Logis Hôtel Auberge de la Rivière

We were recommended this hotel as a stopover on our drive to the Dordogne and it was excellent, the location, service etc. we Uber that it was in the village and planned to look around and have food but then found out it was 12 km away so opted for dinner in the restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good, but I think it lacked something. The muse bouche was interesting but needed more seasoning as it was quite bland. My partner had the snails and although tasty they were rather small. The fillet was nice, but there was very little difference between my medium to his blue steak, which meant I struggled to eat mine. It would have been nice to see a few more options on the al a crate menu, but being small I suppose that isn’t possible. The accommodation was good for the price, though quite cold so we asked if there was any heating. Other than that it was a lovely stay.

Just lovely, highly recommended. Peaceful location. Excellent breakfast and stunningly good evening meal.

Beautifully situated, friendly staff and wonderful food. We were looking for a hotel between the port and the friends we were visiting but the hotel was above expectations in all respects. Hope to stay there again soon.

Very nice and lovely place to stay! It was very calm, beautiful and wonderful with nature around and birds' songs outside the window 😍 hosts are friendly, room itself was good too: big shower and comfortable bed 👍🏻 breakfast was tasty! Would like to return here again! p.s. You can eat in hotel's restaurant but if you want to eat somewhere outside, for sure I'd recommend to book in advance, because even in low-season month on Saturday evening restaurants around were full

A fantastic place to stay and eat. We stayed in a room with a lovely, peaceful view of the river. We ate in the evening and chose the set menu of surprise dishes. This comprised of nine freshly cooked dishes, starters, mains and puddings. We enjoyed vegetables, three types of fish, duck and two delicious puddings. There was plenty of bread and we chose a lovely Rose to go with it. The dishes were tasters but because we sampled nine dishes we were very full!! The staff there were lovely and very welcoming and helpful. I thoroughly recommend staying and eating there. We also ate a brilliant breakfast the following morning. Great choices, fresh food and plenty to choose from. 😊

This is certainly one of the best restaurants in the area. It is possible to choose between a tasting menu and a la carte options. This offers great value for money. The food is absolutely delicious, the service and the location are also excellent.

Lovely setting, very quiet and peaceful, right by the river. Room was clean, very comfortable with a view of the river. Rooms with a terrace are available but we were only staying one night, so didn’t bother. Wi-fi worked. The only slight criticism would be that the food, although delicious, was quite expensive, maybe a sign of the times currently.

A delightful setting alongside the river. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed a splendid meal in the evening. However the breakfast was disappointing. There was a bowl of fresh fruit which was actually mouldy! Such a shame after the previous evening.
