Lock 15 Brewing Company

First time I have ever been there. The food was amazing I had the cowboy burger! My friend got the lock 15 burger she loved it. We got a flight of beers to try, and I have to say I love that option. For dessert we did the sorbet trio and I'm telling you that peach was out of this world good served in a tiny frozen cast iron skillet. My friend tried the Evelyn's Spiced Cider Creme Brulee she said absolutely amazing 😍! Would definitely recommend, the Atmosphere was industrial but inviting. I can't wait to go back! Oh and our server I can't remember his name but he was amazing he was actually the bartender, as we were sitting at a high top table near the bar. He had extensive knowledge about the different beers and the food. It was all around a great experienceand meal!

The meatloaf sandwich was OK but not outstanding. Felt like it needed something - more seasoning, more flavor. I did not care for the in-house made chips- they looked burnt and again needed seasoning - not flavorful. However, I enjoyed my little beer flight and tasting a few samples. The beer was enjoyable but the food was just ok. Atmosphere and service was ok, just not sure if I would go again.

What an amazing place! Yesterday was my first visit, but will definitely not be my last. I had two different beers and both were wonderful, and my lunch of fish and chips was quite possibly the best I’ve ever had! Don’t pass up on this gem of a brewery and a restaurant!

Wife and I stopped while in town for a late lunch. Venue is in an industrial looking building shared with loft units. Parking fairly plentiful behind the building. Look for the patio and you will see a man door with a round sign above it for entry. Once inside, the atmosphere was cool with clear views of the bar, brewing area, and kitchen. The hostess sat us quickly and our server promptly checked in on us. We had a starter of crab egg rolls, shrimp & grits, and a burger w/fries. Crab egg roll was great, had a nice presentation, and the sauce was a nice bonus. My shrimp & grits were excellent with a little spice. My wife enjoyed her burger and the chips noting they were also enjoyable. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service were great. We would happily stop again when in the area.

It is a MUST! From the food and drinks, to the waiter. Love that they tied into the Akron history and local artist to make this place even more one of a kind! Truly loved everything about this place as a traveler coming to Akron for the first time!

We took The Lust Gentleman’s Club Promo team to Lock 15 last Saturday and had an awesome night with drinks and appetizers. We arrived with no reservation and they found seating for our party of 6 almost immediately. Our server Ray was top notch with great service and solid menu suggestions. We enjoy several specialty cocktails and 5 different apps all of which did not disappoint. Thank you for the great experience. We will be returning on another promo evening in the future!

We're riding the OTET and stayed at the courtyard Marriott. Lock 15 is a short walk from the hotel. The menu was interesting and offered a variety of options. Great beer selection too! Thai Chicken lettuce wraps were delicious I'm not vegetarian but had the Vegan cabbage rolls, the sauce was fantastic. Delicious! We also had the ribs with greens and cornbread. Nice wedges of cornbread. The mostrada sauce was delicious. The ribs were almost fantastic; however, too charred and about a third of it was inedible. Delicious but we must have had the last of the ribs. Atmosphere is good but loud when the place is full. We would definitely eat here again.

Came with a couple of friends during a weekend night, didn't have to wait at all for a table, service was fast and friendly. Their new menu was definitely interesting, the jalapeño grits were a stand out for us. Only thing we didn't really care for was the dressing on the Caesar salad, everything else was delicious though. Definitely would come back and try some more items from their new menu. Got two flights and thoroughly enjoyed their beer, the peach saison was heavenly.

Was in the area and decided to stop in, unfortunately I didn't get to drink beer as I was the driver but I had a little sip and it was damn good! The food was good, the pictures speak for themselves, great service and great food. Can't go wrong, wish it was closer to Columbus but next time I'm in the area I'll stop by again.

Stopped in before a concert at the Akron Civic Theater. I did some research about a week prior for a good place to eat and grab drinks before the show and came across Lock 15. I was able to make reservations and in the end, there were bar seats available when we arrived so we grabbed a seat there! Sampled a flight and ordered their smoked wings. The bartender suggested the Cajun wings with buffalo sauce. Great choice! Good kick and flavor was delicious. Enjoyed our flight as well. Surprising flavor we tried was a beer infused with Waffle Crisp cereal. It tasted just like the cereal! Had great service, the atmosphere was relaxing, and bathrooms clean.

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner and was glad we did. My wife got the udon noodle salad with chicken and had a great flavor. I recommend if you have any leftovers, to heat it up as it tasted a little better with some warmth. The fish and chips I had tasted great, only criticism I have is I think the oil was past its prime as the fish was a little overdone. The Belgian triple was amazing and reminded me of when I lived in Belgium

My wife and I stopped here for lunch while visiting friends in Cleveland. Nice atmosphere, excellent and friendly service. Very good food and beverages. Well priced. Convenient parking in their lot.

Everything was great but not one hint of Christmas decor! Come on at least something festive! Service was really good! Food was awesome too!

The place is super cute in an old warehouse. Easy to find, service was great. A big plus was being able to make reservations and having a kids menu. Had one of the best sours ever (cherry pineapple) and everyone's food was great. Very family oriented and a cool place all-around.

Not quite ready to be done for the day, I stopped in here and spent an hour or two with a beer and some wifi. It's a nice place and seating the bar area was comfortable. Service was slow to start but we got there and I was able to enjoy my beverage and set up with the laptop for a bit. Lots of beer options, I enjoyed The Grandfather Lager. Tasty. Our group of retirees met for dinner and drinks at Lock 15 and had a good experience. All of the beers we ordered had good taste, however, they were out of the two I wanted to try. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and was not disappointed. First, the amount of food was impressive. There was plenty of tender, flavorful shrimp and creamy perfectly cooked grits. They wee accompanied by chopped tomatoes, seasoning and sauce. Simply said, there was way too much of the accompanying tomatoes and sauce. The service was good and groups of six are automatically charged 20% which is fine. All in all we were happy we chose Lock 15 and will return.

It's rare to have a great restaurant and a good brewery! This is a great spot. The food is incredible and the beer is nice and strong.

Tried the charcuterie board and it was very good. Had a spritz drink also very tasty. Service was excellent. Good vibe

This is a great brewery. Great beer. Great food. Came here after a LONG ride on the tow path trail. I got a flight of beer. It came out in a little canal boat and I loved that. They have a very long list of their own beers with a lot of options. All four that I tried were great. I got a lock burger and fries, too. The fries were amazing and the burger was great. The patio had amazing vibes. I think part of it is made of the old lock wall? I'm a fan. The server was amazing and everything I ordered came out quick. Hit this place up on your next towpath ride in Akron.

During a cross country drive, we were on the last leg from SEA to Pennsylvania and were in dire need of a sit down, freshly cooked meal. We came across the highly positive reviews for Lock 15 and deemed it worthy enough to travel a bit off the beaten path and were so glad we did! We were greeted and seated right away on a busy Sunday night. Football was on all TVs. Service was friendly and the bartender recommended great in-house brews. Both dining and bar areas were busy, but clean and the vibe was still relaxing and provided a nice breather from the long drive. Definitely recommend, everything is amazing!

Food is always great. We had chicken lettuce wraps with a peanut curry sauce and they were delicious. Also had the shrimp and grits and that was great. It has a great atmosphere and we've had great service every time. Beer has been consistently good.

The service was on point. The place was set up quite well. You knew you were in a brewery and you could see the kitchen staff hard at work. It wasn't very loud but we went at an off time and you have a choice of indoor or out door seating. The food was really good. With the exception of the jalapeño grits. They should have been a bit creamier but they were on the dry side. The kids smash burger is huge but super tasty. We also had the chicken lettuce wraps with peanut sauce which was delicious. 4.5/5 stars.

Come here. The exotic influences and attention to detail will have you experience food that, to be honest, I don't expect to find when pulling off for a meal in Akron, Ohio. The Mulligatawny Soup will have me driving back here as long as it's on the menu. Our server was great, Kim. Food arrived quick and was at great of temps. I want to come back in the summer. The patio looks like the place to be on a warm night. The location itself hold a lot of history and adds to the overall experience. 10/10

Easy parking and good service. The rotating menu was limited but high quality. The sandwiches were very dry and while they had very good sauces they were extra. The sides were also lacking compared to the entrees

We attended an event in the area on a Friday night and stopped in afterwards for a late dinner. The place was kind of winding down when we arrived but it seemed to be family friendly and probably a little on the louder side earlier in the evening. I was excited to try some craft beer and the squad car quad did not disappoint! My partner originally ordered a brew that was described as having a "hint of smoke" that really tasted like drinking a bottle of liquid smoke... but once that was sent back he got something more palatable. We shared the chicken saltimbocca sandwich and tried fries along with our chips. It was really good! Maybe a little light on the sauces for that much meat but delicious. The food runner offered a delicious gorgonzola sauce for our fries when I asked for ranch for dipping, and even though it's not in the picture, it was a real highlight! We mostly enjoyed the meal even if service lagged a few times.

Do you like fish & chips?! This place will make it so you never go anywhere else for it ever again, it's that good!! Ya, sure they are a brewery, the beer is good, but did I mention the fish & chips?! in all seriousness the portions are huge, the remoulade the serve with it is bomb (order extra) and the coleslaw is so unique! For drink options, they also have NA choices available so everyone can find something they like. The service... it's pretty good. It could be a bit better. I don't think the servers we've had have ever been the friendliest, but they are all working hard and by no means rude. The ambiance is very open, and a bit loud. A pretty casual environment. Highly recommended giving it a try!

I found this place when on business travel. The draft beer options were many, as you can assume by the "Brewing Company" in their name. I ate off the appetizer menu and was impressed with my selections. Next time I visit, I will make it past the appetizer and onto the entree portion of the menu. I sat at the bar, since I was visiting alone and the bar staff was friendly, helpful, and amazing. I did not walk around inside, but the bar area was clean and appealing. The parking was difficult, but I found a spot.

This place is awesome - we came here for a business dinner and it definitely didn't disappoint. We had made a reservation for 20+ so they set us up with two long tables next to each other and assigned a few extremely friendly and efficient servers to our group, the service here was absolutely exceptional. We ordered lots of appetizers for both tables and all of them were delicious and came out quickly. I will say the Korean Wings were definitely my favorite and seemed to be the favorite of most in our group. I started out with the Christmas Ale without the brown-sugar coated rim it was served at the perfect temperature and a great choice I also decided to try a few other drafts which were equally satisfying. I chose the Pho for my entrée the broth was very rich and complex and paired with a large portion of duck meatballs and sliced smoky brisket along with tender rice noodles and a nice accompaniment of vegetables. Being the weather outside was in the low 30's and definitely something I am no longer used to this was perfect, after one taste it wouldn't matter what the weather is I'd order this again it is probably some of the best I've had...ever. This is a beautiful venue and they definitely can accommodate large groups, all the food was out of the kitchen fast and was delicious, the beers were outstanding and we couldn't have been more pleased with the service. I really hope we schedule future business dinners here, they really exceeded everyone's expectations...

Great beers and more than just bar food. The shandy and Irish Red were spot on. The smoked wings were great and I also had the white chicken chili which was really good on a cool evening. Btw, the also had some nice cocktails on the menu.

Great food always great service it is a half hour drive but well worth it. Inventive dishes always a different menu.

What a great place with unique food and beer. I had the shrimp and grits and it was amazing. I sampled a couple beers and had something for everyone. Our server was awesome and it was a great place to go on a random Tuesday night.

For a good microbrewery, they have an excellent food menu. Inside is cool and comfortable, and acoustics are reasonable for conversation. Huge tent outside, but it's set up against a stone wall, so no breeze can blow through, and the tents ceiling is fairly low, so outside noise is pretty loud. Impressive array of beers, including one that is 15.8% avg. They also feature an ample charcuterie plate that be split among a large party. But it's big enough to be more than enough for two to share.

Incredible food - cannot praise this place enough especially the chicken curry wraps and the salmon. The wine was good at the beer esp the ginger beer was amazing

Our server, Kim, was fantastic. When we told her this was our first time there, she offered details on several dishes. We felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. The food was unbelievably good! The salmon dish was unusual and hearty. And the fish and chips was the best I've had. Beer battered fish with a nice light fry, radish Cole slaw and delicious tartar sauce different from any other. I highly recommend. Great food and service, reasonably priced and plentiful and easy parking.

It's a cool place but the signage of where it's at is a little difficult to see. There's decent parking behind the building and in a separate lot as well 1 block up. Wait time wasn't bad for a Friday at Happy Hour times. We got a drink from the bar (average cost $10 a person) and then sat for food. Our waiter was great and funny. The food was decent as well but a little on the expensive side for what we ordered.

From out of town and wanting to stop at a brewery with food and we hit the jackpot. Lots of nice cocktails and of course beer. I got a flight and enjoyed everything in it- which included sours, holiday ales and stouts. My friends margarita was maybe a bit too much sour mix however. Our waitress was extremely friendly and gave lots of great suggestions about food. I have a gluten sensitivity and I am a vegetarian and my friend is completely gluten intolerant so we were happy to see lots of options for us on the menu. She got the Port Salut hamburger minus the bun with the jalapeño grits. The grits were spectacular. I got the vegan mushroom bulgogi which was just incredible, it was a huge plate of food I couldn't finish with lots of fresh mushrooms and a spicy sauce. I would definitely come back up to this brewery just to have dinner. It wasn't busy when we got there and later on it was packed, so I'm glad to see that people know that this place has great food and beer .

I ordered the white chicken chili and was very impressed. The oatmeal stout is one of my favorites. Love that this place is close to the tow path too. Great ambience, great service- overall an awesome experience.

After a long day of traveling on bumpy roads we were thrilled to find Lock 15!!! We entered a welcoming environment and were quickly given a table. There is an extensive list of craft beers. The gose, rye IPA and triple were all fantastic. Needing food, we quickly ordered and received the ceviche. It was a refreshing combination of rock shrimp, cucumber, watermelon, arugula accented with thinly sliced spicy red peppers. For entrees, I had to have the fish and chips as I didn't make it to my favorite WI supper club on our recent trip. This was by far, a step up. Freshly battered, crispy and hot fish topped a pile of fries with a incredible sauce and side of slaw. Not your average slaw either, I think it was kale - healthier than the usual slaw some places use as a afterthought, this was a star side item. Schweety, as he often does, went with the burger. Great brioche bun, fresh toppings, quality meat! For a side, he added the jalapeño grits. Definitely worth the up-charge! Thank you, Lock 15 for salvaging the day!

Pleasantly surprised by the food, while service was just okay. Took us a minute to figure out parking, it's along the side of building rather than the lot for the apartment. We sat outside under the large tent. Our waitress felt super out of it, taking a long period of time to bring out our food and check in later. We started with the cheese bread which was probably my favorite item. My husband ordered the wings which he also enjoyed and I ordered the mussels. The food was all excellent, but only had one round of beer because our waitress never came back.

This was a great brewery! Our waiter was amazing (thank you Kim). One of our party has food restrictions, Kim did a great job helping us navigating the menu. We all had great food and beer! Definitely returning!

An outstanding experience for our party of eight, all made even better by our server, Patty. She was so helpful guiding us through the beer menu with her expertise and samples (recommend the habanero IPA!). Blown away by the grilled octopus and squash appetizers, wings and pretzels were wonderful, especially the beer cheese. Truly an elevated dining experience yet in a casual, comfortable environment.

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was here since it's a brewery. I happened to be in the area and was hungry so I searched Yelp to find the best restaurant near me and Lock 15 came up. The menu looked diverse and upscale, but reasonably priced. The driveway is kind of hidden and the sign is small, but if you're using GPS, you'll know that it's coming up. It's also a gravel driveway with a few big holes that make for a bumpy entry. The restaurant is located inside what looks like an old factory turned brewery. You enter in what feels like the back of the building. There was a pretty large covered patio in the back that I imagine gets really full on nice days. I came in and went straight to the bar after being greeted by a friendly host. I sat there for a couple of minutes while I watched the only bartender serve a few patrons at high tops. There was a barback or server assistant who was behind the bar washing some glasses. She never greeted me or said that the bartender would be right with me, which as a server myself, I get, but it's also a little annoying. Customers want to be acknowledged even if they won't be helped right away. A few minutes after I placed my drink and food order, another gentleman sat next to me and was not greeted for at least 10 minutes. The bartender was getting pretty busy, but a simple greeting would have been nice. The guy leaned over and said he felt like he was invisible. The food made up for the initial lackluster greeting and the bartender was overall very nice, he was just busy, so I get it. I ordered the heirloom tomato caprese burrata salad and added steak. The salad was $16 and the added steak was $18. It felt a little pricey, but the steak entree on the menu was $34, and it was the same steak, so I guess it's fine. I also got an order of their homemade chips and gorgonzola dipping sauce. It was like a dill & gorgonzola blue cheese. Super flavorful and could be used on so many things. I got an extra side to take home with my remaining chips. The salad came with a ton of fresh tomatoes, a bed of arugula and a good sized ball of burrata. With the balsamic glaze, the salad tasted really good and fresh. I did add a little salt to my tomatoes, but that's just my preference. My steak was cooked perfectly medium, it was braised in a cabernet wine sauce and had perfect grill marks. I wouldn't say it was the most seasoned cut of meat, but an excellent cut of beef doesn't need much seasoning. I did add a little salt. The meal was a really good size, I took about half home and left very satisfied as well as excited to eat my leftovers. This was pretty much a perfect meal as far as the food goes. I really enjoyed every bite and I know that the chef puts a lot of love and care into each dish.

Very nice inside the menu is well put together. Staff was pleasant and helpful and the food was very good and fresh.

Had chicken sandwich, and a pumpkin beet-very good. Sat outside on very casual patio on nice day. Inside had strong Parmesan cheese smell, as has an open kitchen. This can make it loud inside with cooking noise and people talking so sound bounces. Our waiter, EJ, was great. Parking was fine on Friday at 4pm but can be very tight at busy times. All in all a positive experience.

Incredible food for a brewery. That's all I went there for. The service was top notch, they were all on top of their game. They have indoor and outdoor door seating, clean and with a great feel. The amount of food you get is perfect for the price. The salmon was full of flavour and the fried fish was so soft that it melts in your hand. If I had to be super picky, I think the salmon was a bit too saucy. And the fried fish should have been a bit more crispy.

Picked this place for a work dinner while in the area. Beautiful building with a chill outside space. A beaver walked by after we finished our meal since it is situated on a sort of nature preserve with tons of flora which was a 10/10 experience. Service was a bit slow but since they had a long walk inside to outside between the kitchen and our table I don't blame them, they were very kind and helpful when my colleague asked to cancel his food because the appetizers ( 2 x chicken wings & pretzel bites) were more than enough for him. Veggie burger was above average but my side salad (although lush and plentiful) had quite a lot of browned/spoiled greens in it which I know happens with spring mixes but I was bummed.

Changing the menu sucked but the food is really amazing here anyway. The service is awesome and the people friendly across the board. No matter when you show up, it's always comfortable and easy-going.

My husband is a beer enthusiast and he liked nothing he tried Our service was subpar at best. We felt like if they knew you then they were nice to you but if not, they ignore you Ambiance was bustling and crowded, so we may be in the minority with this review but it is a one and done for us

We've visited several times over the years. The space is great, but parking can be a bit frustrating. It can get loud in the dining room, also. But the biggest reason I've taken a star off would be that the food is inconsistent. And, while I like the changing menu, it's disappointing to go there with the hopes of getting something you've loved from a previous visit, only to have a menu with all new offerings.

Yummy!! We'll be back!! Can't wait to try something different next time. Waitress was very knowledgeable of everything!

In town for business and found this thru our hotel staff. Service was a touch slow as the floor was lacking in staff for the size of the number of guests. It wasn't a constant flow of folks coming in so was sort of surprised the hostess wasn't assisting the staff with food running. Took a bit of time for someone to take our order. Place as a laid back feel to it and was the right amount of noise in the place where you felt like your conversations with your table mates was private. I had the fish and chips which was perfectly flaky on the on the outside and inside the fish was moist as the meal should be. Bartenders made a very balanced Manhattan which considering the higher end Bourbon they carry I appreciated. All of us managed to find something on the menu that we enjoyed. Be aware that some of the menu items are what I would consider on the unique side of American Fusion Gastropub options.

The beer is always fresh and tastes great, and the food is next level... even if you're just looking for a spot to have dinner this is it!

Burger was excellent. Fish and chips were excellent. The fish was huge. Beer was also good. Service could've been a little more knowledgeable. For instance, our waitress could not explain what the special was. Very nice ambience inside and they also had a very nice patio outside, but was too hot to sit out there.

After an evening at a nearby Indie theater we decided to check out Lock 15 based on the reviews here on Yelp. While we weren't disappointed we weren't overly impressed either. The atmosphere and look of the place was really nice. We showed up mid week and were seated immediately upon on arrival. We didn't have a long wait for our meals and while the food was tasty it wasn't life changing. We both ordered burgers and fries. I'm a nut and love Heinz, they have a Cleveland based ketchup that's a little sweeter than I'd like. However the fries were good without it. It was a good place but not one I'd go out of my way to dine in again.

Had a great Sunday lunch at Lock 15! I enjoyed the Ohio Erie Mist, milkshake IPA- what a refreshing brew on a cold Ohio day. For lunch, the Italian focaccia sandwich was massive ( & so tasty!) I had to take 1/2 home. The accompanying house made chips and dip were also a good side choice. Service was prompt and friendly. We'll be back!

meals and drinks were very good, baked brie was not worth it for $18 only came with deep fried saltine crackers.
