Yelp
Summary: come here. Now.
Ambience: Texas, upscale, casual, quirky, elegant, saloon, this has a little bit of everything for everyone.
Service: from the jump, the people were excellent. Connor (our waiter) was prompt, personable, easy to have a convo but also sensitive to when you were having one of your own. About as good as they come - he felt like a waiter and family at the same time.
Mac n cheese: is the new top dog for me. Thick chunks of wagyu beef bacon, pasta is cooked perfectly, cheese is creamy, saucy, and perfectly salty. If my cholesterol could handle it I'd eat it once a week.
Angus Brisket: literally didn't need a knife. Bark was good, and the fat is easy to trim if you don't want it. The Bbq sauce came in a medicine bottle, which was a nice touch.
We tried two sausages: pepper garlic and jalapeño cheddar. Both were brown (not red), so don't freak out. It tastes fine - jalapeño cheddar seemed to have more flavor.
Cole slaw & potato salad: very balanced, not too sweet/tart/creamy. Veggies were crisp.
Texas toast was home-made (not from Walmart).
This meal was so good I even liked the water. But after talking to the bartender, there are a few cocktails that need some trying, as well as some desserts.
This is one of the few places where you want everything on the menu, and their execution backs it up. It's probably my new local favorite - we'll see after exploring the menu more.
