Where to Eat Along Virginia’s Scenic Skyline Drive | Eater DC

"Quaint and just 15 minutes from the Swift Run Gap entrance, this actual historical log cabin feels like exactly where you should tackle ample platters of smoky barbecue, from a mountain of ribs to a pile of hickory-smoked pulled pork." - Stephanie Ganz

Walking in there's a sign to seat yourself, which is fine, but slightly unexpected. Within a minute of being seated the waitress welcomed us and took our drink order. She came back shortly and took our food order as well. I asked a few questions about their food and found out the following; they don't make their own french fries or hush puppies (which I ordered anyway), and I asked about their beans but they taste like they're from a can. I ordered the beef BBQ plate on a Kaiser roll with hush puppies and baked beans and another in my party order the BBQ chicken with fries and apple sauce. When my food arrived it was served on a 3 way Styrofoam plate with the BBQ on a regular burger bun. They served the hush puppies with non dairy whipped spread and when I asked for butter the waitress said "that is butter" to which I retorted with the fact that it's soybean spread and non dairy so it cannot be butter. The hush puppies, though store bought, tasted good, the beans were a little sweet and tasted canned. The BBQ beef actually tasted pretty good, a little too sweet but still good. Overall in a pinch this place can maybe satisfy simple needs but I wouldn't return unless there was nothing else open.

Decent value for the sample platter. Generous half-slab compared to a lot of places. Sauce is brown-sugar based, or you can get true NC style (aka vinegar). Those of you who like a mustard base may be disappointed. I found it passable and good for what it was. Beans and hush puppies were good. Pulled pork was decent (I prefer Alabama style and more smoke). Rib meat was really good and tender. The tea was good and tasty. Service was friendly, professional, and excellent.

Great food, always busy but if you catch them at the right time you can get to go food without much of a wait and take it home. Pulled pork was good, pulled beef was great

Google
I think this restaurant only gets customers due to folks not knowing what BBQ is, or (most likely) that this place is close to the resort for out of town folks. That said, this place is quaint, and the staff is friendly, but the food is just not BBQ, ribs are oven baked, the "sausage" is really just like a hot dog, the pulled pork and chicken is dry. Sides are standard, but nothing that helps the main dishes. We saw other reviews stating similar opinions, but gave the place the benefit of the doubt, sad to say they were right.

Google
Cool place. We got takeout and it was delicious. Great option for this staying at Massanutten. Resort restaurants are not great and pretty expensive. Get some takeout from this place and chill at your room.

Delicious food! Took a chance on a local restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised. Prices were fair, place was clean, server was great. Worth the stop.

Google
We grabbed take Out to bring to the lavender farm. It was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be making a stop next time I’m in the area. Also the staff was super super sweet and welcoming! The potato salad was my favorite!

Really good food especially the ribs. Had to be one of the best I've had in a while. Service was really friendly and loved the aesthetic around the inside.

Yelp
I love the Log Cabin Barbecue! I love the warm and inviting decor of the dining room and the music that they play. I have been eating here for the past 20 years. The service has always been impeccable! The food always comes out fast , hot and delicious! It is always consistently good. My favorite is the North Carolina pulled pork bbq sandwich with their yummy potato salad that is savory rather than sweet. I have had their brisket and many of their sides. It's all very good. Unfortunately, I did not come here for several years because of all the family drama. The original Log cabin was supposedly sold to family relatives. I ate at the Log Cabin food truck one day in Harrisonburg and the woman bad mouthed the new family owners of the Log Cabin in Elkton. She said terrible things about the food, etc. I am so glad I decided to try it again. The food is just how I remember it! Delicious!! This is a local favorite spot that does a tremendous amount of business in ToGo orders. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
A significant portion of my family (9 of us) had an early dinner at the Log Cabin Barbecue. We arrived shortly after 4:00 on a Saturday. Even with our group size we were promptly seated. Overall the restaurant is quite inviting even if it isn't much to look at from the outside. Our waitress was fantastic. Friendly and attentive! I had the BBQ Beef with fries and hush puppies. I enjoyed my meal, I just wish there was more meat. Everyone in our group devoured their meals. I had one of the ribs my wife ordered and there was a lot of meat on the bone/very tasty. I would definitely recommend the Log Cabin Barbecue. A+ service, and tasty food. Definitely a must visit in the Shenandoah Region.

Yelp
We grabbed food while visiting a local resort from out of town. The family meal was a great value for the price. My family shared the North Carolina BBQ, mac and cheese, potato salad, and green beans. The hushpuppies were fried to perfection. Their potato salad was different than others, but DELICIOUS! The star of the show was the fried pickles. Will definitely be stopping back in the next time in town.

Yelp
The food is very good! Here on vacation. All 3 of us enjoyed our dinners. We had the original pulled pork bbq. Mac and cheese and baked beans. Yummy! Filling. Service was good. Don't let the place turn you away. It does seem like a dive but the food is good! Worth a try. Prices were reasonable also.

Yelp
If I could leave zero stars I would. Me and my husband had the worst experience. We walked in and there were 2 tables open but they were dirty so we waiting for one to be cleaned and the server told us were to sit. So we went to our table and waited and waited and waited. After about 15 minutes someone came to our table she went ahead and took our drink and food order at the same time. After that we waited some more, after she took our order we waited another 15 - 20 minutes to receive our drinks. We both ordered tea and when they were dropped off they had absolutely no ice in them so we were drinking warm tea. Every time she passed our table she didn't even acknowledge us. After waiting a total of about an hour we finally got our food and of course our appetizer came out with our entrees and all we ordered for an appetizer was a basket of fries so for them to take that long is absolutely ridiculous. We were so upset we asked for Togo boxes, when my husband went to pay she asked how everything was and he told her it took to long, she had the audacity to say they were busy. A small restaurant that holds maybe 10 tables can't be that busy especially when the food is precooked. As someone who has been in the service industry for 12 years and is still currently working in a restaurant that was absurd no accountability or anything. Disgusting and disappointing

Yelp
if I could rate this place a 10 I would. Food was absolutely amazing!!! yummy Service was amazing too!! will definitely come back when we visit the area

Yelp
This is a great little place! Nice and cozy place to get delicious barbecue. We tried the rib, smoked sausage, and original pulled pork and all of it was great. The baked beans were delicious as well. We had the best server, she seemed genuinely interested in serving us and making our visit pleasurable.

Yelp
Consistently good. Keeps us coming back. This is our 4th time vacationing in the area, and our 4th time the family demanded we eat here. And you know what? The plasticware & disposable plates makes you feel more at ease in this Covid crazy time we are living in. Just dang good BBQ here. And awesome icecream. Eat, enjoy, go. Great for takeout too.

Yelp
I'm not sure what happened, but the beloved Log Cabin BBQ is now called the 1835 Smokehouse-- at least temporarily it sounds like. But not to freight, we can confirm that it's just as good! The inside is clean and looks newly updated. The menu has everything from appetizers, to salads, to the main event, barbecue! Our table started with the fried pickles and smokehouse pork fries. Our server let us know ahead of time that their fried pickles are a little peculiar-- instead of chips or spears, they're more like actual fries. But sooo good! The cheese fries were also a huge hit. We all got sandwiches of some sort-- either the South Carolina or North Carolina. The SC came with a mustard-based sauce which had some tang to it. We also received extra on the side. The sides we got like the potato salad and hushpuppies were good, though we didn't care much for the coleslaw. Might be personal preference! All in all, a trip to Massanutten is not complete without a trip down the hill to the best barbecue place in the area!! Definitely worth a try!

Yelp
Greeting my fellow Yelper's! So ended up coming to this restaurant with members of my church and it turned out to be pretty good. The only hiccup some of us ran into was when our waiter brought us something entirely different from what we had originally ordered and did. It tell us. Therefore, I highly encourage everyone to advise the young waiters at this place to let their guest know ahead of time, what's available to eat and what's not? That way there is no confusion when ordering. Especially on the sampler platter. I was under the impression that it was supposed to serve 3 meats when in reality, it was only a total of two. Other than that the ribs and beef brisket was nicely smothered in a smoke finish. As I like to say, "Not too shabby." ‍

Yelp
Two of us enjoyed the tomato-based BBQ sandwich and one of us found the mustard-based BBQ to be very good (although in sharing a bit, not everyone liked the latter). The sandwich rolls got a bit soggy so two of us just ate the pulled pork inside. Very friendly service. The name of this establishment seems now to be The 1835 Smokehouse.

Yelp
You know it isn't authentic bbq when you can't smell smoke anywhere. Although the staff were nice, they were just kids with good manners. Bbq pork and beef seemed pre made along with the add on sides. Don't let the name fool you, it isn't real bbq. Texans and those with higher standards beware.
google avatar

Candace K.

Yelp
We got both types of BBQ, the North Carolina pork BBQ sandwich with Mac and cheese and the original pork BBQ sandwich with fries and a side of half (6) hush puppies. The prices were very reasonable, the service was good and the food was delicious. The NC BBQ reminded us more of Smithfield BBQ but was still good. The original BBQ kinda tasted like the sloppy joe flavors but was also good. The hush puppies were the best. Even thought about getting some to go. Both sides (Mac and cheese & fries) were pretty standard, nothing to call home about.

Yelp
This place was recommended by a local. Decided to give it a try since the person raved about it. It's a very small little quaint place. The food exceeded my expectations. I liked every single thing we ordered. The corn muffins were sweet and freshly baked, the baked beans were great and the ribs were fall off the bone! The Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty too. The pulled pork and beef were flavorful and had the perfect amount of sauce. The service was good and the bathrooms were newly renovated and clean. I would definitely recommend this place to someone who likes good bbq!

Yelp
I was incredibly disappointed with just about everything about this establishment. I was hoping to get a taste of the local barbecuing scene, however was sorely let down. To begin, upon walking in we were not greeted, but instead the servers squabbled in front of us over who would have to take our table. As a server myself, this was appalling and extremely upsetting. My group of four, found our way over to a table and it took 10 minutes for our drink orders to be taken. We ordered two appetizer to start with, both of which were decent- with the fried pickles being the most satisfying thing I ate during the whole experience. The entrees were presented and my table was quiet. The BBQ nachos were something that could have been found ball game. The 20 dollar sampler platter was insultingly small. With all of meat being dry and semi-flavorless unless doused with BBQ sauce. Me and my spouse ordered the pork platter and it was about a cup of meat, a roll(obviously store bought), about 3 oz. of Mac and Cheese in a paper shot glass. And lastly, I was most excited for the apple sauce. Coming from the Carolinas, BBQ places generally serve warm in house made apple sauce. However, I was presented with a shot glass worth of mots apple sauce. As a fairly stoic fellow, this made me want to start crying. It was legitimately the only thing I was looking forward too. The food was generally flavorless, the meat was dry especially the ribs, which were poorly cut. And the side were lack luster. Not even in a funny way the shining star of this meal was a shot glass worth of potato salad. The bill came out to 60$, and it was nearly insulting to be presented with it. Of course it was paid in full and nothing was said to the servers other than "the food was alright, thanks". Truthfully, I felt as though my money would have been better spent at McDonald's. I usually do not leave reviews but I found the service, and food to be disturbing enough that it should be shared. atmosphere was alright.

Yelp
After a decent road trip and an extended check in process and experience my family and I were absolutely famished when we stopped into log cabin barbecue. The smell emanating from the kitchen was absolutely enticing! I don't too often eat red meat, So my taste buds were ready for a novelty barbecue experience. I can say that the sauce was savory and delicious. I wasn't very fond of the potato salad and switched it out for french fries. The ribs were tender although they could have been seasoned better for my taste. They were out of fried pickles but that's pretty understandable seeing as how COVID has brought inventory challenges for a lot of establishments. All in all I was a little underwhelmed but the place isn't bad.

Yelp
This place was absolutely amazing! We stopped here after our visit to Shenandoah National Park/Luray Caverns. It was some of our favorite food on our trip! All of the servers were so friendly and helpful, and our food came out SO fast. It was all delicious. I had the Pork BBQ with a side of hush puppies and mac and cheese. It was all so good. The mac and cheese was so creamy and flavorful, the hush puppies were done perfectly (crispy on the outside, soft on the inside), and lastly the pork BBQ rivaled the bbq I had when I was in Texas. You will not regret checking this gem out!

Yelp
For COVID, there is outdoor seating and distances indoor seating. The service was good and the food even better. My BBQ pulled pork nachos were delicious.

Yelp
I went here for lunch today and was VERY DISAPPOINTED. We ordered the combo platter which consisted on Ribs, St. Louis Style and Chicken Breast. Well, the Ribs had no flavor and the chicken looked like it was a frozen chicken breast, like you get in the dorm at college. One would assume that a barbecue chicken breast would be a Breast with bones cooked on a grill; this chicken looked like it was microwaved and had no taste. This was the worst imitation of Barbecue that I have ever seen. To make matters worse, no manager came over to ask what was wrong when we took 2bites and asked for the check after commenting that we thought the chicken was going to be "real chicken breast" cooked on a charcoal grill. Highlight, the server was polite. I made my donation to the Virginia economy because I left the log cabin hungry and dissatisfied. Not a place I would recommend for a meal.

Yelp
THEY'RE BACK AND OPEN AGAIN!!!!!! And just as tasty as before!!! I got the Loaded Nachos for lunch today and they DID NOT disappoint! Run, don't walk, to enjoy some amazing food when you're int he area!!!!

Yelp
BEST BBQ IN VIRGINIA! It's very hard to find pulled beef (brisket), but they have it and gosh do they do it well! It's perfectly seasoned and tender. They also have amazing baked beans. I've tried a lot of bbq in VA and NC, but Log Cabin is truly the best! Very reasonable prices and delicious food. Definitely worth the drive!!
google avatar

Alvin B.

Yelp
The best deal in the Massanutten area. The barbecue sandwiches and platters are delicious and the prices are as inexpensive as you will find. And you never have to wait long for the food to get to your table. Or do carry out and take it home with you. Friendly and polite service. Why wouldn't you eat here?
google avatar

Allison R.

Yelp
Closest thing to real Eastern Carolina barbecue in Virginia! Delicious vinegar based sauce. Hush puppies and potato salad are pretty darn good too. Their South Carolina style barbecue is also a treat (mustard based sauce) if you don't care for tomato type sauces.

Yelp
Came down to have dinner with our niece who is attending JMU. Decided to venture out from the usual suspects in Downtown Harrisonburg. We were craving barbecue and decided on Log Cabin. I always try to keep an open mind when it comes to BBQ joints, but when we arrived and got out of the car, I took that first breath in, and yet no evidence of any type of animal being smoked in any capacity, my opinion started to decline right there. Walked in and was kinda confused, do we order and take a seat, or what? Finally asked and they sat us in a booth. Looked at the menu and turned it over thinking there'd be more, nope that was it. I guess that should make it easier right? Now, the one shining quality this place has going for it is the service. Friendly, attentive, all around good natured. So the food: Appetizer- Fried Pickles Actually NOT BAD. They get the batter right to where it's not too much and tastes funky with too much batter. It had a good crisp and crunch to it. Just be forewarned to let them sit and cook before eating them, because it's like you're biting into a fried stick of lava. Meals: North Carolina Pulled Pork (w Mac n Cheese and Potato Salad) It was just weird. I get the vinegar aspect of NC sauce, but the pork just wasn't what you would normally expect from pulled pork. The sides were mediocre too. I actually addled bbq sauce to kick up the flavor. Full Rack of Ribs- Yeah, I don't know, dry rubbed, but so much wrong with the overall. They could've been trimmed better. Left of the rib tips, and just lots of extra left to have to pick through while eating them. And the roll that came with it, pass on that too. Corn Muffins- These were surprisingly good. Presentation- The styrofoam plates and plastic utensils, I get it, easy clean up, but I can only imagine the amount of trash and waste this place must go through in a week. I was struggling to see where some of these reviews claim that the actual BBQ is "Awesome" or "the best they've ever had." Seriously?!? How low are your standards and expectations? All in all. The 2 out of 5 goes for the Great Service, and 2 non -bbq food options tried. You should just drive up to Harrisonburg. It's just 13 miles further up. Your tastebuds will thank you.

Yelp
Great lunch special of a pulled pork sandwich. Nice server and very clean and attractive dining area.
google avatar

Yelp
Great barbecue. If you like vinegar get the Louisiana BBQ but if you like sweet barbecue get the original sauce. My husband and I loved it. The pork and baked bean nachos were fantastic also! Polite and clean atmosphere. We will be back..

Yelp
Very good BBQ. Love the chili and cheese Dog. Carolina pulled pork is on point. Waitress was very friendly and service was fast.
google avatar

Yelp
Sorry but don't bother. Warm not hot, tasted old, like made the day before bbq. Came recommended but I have to say, DON'T. BBQ is not as easy to do right as some think.

Yelp
Name has been changed but it is still just a mediocre barbecue place. Service was ok and they had a pretty good crowd. Food was ok but I wouldn't go back again.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
BBQ is good Carolina style. Sloppy on the takeout though. Spent $60 on 4 entrees and got 1 tiny sauce (maybe 2 tablespoons worth of sauce). Meats were not sauced at all (which is fine, even preferred, but then you need sauce on the side). Just isn't bbq without sauce. So wasted $60
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
Best Carolina style BBQ around! We also love the sides! Get the Carolina plate on a Kaiser with slaw and pick two sides...delicious!
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Tasty, cheap, filling. Surprisingly, the best thing on the menu was their chicken tenders! Large and homemade, crispy and moist. Their ice cream is also legit. Good value, nice service, and no wait to be seated. Sat our party of 8 without a problem. A really great option for those staying in Massanutten resort! Nothing fancy (all disposable cutlery and plates).
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
When we went they were short staffed but we couldn't even eat our food it wasn't good at all. The bbq was too vinegary the hush puppies were burnt and the coleslaw was watery. Don't waste your time!
google avatar

Joan M.

Yelp
Wow. They weren't open when we came here Sunday. Food is good as they reopened tonight.
google avatar

Jason A.

Yelp
It's okay. It's not amazing BBQ. Everything is really average. If someone wanted to eat there I would, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
We are from Texas, so BBQ can be rather touchy. Without being BBQ snobs, the ribs are ok. Wife said the Ice cream was good. Supposedly home made. I did not see a smoker, but they claim smoked & pulled on property. Will give them benefit of the doubt
google avatar

Jane R.

Yelp
Loved this place! Excellent excellent BBQ - we went for Carolina version with the vinegar based sauce: a party pack for 4 people and a rack of ribs but more than enough for next day too. Everything for amazing. Wish we lived nearer and could go more often.
google avatar

Tucker H.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place more, and it may be that after a week of awesome barbecue in the heart of NC my expectations were just too high, but I was disappointed in the food (the service was awesome though). I tried the NC barbecue plate, with cole slaw and hush puppies (really the only acceptable sides for chopped pork in my humble opinion). The cole slaw was good, but the side of hush puppies was three of them, and they were a little under-cooked. The chopped pork had good texture, but it seemed like it had been dried out during the cooking and then doused in sauce to try to make up for it. The sauce was a reasonable NC-style vinegar based sauce; while it was tasty, it wasn't going to be able to cover the dryness of the meat like a KC-style sauce would have. The service and sweet tea were outstanding, and the other reviews so positive that I would probably give this place another chance if I am in the area, but I'm not going to be driving down to Elkton just for another visit.

Yelp
Without a doubt the worst restaurant I've been to in many, many years. It being a cold rainy night we decided to stay local, bad mistake. The atmosphere was dingy and cold. It was as cold inside as the weather outside. But we decided to stay, ordered the full rack of ribs ($24.99) with baked beans and seasoned fries. My wife ordered 1/2 rack of ribs with coleslaw and beans. Food came out rather quickly to our surprise they were on Styrofoam plates and (honestly) cheap plastic ware - this is probably the reason everything but the beans were cold. The ribs were very, very tough and very fatty, they were sloppy to the point of slipping out of my hands. Went through probably 50 napkins. We had to ask for a basket to put the bones. Could not cut the ribs with the cheap plastic knife, so tried pulling them apart - very differcult. To add insult to injury when I went to the bathroom to clean up there was no hot water just ice cold water came out. The meal ended up costing over $50 - lesson learned always read reviews when going to a restaurant for the first time. Almost forgot the small tasteless corn muffin cost .75, it fell apart as my wife took a bite out of it.

Yelp
Very quaint place. It was near the Massanutten resort. Stopped in for a quick bite. I had the original pork dinner plate as a sandwich with fries and hushpuppies. My sister had the beef dinner plate and my brother-in-law had the ribs. We were all happy with our selections. I prefer the pork over the beef. If you are in the area, you should stop by.
google avatar

Gabby B.

Yelp
COVID or not, this place dropped the ball during our visit. My friends and I all ordered pulled pork platters, with the exception of my boyfriend who got ribs. The food took well over an hour to arrive at our table. We did not receive forks and when we asked the server for silverware and BBQ sauce he came back with only the sauce. When we asked for forks a second time he never came back and our waitress eventually provided silverware. The meat is definitely NOT SMOKED. The ribs were gray and tasted like artificial sweetener. The pulled pork was like what your mom makes in the slow cooker. We assumed they ran out of food and had to whip something up on the fly or went to the local grocery store for some pre-made pulled pork. Please, if you are unable to accommodate your patrons do us a favor and close for the day. Feels like we wasted both our time and our money.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
With parents living near Elkton, Log Cabin is an easy place to pick up food. Our family does a good job covering the menu. My personal favorite is the Carolina style BBQ. The baked beans are my favorite side. My father always gets a full rack of ribs. It's a large portion. I think the ribs are slightly overpriced, but the rest is reasonable. We haven't ate in before so I can't comment on that aspect. The service at the register is always pleasant.
google avatar

Sarou C.

Yelp
Came in for a light lunch. Hubby and I decided to share the sampler platter which came with pulled pork and ribs with 2 sides. Hubbs ate the pulled pork with the north Carolina style sauce which was a sour sauce and the sandwich came with cole slaw. He tore his up. He's not hard to impress. I ate the ribs and we shared the two sides. The ribs were falling off the bone but it was like.. wet? not sauced but wet.. I don't even know how to really describe it. It wasn't good, I've made ribs better at home. The sides- eh, green beans were straight from the can. Waitress said they were seasoned but I didn't taste any seasoning. The mac and cheese tasted like stouffers (nothing wrong with stouffers) but it tasted like that just added more cheese to stouffers mac and cheese and served it. Probably wouldn't come back.
google avatar

Tom T.

Yelp
The ribs were moist, but obviously boiled, thus causing them to lose a lot of flavor. The hush puppies were awesome. The wait staff were very friendly. Pulled pork was good too. The "sandich" listed as "sausage" isn't a sandwich, but it's not bad...could use some bread though. All in all, not a bad place to eat, but not anything to write home about. Also...why can't we have plates when we eat in? Styrofoam plates and cups accompanied by plastic knives and forks isn't too welcoming.

Yelp
Within sight of the Massanutten Resort Rd entrance, this cozy no-frills atmosphere offers decent food for a good price. We dined here in the off-season, so it wasn't too crowded, but the menu was small enough that the kitchen should be able to keep up with mass crowds of vacationers. My beef BBQ and Sausage Platter (waitress merged the two individual plates at my request, thank you!) was pretty good for $7.99 and included two sides, my options were green beans and mac-n-cheese, plus either a kaiser or dinner roll. The kaiser roll was a little dry, but tasted great with the beef BBQ. My wife's Pork Platter with baked beans and mac-n-cheese was delicious as well, but the dinner roll might have caused some damage in a food fight. Her sweet tea was well-balanced and within acceptable limits, not the lazy "diabetes in a cup" approach others take. Even with the throw-away picnic plates, we really enjoyed our visit here. Our cashier (owner?) and waitress were friendly; I wish this place every success!

Amy C.

Yelp
We had dinner here last night and it was great. There was no wait which was great because we were coming from Massanutten resort where everything was packed. My husband and I got the pulled pork (one with vinegar sauce and one with tomato). The tomato sauce was great. The potato salad side was also the best we had ever had. Our kids got the kids meals of mini corn dogs and chicken tenders. Nothing special but it did come with ice cream for a great price. The best part of this place was the service. There were 2 young guys (prob high school) serving the restaurant, tag team style and it was the best service we have had in ages. The servers were incredibly polite and attentive.

Yelp
The NC style barbecue was very tasty however portions were very small considering the high price. Servers friendly very country style decor

Yelp
The ribs were fall off the bone tender. However, the smoke was minimal and the dry rub was hard to taste. Luckily there was both Eastern North Carolina sauce (vinegar-based with seasonings) as well as tomato-based BBQ sauce. I mixed the two to get a tangy, spicy sauce that nicely accentuated the meaty wonderfulness that is a good rib. I really wanted to say great things about such a cute place but I found them lacking. Are they good ribs? Sure, but not "the best in the valley" nor even standout, but it is good. If you want to try something unique, try the BBQ Nachos. Tortilla chips with baked beans, shredded pork (choice of Eastern North Carolina or tomato-based), jalapenos, cheese, sour cream, and salsa. Quite tasty and fun.

We came here at our stay at the local resort and were not disappointed. Helthyish size portions. Good sauce. Good Mac n cheese. Ok aesthetic. No complaints.
