What a pleasure it was to discover the culinary excellence of Terracina at Locanda Altobelli. Gioele and his father were the perfect hosts, even accommodating me inside when the heat outside was, as they say in Rome, “se sfiata” (unbearably hot). The cozy, interior felt like stepping into a family dining room, where conversation flowed as easily as the wine. Gioele was a master at pairing dishes, and his suggestions led to an amazing culinary journey. He and his father were incredibly attentive, funny, and genuinely authentic — the kind of hospitality that turns a meal into a memory. The food was nothing short of extraordinary. I started with the Tartar di manzo, briciole di tarallo, capperi di Pantelleria e maionese — the beef was velvety and delicate, with the crunch of tarallo crumbs and the briny pop of capers creating perfect balance. Then came the Capapreto con sugo di capra dei monti lepini alla sonniese, a slow-cooked masterpiece whose sauce was rich, savory, and layered with deep, lingering flavors. To finish, the Guancia di manzo brasata e purè di patate aromatizzato was pure comfort — the beef melted effortlessly, and the purée carried a gentle fragrance that made each bite feel indulgent. Every plate was presented with care, every flavor in harmony. Locanda Altobelli is an absolute must-visit in Terracina — not just for the food, but for the warmth, generosity, and joy that come with it.

Mamma Mia!! First and foremost, this place is a gem! Don’t be fooled by the restaurant’s somewhat simple exterior. Inside you’ll find a cozy space with excellent service and fantastic food. No wonder this restaurant is recommended by the Michelin Guide. We were a party of eight from Norway who visited, and I can say hand on heart that this is the best restaurant in Terracina. To be clear, they don’t serve fish, but my goodness, the dishes they do serve are superb! The service is fantastic and the food just as good. After visiting Locanda Altobelli the first time, we decided to reserve the rest of our dinners here. No reason to settle for second best. Thank you so much for the food! 😀❤️

We found this place from the Michelin recommendations and it is worth the visit. The food and the service was amazing. We had 2 starters , Vitello vitellato and the tartar. As main dish we had beef cheeks with black trifle and pasta with with black garlic and veal tartar. Nice experience!

adding one extra STAR for the outstanding food experience. Delicious dishes prepared with imagination, skills, care and love. Great service with knowledgeable and attentive servers. Let them guide you through the impressive menu to discover how local ingredients turned into a fantastic taste experience. Homemade bread, extra little finger food between courses, colorful and unexpected desserts... Surprisingly not expensive considering the quality of the food. We loved everything and we'll come back soon.

Incredible culinary experience near the historic city center of Terracina. Every dish was explained by the waiters and enjoyed to their very end.

We are stay last week with our baby in the restaurant. Absolutely best premium service and very very good dinner many thanks for the time :-) best wishes from Germany (Lüdenscheid) We will come back from Germany :)
