The 19 Best Desserts In London - London - The Infatuation

"Doughnuts have always been a constant in our lives. Covered in chocolate, filled with cream, or even just those mini ones from Sainsbury’s. But the doughnuts at the Wandsworth outpost of this bakery are by far some of the best. They change on a regular basis, with flavours like passion fruit or tiramisu. But something you can find on most days is their excellent raspberry jam doughnut. The dough is perfectly fluffy and generously filled with a tangy, tart raspberry jam. This might be the best jam doughnut in London." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager, sinead cranna

The 7 Best Doughnuts In London - London - The Infatuation

"Order this: The best raspberry jam doughnut in London. A lockdown creation—hence the name—Lockdown Bakehouse was started by two hospitality professionals providing supplies to their local community and NHS workers. It turned into a small bakery, then a pop-up cafe. And since then, this Wandsworth bakery has been our go-to for a 10/10 raspberry jam doughnut. Operating from a small, out-of-the-way spot surrounded by warehouse-like buildings, it's more of a grab-and-go situation but be warned, the doughnuts sell out quickly. You can try your luck at their second Barnes location, or order some of their doughnuts online if Wandsworth feels like a mission." - heidi lauth beasley, rianne shlebak

5 Exciting Things To Eat & Do In London Between August 19th - 22nd - London - The Infatuation

"If you’re sick of heading to Westfield for some shelter every time the rain is scheduled to make an appearance, how about you head to another shopping centre, where shopping is the last thing you’re likely to be doing. A new 80,000 square foot venue in Wandsworth’s Southside shopping centre has everything from electric go karting, and AR bowling, to digital darts, and an arcade. And what’s more, it’s less than a-10 minute walk from one of our favourite new bakeries, Lockdown Bakehouse. We’d head to the bakery first and stock up on doughnuts, then spend a couple of hours pretending we’re 12 years old in the arcade. Book tickets here." - rianne shlebak

Lockdown Bakehouse - Review - Wandsworth - London - The Infatuation

"A lockdown creation—hence the name—this bakery was started by two hospitality professionals providing supplies to their local community and NHS workers. It turned into a small bakery, then a pop-up cafe. The permanent Wandsworth bakery serves some of the best raspberry doughnuts you can get in London, as well as a whole load of baked goods from potato sourdough to sausage rolls and delicious pies filled with steak and ale, or mac and cheese. Operating from a small, out-of-the-way spot surrounded by warehouse-like buildings, it's more of a grab-and-go situation. But you should know that they also deliver their excellent doughnuts. Now they’ve even opened a second Barnes location." - Rianne Shlebak

Hidden Gem. Get there early for the sandwiches & toasties - they are delicious! Pastrami toastie is amazing. Lamingtons, cinnamon buns, pastries rank with the very best. There's often a line at the take-away door, but it's quick, efficient and cheerful service with a smile, so don't be discouraged. Flat Whites and lattes are well done. Go for a morning run along the Thames and stop here for your reward. It's worth running the extra miles for!

Wonderful bakery with a laidback vibe near Wandsworth Town station. Coffee was silky and smooth. The lemon and blueberry muffin was delicious, but a bit too bready to warrant five stars (I have a strict criteria for muffins). I also tried the pork sausage roll, which was small but mighty. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options.

A great place for a quick breakfast or lunch! I came here waiting for an appointment in the local area needing something to eat and drink. I noticed two parts to the building, the counter which was for takeaway only and a large seating area with table service. I opted for the table service area and sat inside which they were happy with even though it was completely empty. I was provided with a menu and was immediately drawn to the Shakshuka given the cold weather. I ordered it with a cup of breakfast tea and a pain au chocolat which were brought to my table before the shakshuka - both going down very well. The pain au choclat whilst late in the day was excellently lamiated with the many many layers and buttery in taste with a generous amount of dark chocolate within washed down perfectly with the breakfast tea which itself was a proper quality bag. The shakshuka arrived within 10mins piping hot. I was immediately drawn to the way they did the eggs - boiled and placed on top of the dish with a garnish. From a presentation perspective it looked amazing and I had a feeling the chefs really cared about the food they procuded. Whilst it's not a 'proper' shakshuka where you crack the eggs directly into the dish and bake it that way, I was not complaining. The toasted and well buttered bread provided was sliced exceptionally thick and was the perfect amount to enjoy dipping into the eggs and dish. The taste was amazing with plenty of veggies and tomato not being too watery or dry - it was made just right to my tastes with a mild kick to warm up my insides. Overall, for a small cafe as a waiting stop this couldn't have satisfied me more. A definite 5* experience for me and would highly recommend visiting if you're in the area. I will certainly endeavour to visit again! Thank you Lockdown Bakery Team!!

We visited this bakery on recommendation of our friend and we were not disappointed! Really lovely bakery with outside seating (don’t know if it’s available in winter). We had absolutely delicious food. Definitely coming back next time in London!

Google
Awesome sour dough bread. Good prices and nice buzz. Nice to see them grow from a little. Recommend a Sunday brunch. Only negative, on a few occasions, service has been more of a "hmm, huff", if someone asks "do you not have any more sour dough" a simple reply of "sorry we only do one bake a day" would be sufficient.

Food is fine but overpriced - we ordered a side of halloumi, the portion was two thin slices and not particularly tasty, but somehow cost £3…. Hash browns were very good but otherwise the food was unremarkable. Best to get a take away coffee and pastry rather than sit in for brunch.

Always a great experience at Lockdown. The food is exceptional and very well priced. The service is great and very friendly. Flat white was a bit cold this time (served in a different mug to usual?) but other than that as great as usual!

Everyone deserves a second chance, and I'm glad I gave one to Lockdown Bakehouse. On my first visit, I tried two pies, and frankly, I did not like them at all. Initially, I thought I was over the bakehouse, but I've been on a number of occasions since, and I've concluded the stellar reputation is warranted. The doughnuts, the cakes (particularly the Almond cake), and more have been phenomenal. I'm unsure which sandwich I had (it's pictured), but I still think about it almost 2 weeks after last trying it. Personally, I much preferred the Almond cake to the walnut cake. The Almond cake was moist and delicious, whereas the walnut cake was rather dry. My recommendation is to try the sweet treats, and the sandwiches avoid the pies.
