Smith Teamaker Is Giving Away Free Tea All Week | Eater Portland

"After leasing its taproom space to neighbor Tamale Boy, the experimental nano-brewery Labrewatory will continue to brew beer even though the main taproom is no longer in their hands; the brewery is known for collaborations with other breweries, local restaurants and cafes, and for popping up at food carts and restaurants to sell beer during the pandemic." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Google
Great tasting beer, fantastic environment, and friendly staff. We had the cream ale and the chili beer and it was so good we got a second round and traded beers. There's pinball and a lot of places to sit including two outdoor areas. We will definitely be back

Elizabeth T.

Google
Amazing selection of beer. Alex and Tara are amazing when it’s hopping (and when it’s not). Great spot to stop in for a brew, trivia, live music, darts, and games. Their pinball tourney is amazing. #beer #pinball #craftbeer #littleton #colorado @locavorebeerworks #drinklocal

Google
Nice taproom here despite being in a strip mall. Good crowd here when we went on a Monday evening. First beer I had was off cask which I was excited about, but it had a couple obvious off-flavors that left me really disappointed. Tried a couple others though, which were both very drinkable. Service was fine. Nice outdoor area. No food while I was there but apparently they have food trucks some nights. Overall decent little spot that I'll check out again if I'm in the area.

Liz W.

Google
Locavore has tasty beers, friendly staff, and a relaxed environment. We love going there to grab some bbq from Brad’s Pitt to go with a pint and a sourdough loaf to take home.

Ryan R.

Google
Locavore has a great atmosphere. It is kind of hidden within a strip mall but do not let that deter you. They have an excellent beer selection and a full menu provided by a nearby restaurant. The food was excellent and served promptly. There is a beer garden in the back and outside seating in the front. If you're in the area or you're looking for a new brewery to check out, it's worth a visit.

Google
Feel like this place flies under the radar - great beers, food available from the bbq joint next door. Friendly staff. Great outdoor area.

Tyler P.

Google
Solid beer and a great local spot with friendly staff every time. Always enjoy coming here to work and close out a Thursday or Friday. Big space with plenty of tables.

Kevin M.

Google
Locavore Beer Works is by far one of our favorite breweries to visit. They have a wide variety of beers on tap and rotate their selections often. Locavore also has Brad's BBQ Pit on site providing some pretty awesome BBQ. They have food trucks from time to time. They are dog friendly as well. The Locavore staff is awesome, and their customer service is spot on - Matt, aka "Sal Vulcano", Karen, and the rest of the Brewtender crew, ROCK! Cheers! 🍻 If you're looking for a neighborhood brewery with good beer, fun atmosphere, delicious food, and great staff, then Locavore is the place for you.

Yelp
Good brewery, decent BBQ next door, nice place to sit. We both found a beer that was to our liking, for me a milk stout, my wife got something a little more summery. Staff helped guide us well, and got us a beer we both enjoyed. The patio is nice! They have done a good job of cultivating their Hops Vines to create a nice oasis. Not to mention the back area which also looked nice, plenty of seating inside as well including a pinball area. This is an easy hang, with things to do for a variety of people and beer drinkers.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place and all of the community events they put on. I love how inclusive and family friendly this place is. Brads BBQ next door is such a nice place to order from and enjoy a beer from here. I do wish there were more non alcoholic tap options as i personally don't drink alcohol, but we still find this place to be such a great spot to hang out and enjoy pinball. we also love the homemade bread and honey!

Yelp
Went on 8/31/24. First time here in many years. They have expanded so much! It is great to see. So many beers on tap. They bottle and can their beer too. Decent size patios in front and out back. Pinball machines. A couple of televisions. Bartenders are always friendly. Tried a good variety of their beer. All was really good. Watermelon wheat, lime Kolsch, honey orange cream ale, hazy ipa, session ipa, quad and Belgian strong. All these beers were great! Then got a saison to go, to drink at a later time. Atmosphere is great. I definitely recommend this brewery to all! Cheers!

Yelp
I've been with friends and while I know it's a brewery, it would be nice if they offered more nonalcoholic beverages for those who are designated drivers or just don't drink. Also, more food items would also be great. Service was okay. Atmosphere was laid back, and not super comfortable. It's a nice spot to go because they aren't crazy busy.

Yelp
Consistently excellent beers. Good variety and a great patio. Don't let shopping center location scare you away! The pairing with "Brad's Pit BBQ" is and excellent addition!!!
google avatar

Glen C.

Yelp
The creativity and execution of their beer menu is exceptional, particularly for the suburbs. Most brewpubs are pretty IPA focused these days and these guys offer much more variety. Great vibe too.
google avatar

Lilly A.

Yelp
We love a kid friendly brewery... This place is great. Second time here and I caught them while Brad's Pitt BBQ was still open. They really did amazing with the remodel. I first came when it was still under construction. You can order your BBQ and they bring it over next door. And the BBQ is actually good ***10/10 highly recommend from your local transplant from TX*** As for the service - we love samples & they definitely don't hold back until they get it right. Jenn's recommendations where all pretty amazing but I ended getting the Raspberry sour (red/pink drink) and I wanted something strong so she brought me a Belgian to try. All in all - I am very happy and this was a great way to bring in the weekend.

Kristin H.

Yelp
Great beer and amazing staff. The ambiance is always comfortable , very clean, and the fact they let dogs in is an added bonus!

Alexander K.

Yelp
Awesome beer menu! All year round this place makes sure to have something for everyone. They always have a good selection and also keep a small selection of na options available! Servers are exactly what you want from a local brewery, helpful, personable, and always friendly! Great space for after work get together as and anyone who is up for pin ball. Couldn't recommend this place more!

Yelp
When your Dad's birthday falls on Cinco de Mayo, you celebrate big. With COVID 19, this year was the exception to the rule. Still wanting to celebrate somehow during this strange time, my sister and I opted to have a "beer tasting" (at a distance of course!) in the backyard. Locavore was the brewery of choice - mainly because they offer reasonably sized crowler options for a reasonable price, and also because Dad had yet to sample their goodness. ++ Ordering online is simple. Each beer is listed on the website with details describing the style, flavor and color, which made it easy to narrow down our choices. Once selected, I was able to quickly pay ahead of time and my order was delivered curbside upon arrival! ++ We opted to sample 6 different styles of beer - creating our own flight. We started with the My Bock, their newly created golden lager, which was full bodied and a gorgeous color, then moved to the Sugar Magnolia, their take on Blue Moon - both of which Dad loved. Next up, Das Litre - a rich Oktoberfest style beer, followed by their Irish Red. Both my husband and Dad loved the darker beers, while Mom and my sister enjoyed the lighter offerings. My personal favorite were the last ones we sampled - the 5th, a tasty Pale Ale, followed by the Lilly Hammer IPA - which featured the perfect amount of hops and was oh, so delicious. ++Prices range depending on beer style, but start around $6 for 22oz, which provided just the right amount for the 5 of us! 6 packs and growlers are available for purchase and/or exchange through their program too! Even though it's been a hot minute since I have been back to Locavore and can safely say, I still dig this spot. What better way to toast to another year older and wiser!

Yelp
This spot was just what we were looking for today. Needed somewhere we could bring the pup inside in case it was raining. We enjoyed the beer (blackberry wheat was my favorite) and it was a nice open space with enough parking. Once you're there it doesn't feel like you're in the middle of a shopping plaza. We enjoyed the patio and got takeout from the sushi place a couple doors down (which was also very good by the way). Also, the staff was very friendly :) We'd definitely come back!

Marsh D.

Yelp
Amber beer! Two patios - check out back garden, shaded and greenery. Good service, clean, chill place. And multiple postings regarding bad parenting - you may be asked to leave (with your kids) if kids acting badly. Adult beverages in adult setting. So nice. And good music streaming. And good microbrews selection.

Yelp
Continuing the experience of trying out breweries that came along after living in Colorado. Locavore being the latest I'm posting a review for was a brewery I liked pretty well! The Backberry Belgian Wit was the first of the three beers we had. It also, unfortunately was the one I liked least. It was just a bit too sweet and more often than not(there are exceptions of course) I lean towards desiring citrus in my wit beers over berry oriented ones. But after that thing started turning around! My second beer was my favorite one of the three. This was the green chile pale ale the Heisenberg. Nice chile flavor with just a touch of peppered heat. In my younger days I loved the flaming hot chile beers that would make your mouth really burn but now getting something tamer is what I prefer making this chile pale ale a perfect fit! Our final beer was the Nut Brown Ale. Oh, I do love the nut beers and this was a very good one! With hazelnut features this was a very fine beer to kick back, relax and have a conversation regarding it... of course that's where my conversation drifted was over the tasty beers with Steve!

Yelp
We tried this brewery for the 2nd time, and liked the beer. I tried a flight. I tried the blackberry,Limelight,Japanese, sugar magnolia wit, split and peal. My least favorite was the peal. My favorite was the blackberry. You could really taste the blackberry flavor. It is close to our house and they had many beers I liked! Will definitely return!

Yelp
Superb beer selection and great bbq. food. Great Service! They even have games to play.

Hannah B.

Yelp
We LOVE this place!! Everyone working there has been SO kind and helpful. They've got a wide selection of craft beers and some NA options and seltzers. They don't have a kitchen so you can bring your own food and have ordering from a BBQ next door, which is also delicious and quick. The whole atmosphere is so fun and chill- great place to watch football and they've got pinball, some games, and a beautiful outdoor area. New favorite spot for sure!

Ron L.

Yelp
Really cool brewery with a huge selection on tap. Service is outstanding; crew is on top of it. The bbq was decent but the interaction of the BBQ place and Locavore is a bit awkward (who do you ask for more sauce or napkins, who cleans up, who does the tip go to, etc.). The pinball machines put this place over the top. Top of the line, new pins kept in great working condition. So much fun. I wish they had a coin/dollar changer so we didn't have to keep bothering the crew for change. The place feels brand new and has a lot of space, so it can host a lot of guests withoit feeling overcrowded. Overall, very impressive. Will travel back to do it again from 20 miles away!

Yelp
Pretty good brewery in Littleton that I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon with some friends after a short hike in Deer Creek Canyon. It was in a shopping center so the outdoor patio was not as inviting but they had great beers and a BBQ place next door for food options. I wish they had more snack options at the brewery besides the hot pretzel. Overall good option for Littleton that I would not go far out of my way for. Easy parking

Brittany R.

Yelp
Our go to spot! Great atmosphere and delicious beer. We love that it is family (kid) and dog friendly!

Sarah M.

Yelp
Great place! Excellent Pinball! awesome beer and service. Definitely feels like family here

Brandon B.

Yelp
Straight up assholes. We called ahead to make sure dogs are allowed. Our friends were out back where apparently dogs aren't allowed. Dog are allowed in the front, inside, but not in their Biergarten in the back (outside). Stupid rule but we complied, however our friends were already out there. I went to talk to them (with the dog) for a second and the bartender rudely came out and yelled out me. Didn't understand and didn't care. Beer is mediocre. Service is horrible. Location sucks. There are so many better options out there for beer.

Last C.

Yelp
Nice place to have a good beer. Good selection. Two nice outside sitting areas. They even have pinball.

Doug R.

Yelp
I love this brewery for many reasons. They always have more than two dozen beers on tap, many of which are high alcohol (above 8% abv), they have amazing BBQ from their neighbors (Brad's Pitt BBQ), and the ambiance and staff are wonderful. They also have the best imperial Porter I've ever tasted: Black Pearl 3X3 @ 15.7% with no alcohol burn, just amazing flavor from the beer along with 3 months each in 3 different barrels of local craft whiskey.
google avatar

Emma H.

Yelp
Huge space and it's dog friendly! All of the random games are such a fun touch. Wide variety of yummy beers on tap and the staff is always friendly! They also keep non-alcoholic beers as an option to make it easy for everyone to find something they enjoy!

Amy A.

Yelp
This is a fun local brewery, as you come in you can just pick a spot to drink. Service is pretty fast .They have an option of bar foods. This spot is dog friendly, they can come on in . It's pretty nice they have to separate bars . They have a small swag shop and a spot to play darts and 5 pinball machines to play. It's a pretty cool spot , just to drink and chill.

Yelp
I've tried a few brews from Locavore over the years, but had yet to make my way to the source; until now! PROs: ++ The space is large with tons of different seating styles to cater to any group size or a solo brew-venture! ++ There's a great patio for those sunny Colorado days! ++ The brews are fantastic! During my visit I opted for a flight to try a variety of their offerings (The Dude, Bloch's Bounty Stout, Blackberry Betty, Summertide, Jolly Farmer, and Fifi) and loved them all! ++ Locavore is located in a strip mall, so there's plenty of parking! So bring all you friends!! CONs: -- Like most breweries they don't serve food. Bummer! They do have a set-up with a restaurant nearby to order at a kiosk in the brewery and they will deliver! Yay! -- The beertenders there during our visit wasn't very attentive. Not that we needed to be doted on, but a "hey, how are the beers" every once in a while is nice. Oh well, perhaps it was an off day. The cons really aren't that bad - I'll gladly come back to check out more of the beer offerings at Locavore Beer Works!
google avatar

Kayley K.

Yelp
Good beer and a nice variety of non alcoholic drinks. The service was quick despite the amount of people on the brewery.
google avatar

Nancy K.

Yelp
This might just be our new go-to brewery! It has a very relaxing atmosphere. We came because we have been a long time Brad's Pitt BBQ fan but we will be coming back because of the beer! Well, AND the BBQ, obviously. I would bring my kids, my dog (they are "friendly dog friendly"), board game etc. This is a place for all of that. I can't wait to come back in the summer and sit outside by the fire. This place is up there with Breckenridge Brewery which is our favorite place. Probably more variety of beer and better pricing here as well, so we will be back for sure! The logo is also super cute, I bought a cup to take home! Not that it is everyone's cup of tea but Enchanted Ground which is a coffee shop for gamers is just down the street, you can go sober up there as well. Perfect find!
google avatar

Dana B.

Yelp
This place is great. There are tons of games to play everywhere, and there are darts, too. The staff is SUPER friendly as well. The beers are delicious. My friend's car was broken into here and stuff was stolen while we were inside ... make sure you park closer to the buildings under a street light - he was parked on the outskirts of the parking lot. We still go back despite the break-in.
google avatar

Keegan H.

Yelp
One of my favorite breweries in Denver metro area. Funny because it's in Littleton but this place is great. Definitely very family and dog friendly and the beers are pretty good too, lots of rotating taps so each time I've been there's something new to try. Their hazy and pale ale are both great and highly recommend! Everything is pretty reasonably priced too!
google avatar

Zane M.

Yelp
Solid experience. I had a flight of 6 beers . I liked 5 out of 6, so pretty good! Terra was my bartender, she knows her beer and is fun to talk to.
google avatar

Nicole W.

Yelp
Great flavorful beer! The Lil Raspberry Sour and Blackberry Betty are my go to but I've tried quite a few and have never been disappointed! Great ambiance whether you're in the tap room, out front by the fire pit or out back in the beer garden.
google avatar

Tyler E.

Yelp
The beer was pretty good and the slated pretzel made for a great treat. I tried the German style ales and they did not disappoint!
google avatar

Valerie B.

Yelp
The atmosphere is what makes this an awesome place! Great employees, low-key surroundings. Just recently expanded and now have darts and pinball! My husband LOVES their beer so much that our home bar currently has a keg of 2-Fingers on tap. I'm gluten free so enjoy the canned Holidaily beers they serve. Having Brad's Pit BBQ next door and the collaboration between the 2 businesses is awesome! I use the Spotlight n app and am saving my points to get myself a nice beanie, I hope! Already have a ball cap!
google avatar

Kristin M.

Yelp
This place is great! Trying to think of one reason to give 4 stars instead of 5 but I can't think of any. BEER! So many great beers. Note: if you find a special release that you love, bring home a crowler because there is no guarantee that it will be around in a week or two. Cherry lambic and barrel aged Saison are two favorites, but already sold out (May -18). SERVICE! It is very much appreciated that they have counter AND TABLE service. Sometimes I don't want to stand in line for another beer, especially while playing one of their fun board games! GAMES! Need I say more? DOG FRIENDLY! So many furry friends to say hi to! FOOD! Food provided by Roberts Deli/catering. Easy ordering from a self-serve kiosk. Pick a table number and food is brought out to you. See their yelp page for food reviews. PATIO! 5 or so tables outside plus ample seating inside. On nice days the large doors are open so seating inside is just as nice. GREEN SPACE! Secret space out back, shhh. Though no dogs allowed out there (which I happen to appreciate because then I won't be worried about taking my shoes off and enjoying the grass). SWAG! They have a fun swag shop. Hats, tees and more! Plus tasty jerkey and popcorn for purchase. LOCATION! Conveniently located in Littleton. Large parking lot.
google avatar

Hector B.

Yelp
Overall a wonderful beer spot on anyone's list! Solid winning beers on tap. Wonderful service and positive vibe. I enjoy each visit and will continue to do so
google avatar

Jake B.

Yelp
Really cool place indoor and patio seating. Wide selection of draft beer. Their website menu is really great! Staff was really great. Spilled my 1st round like a child. They got me fixed up with a replacement, cleaned up and were able to poke fun at my toddler like abilities. Location is a little odd. Brewery strip mall setting. Good starter for the night
google avatar

Terry C.

Yelp
Ok. Actually to be fair the beer was very good. The service, however just wasn't. They treated us like we were inconveniencing them. Not what I hope for at a service establishment.
google avatar

Allison F.

Yelp
Locavore Beer Works is a very nice brewery. My husband and I stopped in for a flight and were really impressed with all six beers. The prices were decent, too. The guys working behind the bar were friendly and answered all our questions. They have a few board games to choose from if you're into that. They also have a cold filtered water machine to sober up once you're done imbibing. I'll keep this brewery on my radar next time I'm in Colorado.
google avatar

Rusty C.

Yelp
Something about a brewski and a BQ food truck just go hand in hand. I search for Independent breweries, looking for the next Ale, Sour or IPA. This place has IPAs which tinkle the palette; give them a try
google avatar

Charissa S.

Yelp
I love this place and the staff is very friendly and polite. This brewery is dog friendly and since COVID 19, they have opened the patio and added many tables. As for beet, my husband and I like the Blonde, Blueberry Lemon Wheat and Pilsner. Give this place a try!
google avatar

Renee W.

Yelp
We have been visiting Locavore for about 3 years now, as it os relatively close to where we live. Love their beers! Rotating options and I like that you can see the keg status as well. Nice patio to hang out on during warm days and super chill interior as well.
google avatar

Jen K.

Yelp
Cool outdoor area, great beer selection. Attentive staff. Will go back again, for sure!
google avatar

Katherine R L.

Yelp
Best beer. Best service. You can't go wrong stopping by here for a quick drink or staying all night. Amazing customer service-- the owners are great! Don't go check into Facebook when you get there, when you "follow" them, watch their Facebook number flip over on the old school number count above the bar. Stop by, start with the Sugar Magnolia, you won't regret it.
google avatar

Dustin D.

Yelp
FAVORITE. LITTLETON. BREWERY. Seriously, this place is amazing. I discovered this place years ago when we drove by and noticed a "craft beer" sign. Man did we discover a hidden treasure. All of their beers are amazing. You can tell the brew masters take their time and know what they're doing. I never get the impression that this place rushes out a beer....well at least one time...they released a Gosé which was horrible, don't think sours are their forté, but anything else is seriously tasty. I'll be back again and again. Thanks guys
google avatar

Jeffery L.

Yelp
An associate and I were in town just for the day. We had a little time to kill before our flight and wanted a place to work and have a beer without having to head all the way back into downtown. We ended up here based on a recommendation. First, the beer. We both had a flight and liked pretty much all the beers. There were a few standouts, but overall the wide variety was solid and delivered. We both liked the Sugar Magnolia the best and enjoyed a few pints of those the remainder of the afternoon. Second, the staff. Everyone was so damn nice. Didn't care that we were setting up shop for a few hours. They just let us work and filled our beers when we needed. It was greatly appreciated. Finally, the vibe. It's just a great family-friendly spot. All types of people. All ages. Some with kids. Some with dogs. Everyone seemed happy. Maybe it's all the good beers! I'm not sure if I'll be back in Denver anytime soon but if I am I will make sure to find my way back down to Littleton to see what they have brewing. You should as well.

Andrew R.

Yelp
The beer here is good, some even really good. I got the Belgian and the blackberry to take home. However, it falls short in a few ways. Let's start with the pros: -I liked all 3 beers I tried -they have Kettle Head popcorn -The main space looks nice and parking is easy Cons: -Pricing is weird. Examples: They charge $5 for a number of 8 oz pours. A 24 oz bottle to take home was $6, the glass of the same beer was $5. -My friend got food. He said it was good until he found a hair after he bit into a handful of fries. He chose not to say anything, so no comment on how they make things right. -Credit cards: I started a tab at the beginning, gave them my card, and they need my card again at the end. This is their standard process. -The waitress gave us a little attitude when we needed her to rerun the card to refund for the coupon we had. -I really don't like the menu. It's a flip book, and you can only see one beer at a time. See the photos for details. Overall, I'm glad I found some good beer to take home, but I don't think I'll be back.

Jodi M.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the products that they sell. They have like foods like pretzels and popcorn and such but the main food source for the brewery is the barbecue place next-door, which also has good food that they will deliver to your table at the brewery, you can sit inside or outside. Both are calming and inviting. This is well worth getting together with friends to have a beer and laugh and make a memory highly recommend it.

Yelp
Great, great beer!. Totally loved this Brewery. Every beer my friend and I tried was spot on. We tried Belgium styles, IPA's and some lighter styles. It was nice to be able to have a hot Bavarian pretzel with our beer. There is also a great BBQ caterer that serves food at the brewery. Loved the decor with whiskey barrels and hard wood.
