, offered them water, informed them that they couldn't be seated on the rooftop patio when asked (but why??? they all chorused) and offered to set them up comfortablly at one of the tables instead. Very impressive!

We go to both locations and the food is consistent and delicious. This review is for both locations (Leaside and Liberty Village) The service depends on how busy it is. The food and drinks are always good. The decor is rustic and goes perfectly with the food and drink selections. I don't remember ever having a bad dish. The burger arrived soggy once, the restaurant was too crowded that day, so I didn't send it back. Although the buns was soggy, I still ate it, and it was good and the beef patties were well seasoned nonetheless.

Absolutely love Local Leaside. I wait all year for it to be a hot summer day to really enjoy their rooftop patio. Cool and hip place to grab drink with my hockey team and we all love the tasty grub! The staff are super warm, and the manager Bella, was super cool and friendly! Food is delicious, drinks are good and the vibe is sensational. FOOD: FISH TACOS. That's all I'm gonna say. Guys, I've eaten so many fish tacos around the GTA and this is my FAVOURITE place for fish tacos. The fish is so crispy on the outside and soooo moist on the inside, wrapped with a soft shell, some slaw and you can ask for mayo aolie and hot sauce too! So YUM. Calamari was good. Yam friend were also good, they come with a truffle mayo so can't go wrong there. My friend always gets the chicken tacos so I guess they must be good, but I haven't actually tried them myself. And my other friend always opts for their burger and it looks delicious. Over all the menu is pretty satisfying, you can't really go wrong. Even their salads are tasty but guys I don't even order anything else besides the tacos now when I go because they are THAT good. DRINKS: Hell ya, they have sangria! I've had the red sangria here on numerous occasions, not massive but big enough to share with 3 people if I remember correctly. The ceasars are good but way too small, they come in a little boot shaped glass which is cute but I want more drink! AMBIENCE: think rustic, hip, chill. The main floor is tables and booths, they have a bar and also a pool table (I think it was a pool table or some sort of game table). Upstairs is 19+ roof top patio, with beautiful wooden tables and well lit with pretty lights. There is a TV at the bar as well if you're looking to watch sports. DATE WORTHY?: Yes, totally a cool place to bring a date! Or to go with your girlfriends or date night with your significant other! I've even brought my mom here on Mother's Day for lunch and my Dad for a dinner! My hockey team absolutely loves this place especially in the summer to have drinks on the rooftop patio! Overall, for this style of laid back food and drinks - I'd give it a 8/10. Warm service, good food, nice ambience board games were a nice touch and not to mention the menu is well priced.

Downstairs is very, very loud if it's busy--music is fairly loud, and people's voices reverb around the room, so it can be hard to hear the people you're actually with. Food was pretty good, though. Szechuan edamame was tasty, but lacking much spice (and what spice there was was unevenly distributed). The tuna club had great flavors, but the ingredients weren't distributed very evenly across the sandwich, either. Yam fries were delicious--perfectly crispy outside, soft inside, and the lemon mayonnaise they came with was very good. The fish and chips was also good, but the "chips" were very skinny-cut fries, which was a little weird. Overall, while all of the flavors were there, the execution of the dishes tended to lack a little. The atmosphere was as expected for a pub, but it would have been nice to have the music at a volume where it was possible to hear conversation across a small table without shouting. I would recommend going outside of peak hours to avoid both a wait and the noise issue.

We order from here all the time. Great food and wonderfuñ service inside when its not covid. Its really nice inside and the foodbis always delicious

This place has been amazing for take-out during these Covid times. I look forward to taco Tuesday because (and I'm quite the connoisseur) their tacos are BOMB! The fish and chicken are amazing, personally feeling the chicken today, but you can't go wrong with either. The pico, the salsa, the salad- everything is so fresh and delicious. $9 for two good-sized tacos is a great deal. And their hot sauce... Guys.. is it out of a bottle or homemade?! Either way, I need it on tap. Smoky, sweet, hot.. I could drink it!! Big Love also for these folks writing cute messages on their delivery bags, very sweet. They also sell alcoholic beverages at super great prices (almost comparable to the LCBO) and have an awesome corner shop section. The Local Leaside has been my find of the pandemic, and I can't wait to toast them with some beer and tacos in person when things open up!

Decent drinks, prices are steep for what's provided. Good ambiance if you're looking for a place to hang out and have a few drinks. Food is mediocre.

I really need to write an update review right away. Finally, I come again on a Saturday evening. The music and atmosphere is good. The place is definitely loud today, but the good music wakes me up. My Favourite shock top is daily special today. I ordered the ahi tuna sandwich. Oh my, it is just good. The large piece of ahi tuna is grilled just perfect. My another half ordered the press burger. He enjoyed it so much and his comment is "stupidly good". Love it with free Wifi. Will come back again and again!

Came here cus it was a place I've never been before so me and my friends checked it out. We were gna sit in the patio until we were told that there was a rooftop patio tap we went up and sat at the bar. Our bartender was the bomb. He treated us really well. We ordered a pitcher of sangria, guac and chips, calamari, and perogies. All were delish and they make the guac right in front of u. Price is good and good portions. One of my new fave places.

I go to this place 2 to 3 times a week and I love everything about it. Tonight I arrived at 11:45 pm, right before last call. I order few drinks and offer the hosts a drink because I knew they were tired and they did me a favor to accept my order, they politely denied my offer. As a thank you I left them 105% tip. While I was leaving the place a waitress approached me and asked if I paid in front of other customers as if she caught a thief and I said yes, she then literally took me inside to check with her coworker if I paid or not, that was humiliating, i just wanted to thank them but this is what I got. The hostess behind the bar was super nice and friendly but the other one was very very rude. I don't recall such a a thing in my life time. I will stop visiting this place as a result.

Did our co-worker's baby shower here. Finally had the much raved about fish tacos. And damn those are good! So yeah, baby shower, a ton of people. Had gifts and we brought cake which they kindly set aside for us. One of my coworkers caught the girl serving us roll her eyes when we had asked for the cake box back. Lol I get it. Sorry for holding up your table. Still 4 stars for the great atmosphere and awesome food. Cant wait for the summer time. The patio is going to be awesome.

Lovely little tucked--away patio that you'll miss unless you walk into the parking lot and peek behind the resto. Always lovely, professional staff. Great menu (although not a lot of options for vegetarians). Good coffee. Nice interior. Great place, I've been a regular for a few years!

This place has amazing and flavourful food as well as excellent service. Our order was missing one item so we called to let them know, and we were not available to pick it up so the charismatic manager was kind enough to drop it off as well as complimentary donuts. 10/10 management and customer service. 10/10 food. Definitely eat here

Been here two times and both times was for a company private party. The private parties were held upstairs and they have a nice rooftop patio as well.
