Local Roots is a wonderful restaurant with an extensive and ever-changing menu, staffed by some of the kindest and most genuine people I have had the pleasure of meeting. The food is reasonably priced and always comes out hot and delicious, ready to be enjoyed and savored. That said, where Local Roots really shines in my mind is in the events that are hosted, such as the weekly open mic nights. These events are a joy to attend, and safety/health is a priority for staff and attendees alike. I am very grateful for Local Roots and the staff/patrons that keep it going. Much love. 💙

Service was okay, pancakes were wonderful, the other reviews didn't let us down there. However the French toast with jam and berries as well as the breakfast sandwich was a let down. The server was not very helpful, they spilled the coffee a bit and it got all over the mug and table and didn't bring napkins over, and the seasonal coffee I hoped would be the highlight of the rather expensive breakfast, were just okay... nothing to reccomend to others. Definitely could have been staff working or just an off day. But coming from out of town I wouldn't stop back in as we would have other places to check out and explore. I would suggest following local reviews for a better guide on what they love about this breakfast spot and thier coffee.

Wonderful service and delicious! So very happy to have the opportunity to sit in this restaurant. Very good food, homey feel but very modern and super cafe-style atmosphere. Whole family partakes in making you feel welcome. Available for purchase are take home coffee beans, nice soft t-shirts and special dishes. I got a lentil dal special but it could have had a bit larger amount of lentils. Regardless, amazing service and fantastic flavors. The Chorizo burrito was quite substantial and my Reuben Omelette was super duper good. The beef was smoked, it was not dried out and had premium cuts in it. Delicious portions of cheese and good coffee. My father who typically doesn’t drink coffee had a large cup in their adorable raccoon mug! Special touches make this place packed on a Sunday morning, and it is no wonder! They are doing everything right. A fundraiser for the local schools was being held with a gardening buy in of flowers. So much fun. I chatted with a regular customer who referred to the proprietor by first name. This was my second time coming to the restaurant. Looking forward to another visit again soon.

Nice restaurant to visit. The food was very tasty and the staff were accommodating as much as they could have been. Food portions were sizable to fill me up. Probably my biggest complaint was the chaos that it truly looked like. We went on mother's day, and maybe it would have been busier than normal, but there seemed to be very little organization in whoe as doing what and we waited over a half hour to get our food. Again, it was busy and we expected a small wait, but L, again, very chaotic. You can't expect me to believe that this is the first time they were ever busy like this?

Great local place with a nice play area for kids! I got a cubano and my kidlet got a hot cocoa and a cookie. A++ on all three items. Plenty of high chairs for little littles too! Service is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. I love the decor! Cute wooden booths (but they have padded seats, A+!), Dark wood floors, vintage 50s tables and chairs. Looks like it would be a great place to have small meetings for groups as well. Music is pleasant but not too loud. They seem to be very supportive of local artists/makers; they have a tin man I believe is made by a local Richfieldian, soaps and cards by other local folks as well. I enjoyed the visit. I will definitely be back!

I ordered an omelette with a lady slipper drink. The food and drink looked great! The omelette had provolone, bacon, and spinach. With the cheese in the omelette and then spinach plus bacon bits on top. It was a pretty okay omelette, tasted like something I would make at home but I'd add better and more ingredients to the omelette, the ingredients portions and their choice of a few bacon crumbles was not really up to par with most breakfast restaurants. The lady slipper contained raspberry flavoring, but the flavoring was so much that it was really hard to drink, very sweet and wouldn't recommend if you want to enjoy coffee. The service was nice, the staff helped explain how to order and to just sit down, although I had to ask them, they didn't help me until I sought them out. I don't think I'll be coming back here nor would I recommend Local Roots for a breakfast meal.

This place is great! Omnivore, vegetarian, and vegan options for really affordable prices. Staff is friendly and helpful with selections or alterations. Super family-friendly with a glass walled family room. So even if you don't like little ones that much, there's plenty of separation. The vibe is great with an open concept that's not too loud and classic music selection that won't offend even the pickiest taste. To top it all off, they have a pet friendly patio.

This place has excellent good and drinks. Love the signature, Minnesota-themed beverages. All food is made in-house, and all art featured throughout the place is made by local artists. Will definitely be returning to Local Roots many times!
