Cute little restaurant in downtown Pleasanton. Staff were friendly and attentive. Seating options both inside and out. The ambience was cozy and relaxing. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The stuffed zucchini blossoms had crust that was too thick and were very greasy. The bolognese tasted like it came out of a can. The margarita pizza sauce lacked flavor, had too much cheese and the crust was soggy. The best part of the pizza was the fresh basil.

Excellent Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown. Food always lives up to the expectations. Service is excellent: they make you feel welcome and special. Kitchen is usually very quick. Parking is in a lot behind the restaurant, or on street. A must-visit; you will return time and again.

Great drinks and amazing food. The desserts were delicious too. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the best dishes from the menu.

The place and ambience were good. But the service is not so great. Except for the person who took our order, others were pretty serious. When they had to fill water, they pushed us aside and filled the glass and left. The person who took our order was very nice though. Food was ok. We liked brussel sprouts very much. The focaccia bread was good. But spaghetti gave some weird oil smell. Other dishes like rice balls and gnocchi are good.

Food was okay but gave it higher rating because of service and atmosphere. We ordered focaccia bread, pizza San Daniele, Vesuvio, gnocchi al tartufo, panzarotti al porcini, and the tiramisu. Liked the focaccia and truffle gnocchi the most. None of the dishes has much flavor for me. Our waiter Enzo was really great, checked in frequently and anticipated well.

I recently dined at Locanda Amalfi, and it was a fantastic experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with rustic decor and soft lighting that made the space feel cozy. The service was attentive and friendly. Overall, Locanda Amalfi delivered Italian cuisine with a twist of California fusion and excellent service. Highly recommend it for a date night or family dinner!

Loved it! Very quaint and fun! The owner was very friendly and filled my glass of wine to the brim! 😀 The food was oh so good! The portions were generous, and the service was excellent. I felt as though my friends and family were the only guests. I highly recommend this restaurant. Pricy, but well worth it!

Think Amalfi Coast authenticity filtered through California freshness! It's like booking yourself a mini Italian vacation without leaving Pleasanton. I've ordered from this place 4 times this week and I'm addicted. I've had the: Limoncello Cake, twice (usually I'm a tiramisu gal) Arancini (every bite tastes like a vacation) Spaghetti alla Vongole (I've never had spaghetti pasta taste so good, Delizioso!) Norcina (mushroom lover must try) Diavola 2.0 (reviews were mixed but I loved it) Margherita (added San Daniele Prosciutto, what a treat!) EVERYTHING tasted amazing! And this was all delivery, they're about 10mins away from where I live. Portions are smaller than Americanized plates but the quality and flavor makes every bite worth it. Bonus points for great service: on my first order, I forgot to add my apartment number. I called, and they immediately fixed it with kindness and patience. Definitely, will stop by soon to get the full dine-in experience! Ciao!

Went around 6:30 pm on a Tuesday and was pretty packed. They told us they couldn't seat us inside anymore until like another hour (there were tables open inside the entire time we were there) The server was excellent and the food came out SO fast. Like it was instant!! We got the calamari, marg pizza, and penne vodka pasta. The calamari was delicious but the mains felt short. The marg pizza was just okay. The sauce was delicious but I don't like soggy pizzas. The pasta I did some modifications- no cheese but subbed tomatoes and basil. The sauce was incredibly bland. I had to add salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and even more salt before I actually tasted a bit of flavor which was disappointing. The dessert was the best part. Limencello cake was incredible and worth the bland food. Chocolate cake was also delicious.

Poor value. Portions are small and quality is only slightly above average. $30 for pasta no larger than my fist better be good, but sadly it was mostly noodles with minimal meat/sauce/other. Increase the portion size if you're just going to make average food. The 15 people working were more chatty than the 10 tables occupied so hope you don't mind the constant background noise of the staff for your meal. TVs over the bar make the space even more casual. It's really more like a dive Italian food sports bar of sorts. I'm sure the locals appreciate it but it's not worth the stop if you're passing through or looking for anything above a 5 out of 10 experience.

I'm going to cut to the chase regarding why I'm giving a 3 star review instead of 5... the food here is excellent and the ambiance is even better (you feel like you're transported to Italy!). Unfortunately, the last time I was here (Friday, Nov. 14) I was with a friend who has a SERIOUS sunflower seed allergy. We ordered the beet salad. He asked our server if there were seeds on the salad (and pointed out it didn't say there were on the menu); He made it clear he's allergic (this is not just a preference). Our server said without a doubt there aren't sunflower seeds on that salad. Sure enough, it was brought to us covered in sunflower seeds (we obviously asked for it to be remade). I have a few issues with this: 1. A server should be familiar with the menu 2. If he/she is unsure, he should ask! Especially if it has to do with an allergy! 3. If someone at his table has an allergy, the server should take the care to bring the food to the table himself (or at least look at it before the food runner brings it). The food was being prepared less than 10ft away from where we were seated for goodness sakes! In this case, the sunflower seeds were easy to spot and avoid. But that's not always the case (for example, seed oil). And this could be lethal! Restaurant staff has to take allergies seriously! I know Locanda Amalfi can do a LOT better.

True authentic Italian restaurant located in downtown Pleasanton. The restaurant ambiance is wonderful from the blue, yellow, and bright colors really make it feel as if you're in Amalfi. There's outside seating, inside seating and a small bar section seating. The food is fresh, you can tell they make the pizza dough and pasta from scratch. They make one of the best Caesar salads we've all ever tasted, the tiramisu had the perfect balance!, the kids plates were huge, my family also loved the eggplant Parmesan, and the gnocchi mamma Carmella Aka truffle gnocchi was top notch! Will definitely be visiting again.

Something totally missed the mark for me at this place. The food was okay, but it didn't taste super authentic? The dessert and bread basket were the best things lol. I think there's better Italian restaurants out there. The rices were steep for the quality of food in my opinion. Probably won't return. 3 stars for the service and desserts.

Always a great time at Locanda. When they know who you are because you're a regular customer, they treat you like family. Even when I'm walking down the street, they will greet me and say hello. Sometimes, a hug. Food is always good. Love the Frito Misto and the Margarita pizza. We tried a new pasta: fettuccini with zucchini. Tastes like cacio e pepe. Rich and cheesy. The triple chocolate cake was delicious! Cocktails are always amazing because Tomaso is the best bartender! All his cocktails are fabulous! Try the Negroni, Gimlet Mare, Amalfi Garden, Tommy 2.0, and my favorite: La Grande Mela. Service and atmosphere is always wonderful! They always check on you - water, take plates away, see how the food is, etc. This is why I love coming back to Locanda Amalfi!

Popular local downtown pleasanton Italian restaurant famous for its pizza and pasta. The gnocchi was flavorful, truffle flavor, soft and doughy. Pizza was fresh handmade, generous cheese and fresh basil. The meatballs are huge, flavorful, a bit dry. Overall good ambience, popular with locals.

When in Pleasanton this is one of my go to spots. The service is always prompt and on point. The team is always willing to provide recommendations on new dishes and even better wine. The food is always tasty and the quality high. Fresh ingredients and love is in every bite.

Well lit area, super attentive staff, delicious food. On Fri-sun they can get pretty busy so would recommend getting a reservation. Even in a Tuesday night they were nearly full. My favorite was the norcina pizza was flavorful and cheesy. The vesuvio pizza was pretty good, it had no sauce but had prosciutto, tomatoes, and ricotta. Excited to return and try their pasta. The service was excellent.

We've dined here a number of times and never been disappointed... We've also been to a couple of their other locations like their restaurant in Lafayette. We came for lunch. I had the margarita pizza and my wife, and I shared that as well as their homemade mamas pasta... Delicious. Great service very attentive staff fun location right in the heart in downtown Pleasanton... Highly recommend.

Wow! What an incredible experience. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the attention to detail. The Mediterranean vibe, complete with decorative tiles and lemons adorning the walls. This all set a warm and inviting tone. Our server greeted us immediately and was exceptionally friendly, offering personal recommendations from the menu. His enthusiasm made us feel right at home. We came specifically to try the award-winning Margherita pizza, ranked #5 Neapolitan pizza in the world. It absolutely lived up to the hype. Its simplicity was its strength: the San Marzano tomato sauce was rich and flavorful, topped with creamy Fior di Latte cheese and fresh basil. The crust was perfectly baked with a crunch. I'd return just for this pizza alone. We also ordered the Locanda Salad, which might be one of the best salads I've ever had. The base of crisp butter leaf lettuce was complemented by artichokes, watermelon radish, Marcona almonds, goat cheese, and a light vinaigrette. It was incredibly refreshing and would pair beautifully with any of their white wines. Overall, we had an amazing experience and can't wait to come back to try more pizzas, and definitely to enjoy that salad again.

The restaurant's ambiance was quite beautiful, so we decided to take a walk there. The service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. And he checked on us regularly. For the dinner, butter lettuce salad and the gnocchi were both successful. However, I can't say the same for the short ribs. It was the driest and most flavorless short rib I've ever had. In fact, the meat looked and tasted more like beef shoulder than short rib. The polenta underneath, which should have had a creamy texture, was instead firm and dry--and it became even firmer as it sat. Drinks were so good. Thank you for the service

To celebrate my FIL's birthday, we decided on Locanda Amalfi in Pleasanton. Our reservation was for 7PM and we were seated immediately. This restaurant fired on all cylinders. From the straight forward menu, the cute atmosphere, great food and amazing service, our entire party was satisfied. For starters, we were treated to Foccacia bread with pesto. The warmth and lightness of this bread was very comforting. Add on the pesto sauce for that extra flavor kick. Our drinks and appetizers came out shortly after. I was really impressed with the speed of service. For such high quality food & beverages, the turn around time was quick! The special old-fashion that had a hint of coffee flavor was refreshing and unique. To put it bluntly, this was one of the best old-fashion's I've ever had! Water was continually being refilled by one of the staff members. My main course consisted of the beets salad with an add-on of grilled shrimp for protein. My waiter made this suggestion and I'm glad he did. It was delicious and fulfilling. The servings here are generous and plenty. Nobody left the restaurant hungry, I can tell you that much. The food shined but so did our waiter; very friendly, accommodating, generous and overall a pleasant individual to work with. He taught us a little bit about Italy and other random food & drink facts. It was a pleasant evening and I look forward to coming back!

Came here on a whim last Wednesday at around 1pm. Inside the restaurant was empty and it seemed like most folks opted to enjoy the good weather outside. Service was fast and friendly. My sister and I werent too hungry so we shared a pizza and a salad. The pizza was a delicious thin crust with proscuitto. I would come back for the pizza even though it was a little pricey. The caesar salad was drenched in dressing! It made the lettuce all soggy and was a little unpleasant to eat. They also only gave us 4 croutons which i thought was a little cheap but maybe i just like croutons! Overall, i would come back again to try more things on their menu. Just make sure to order their salads with dressing on the side!

I have been wanting to try this place for a while as I have been to the one in Livermore and the drinks were great. The service was fine. We were sat right away and our order was taken quickly. Our server was ok wasn't unfriendly not friendly either if that makes sense. The lady serving us water and the buser were super friendly. The waiter seemed to be hanging out just leaning on the counter which is weird to do in plain sight in my opinion. It was quiet and started to get a little busier as the evening went on. I ordered the Alfredo which was such a small portion with hard flavorless pasta. Wouldn't recommend it. At 25 dollars plus additional service fees. My mom got the pizza it was good flavor. The moment she pulled a piece everything fell off of the pizza. Maybe it's way too much cheese for such a thin crust. Not sure. The peppers on the side were yummy very different to anything I've had but worked well. The spritzer was nice and refreshing. Overall I was not impressed and feel like the price isn't worth the amount of food or flavor which is a bummer since it's rated so high.

Locanda Amalfi is the Pleasanton location of the Locanda chain. We have tried the Lafayette and Danville restaurants before. My Yelp bud Steve T. and his wife treated us to lunch. Located on Main Street, they have indoor and outdoor seating. The weather was beautiful so we sat outside on the patio. We started with a Margarita pizza for all of us to share. The crust was thin and had a hard time holding up to the toppings. We had the following items. Anti pasta plate Prosciutto , marinated artichoke hearts, bread sticks and buffalo mozzarella Spaghetti with clams. The pasta was way overcooked and the clams gritty. Grilled octopus good flavor very small portions Shrimp salad well dressed large shrimp Panino meatballs best dish of the meal meatball sandwich. The restaurant was not busy, service was spotty. Had to ask to refill waters and ice tea. Parking lot in the rear of restaurant.

Great dinner to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. I made a reservation online and was seated right away upon arrival. It was around 7:30 pm on a Saturday and I asked if there was any possibility we could sit outside but they were completely full. The inside ambience was still nice because of the big windows and cute decor. We ordered the caprese salad, Arincini, spaghetti alla vongole, lobster ravioli, short rib, and lamb chops (which were my favorite). For dessert we tried an affogato and limoncello cake with complimentary limoncello! Each dish was equally flavorful and distinct.

One of my favorite restaurants in DT Pleasanton. Locanda Amalfi could never fail me! Everything I've had here has been on point and their staff is warm and welcoming. We celebrated my best friend's birthday and they greeted us with a nice table outside. Everything came out quickly, everything was fire, including the drinks. Peep how aesthetically pleasing everything is! The inside dining is cute too, it's a little tight in there so I prefer eating outdoors especially when it's a warm day out. The servers also sang our friend happy birthday, gave ice cream with a candle, and we had a ball with the complimentary shots. My espresso martini had nutella and pistachios on the rim, where else do they do that at??! Every celebration here is special and even when I'm craving Italian food on a random day. Grazieeee

Great restaurant in downtown pleasanton. The decorations were subtle and simple but very inviting. They had alot of staff catering to all the needs of the guest. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. I must note that the kitchen does do a phenomenal job. The wait times for the food is minimal but in no way does that affect the flavor. That small kitchen was doing in-house order and alot of take away pizzas. My lamb was tender, medium and cooked to perfection. These guys aren't afraid of properly seasoning the food. My date had the Enzo,s branzino and it was equally delicious and I did steal a few bites from her plate. Good place good staff great location . If I am in the area again will stop by to try something else

Next level food and unforgettable service. We brought mom here for a celebratory dinner and were blown away by the quality! We started with a round of cocktails and the brussel sprouts to share. The brussel sprouts were perfectly prepared and slightly caramelized with diced bacon on top. We cleared the plate (and our beverages) and decided to order multiple entrees to share family style. In order of preference, I would rank out entrees as follows: Diaviolo pizza, Gnocchi Tartufo, and the Eggplant Parmesan. All were repeatable dishes, but the pizza fed my soul - a perfect Napolitano style crust with simple, but excellent ingredients. We finished the celebration with a tiramisu and a shots of a digestive. 10 out of 10 for food quality, portions and presentation! The ambience is casual with colorful Amalfi inspired tile work throughout. A great spot for parties and large family gatherings. Shout out to Nico for making us feel like part of the family! We will be back!

I was excited to try Italian food for my birthday. Found this spot and thought that it would be worth the try but I was a bit wrong on my judgement unfortunately. The food in my opinion did not suit my tastebuds. The noodles were hard and the sauce lacked flavor and also the amount of sauce given made the dish extremely dry. The bread received was not warm and a bit dry as well. The service was friendly and quick but also did his best to explain the menu but overall was not satisfied

LOVE THIS PLACE. The interior design is so cute and the food here is AMAZING. We were seated right away with reservations and surprisingly the restaurant was PACKED entirely on a Wednesday night. Strange right? lol. We came during valentines week and it was decorated so cute with teddy bears and Valentine's Day balloons on the ceiling. Our servers were very fast and efficient not too chatty or friendly though. You can tell they get very busy here! lol. We ordered the Mediterranean Octopus as a starter and it was yummy! It was a bit tough but still had a nice taste if you add the sauce from the sides. Compared to other places I would rate it a 3/5. Good but not great. Sorry! lol. The absolute STAR of the show was the Lamb Chops. OH MY GOODNESS I was in absolute love! lol. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri gave it a delectable flavor. I absolutely loved the veggies that they paired with it. #OBSESSED. Can I order just the veggies alone too? Because my goodness! lol. I'm not kidding. I absolutely LOVE it. We also got the Ragu Genovese pasta and it was great! It was so meaty and hearty. Also it was a very good portion size, there was sooo much to take home. lol. A couple things that could be improved is the two top table is TINY. There's hardly any room for appetizers, the center candle + flower, drinks, and food. We would've ordered more appetizers but we were squished. lol. Another thing, a smiling and/or welcoming server would have been nice. I understand "being friendly" isn't required but it would've been a nice touch to the experience. However I will say we ended up staying until closing (Sorry! Politeness foul lol.) and they never rushed us which is nice. We lost track of time and there was like 10+ people just hanging out when we left like the restaurant wasn't closed already... lol. Overall we had a lovely experience here and it was definitely super lively and POPPING on a Wednesday lol. Highly recommend the Tiramisu also. It was absolutely DELICIOUS, very shareable, and also looks AMAZING! Check out the photos. :) Definitely would love to visit again soon on a sunny Spring/Summer day! I had a chance to try Locanda Amalfi on a double date in downtown Pleasanton and this was a great experience! This is a cute Italian spot with good service and food of course. If you are looking for pasta, pizzas and an assortment of Italian delicacies this is a nice spot. For food we tried: * Foccacia bread with pesto - this was delicious, bread was yummy and went well with the sauce * truffle arancini: this was very yummy and came with a delicious truffle sauce. The arancini balls were nice and crispy with a cheesy tomatoey filling I really enjoyed * truffle gnocchi: this was yummy and soft and the truffle sauce was same as the arancini one - so pretty good and creamy. However, I liked it with the arancini more! * Pizza (got the one with prosciutto): this was pretty yummy and the husband really enjoyed this. It was pretty big and we took home some as well! *tiramisu: my favorite dessert, it was fresh and well made *raspberry cheesecake: this was creamy and had a nice tang Overall great experience, and really sweet as it was my husbands bday in a few days and they brought out a scoop of ice cream and sang happy birthday! I would recommend this spot - truly enjoyed my experience here!

Unimpressed, I love locanda Ravello in Danville and my first time here was disappointing. I didn't like any of the food and we got a lot.

This is a nice and cozy place. It can be loud though. Great wine selection. Full bar. The service was amazing, but the food wasn't as great as I had hoped. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't amazing. I'll be back though. Hopefully it was just an off day.

Very cute Italian restaurant. I had chicken pita sandwich with side Caesar salad. Very filling! I enjoyed the salad the most. Friendly staff and always checking in.

** DRINKS ONLY ** Martini Monday... My friend and I decided to end 2024 with a martini lunch in Pleasanton, specifically an espresso martini lunch. We checked out the Yelp reviews to narrow down our choices to three spots: Amalfi; Elia; and, Lokanta. Almafi was our first stop. The interior is nicely decorated and the place had a nice lunch crowd. We grabbed two seats at the (very small) bar and were greeted quickly. Our drinks came out a couple minutes later. The presentation was solid. A portion of the rim is dipped in chocolate and then pistachio. A nice surprise if you aren't allergic to either (it didn't state those items on the menu). There were 3 espresso beans, the only acceptable amount. The presentation definitely got us excited before we even tried it. The taste was on point, absolutely delicious. They pulled a fresh shot of espresso and added some baileys, which is not a traditional espresso martini. The baileys added a nice level of sweetness without a strong baileys flavor. Verdict: While the chocolate & pistachio rimmed glass and the baileys were not what we expected, this was definitely our top pick for the day. We kept comparing the others to it and it hours later it was still our top pick. We'll be back for more, two rounds next time

Great food -- but the salt level is becoming unbearable One of the best Italian meals I've had outside of Italy. I've only ordered via DoorDash so far (three times), and I'm genuinely impressed by how well the food holds up even after a 30-minute delivery -- the textures are still excellent. However -- and this is becoming a deal breaker -- the food is consistently way too salty. Every time I order the eggplant parmigiana, a pizza, and a side pasta, both the pizza and the parm come in noticeably over-salted and the level seems to be going higher with each order. Please, LA team -- we love your food and want to keep ordering, but the salt level really needs to be dialed back. It's the only thing taking away from an otherwise fantastic experience.

I don't care much for this place, my daughters sandwich was delivered to another table and that patron picked a piece up, the waiter quickly ran up and said they were sorry but they had given the wrong sandwich to her, then I watched the waiters run that plate back, and then few minutes later, here it comes out to our table. I am sorry but the other patron picked up half the sandwich, it should have never been brought back to our table. Just that alone, made me dislike this place. Prior to the sandwich situation, we had the calamari plate, but unfortunately it came out soggy so not that good. The decor was nice, plus for them.

My friend and I had a reservation, but I got there first and was kind of lost. A bunch of staff were standing around by the entrance outside so I advised them of my reservation. They said I need to let someone else know.....Okay...... THEN WHO? There's a group of 4 staff standing about.... why not direct me or help me? But okay, whatever. I finally checked in and got seated as my friend arrived. I won't bother with a reservation if I were to come back, as there was like 2 other parties dining inside. It's cute. Our server was very kind but we both had a hard time understanding her unfortunately. Honestly, the food was pretty pricey for what it is. I know it's the area as well, but I know there's better for a fairer price.

It was easy to make an appointment. Great food! Good service. Nice ambiance and good for groups.

It wasn't a bad pick, but I wasn't too impressed with it either. Loved the arancini, no complaints. I'm a fan of ravioli, and I don't think I enjoyed it as much. The quantity felt less (comparing with a restaurant on the same street and similar prices), but was hoping a great taste would compensate for it. I wasn't quite happy. The drink was a little too strong on lemon. The suggestion of Fettuccine crab was good. Enjoyed that one. So left with mixed feelings to be honest.

I met an ex-coworker at Locanda, bc DT Pleasanton was centrally located to both of us: I'm glad I did. They serve authentic Italian cuisine, and a number of the staff are from Italy. We shared arancini (not pictured), polpette, polpi and pizza. First of all, the arancini were GBD and nice sized. Secondarily, the meatballs were rich from the good quality meat and savory sauce. Thirdly, the octopus was tender and presented on a bright plate. Lastly, the pizza had nicely seasoned sausage, and a great char on the crust. Regarding the ambiance, there are tables inside and out. Locanda is very busy, esp on a Sat night @ 7 pm. There were a number of large parties, but they have plenty of tables of 2 & 4. I arrived early, and sat at the small bar. Tommaso took excellent care of me until Manuel, our waiter took over. Manuel hails fr Napoli, and we had a quick chat over Napoli pizza, and the rumor that the best pick pockets in the world come fr Napoli - LOL. Manuel recommended the excellent Brunello we had to accompany our light meal. I'm glad Locanda came highly recommended, and I was able to have a taste of real Italy in the East Bay. I hope to return here soon.

It wasn't what I expected. The service was attentive, though almost to the point of being overbearing. The restaurant itself is nice, but the atmosphere was overwhelmed by loud nearby tables. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. The chicken was meh, and the sauce lacked flavor. Given the reviews, I had high hopes, but both my date and I left disappointed.

Amazing service! Prompt! Friendly! Amazing ambiance! Amazing fresh ingredients! Great drinks! Wow! So glad we walked in and lucked out on a table. The food took a handful of minutes, but it's because it was so fresh! Very worth the wait.

Just came back from Locanda Amalfi for lunch with my husband and my granddaughter and amazing like always. The atmosphere is wonderful. We enjoy the people who work there. They are very friendly and always wanting to help and give you whatever you need. The pizza is amazing. They're real Italian pizza not that fake American stuff the real good stuff And also the Bolognese sauce is amazing. My granddaughter has to have it every time we go. The best pizza in the Bay Area for sure. Service is fantastic, good social spot in the central downtown of Pleasanton.

Locanda Amalfi is a gem of an Italian restaurant. The space is bright, open, and beautifully designed both inside and out. There are no booths, just tables, but the layout still felt inviting. We arrived to a mostly empty dining room and left with it completely full--clearly a popular spot. A lovely surprise was seeing non-alcoholic Prosecco on the menu--rare and much appreciated. We started with the arancini and focaccina bread which came with pesto--the arancini was the standout: cheesy, rich, and served with a sauce so good we dipped our focaccia in it too. For mains, the gnocchi tartufo with black truffle cream sauce was a favorite. I added Italian sausage, which complemented the dish beautifully. The gnocchi was fresh and perfectly cooked. We also loved the panzarotti al porcini with sage cream sauce (a must for sage lovers) and shared a classic margherita pizza that was simple, balanced, and cooked just right. We ended with two desserts: a cannoli and a chocolate cake, both solid finishes to a delicious meal. But what really elevated our experience was the outstanding service. Our water glasses were never empty. Attentive, kind, and seamless--truly some of the best service I've had in a while. The only downside came as the space filled up. The noise level climbed, and it became hard to hear one another. Combined with a rise in temperature, the environment got a bit overstimulating by the end, which made us wrap up sooner than we wanted. Still, the food and service were both 5/5. I'd absolutely return--maybe just a bit earlier next time--for another round of that unforgettable gnocchi and arancini.

Went for lunch with a friend. The place had a nice vibe, and you could choose to sit indoors or outside. But the tables and plates could've been cleaner, and there weren't that many food options. The food tasted pretty good, and the staff were friendly overall. Only thing was they kept checking if we were done eating -- kinda felt like they wanted us to leave. We were just trying to chill, not in any rush!

Found this gem the other night while walking in downtown Pleasanton. Such a cozy vibe my mom and I decided to sit outside. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in to the moment we left it was super busy, but we were still served with great service! We started with the beet arugula salad and then also got the margarita, pizza and the spicy vodka pasta. Everything was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning!!

We have ordered several pizzas from them as we like their style and quality ingredients. Unfortunately we always end up having to heat the pizza as it is never warm, and the pizzas are never cut, but we do think they make the best pizza in the area.

I am a local Pleasanton resident and don't want to talk negatively about any local business. But in this case, I have been truly disappointed the past two times dining at Locanda Amalfi. Our waiter was very personable and attentive... But the food quality was "okay" at best. Prices for portion size and quality do not add up. There are several places down the street who provide true value for the dollar spent. Then there are surcharge fees which make no sense. Again, I am a proud Pleasanton resident and hate doing this, but I would highly advise several other Italian restaurants just down the street over Locanda Amalfi.

This is such a cute Italian restaurant! It's located in the heart of downtown Pleasanton and parking wasn't too bad since I came on a weeknight. I walked in with another friend and were seated immediately. There are both outdoor and indoor options. We ordered the foaccaia bread, fritto misoi, and gnocchi tartufo. The gnocchi and truffle creamwas delicious and I wanted to clean up the whole plate, sauce and all, but the portion was so big that I was able to take some home. Service was good and the waiter frequently checked in on us throughout the night. Overall this is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food and I would definitely come back!
