The Most Original MICHELIN Guide Restaurants Around the World

"Often images portray Ibla—the picturesque historic center of Ragusa—from above, but at One MICHELIN Star Locanda Don Serafino you will instead feel as if you are entering from below. The restaurant's room is carved within a cave dug at the foothills on which the town is built. However, don't expect a rustic setting: service and cover are elegant, the atmosphere romantic, and the cuisine is among the most exciting on the island." - The MICHELIN Guide

This room was impeccable and so original! service at check-in was charming, and the included breakfast was delicious and refined. Bed and linens are super confortable. Roomy washroom, all the required amenities and more to have a memorable stay - not hotel can compare to this uniqueness!

We enjoyed our stay in the cave room. The bathroom was very wet but the dehumidifier kept the bedroom dry and comfortable. The location was perfect. The valet service meant that parking was never an issue. Best of all was the staff - from the front desk to the breakfast room to the parking, everyone was very accommodating and welcoming!

Service was exceptional. Rooms were nice and cozy with tea and water in the rooms. Every employee we encountered couldn't do enough for us. A big shout out to Giuseppe at the front desk for recommending restaurants, arranging reservations and even booking our driver to take us to our ferry crossing on the coast! I only gave 4 stars for the location because it is somewhat difficult to get to by car or on foot from the downtown area. I would highly recommend this charming hotel and would stay here again!

Very cool little hotel on a narrow street in the old town of Ragusa Ibla. Great location & loads of character within these stone walls. Our room was a bit quirky as is common with hotels built into medieval buildings but it's still an elegant accommodation. Very comfortable, very quiet hotel with a great young staff. Breakfast is served in a room just a few steps around the corner from the lobby. Cars are parked by their valet in an unseen location. Their restaurant is on the other side of the hill. We had an excellent dinner here. The room is fantastic with the service you would expect.

Friendly and helpful staff who looked after us very well. This hotel is very central in Ragusa Ibla. Everything is within walking distance. They have a valet service for your hire car as parking is tricky so this worked very well. The room was very comfortable (Junior suite), though quite small, but everything in this town is small as it is medieval, but it all adds to the charm. Breakfast is very good and the staff there are very nice too. |There is a restaurant which is a 10 minute walk away. It mainly serves up tasting menus, but the staff are also happy to recommend very good restaurants serving traditional Sicilian cuisine.|You can get to nearby Modica by taxi (25 mins) or bus and they can arrange. We thought that Ragusa was the better and prettier place to stay.|We highly recommend this hotel.

The locanda is located in a typical tiny street of Ragusa Ibla. We called the hotel as we entered Ibla and they immediately sent someone to meet us. They unloaded the luggage and parked the car. What I loved is the historical aspect of the place. Each room is different. We stayed in two gorgeous rooms with lovely views . The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable. The complimentary snacks and water were a nice touch. The staff could not do enough for us. Giuseppe at the concierge desk was very helpful and spoke perfect English. We were transported in time at this gorgeous little gem and the city of Ibla

The hotel and its associated restaurant represent a high level of passion and investment by its owner. This is not a hotel for anyone with any accessibility issues.||Our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was adequate in their cheery breakfast room. Wi-Fi was rather slow in our room. Front desk experience was good.||We traveled by car and the lack of parking in Ragusa’s warren of tiny narrow streets means that the highest level of service is provided by the valet. He has to move luggage quickly and efficiently up and down streets and narrow staircases and then find a place for the car. Likewise on departure. Kudos to these unsung heroes at Don Serafino. ||A very cool boutique hotel experience.

We stayed for only two nights but experienced three different rooms. We booked one of the Cave experience rooms but it did not work for us. The bathroom flooded and it was not pleasant. I do not recommend this path though we loved the hotel. The management was very willing to work with us and find different rooms, but we ended up in room number one on the first night and number 10 on the second night. Both were really great. The vibe of the rooms is modern chic in stone and if you end up in room one or ten I think you will love the vibe. The hotel is not really one building but a number of places spread out on both sides of the tiny street. We liked the breakfast room which was small and the ladies serving did a great job. we ate at the restaurant one night which was a treat though I wish I had dressed up for the occasion. The second night we had pizza and beer at the nearby terrazzo restaurant terrace which has a monster view and cost just 30 euros for dinner. we paid ten times that at the hotel’s restaurant. One thing to mention is that the hotel is on a narrow street so its not possible to stop in front when checking in. the hotel sent us some instructions as to where to stop and wait to be greeted. worked out well. We stayed here as part of a two week grand tour of sicily that included some much more elegant hotels, but don Serafino was one of my favorite places in sicily.
