Local Taco

Absolutely atrocious. The chips were served dripping in grease. The red salsa served with the chips and salsa had gone bad. I sent it back and requested the tomatillo salsa instead. The host graciously switched them out. However, when my tacos came out, they were also drenched in the aforementioned bad salsa. The one taco that wasn’t covered in expired salsa was horrendously bad. The meat was massively overcooked, to the dryness of fall leaves, and then covered with a syrupy sweet sauce reminiscent of sweet and low dissolved in ketchup. If burning money on inedible food is your idea of a great meal, then Local Taco is the place for you.

I had been excited to finally go to the Local Taco. Took two friends here for our collective birthday lunch. Not so happy with our experience here. Food was adequate. No real flavor. I had to season with a bunch of salt, pepper and hot sauce. Prices were to high for me to do that much to make it taste good. Parking was easy at lunchtime. Aside from my food, service was excellent.

Local Taco here had a slump but is turning the corner. My chicken quesadilla was tasty and well made. The shrimp taco was amazing, especially for only $3. Ingredients were fresh and service was prompt and friendly. I'll go back.

This review is in regards to Local Taco's catering. We contacted them in early August about handling the food for our wedding on September 30th. Chelsea (the catering manager) was great from the very beginning (meeting with us and going through exactly what our needs would be and how best to fulfill them). When they day came everything from the food to the provided staff was excellent and our guests had nothing but praise to say for the company. Working with Local Taco for our big event was a pleasure, especially with such a short notice, and myself and my new wife would recommend them to anyone looking for great food and service for a catered event

I have been infatuated with fish tacos ever since I had my first one in San Diego. If I go to a restaurant with fish tacos on the menu, I order it. Local Taco has the best fish tacos in Nashville in my opinion. The added jalapenos give an extra kick that I love!

Local Taco is a nice place to chill and have a few well priced tacos and margaritas. Local Taco is a big hit in Nashville. The food and drinks are not bad, but they are not great either. The tacos are a little bland lacking in flavor or overwhelming on the taste of flour tortilla. The margaritas are okay, but all you really taste is the triple sec they put in it. There are several other places in the city that offer a much better crafted margarita and better tasting tacos for the same price. If you are looking to try something new, sure check it out. But if you're coming here expecting the best tacos and margaritas, you may be let down.

Tried to go to another restaurant close by but they somehow were out of everything. We ended up walking into local taco about 10 minutes before close (which we NEVER do). Food was amazing. Staff was super nice and did not make us feel rushed at all. Will definitely be back. Recommend the fajita bowls-delish!

You know I don't really get why people like this place. I would really judge it as mediocre in terms of both food and price, but what really brought it down to me was 2 things in particular which I will detail in a bit. But lets start with the food. The small (yes, pretty dang small for the price being sold one by one) tacos taste pretty good, but again, too small for the cost. They are not amazing, they are just a little above average. Same goes for the drinks - they are nothing strong, and not exactly out of the ordinary either. That being said, even during happy hour they are not particularly cheap. If I recall correctly, happy hour just means one dollar off the price.... seriously? That's hardly a difference. Sounds more like just making it different so that you can CALL it happy hour. The other thing that got me was the fact that I came here for the FOOD, and the cashier was really not helpful AT ALL. I mean , I understand if you're vegan, but at least know your menu.... she couldn't even offer me a suggestion besides the fully vegetable taco. Thanks, but I want some flavor. Not coming back.
