This is a hotel of two halves - good food, poor accommodation. Check in was friendly but on seeing the 'superior' room we were allocated I was ready to drive off elsewhere. It was on the first floor of a block overlooking the river with a small window letting in little light, dark, depressing and with a strange odour. If this was a superior room I dread to think what a lower category looks like. There was a redecorated room available in the main Auberge which was acceptable so we ended up staying. This room didn't have a shower, only a bath, had no milk for coffee despite having coffee sachets and was situated next to a road bridge crossing the river so was noisy with the window open on a hot night other than in the dead of night. We had dinner on the Terrace and in fairness, dismissing the mediocre service, the food was very good. Starters of regional produce and 'Magret' cooked pink both hit there spot and with a few bottles of Provence rose, we spent an enjoyable few hours dining riverside. Despite the good food and the delightful location alongside the river, we wouldn't return as the standard of accommodation leaves a lot to be desired.
