Sa Corte

"Local gastronomic traditions are demonstrated at their best in this rustic restaurant, which serves delicious pasta, excellent meat and fragrant Sardinian wines. Our favourite dishes include the goat kid with artichokes and the almond and flower petal desserts." - Michelin Inspector

This is a nice B and B. Pretty good value. We booked this place because of the the restaurant. Well kept, clean and parking out front. The location is great for driving nearby but not much within walking distance. There is a cafe next door, where you can watch sunset or have a drink before dinner. The room itself is fairly typical, great AC, mini fridge, small shower and standard bathroom. Breakfast was ok, fairly basic but think standard in Sardinia.

The lady who runs the place was lovely, the garden and backyard is really beautiful and well designed. However, unfortunately the room was a bit dated with poor maintenance. Air condition was covered by dust as well as hair dryer. Bits of pieces were broken and not repaired. Breakfast was very basic. We went to this place couple of years ago and we enjoyed our stay, that’s why we decided to go back again; but unfortunately the experience was not the same this time.

We had problems finding this property . It is on the main road and not in the old town. The name 'Sa Corte' is written on the high walls surrounding the property which is quite hard to find in the dark. The gardens are very nice. There is no lift. There is air conditioning. The room was very clean and traditionally furnished. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean but the shower curtain did not fit and water flooded the bathroom floor when we used the shower. There was no evening meal menu and we had several courses of traditional Sardinian food. The ravioli was exceptional. Cheese was served as a vegetarian alternative to meat. At breakfast the coffee was very good but the buffet was quite limited . Brits don't usually eat cake for breakfast.

You can enjoy all the best that Sardinia offers by staying in this hotel. Situated in the fascinating area of Barbagia near the main town Nuoro, the first impression is immediately favourable - you are greeted by the small hotel's charming architecture and the glorious colours of the plants and flowers in the well-maintained garden. The dining area has stone features that capture the area's landscape and displays countless examples of local arts and crafts, including the prize-winning oil produced in the local town Oliena. The local food is first-class, prepared by husband Giacomo and served by his wife Giovanna who is an inexhaustible source of local knowledge and communicates their love of the area. The rooms have large bathrooms and are air conditioned with outstanding views of the surrounding countryside. Every aspect of the hotel shows a refined taste that is never over-stated, creating a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. We shall definitely return.

We stayed here on recommendation of another family member. What a lovely place, we arrived around 2.30pm when lunch is usually over, but the owners (who are also do the serving and cooking) accommodated us, thank goodness, as I think this food has been some of the best I have ever tasted in Sardinia. There was no menu, basically, we were given whatever had been cooked that day. What a refreshing change. All the dishes were local based and exceeded all expectations. So much so that we booked for dinner the day after (we'd already decided on pizza that night). The dinner again, was local fare as was the wine, sweets and "digestif's" which kept coming....||||Regarding the hotel...the rooms were very clean, comfortable, a good size and had Sardinian linens which personalise the rooms. The hotel is set in a quiet part of town and a car is most definitely needed, but means rooms are really quiet.||||The best part though were the owners, they really couldn't be more helpful or friendly. I have forgotten their names now as it's 6 month since I was there, but they went out of their way to help, advise and accommodate us. Their business is their passion and it shows....luckily for us.

The location is perfect for travelling around in the best wine area of Sardinia and not far from the highest mountain at Sardinia, the owner of the b&b is very helpful about wine tasting places and recommendations. Fantastic dinners. The only thing we can complain about is, parking at the street, the bed was little soft for us and the breakfast vas of the Italian style, little bit to sweet in oure opinion.

I've been to several accommodation facilities in Sardinia and this is definitely the best accommodation in Oliena. The location is excellent, you can admire the mountain of Supramonte, take a trip to Tiscali, you're a few miles from Ortobene and only half an hour from the Gulf of Orosei. Sa Corte is a welcoming house and the cuisine of Giacomo is simply a dream, book a dinner, it's worth it. The rooms are very comfortable and everything is very tastefully furnished and in accordance with the traditions of Sardinia, you certainly cannot overlook Giovanna's admirable decorations in the hall and in the dining room, she'll serve you delicious homemade jams for breakfast.||||Sa Corte offers an experience to remember, for sure.
