"Tradition takes pride of place here in this establishment surrounded by vineyards, which is run as a family affair. Father and son (Lucas, who has worked in some prestigious restaurants) work together, their cooking underpinned by an ambition to reinterpret the terroir of Alsace. You can enjoy veal filet mignon with morels, and themed menus (mainly in winter). A warm welcome and attentive service, plus guestrooms." - Michelin Inspector

Excellent hotel, exceeded my expectations...wonderful food Saturday night. An interesting mis en bouche with a local cheese veloute, Salmon and beetroot starter followed by steak and local vegetables. Peach melba disappointed in comparison to the other courses.. |Breakfast was fine, quality rather than range.. so great kugelhopf (?) And you could boil your own eggs..|Great location for the vin d'alsace route. Only wished we'd chosen a second night with half board as on Sunday had to fend for ourselves ( OK gazpacho and roasted duck in Colmar.. but not up to these standards.)|Beds must have been replaced since comments below as I'm a very fussy sleeper and had 2 good nights sleep.|Decor is " traditional " but I'm on holiday...so nice to be somewhere different and authentic.

We spent a nice and quiet night at this hotel in one of the less expensive rooms (main building, 3rd floor, accessible only through stairs; no elevator). Our room had a remodeled bath room and a very nice mountain-view. Designs a little outdated - floors are covered with low-pile-carpets. But well maintained. Small TV with also international channels. Plenty of free parking space. Very friendly reception, which was responsive to our needs. Nice and clean indoor pool. Towels provided but you have to shower in your room. The Michelin-listed restaurant offered a choice, limited to two menus, focussing on quality instead of quantity. Good breakfast with an outstanding home made Gugelhupf (cake).

Away from the main tourist villages this hotel offers nice and clean rooms, friendly staff and excellent service. The food is the highlight here, it is outstanding and one of the best values in Alsace. Fine dining with a strong Alsatian influence.

A rare find, excellent, simple food put together with balance and thought, and a nice room to stay in. Highly recommended. The auberge’s exterior, on a roundabout on the edge of town, belies the warm family welcome we got when we got there. We had the chef’s suggestion which was a light, simple and delicious three course meal. The room was simple and spacious, and breakfast was fresh and varied. Highly recommend.

We stayed as 3 retired friends in this Auberge||in May 2019.Although it is located at the||outskirts of a rather dull village without any||touristic interest, it's good cuisine at low price||makes it a very interesting place to stay as the ||famous "route du vin" can be reached by car||within minutes!! A highly reputated touristic guide also had a positive opinion about the food. Prices are very moderate.||Extensive interesting wine list. Efficient and ||friendly Service.||We stayed in an annex at the back of the Hotel||where the rooms are spacious, large terrasse with||a view on vineyards . Fridge, hair dryer and safe in the room with flat screen TV. A large swimming pool is at your disposition in this building.Since May 2019||all rooms in the annex have air conditioning!!||Breakfast is not included, but 10.50 Euros is||an interesting price for a good quality eye||opener!! We paid 78 Euros for the room.||Hotel very recommended if your budget is||restricted, you nevertheless want delicious||food and don't absolutely need to sleep in||the most visited touristic places of Alsace.

We booked for the overnight but discovered an excellent restaurant! We didn't take too much time to get to know the staff but they were very attentive and helpful to others who were staying there and had had car problems. The dinner was excellent and was included in the half pension which we had forgotten that we'd reserved. A mousse de poison, followed by stuffed quail were initial delights which were topped by a fresh forest fruit crème brulée served with a scoop of the best strawberry sorbet we've ever tasted.

Basically a gourmet restaurant with rooms. We spent a lovely gourmet weekend there tasting exquisite cuisine accompanied by fabulous Rittersberg Wines from the Jean Paul Schmitt winery. 5 courses, each with it's own wine! Thank goodness the rooms were located in the same building and we didn't have to go anywhere after that! The hotel regularly features gourmet weekends where a special menu with it's appropriate wines from a selected winery is served. ||||The hotel is located at the end of the town of Scherwiller in Alsace in a quiet located. My room under the eaves had a view of some vineyards. It was quite small with sloping ceilings but nicely furnished, impeccably clean, comfy beds and lots of hot water with decent pressure in the shower. ||||My double room for single use including 5-course gourmet dinner with wines as well as breakfast cost only EUR 130.- - BARGAIN!||||The lovely hosts go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. Although the restarnat is of the highest level, there is no food snobbery here. Can't wait to go back around Christmas time when the Christmas markets are in full swing in Alsace.

First visit for a business trip to the region, and found my stay to be extremely pleasant, with a team of staff very happy to help and assist guests.||I arrived late in the evening to check-in, and was delighted they were still serving evening dinner after a long journey and meetings throughout the day.||The food I must say was outstanding! How this is not a Michelin star restaurant is beyond me. The presentation, quality, and experience of the dinner was exceptional with a exemplary service.||The room was not great and very kitsch in design and basic. If it were not for the slightly below standard room I would have given full marks. The beds are far too low with a wafer thin mattress, and considering most clients are mature adults this is very uncomfortable. They also looked very old and not the cleanest I've seen by far. ||The TV selection is limited with not one English speaking channel which was a shame. I would have been happy with just a news channel like BBC World News or Sky News. || I would recommend beds are upgraded, TV satellite to include at least one English Channel, and lastly, to install a mini-bar, and even perhaps a vending machine in the corridors. The town is in the middle of nowhere so other than when you eat for dinner there is nothing else available should you wish to drink or get a snack or even a chocolate late in the evening/night. ||Nonetheless as I say the restaurant and customer service from the staff is faultless, and if you're staying for a day you or two you will not find better unless you get more into town.
