The Philly taco was amazing but the shrimp taco was so so. The coleslaw that was on it was very vinegar heave so made it sour. I just picked the shrimp out and ate them. Was told the street corn had cheese on top but it was a spoonful of mayo, it was ok when mixed well but not the best. Service was amazing. I would eat there again just leave out the slaw and not get the street corn.

Came as a recommendation from friends who live in the area and swear by it. It’s definitely white people mexican food. One if the sauces on my tacos reminded me of the Panera Asian Sesame Salad Dressing. Very tasty. The side of beans were disgusting.

We hired Local Taco to cater our son’s wedding rehearsal. We live in GA and Local Taco was recommended by the bride’s family as they are good friends with the owners. Mrs. Annie was very helpful with the multiple text inquiries I made. Very patient and timely in her communication. The food was delivered right on time and Jenny, who did the set up, was so very helpful and professional. At less than $17/plate, the meal was provided at a reasonable expense…considering other catering options. Our guests were pleased with the meal we provided. Everything was delicious.

Awful! Avoid Avoid Avoid! Management does not care and this does not live up to the Laco Taco name quality or standard. This is a $4.50 tender and an underdone flute. Management changed and this place is not worth time or money.

Had not been back to local taco since its grand opening.. and I'm sad that I missed this goodness for so long. Server was very pleasant and tables were wiped but not necessarily clean. However, the tacos more than made up for that oversight. The place was busy but food came out quickly. Had the nashville hot chicken and blackened grouper tacos, which were delicious. The mixed veggies were piping hot, but I was not overly enthusiastic about all of the onions. Overall I highly recommend trying this place and I will be back.

Google
The service here is top notch. We got the baja taco, Philly taco and the Commonwealth, and we also shared the salad. The baja, has some pickled vegetables that just like a pickle on a hamburger changes the taste of the meal (if you like the pickle taste keep this if you don't make sure to remove it), but otherwise this was a delicious taco. The Philly was like having a very small chicken Philly sandwich. The Commonwealth is different, it uses the bourbon sauce and gives it a unique flavor. The salad came with avocado ranch dressing which really made this salad, otherwise it's just a normal salad. But again I don't remember when or if I've had service this nice before.

Google
One of a kind. This is not a vanilla, cookie cutter americanized mexican restaurant. I felt like I was at a cooking competition, fantastic!

Google
I tried Local Taco one more time before I give up all together. I ordered the chicken bowl with black beans and rice. It tasted like vinegar, chicken was dry. I came weekly when there were other owners. The food was so flavorful and I looked forward to eating here. I will not be returning.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I ordered two fish tacos with rice and a drink. The tacos were covered in this spicy slaw and only had three tiny pieces of fish! I was unimpressed. The rice was not Mexican rice, but Rice-a-Roni. I ate that rice as a kid and hated it. This was NOT Mexican food at all! It was tasteless and bland. You can get better Mexican food at Taco Bell. Don't waste your money.

Yelp
We stopped by on a late Friday night for a snack after an event with work. The flavored corn was awesome. Included cheese, guac, pico, pork, etc. Loved it. Decent selection of craft beers to chose from. Look forward to visiting again earlier in the day instead of a late night visit along with enjoying the menu and food items.

Yelp
Recently stopped by for lunch at Local Taco as we traveled through Bowling Green. We sat on the patio as we had our dogs with us. The waitress who took our order was attentive and made sure we were taken care of. We placed our orders for chips with salsa and guacamole, as well as a combo special with a Korean taco, shrimp taco, elote (off the cob) and Philly steak quesadilla. The salsa and guacamole were both pretty good, with the guacamole being my favorite. The elote tasted like canned corn with a little spice, not the best I have tried. The tacos were rather bland, and I wouldn't order either of those again. My husband kindly gave me a piece of his quesadilla, and it was delicious! Plenty of steak, onions, peppers, and flavor. This is the item I would definitely recommend. If I stop by again I would love to try the voodoo fries, and maybe one of the other quesadillas. All in all, a pretty good experience with this location. Thanks, LT, for giving us a good place to stop as we travel through BG.

Yelp
While visiting Bowling Green, my family decided it was time for lunch. Found Local Taco and visited. Was quickly seated and placed our order. My son had the quesadilla. I had a fried chicken taco and a fish taco. My wife had the Gringo taco....... appropriate for her. Started with the chips and queso. Service was quick and efficient. Meal was wonderful. Tacos had a touch of heat, but nothing serious. It was q great meal.

Yelp
I was playing a disc golf tournament in Bowling Green. While I was using Yelp to find awesome places to eat, I came across Local Taco. I looked at the menu and said this was a no-brainer to try. Unfortunately, my first attempt was on a Monday and they were closed. Why is Monday a popular day for restaurants to close? Anyway, I made it on a Friday for lunch. There were so many tacos I wanted to try! The best deal is the combo which has 2 tacos, a side, and a drink for $11.50. I asked the waitress if I could have salsa as my side and after checking with the manager, it was a yes! Because I really didn't want to pay $3.50 for salsa and it wasn't never ending! But the salsa was homemade and terrific. I really don't understand how places get away with charging salsa and chips when you find them for free. Anyway, I went with the Carolina and since I was in Kentucky, I had to go with the Commonwealth. These were among the best tacos I've ever had! The Carolina comes with pork, slaw, and BBQ sauce. The Commonwealth had more moving parts with fried chicken in a brown sugar/bourbon glaze, pico de gallo, fried poblano peppers, and ancho aioli. I considered giving this review a 5 based on the tacos alone but I couldn't do it. The unrefillable salsa was one problem. But the bigger problem was finding the second most unsweet sweet tea in Bowling Green after my fiasco at Smokey Bones. This is strike two Bowling Green! I asked my waitress if they had sweeter tea and she said she could give me sugar. Stop letting these Yankees make sweet tea, Bowling Green! They don't know how! I will be back for more tacos but I'm bringing my own damn sweet tea.

Yelp
Went to lunch at this restaurant. So glad we did. The service was fantastic. What a group of upbeat, smiling servers. So polite too. They constantly checked on our table and helped each other deliver food to other patrons. We got a queso dip with ground beef as an appetizer and it did not disappoint. The chips were hot, fresh, crispy and the right amount of salt. I ordered a fish taco (grouper) and my wife had a ground beef taco. Both were excellent. We ended up getting a churro for dessert. Excellent again! Hot, crispy but soft. The chocolate sauce was good too. Our server was Gwyn. She is the best! You really need to try this place if you haven't been. Bright. Clean. Great vibe. Patio dining available too.

Yelp
Hours are not consistent won't be ordering from them again I have called on 3 different occasions they have closed a hr or more early. your hours are your hours either you close at 8 or 9

Yelp
Great spot and good vibe when waking in. It's a seat yourself joint and they have patio seating where almost everyone was. I chose a nice little spot inside and was greeted promptly. Ordered frozen margarita and chips/salsa. Being from Texas I did not expect much for a KY establishment, but the salsa was decent and the chips were plentiful. Asked for Tajin on my rim and they were out, but tried by adding some of the spice they put on top of the street corn. Not the same, but appreciate them trying. Rita was decent and reasonable price, but not out of this world. Had the Korean BBQ taco and blackened fish taco. Both were very good, but wish the tortillas were cooked a little more. Service was very good and I did not lack for anything. All in all this is a great little place with a cool vibe and decent Tex-mex fare. I would go back the next time I am in town.

Yelp
Food and service is always amazing! I always get the combo that comes with two tacos, a side, and a drink. The chicken philly taco and the Mexican street corn( off the cob) are amazing.

Yelp
Outstanding flavors, very creative menu. We love it! My fav is the Korean bbq taco I would get it again and again

Yelp
I attended a wedding on may 11, 2024 catered by local taco, the food was amazing! Something for everyone! I love pico and it was on point. Everyone raved about the food!

Yelp
As a displaced foodie from St Louis, my typical reaction to most Bowling Green area restaurants ranges from "meh" to "I won't be back." Local Taco is so good at everything they do that they have become one of my all-time favorites...anywhere and anytime. First of all, the staff is top notch...always clean-cut, polite, friendly, attentive, efficient...well chosen and well trained. The food is always crisp, fresh, and seasoned perfectly, albeit a little more creative than traditional! I consider LT to be a great value on today's terms...a 2-Taco Combo with a premium side and a drink is only $11.50, and the quality and freshness leaves the "fast casual" chains (you know who they are) in the dust. Some of the best guacamole you've ever tasted is less than 6 bucks. If you haven't discovered Local Taco in Bowling Green, you are missing something special!

Christy H.

Yelp
Loved the Philly cheesesteak taco. The baha shrimp was too spicy for me. The best chips ever at a Mexican restaurant in bowling green my.
google avatar

Morgan R.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. The chips are thin, warm, and perfectly salted. The tacos are so flavorful and pair beautifully with some of the best margaritas I've ever had. This outdoor patio is perfect for a fall evening! Will absolutely be back.

Faye F.

Yelp
I like this place. So fresh and they put a nice little spin on the tacos. I had southern fried chicken and a fried fish taco. Both were perfectly executed and seasoned perfectly! I met some of the crew, a great bunch of young folks.

Yelp
Went for lunch to meet my good friend that I haven't seen in a while, this place is wild, nosy, and totally fun! Great for children, millennials and family! Service is top notch, we had Karsyn for our server, she was friendly and fast!!!! We had the chicken bowl and added lettuce to it and it was delish. Mindy had blacken grouper tacos and they were good but make sure if u don't like onions they are massive and pickled. Great lunch spot and at 12:30 it's packed!!!

Yelp
My friend really wanted to check this place out. The atmosphere was relaxed , the waiter and staff was friendly. She accidentally gave me a burrito bowl instead of a burrito but she kind enough and gave me a wrap on the side so I can make my own burrito! The food tasted really good , the sauce was very flavorful. The price was average not to pricey. I'd come back if I'm in the area.

Neill K.

Yelp
Allen the bartender was extremely polite. Good kid with a bright future. Will be back again! Hope he is working.

Yelp
Always good quality food. I usually get the Baja Shrimp and the Nashville Hot. Just like these two the most. I'll tell you though, the Blackened Grouper is very good too. Always look at the special before you order. They put some good options on the board. Thanks guys!!

Yelp
Grace was our server the other evening! She knew her stuff and was so friendly. Fast friendly service. She was very attentive and provided some great hospitality!

Yelp
Jesus I never eat disgusting food like this restaurant blind people make batter food Loots oil in my food I'm sick after eat I eat because I paid I don't have time arguments with them I'm in hurry up that time

Yelp
The food is great. Preparation and presentation as expected. The owner spent time to talk about how they use family recipes. It shows. Ellie A was a wonderful server. 5*. On my second visit, I received inattentive and distracted service from Maddie C. She couldn't have been less interested in me, the paying guest. Her focus was carrying my meal to me as quickly as possible, then returning to talk to the other servers behind the counter who didn't have a customer. I was very disappointed in my second visit, but will give Local Taco a third chance. Maddie C. will not ignore me again, I promise you...

Yelp
Everything was fresh and tasty. Friendly staff. They do a good job doing their own take on tacos, but we gotcha beat back home. Chips are thin and tasty, just the way we like them. Their salsa is made fresh but needs some "South of the Border" added to get you thinking "you're not in Kansas anymore." And...put that same stuff in the tacos too. Clean and fresh "North of the Border" style.

Yelp
A thousand times yes to Local Taco. It's rare to go out and have a quality meal under $10. At Local Taco you can. The ingredients are crunchy fresh. Meals are predictably excellent. The friendly waitstaff hustles. The kitchen staff deserves awards for quick food preparation.

L L.

Yelp
Food was great! Our service was decent. The young guy was overwhelmed with the amount of tables he had. The ambiance is what you would expect at a local taco joint.

Phylis I.

Yelp
BEST tacos around...Anywhere!! Everything is so good. So fresh! The staff always aims to please. If you've never been, you're missing out.
google avatar

Krystle D.

Yelp
This place has the best taco selection. The best corn. And the best Mexi-tots! The prices are great, and the atmosphere and service are phenomenal!

Scott A.

Yelp
Probably the best tacos I have ever had. Service was great and the establishment was very clean. If I lived here I would be here all the time. Great place.

Kenny H.

Yelp
I have been a couple of times when I was in the area. Every time I am kind of disappointed. A few tacos I really like the ingredients, but they do not cook the tortillas. They are straight out of the bag. So close, to being great, but not taking 30 seconds to cook a tortilla kills it.
google avatar

Yelp
We've eaten here before. These are not the greatest tacos I've had in the world, but they are pretty solid. I got the blackened grouper, which has good flavor. My husband got the fried grouper and I liked the texture better, but it was a little rich and salty for my taste. I also had the Korean bbq taco, made with shredded Korean beef, scallions, slaw, and sesame seeds. It was very good, but I'm not an Asian food fan. I bet fans of Asian food would really enjoy this dish. The Philly cheesesteak taco is made with gooey gruyere cheese, and though the steak was a little dry, it was one of my favorites. Also had the Nashville hot chicken taco, which was not really hot, and the seasoning was inconsistently applied. We had the chips and three trio (queso, guacamole, and salsa). Queso was pretty good, but the other two could have used seasoning. The margarita had to be made with a mix, and was subpar, would not try again. Service was attentive and nice (Lillian), so she gets five stars. They have a large garage door that was open, which was pleasant, it was not crowded, and everyone wore masks, so I felt safe during COVID 19.

Diane H.

Yelp
The food was good, no complaints about the food. The service was rushed. Waitress picked up our food that we were still eating put down the check and said no rush we could sit and talk as long as we want. Then tried to take the check and cash from under my hand. I had to tell to wait while I took a pic of the check she waited stood right there and stared at me.

Jon J.

Yelp
Always busy and for a reason... it's really good. The restaurant's vibe is fun/casual and the service is good. Loads of choices... personal favorites: fried grouper, fried shrimp, and the Nashville Hot tacos. Have been different times with different folks ordering different things but the reviews are always the same-- great tacos!
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Great flavor, and service. I only gave four stars because I wasn't a fan of the hot sauce I requested. I prefer hot and spicy vs. hot and sweet; and I wasn't a fan of the caramel filled churros (I didn't read the description on the menu- that's my fault! but other than that, great flavored tacos. My husband had the nachos. He really enjoyed the flavor. The only thing missing was he used more cheese
google avatar

Yelp
Yu never know when its open or closed We went twice on normal hous but has been closed and they never update web site. Not giving them a third chance
google avatar

Yelp
the food is great, the staff is nice and a lively environment. the deal with 2 tacos, a side and a drink is a great deal and you definitely get your money's worth

Yelp
YUM!!! Absolutely delicious tacos!! And easy to customize for food intolerances/allergies. I highly recommend the blackened grouper tacos. I have some food allergies, and the chef came out to tell me exactly what the ingredients were in their jicama slaw. That was greatly appreciated! He then came around to check on all the tables. We loved the food and service, and the atmosphere was very nice. We'll be back! If you want a good drink, get the big baller margarita!

Erica T.

Yelp
Fantastic food!! We eat here almost weekly!! It's fabulous!! Best Queso in BG! Hands down!
google avatar

Kenny K.

Yelp
My Mexican friend refers to these as white people tacos. They're pretty good though. I'm a white person.

James L.

Yelp
Always enjoy, have tried multiple locations, food always dependable and innovative. Drinks are good. Have always gotten good service.

Yelp
We were visiting from out of town and our friend reccomended this place. i am so glad she did! Although 1 1/2 hours away from home we will be back for sure. It was impressively delicious - I had gotten the blacked shrimp taco and my bf had gotten the blackened shrimp taco , Korean BBQ , and the commonwealth. They were all soo good but my favorite was the shrimp for sure. Their salsa was said to be made in house and honestly was the best salsa ive ever had. The waitress had brought over the owner as we had some questions of what was in the salsa. He was very warm and welcoming. I would definitely suggest trying this place out if you are in town. 10/10

Kelly H.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch. Ordered chips and salsa, tortilla soup, baja shrimp taco, and philly cheesesteak taco. Employees were super nice and attentive. Service was quick and food was amazing! I would recommend and come back!

Amy H.

Yelp
We are traveling from Florida and love Mexican food. During our travels over the years we've experienced lots of bad Mexican food. We didn't set our expectations too high when we decided on this place. Everything was AMAZING! We had five people in our group and every single person was happy with their food! The prices are very reasonable, which is surprising considering how good the food is! Don't skip this place. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
We stopped here for dinner on our way south for Spring break. We ordered chips and guacamole to start. The guacamole was delicious and the chips were fresh, thin, and crispy. I enjoyed a house margarita on the rocks. It was fantastic! My husband and I both had the Southwest salad. The salad ingredients were very fresh and the avocado ranch dressing was yummy! Our daughter had the veggie quesadilla and enjoyed it. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant for a delicious meal!
google avatar

Drake M.

Yelp
First off we hat the caurto which was guac red and green salsa and queso which were all very good. The queso was very creamy and was made with Oaxaca cheese and Mexican heavy cream cream. I also got a strawberry berry margarita which was sour and good. The tacos I got were the Korean bbq and Nashville hot chicken. I would have got the Korean in a bowl if I went again the Nashville hot was good except the pickles on it were sweet

Yelp
Came here today for the first time on a whim. Originally drove out to the area for Starbucks but found this restaurant while looking on google maps. I'm a big fan of tacos and needless to say I'm glad I stopped in! So, upon entering the building I walked up to the checkout desk and one of the waitresses informed me I can sit anywhere and someone will be right with me. Acknowledgement as a customer is the main goal. So I seated myself at the bar seeing as mostly all the tables were taken and there were only a few open but since I was there by myself there was no since in sitting at one when someone else with a bigger group could use it. So, to cut to the main line here, the waitress started me off with a drink while I browsed the menu. Allot of the food on there sounded delicious but I figured, first time being there I would pick a few things I knew I would like. When the waitress came back over I was ready to order. I ended up ordering the voodoo fries, fried catfish taco, Baja shrimp taco and the Carolina taco. It was a very short weight which I was very happy about normally when you go to a restaurant and there are a lot of customers in there it usually takes a significant amount of time to get your order which is more than understandable. I'm not sure who brought my food out it seemed like maybe the owner or the head cook which was pretty awesome to be provided service like that as a customer. So thumbs up to them so my opinion of my order, I was a huge fan of the shrimp taco and the voodoo fries. The Carolina taco was pretty good as well. Now onto the catfish taco, I wasn't really as big a fan of it. I mean it wasn't terrible but it wasn't something I could see myself ordering my next time around. Overall I had a great experience. It was a very clean establishment and excellent service. The waitress made sure I was taken care of with multiple refills and whatever else I needed which was amazing because a lot of restaurants the waiters/waitresses tend to not really make you feel like you're wanted as a customer. So with all of that being said I would highly recommend checking this place out if your ever in the area. Quality of food and service 10/10

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
I have always loved their food but the service tonight was over the top. On a busy friday night at 6:00 I expected a wait. The parking lot is always busy so my husband dropped me off. A waitress approached me and asked me how many were in my party, I told her 2 and asked her how long the wait would be, she replied, not too long as a few tables in her area we're finishing up. I went outside to tell my husband that he should park so we could eat there. When I walk back in the owner approached me and said there were probably three groups ahead of us, of which I knew a couple walked in after me, I told her I had already been in and she said she would keep an eye open for a table. I was approached by yet another waitress, who asked how many in our party and said she would also keep an eye open for a table in her area. We were seated within 10 minutes as well as the other parties that came in at about the same time. The service was fast, food amazing, especially the trio appetizer of salsa, guac and their not to be missed queso with addictive chips. Blacked grouped tacos and baja shrimp tacos were outstanding.

Yelp
After a long day hiking and spelunking at Mammoth Cave my wife and I were anxious to get some food on the way back to our Airbnb. Specialty taco shops are some of our favorites back home in Pittsburgh so we decided to test out the selection at Local Taco. Between the 2 of us we got 6 tacos and a chips and salsa. It was more food than we would regularly have needed, but like I said, a long day at Mammoth piqued our interest and appetites. We got the Nashville Hot, Carolina, Brisket, Baja Shrimp, Fried Grouper and Korean BBQ and went half-half on each one. We're suckers for fish tacos so I think the grouper took the top spot for both of us and then our voting order varied for the remainder. I liked that the ingredients were fresh, the meat portion was ample, and the flour tortillas held up well and didn't break or send condiments spilling out everywhere. The reason I'm giving 3 instead of 5 stars is because there was a stiff bit of plastic that I chomped down on in the Baja taco and then when I dug a chip into the salsa I found a more flexible bit of clear plastic... I don't know where these would've come from...I thought once was a fluke, but when I saw the second one I lost my appetite and tossed the remainder. Kind of a shame cuz the salsa tasted great.

Yelp
LOVED IT! This was our first experience here. We ordered two tacos each and she'd them so we could try more things. We had awesome service from Mya. We started with the Flautas which had much more bean filling than we anticipated, but the flavor and sauce were very good. All tacos had layers of serious flavors and each was very unique. Ranking the tacos from my most favorite first, we tried the Baja Shrimp, Nashville Hot Chicken, Korean (meat a bit tough but super flavorful), , and the Fried Avocado. We also tried the Street Corn (off the cob) - it too tasted great. The one negative would be that overall the food had very little variation of texture-everything was soft. To be totally fair, my wife did not like the food as well as I did, but her only real complaint was the lack of texture. The prices are great!!

Suzy R.

Yelp
Definitely coming back to this place!!! Had the Trio Dips with tortilla chips. Queso was awesome!! I had the chicken flautas, friends had the Korean Bbq taco and other friend had Baja shrimp taco. We all really liked what we ordered! Rare find for us who are from Southern Ca.
