Where to Eat and Drink in Lockhart

"This women-owned watering hole aims to be the friendliest neighborhood bar in Lockhart, but it’s much more than that. It’s also a place where people meet up to craft together, listen to music, brave an open mic night, or dominate in trivia while sipping beer, wine, and wine-based cocktails." - Darcie Duttweiler

I love this place! It was super cozy and relaxed. The decor is lovely, and there are neat little nooks where you can chill and read with a drink. I would also highly recommend hanging out here with friends. The bartender was fantastic as well. I recommend the blackberry cidar. It was amazing!

Had such a great time here when visiting Lockhart a couple weeks ago! They had live DJs going and everyone was having a blast. Was bummed to hear a rumor that they are closing soon. Hopefully someone takes over and keeps the cool vibes going!

The place best in Lockhart to relax, have a drink, and maybe meet a few cool people. Every night is different. I love to come on board game night. But they are mainly geared toward guided crafting classes, which are popular. They even do a movie night and a book club.

Arts and Craft is a great addition to the Lockhart community! Great place for gatherings, to go have a drink, or to work on a project! I love it! ❤️

Beer, cider, wine, coffee, tea, Italian soda. arts and crafts. LOTS of cushy seating, low tables, board games, dim cozy corners, a very relaxing aesthetic, and excellent boss women behind the bar. I go there with my husband or on my lonesome every once in a while for a nice meandering time. We also go to see friends--including the bartenders and their husbands who are GREAT people--and hear some really good bands play. It's mostly quiet and chill, but it can get pretty raucous. And my kid took his first step there on a Sunday afternoon! It's an extremely welcoming family friendly environment, but the front left room is mine. The doors are always open because I'm a very trusting person, but keep out. I mean it.

Great little unique place to have a craft Brew or glad of wine. Lots of things to do for the whole family. They are kid friendly. I caught a night they were having a special event with five area bands. It was packed and the staff handled the crowd like pros. Definitely a good time and will visit again.

This place is a true gem. The theme of being welcome for whoever you are, runs deep. Walking in, you see the charm of people gathering, from birthday parties and personal art on the walls, plus games, groups of welcoming people and a cozy bar top with comfy chairs, amazing local beer, and the two best bar owners I've ever met. Plus ten thousand points for being a woman owned business that provides a safe space, a gathering room for EVERYONE and a way to learn new skills. It's a community pillar and I hope it stays FOR EVER.

This place is amazing. It has the ambiance of a storybook pub or tavern where the occupants really do know one another's names, and they're always glad you came, even if you're new in town. Where else do people gather to craft and play, and converse and drink? Conceptually it's brilliant, in person it's magical.

Yelp
Live music and friendly folks on staff during our recent visit. If you're in the vicinity and want to stop in for a drink, they have a wide array from which to choose. The live music stage is set up in the far back corner, so you have a good view from anywhere in the place. Decor reminds me of a friendly neighborhood coffee shop. Parking in Lockhart is free on the street, so coming from Austin, it was almost a surreal step back in time. People in Lockhart must enjoy the slower, friendlier pace of life. Looking forward to next time.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I had the pleasure to stumble in to this place. We drank watermelon ciders and played battleship. If you want a place that's cozy, welcoming and very chill (wish we had this in Austin) this is the place for you. I felt like I was in my living room plus the high ceilings and easy on the eyes lighting. I'll definitely be back

Yelp
We stumbled into Lockhart Arts and Crafts to escape the heat after a long day of town-hopping and exploring. Arts and Crafts is a wonderful passion project of its owners and a gem in the crown of beautiful downtown Lockhart. It's evidently a work-in-progress, but the progress they've made has led to a wide array of craft beverages (with and without alcohol), shelves and shelves of board games, live music, and a sort-of in-house food truck style table. We ordered a Korean-inspired corn salad and zucchini bread served with goat cheese. We enjoyed a bottle of beer and a non-alcoholic blueberry shrub. Everything from the food to the service was wonderful. The interior was a bit rustic with some cobwebs on the ceiling and they had run out of a few beverages when we ordered. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd love to go again.

Yelp
i had the happy luck of discovering lockhart arts & craft tonight while visiting friends who reside in this beautiful, small texas town. we were looking to have a glass of wine & a beer or two over some conversation after dinner on a chilly tuesday night and this cozy new business provided the perfect atmosphere. mondays are movie night, so when we arrived at 9p the tail end of perennial favorite 'high fidelity' was projected on the wall across from the bar. the beer & wine list is well-curated & super affordable for its quality. proprietors sara(h) & la(y)ne were super-friendly & welcoming. I picked up a postcard advertising their upcoming arts & craft nights --- crystal terrarium necklaces & leather mason jar holder close out the month of january. wednesday nights are game night, too! bottom line --- be sure to check out this new beautiful, mixed-use space. if i lived here year-round, i would definitely be a regular.

Yelp
Right off the square in downtown is a hidden jewel known as the Lockhart Arts & Craft shop. We stopped in on a recommendation from another local business owner. While they have a variety of art and craft projects you can take part in, it also has a great wine and beer selection. We got there a little before closing time and had a few draft brews and some great conversation with the bartender. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
I was passing through Lockhart and found this gem. Everyone was so welcoming. They have good drinks at reasonable prices. And there's an N64 Mario Kart tourney in a few days. I really dig it. It was soo good y'all.

Yelp
We went here for the Grand Opening and while at the time I thought "this place won't last", it has since grown into an amazing place to hang out with my kids. There are not nearly enough places that allow families to enjoy themselves in Lockhart. We seriously love LAAC. It has been a pleasure to watch LAAC grow into what it has become. We seriously love this place.
