"Ever heard of a bonut? Neither had we until we visited Biscuit Love, a cult-favorite breakfast spot in Nashville 's happening Gulch neighborhood, where morning queues often exceed an hour on weekends. And bonuts—deep-fried biscuit dough slathered in lemon mascarpone and balanced on a sticky heap of blueberry compote—are just one of the many hits on the menu. The restaurant had its origins in 2012 as a food truck, where husband-and-wife team Karl and Sarah Worley's made-from-scratch biscuits made them an overnight success. In January 2015, they openeda brick-and-mortar restaurant, where Karl mans the stoves andSarah runs the front of the house, making sure patrons get their Southern classics while they're hot. Be sure to order abonut, along with the sweet-and-spicy Chronic Bacon, shrimp and grits, and the off-menu Nasty Princess, a biscuit topped with Nashville-style hot chicken, gravy, pickles, mustard, and honey."

Yelp
I am very surprised by the mixed reviews of this Loews hotel because I had the most fabulous stay last week for a work trip. I flew in to help with an event at the Adventure Science center, and this hotel was nearby. I have stayed at the Loews in South Beach, and I am familiar with the quality of the brand so I was excited to stay here. This hotel is beautiful, and my room with a king bed was super spacious. The bed was glorious and I also loved the hotel bathrobes. While I didn't spend much time in my room, it hard a large desk which would have been perfect to work from. I thought the service was friendly at the front desk, and the Valet was super easy and quick every day. Would definitely stay here again for business or pleasure as it is super central and within walking distance to a bunch of great bars and restaurants as well.

Yelp
We came for the Hot Chocolate Affair which is such a cute concept. The pot/saucer concept is adorable! You are able to choose from several kinds of chocolate, multiple toppings, and then you get a tower of pastries to choose from. If you're feeling extra, get a martini flight! The service is wonderful, and I really enjoyed the overall experience. However, I do not think it is worth the cost. For two people, it was $160 which is so much. I know you're paying for the "experience" but even that is a bit over the top. They do let you take home the leftover pastries so that's a plus!

Yelp
Not a fan of Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville. 1.5 stars. The front desk needs more coordination and a bit more maturity and professionalism out of its front desk staff. I made my reservations about 1-1.5 months before my stay. When checking in, I was given a room on the 3rd floor. My friends got rooms on the 7th and 9th floors. I asked the front desk staff if I could get a higher floor to be closer to my friends. One polite gentleman employee said it would be ok to switch me to the 9th floor. The two young ladies who were helping me looked and said it was not possible (they were all looking at the same screen). The employees giggled like elementary school children and eventually told me there was no option for me to switch rooms at the moment. I was stuck on the 3rd floor for 5 days and 4 nights. The third floor - AVOID. The hotel is pet friendly. I have dogs. But people leave their pets in the room while they are out. Dogs are barking constantly. The floor smells like pets! I'm guessing they also put families with very young children on the 3rd floor because there were screaming infants / young children all hours of the day. The hotel room walls are thin and you hear everything. The hotel rooms are not maintained and are falling apart. There are broken clothes racks, stains on the carpet, and stains on the bathroom walls. The Loews felt more like a Motel 6. This hotel is dirty. My guest room had a view in line of sight of the parking lot. I'm guessing 1/2 the hotel has a view of their parking lot. On a positive note - restaurant staff, cleaning staff, and valets / bell hops were very friendly and offered great customer service.

Yelp
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Only thing needs to change is the ridiculous price to park in their hotel parking garage $49 a night! Totally insane!!! Would have gotten a 5 stars but the parking fee was the biggest issue!

Yelp
I really liked this hotel! The doorman was amazing and greeted us very excitedly each morning. I arrived at 4 pm on a Thursday and checked in right away. This was the best and fastest check in experience ever. The employee asked me several times if there was anything else she could do to make my stay better. Really great service! My room had 2 comfortable queen beds and was fresh and clean when I arrived. The room had literally everything I needed down to cotton balls and qtips. I did use the iron and ironing board, keurig, and tv and everything worked well. There were also 2 warm, plush robes that I definitely used while getting ready. Cozy and clean room. Free wifi too was strong. They had infused waters in the lobby which was nice too. I liked sitting by the fire in the lobby in the morning and enjoyed a glass of wine at their nice hotel bar too. The location was absolutely perfect. I would definitely stay here again! 5 star experience!

Yelp
First time staying at Loews. Usually I stay near the airport, but wanted to be closer to where we'd be spending most of our time this trip. Upon arrival, Aira (I believe was her name) was super helpful. The room was clean & and the bed was comfortable. The car service is a nice feature, but we ended up using Uber as the car service was extremely busy. The location of the hotel definitely makes some things walkable or a quick Uber ride. The cons are the parking charge. I had booked through Expedia, and there was no mention of the charge ($49 self-service $54 valet). If I had known that, I may have chosen a different option. The on-site restaurant & bar are great. Another con is the $11 bottled water at the on-site shop.

Yelp
One star for the front door and desk man who were great and deserve 5, the rest-- yuck. Two of us stayed here- both woke up sick every morning, cleared up once we were outside for a few hours. Worst part- BED BUGS! Yes- spending the following week with doctor prescribed cream.

Yelp
Booked over the phone as I had some questions. Felt like I was way over charged. Double checked the online rates right after hanging up and I was charged $220 more! Called to get this fixed and was told there was nothing they could do but put in a ticket, and that it's at least 24-48 hours before they return my call. If I tried to cancel the reservation they would charge me one whole days rate as a penalty! This all happened within a few hours. I will never give this hotel my business again.

Yelp
The service was good, and the food was surprisingly enjoyable. However, the rooms were a shabby and felt uncleanEd, feeling more like a 3-star experience. Additionally, the hotel was unbearably cold, to the point where my husband, who usually runs hot, had to wear a spring jacket just to stay warm.

Yelp
I booked a night at Loews ahead of a bachelorette weekend as a solo night of relaxation. I landed in Nashville at 10:30 and arrived at the hotel around 11. There were about three people ahead of me to check in, which must have just been weird timing, and there was only one concierge, Beau. He was pleasant and friendly, and he was doing the best he could considering the city had shut the water down in the area. The phone was ringing off the hook but i tried to be patient and he was very helpful. He said the water would be out until 4am so I took a few water bottles he had. The decor was not as nice as I expected but the room was decent. There was no fitted sheet on the bed which bugged me a bit, but I was exhausted so I just decided to go to sleep and not worry about it. The room was otherwise nice, and the water was back on when I woke up. Overall I had higher expectations since I knew the Loews in other cities were very nice, so I likely won't return to this hotel.

Yelp
This hotel does things like not give you the room you booked and paid for and they have aggressive security guards that will bust into your room and physically attack you. Think twice about staying here. They won't apologize or compensate you. seriously thinking about a lawsuit. Management says they will take action but they don't. Just a terribly run hotel. I wish I could give it negative stars. I'm done with this hotel. Second stay and the same terrible treatment and I booked a suite. you would think they would appreciate their customers. Nope... stay away.

Yelp
Exceptional stay and comfort. Beds are comfy with large pillows. Shower head is phenomenal and makes it difficult to get out of shower. Plush robes, luxury bath products, exceptional customer service in every aspect of the hotel. Try to get a parking inclusive package; otherwise pricy to park. If you don't need a car, they have a car service that can take you to close areas.

Yelp
We stayed here for 3-nights in April while visiting Nashville for the 1st time. I first want to say that if this review was just about the people that work here--I would have given it 5-stars easily. Almost everyone we encountered at this hotel--and we dealt with a lot of different people were fantastic, helpful, great people. This hotel is a short drive and a 30-minute walk to downtown--you are not going to want to walk it more than once--it's over busy highways, exits, on a really busy high traffic street. They had the best free shuttle here that we used about 6 times to get where we needed to go in the area. It will pick you up too, but we used Lyft to get back except 1x they came for us. The towels are very soft and newish (some had stains or hair we could not use), the beds very comfortable, shower excellent, soaps/shampoo the best (not from China). If you call for extra things--they bring it up to the room right away. The issues in this hotel and the reason I only gave it a 3-star OK rating are not the people, it's the corporate policies and room problems that we encountered during our stay that should not be on a $300 to $400 a night hotel detailed below: 1. I could not believe when I lifted the toilet seat for the first time after entering the room yellow pee in the toilet, toilet paper, and a pink sweet & low wrapper. I talked to my partner about whether we should go back down and ask for a new room but everything else in the room seemed to be okay and we were tired from the flight and wanted dinner so we just flushed it, washed the toilet seat and got on with the evening. But I have never encountered this ever after checking into a hotel or motel ever--someones pee in the toilet. I still have a vision of it in my mind. 2. I could not believe that housekeeping did not report to maintenance that the sink cold water is barely running--the hot ran fine--but the cold was low pressure--coming out in a light stream. Again, we were not going to take up our valuable time having to deal with scheduling maintenance--when they will come in the room--security of our stuff--we just dealt with it for 3 days. I tried to fix it myself, but the controls were behind a panel under the sink I could not access without tools. But again--there must be a penalty for housekeeping to report problems because how could you not notice it if you are cleaning the sink? 2a. The water would not go down--the stopper was locked in the closed position. This one I was able to fix by pulling the stopper completely off and then resetting it for the right height so the water goes down. 3. There is no refrigerator in the room to put our leftovers, our water we buy that we want cold all night and in the morning, yogurt to get the day going, fruit, etc. 4. Instead, they have a fully stocked refrigerator with a whole bunch of things you don't want with unknown expiration dates that have sensors on each compartment that if you remove--you will be charged. No extra room in the refrigerator for our stuff. And worse, there was no price list at all for anything in there. 5. We got charged for drinking one of their beers because I moved it to put a dinner left over in that compartment. The manager told us that if you move something in there for more than a few seconds you get charged even if you put it back later! And every night we came back with drinks or food that we wanted to keep cold and no place to put them. I hated that! 6. One of the two USB/AC outlets next to beds did not work. So in sum--while it was a comfortable room to shower and sleep in with great staff--I would probably look for another place to stay if I returned to Nashville.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! Front desk service was quick and seamless. Valet polite and great to work with during drop off. Hotel shuttle was top notch...better to be described as amazing. Checked into room...it wasn't clean from the night before. Switched rooms in five minutes. Bar was slow at best. Drinks and food took forever and after a $350 bill we weren't there for a minute but felt like it . Treated like we bought one round. Disappointed when it wasn't busy and the expense. Wanted to love this establishment but the service was rough. Something to build on...

Yelp
Van the doorman was the most polite, kind hotel employee I've come in contact with in ages. Incredibly nice and outgoing. Thank him for his kind service, please

Yelp
I think the Loews is the best hotel in town. Thank you Alexis the french for providing a 5***** service from day 1. The driver Jessy of the shuttle is very professional and friendly. The room was clean and very luxurious. The lobby is so beautiful that you want to stay at the hotel. The ladies receptionists (Bre & Leasa) were very nice and attentive.

Yelp
First time in Nashville. This hotel is close to restaurants. Walkable to downtown, although I Uber'd. The hotel has a shuttle service if your location is close to the hotel. I have to say that from desk service is like one star hotel. Seems like to be a front desk manager, not providing much of a customer service experience. I asked for a room close to my friend. With an attitude, the receptionist and the manager said hotel is sold out. This is what I have. I also asked if I can check in later, would there be another room ready. The answer was no, this is all.

Yelp
Nice hotel and rooms are high quality, on par with Marriott when you're tired of always staying at a Marriott you know what I mean? But mostly I'm leaving a review for the excellent service. I left some stuff behind and the lost and found and security team went above and beyond shipping it back to me, it was just really thoughtful and appreciated. Thank you SO much guys! And bonus points for that furry wall at reception.

Yelp
Everything from the valet attendants, to the bar, to the front desk was great on this visit. This was my first stay at a Loews hotel and I really loved their pet policy! We got so much cool dog swag when we checked in (bowl, poop bags, treats) and the staff always smiled and was pleasant to interact with. The bed was comfy, and there were two nice large chairs to sit in which was nice as I sat down for a drink in the room while my spouse got ready for a night out on music row. The morning we left we took a quick walk across the street to the campus which is beautiful and grabbed a burrito before heading out of town. I look forward to staying at other Loews hotels as this one set the bar high. Probably the nicest valets attendants I've come across (I interacted with 5 individuals). They were all awesome, polite, and engaging!

Yelp
Loews staff is outstanding! Especially Joy at the Front desk. She was pleasant and kind a great person to represent Loews Front Desk!! Will love to stay here again.

Yelp
What a wonderful stay in this hotel, the customer service is excellent. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and safe to stay here. We are here on our anniversary, our children treated us for a few days away, This hotel is so centrally located to everything for a quick walk a short drive everything in Tennessee and is the perfect location to stay. I only have one suggestion when they designed the shower turn on switch, to the shower every time you get soaking wet with cold water they should've put the opening on the other side of the door, then this way you get avoid getting your pajamas wet. I know it sounds silly, but getting wet before you get in the shower is annoying.

Yelp
When I see 'Loews' I think luxury, service, concierge , etc. In a word: elite. I took my (orphaned) nephew on a road trip to Nashville as a reward for graduating top 1% from IU Kelly School of Business. So I splurged $775 a night. More than the Beverly Hills Hotel and same price as ritz Carlton Santa Barbara (for a jr suite). I called the concierge 6x on way and they never answered- but they did hang up. 6 times. Arrived and no bellmen. No wheelchair that Î required and requested. We had to Schlep our luggage. I asked n for the concierge and was told 'she took the day off.' Really? Friday if Country Music Awards you're running a skeleton crew? Another reason I chose this was 'free car service' to restaurants etc. Was told it's first come first serves and it stops at 9 pm. None of this was on website and No concierge to arrange a driver, reservations etc. Walked into room, and into the bathroom I went. To my horror there was urine in the bowl and on the floor. I called to complain. They hung up. NEXT- I google 'Loews Nashville new owner' and it was sold 2 years ago. It was so obvious. I was puzzled . Why would the Loews corp allow a buyer to keep naming rights? So I check Secretary of State and he says '18 businesses at hotel addresses are registered, but not Loews Vanderbilt. I don't know what the real name of this dump is, but it seemingly is not Loews Vanderbilt. Next, one of the owners began texting me and it escalated to harassment. I had to block his number. To top it off, several couples had their catalytic converters stolen while parked in the garage. NO RECOMMENDATION other than stay away. Far away

Yelp
Amazing hotel. Clear views of Vanderbilt University and it was such a wonderful location! You can easily walk anywhere and there is amazing food!

Yelp
After my Air BNB went horribly wrong, was in a panic and in a rush to find a hotel to stay at in the area, for both my dog and I. Loews was beyond accommodating- from the service at the front desk, to the staff at the restaurant downstairs. They allowed me to keep adding on nights, as my stay was extended (and charged me the original price), and it was not a hassle at all. Very very friendly staff. The hotel has all guests that come with a dog stay on the 3rd floor- which is nice because if you don't have a dog you won't hear the barking. And if you do, you won't feel bad if yours isn't the quietest. LOTs of dogs all around the hotel, very pet friendly, plenty of places to walk them right outside; and they greet your furry friend with a Welcome bag full of treats and bowls!! The location of the hotel is great- it is right by downtown! Walking distance to most things. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, and I really appreciated how friendly the staff was. I would stay here again.

Yelp
I have stayed at several Loews hotel properties and I only expected the best from the Loews Vanderbilt in Nashville. When I pulled up, the signage was not clear and the area is really tight. The valet attendant and the bellhop were super friendly, so my hopes increased for a moment. Walked inside . . . Lobby looked cool, but when I checked in Adrian had very low energy, and told me that my Grand King would be located on the second floor. I didn't like his attitude . . . I told him that I was promised a higher floor when making the reservation and he told me . . . Just like the airlines we oversell and I get to deliver the bad news. I thought to myself . . . Who trained you with that response? No one!! Lol!! Anyway, I was tired after a long drive, and I wanted to get to my room. The room was ok, terrible view with blockage in one window. I felt sad and honestly discriminated against (by Adrian) for a +$500 per night room, I was not impressed. Bathroom was small, and I did not have the glass surrounded shower, that I was promised (typical white shower curtain). The bathroom was actually old and outdated. There was exposed wiring for the lighting near the desk (see pic) . . . Not classy at all. My husband ordered breakfast Monday morning and there was no in room dining until Wednesday. The best part of the hotel is the Ruth's Chris bar which was so fun (and it's own entity)!! Van (Bellhop) , Drew (Valet) and Alex (Bellhop) Nice guys . . . Best part of my visit!!! Loews I know that you are individually managed, but the extreme differences between the Loews experiences will impact your overall brand. I WOULD NOT recommend that you stay at the Loews Vanderbilt in Nashville . . . Good location . . . But not worth the money . . . And Adrian is terrible at the front desk . . .

Yelp
Totally awesome experience. Wonderful bedding, spotless room, good bar. Their room service food is not good at all, but they made it right on the issue, no questions asked. Customer service was over the top. Our favorite hotel in Nash.

Yelp
When we first arrived the heat was not working in our room, the fan wasn't blowing. After a couple trips the maintenance person said he switched us rooms. We had to pack all of our things up and go up a floor to another room. In that room, For over an hour we heard a woman swearing over the phone in the room next to us...I suppose to her husband why she left him... either she was super loud and screaming...:( . The bed was too firm and if your a side sleeper bring your own pillow... pillows were not good... I didn't sleep... paint is chipping on door in bath, wallpaper is worn on corners... signage on valet has missing letters... when we call down to bring our car around to leave , car wasn't there and they made the excuse of new system... and when we got in our 2022 genesis my Passagier seat had been moved....immm valet needs passengers or did they decide to take a drive???....this hotel need to be revamped! What did I love... the blackout curtains! Make a note to go to Conrad next time....

Brycen Kirk H.

Yelp
No reason at a hotel that charges as much as they do for house keeping to be knocking at your door 2 hours before check out time. Also the air conditioners in the rooms are terrible we had to sleep under the thing sheet just to be able to not sweat throughout the night.

Yelp
Everything about this hotel was spot on. From the moment we checked in, the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and clean. (I do not advise ordering a room service as our order was quite terrible, but I don't feel like that has anything to do with the actual hotel) when I called about our issues with our room service meal, the front desk immediately apologized and credited the bill to our account. The valet was super attentive and all staff a helpful. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a higher end hotel near the campus. Not sure I would ever return to Nashville but if I do, I would, definitely staying this hotel.

Yelp
I recently stayed here for a work conference and have to say when I go back to Nashville to visit I'm going to stay here! I was here during a big football weekend so the hotel was completely booked but you wouldn't know it by the interactions with the staff. True southern hospitality. Our flight got us to the hotel about 10 AM and they were so accommodating. We stored our luggage and by about noon had a text that our room was ready. The location was great, and they offered a hotel car within a 3 mile radius, which is pretty much any where you would want to go! They are next to the Vanderbilt University campus and within walking distance of The Row restaurant. We are there twice during our stay. Great find, good food and local musicians. I'd also suggest the bar in the lobby, Mason's. Again great food and both of the bartenders we met were super cool. The hotel itself is modern yet comfortable. Lots of little areas to sit in the lobby. The rooms were nicely decorated and very comfortable. The meeting spaces were very nice and the conference food was great, complete with biscuits and gravy one morning. If your looking for true southern hospitality you have to give this place a try!

Yelp
We arrived Friday morning. The area we were staying was surrounded by buildings, chain restaurants, just plain concrete. But we arrived to Loews Vanderbilt, welcoming their guests with a beautiful water fountain surrounded with flowers, giving this concrete jungle a hint of nature and color, and it just makes you feel happy, and cozy. The valet immediately opens the doors for you, as you arrive, and takes care of all your luggage. They open doors, help you get transportation, and even offer their own (in an escalade) if you want to go anywhere to and from 3 miles the hotel. Check-in was not until noon, we got there earlier so they got my phone number, stored our luggage for us and allowed us to start our day in Nashville while our room was ready. At noon on the dot, we got back to the hotel and our room was ready. The lobby is nice and spacious, they have a little café to the right hand side of it with coffee, tea, sandwiches and more. Right in front of the elevators is a beautiful lounge with full bar. Next to the elevators they always have flavored water, making sure their guests stay hydrated, especially during the hot summers. Rooms are spacious and clean, decorated with music themed art. Comfortable beds, coffee machine with coffee and tea, spacious closet, mini bar (with purchase), and light blocking shades. Bathroom was also very clean, comfortable and stocked with everything you need. Location is great, Music Row and Broadway (downtown) are less than 2 miles away, which again, is included in their transportation service. As much as I loved the hotel, I must say I was mostly impressed with the service. I had a little accident while staying in Nashville. Hurt my foot and was not able to walk. As soon as I "hopped" out of the car, they immediately offered me a wheelchair and helped me on it and in the hotel. They even allowed us to keep it for the rest of the next day so we could enjoy our last day in the city. We had a full day still, if it wasn't for this service, we would have lost that whole day, and missed seeing and experience part of Nashville. Every time they would see me they would ask how I was feeling, wished me a quick recovery, opened doors, helped me in and out of the cars, took care of the wheelchair, etc. The drivers on their cars were always friendly, professional and great to talk to. Really appreciate it Loews staff for making this a great stay, and for your care and attention. Truly turned, what could have been a bad day, into a fun, story worthy, day in Nashville. Thank you!

Yelp
We stayed over the weekend and the staff were amazing. Bree check us in and she was absolutely amazing. She is made for hospitality, as her warm and welcoming demeanor and helpfulness really make you feel at home after a long day of travel. Also, Bree and Taylor were amazing with our fur baby and made sure he was all taken care of. This is one of the best dog friendly hotels I've ever been too. Finally, Van is the most friendly and personable staff members. Making sure my family and I had everything we needed at all times.

Yelp
Not all Loews are created equal. Sadly, this one kind of just missed the mark all around. Front desk lady that checked us in was unwelcoming and pretty cold. Kind of foreshadowing of what to expect during your stay here. From pictures, the rooms seemed fine, but up close it feels dated and not the most cleanly. It is dog friendly which was fine. No issues with allergies or out room smelling like another dog had been there, so that was a plus. Shower doubles as tub, which definitely makes it feel more like a typical hotel. I always prefer walk in shower as I never seem to find myself using those shower tubs. Parking garage was a bit chaotic, use caution when walking to get to your car. And the cost of parking per night was just adding insult to injury. If I had to do this again, I'd pick else where to stay when in Nashville. 'Til next time.

Desiree C.

Yelp
Avoid like the plague!! The billing department is the worst I have ever dealt with along with what I can only assume are inbred staff not able to perform even the most basic services of their jobs.
google avatar

Cassidy M.

Yelp
Customer service is so bad here. I should have known better as I called with questions about covid sanitation and protocol and the women on the phone was literally sighing which is only to be topped by the actually eye rolls witnessed by the staff and if that's not bad enough I heard housekeeping talking ill of the staff to be fair they thought they were discreet as they weren't speaking English. As many other reviews point out, the amenities are dated, the restaurant is awful (see their menu online; I feel I was warned about this), the prices are inflated, and ongoing construction is a problem. Wireless internet is often too slow to use; I generally gave up trying. The fitness center lacks a pool. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably well-appointed, but not for the price. The breakfast and happy hour available if you stay above the 9th floor are nice touches, and the staff is generally friendly and helpful. It's a comfortable night's sleep. The location is convenient to downtown or west Nashville, and especially to Vanderbilt. It just isn't worth nearly $500/night with parking, internet, and various fees included.

Yelp
Old and tired room and hallways. Will not recommend unless they renovate. We got the grand king room, which was very spacious with cute OLD furniture. All the cabinets were scratched and are in need of either replacement or at least a fresh coat of paint. A very long blond, or grey, hair on the towel. Bed and pillows were comfortable and lobby looks nice. Our room came with 25 dollar voucher towards a purchase from one of the stores in the hotel. We took advantage of that. Staff was nice and courteous

Yelp
Conflicted about my time at Loews. On the one hand the bar staff was really friendly and made great recommendations for a couple of their wine by the glass pours. On the other hand, the front desk staff was a little cold, and didn't really seem super interested in making our stay as enjoyable as possible. Room itself was nice, but we were right above the main entrance so it was louder than I suspect the other rooms in the hotel are. Overall, an average stay, and I don't think totally worth the sticker price.

Yelp
Great service. Everyone was very accommodating and nice. Doorman was super nice. We liked the security the hotel has with the room keys. Felt very safe when we were there.

Yelp
I always heard horror stories of those who's pets accidentally ingest medicine/ drugs left behind in hotel rooms. Never did I think it would happen to me. We checked into this hotel in the morning immediately after losing my grandmother to cancer at Vanderbilt Hospital. We were devastated. Within 10 minutes of being in our room I see my dog grab something from under the bed. She quickly spit it out and to our disbelief, we find this pain pill. I panicked and went down to the lobby to speak to the manager on duty. When I explained what happened he was absolutely apathetic and unprofessional. I told him how serious it was and that an emergency vet bill would have cost thousands to pump her stomach had she ingested it. All he does is offer me a $100 credit and says he will talk to the cleaning staff. I asked him "so you think my dogs life is only worth $100 dollars?" I told him we were checking out immediately and we were to be refunded in full. When we came to check out he was gone and I spoke to a different manger who was more understanding and took care of us. We were still charged $40 for each of our cars being valeted for less than an hour. The sad truth is that this hotel is gone completely downhill. A place once known for its luxury and hospitality is now an overpriced hellhole.

Yelp
A stunning, classy hotel with a beautiful downtown view. Just blocks away from the buzzing downtown life, this is a great option for those that are wanting to be walking distance from the heart of Nashville.

Yelp
So, if it was for customer service alone, I'd give this place 4 stars. However, the overall experience here was "meh." Once you go beyond the valet exterior and spacious lobby, the classy-looking bar/restaurant, and the friendly front desk staff, you will find yourself in purgatory. The rooms were not clean. From heavy dust, stains on the wall, carpeting coming off the floors, to SOMEONES USED SOCK still chillin in the drawer, this colored my experience. The front desk people were helpful in the matter, but I also understand its not their full responsibility and they probably don't even have any idea what the rooms look like, anyway. On the plus side, the hotel is very close to Vandervilt and close enough to downtown. There is no airport shuttle, which would be a nice perk, but they do have a van that can take you places within a 3 mile radius. So, I think this place is still ok to stay here, just adjust your expectations and be nice the front desk staff, I am sure they have far more than enough to deal with.

Yelp
Without exaggerating, this was the worst hotel stay I've ever experienced. Staff was welcoming - they were not the issue. However, for almost $300/a night, the facilities, cleanliness were lacking to say the least. First of all, the room had about 15-20 lady bugs...makes you wonder what other insects are hiding in the room. Some dead but most alive crawling all over windows and my clothes and bed. The alarm clock, TV, light fixtures (bulbs not working), dirty windows and shower, decor - everything was dated and not well kept. Some of the wall art falling apart. There were two coasters in the bathroom were two glasses were placed. The coasters were dirty and stained! The coffee machine had an old used Keurig cup from a previous guest. This list goes on. For the amount of money I paid, the experience was extremely disappointing. I completed the survey that the hotel sent me and after one week got a general "cut and paste" response simply saying they apologized - an apology is not enough. For $300/night I could have found a way better hotel and I believe the right thing to do would have been to at least give me a partial refund.

Yelp
This hotel has no soul, nor does the ownership. I booked a hotel there and paid in advance the day before my stay for three nights through American Express. The reason for my booing last minute and paying in advance was because my father had a stroke out on a hike near Nashville. He was airlifted to a hospital there. I was made aware that the booking in advance was final and there was no refund. However, upon check in I asked to only stay one night and please cancel the two other nights as my father was being transferred to a different hospital no where near this hotel due to zero beds being available due to COVID. He had been in the emergency room for ten hours before he was transferred to get proper care. I articulated this to AMEX and the hotel. And they refused to refund the two nights. The hotel was no where near 50% occupancy. As a veteran of the hospitality industry, this is shocking. I will never stay at another Lowes again and will be sure to remind my hundreds of colleagues in the industry to do the same.

Yelp
This hotel is perfect! The staff was helpful and welcoming and everything was clean and neat! Pick this place if you have a pet that you're traveling with. They are very accommodating and even give your pet a cute welcome package!

Yelp
**Yelp 100 Challenge 2017 71/100** Easily best Loews I've ever stayed in. Had a 3-day stay here for a work conference, and I thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. The Loews Vanderbilt is right next to (you guessed it) Vanderbilt University. Spent some time on a run to go around campus and explore - it's so close. You're also a 5-10 minute Uber away from the up-and-coming Gulch area as well as Downtown Nashville. Check-in is at 4pm and Check-out is at 12 pm - I mention it because it's an hour later on both ends compared to a lot of places. Both Check-in and Check-out took less than 5 minutes, and everything went smoothly. Room was a standard double for me, and was perfectly acceptable. Decorations are nice but not too loud; just the right touch of personality without being too aggressive. Played off the music theme of Nashville. Nice clean sheets, tons of overstuffed pillows, sterilized remote, a set of 2 lovely robes for lounging, and plenty of towels. Could have used plushier towels, but that's just me being super picky! Fiji waters in the room are (to be expected) super expensive. However, if you want a water bottle (or 2), just go grab some of the complimentary ones in the gym. Gym was a little yucky - super humid with low ceilings - but all the equipment (3 treadmills, 4 ellipticals, weights) worked great and I had nothing else to complain about. Was able to get a good workout in just fine. Probably the only aspect I could legitimately say I wasn't 5/5 stars happy with. Shampoo/Conditioner were both really good. I have an SLS skin allergy (super annoying, because it's in almost everything), so I usually have to avoid hotel-provided shampoos since cheap ones inevitable have sulfates in them, but props to Loews! None to be found! Didn't use the bars since they had no ingredients listed and I didn't want to risk it. Customer service was top-notch. At check-in, they asked if I would prefer text or phone contact, and I said "text". The gentleman who checked me in (Kris, who was also easy on the eyes!) texted within a few minutes to check whether I was happy with my room (screenshot provided). I replied that I was, and he responded again not even a minute later. Later that night, I was able to text the staff and set up a wake-up call for the next morning, all just through text. LOVE this aspect! Way to keep up with the times, Loews! Maids were also sweet in letting me take 30 minutes to myself during my lunch break and came back to make-up my room. The ballroom and reception area used for work meetings was beautiful. Food was incredible, and staff was FANTASTIC throughout meals/drinks/receptions. Overall 5/5 and will 100% next time I return to Nashville! Thanks Loews Vanderbilt, and please thank you fantastic staff!

Yelp
This hotel was kind of disappointing. The customer service tone could definitely use some work - the lady was just cold. More disapointing was the room. In an era where most 4 star hotels have walk in showers, a tub/shower combo was kind of a bummer. But then the cleanliness and overall construction of the hotel was worse. There was a dirty sock under the bed. Not mine. The paint job was all over the place. Water damage in the restroom. Felt more like a glorified motel than a hotel. The parking fee is also kind of egregious given that this was not exactly in the city center. Just all around disappointing. Someone said this place went from luxury to downhill FAST and he's not wrong.
