Du Moulin

"The wood-burning fire in the cosy sitting room is the epitome of an Ardennes inn. This nostalgic charm is enhanced by the classical cooking of Jean Goire, who brooks no concessions. He pays tribute to his region, working closely with carefully selected suppliers. His culinary expertise unveils a deep-rooted respect and steadfast commitment to flavours that are gutsy, rustic and traditional to the core." - Michelin Inspector

I went to the SPA Francorchamps circuit for a race weekend and the prices around there are crazy. This hotel was a compromise between cost and position relative to the race track. I arrived quite late in the night and no problems for the checkin occurred. They treat you as a family member, very nice feeling being abroad in a lonely place. The first day I was in the room n.1 at ground floor. It was very nicely equipped and large enough to be like a junior suite. I felt the compromise between the renewing cost and the aestethic results; I can confirm the goal was reached, nice job overall, even though there’re some small details to fix to be complete. The day 2 I was moved to an other room at floor 1, due to some necessities. That room was quite a mess honestly, small and with some non sense things (like automatic light in the bath that keeps going to off while you’re having shower, of the sliding bathroom door that do not closes entirely, etc. A part of this, the good news is that the breakfast is very very good. Maybe there’s not so much food variety but the quality is very high. Great job! An other thing I loved has been the overall furniture of the hotel, I felt quite relaxed.

Great hotel, authentic and beautiful. Food & service above expectations, brilliant actually. Both owners and the head waiter speak four languages (French, German, English and Dutch) and make sure you feel welcome. The menu is small (as it should be) and the food is extremely good. Fresh, beautiful presentation, delicious and the portions are exactly right. As if that isn't enough to warrant the five stars, the location and surroundings are beyond excellent. I bet they pay their gardener as much as their head chef!

Very rude staff. Was here 2 years ago and just noticed that Google blocked my review. But the receptionist was using swear words to refer to us when asked for an extra blanket, thinking that I did not understand French.

This is hotel with very well kept rooms. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spotless. We stayed for dinner to and you get a set menu but you can choose between 3 dishes for you starter and main. The dishes were very well cooked and they used quality ingredients. The dining room is luxurious. The waiter was born to do his job. Really enjoyed the breakfast too.

We booked Hotel du Moulin as a stopping point for a trip from the UK to Germany. I chose the location as I wanted to stay close to Spa and the hotel looked pleasant enough and was easy to book online.||||We arrived after a long day's traveling and found a quiet oasis in the middle of the village of Ligneuville. I suspect there were only two or three other guests n the hotel on the Sunday night we stayed there and it was very quiet indeed. The public areas were very comfortable and pleasant, while the room was furnished with good quality items and decor nice enough. The bathroom was quite dated, but everything worked fine and we enjoyed a very good night's sleep before embarking on the next phase of our journey.||||Breakfast was fabulous (see separate review for dinner, which was also first rate). Loads of different breads, preserves and all just right for us.||||The hotel has beautiful gardens and has safe parking behind, completely away from the road.||||I thought staff were pleasant and helpful and we would stay again.

We choose this hotel because we read very good reviews of its restaurant. And indeed, this is very high class. The food is outstanding and the tables are dressed beautifully dressed with white napkins, silver cutlery and Limoges Porcelan. There are only 11 rooms. The restaurant is also accessible to non residents but the restaurant is very cosy.

The hotel is situated in a small village surrounded by beautiful countryside. We stayed with friends for a weekend, and took the half-board formula. Overall we found that it was good value for money and the food served at dinner was delicious, but I have rarely seen such an expensive - and complicated - wine list. Breakfast was good. The bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms are reasonably spacious and comfortable, but we were there in cold, damp autumn weather, and the heating was neither very efficient, nor switched on for quite long enough in the evening - shame. The roaring fire in the salon downstairs in the evening was very welcome. There is plenty to do in the area - excellent walking, and interesting museums if the weather is bad.

It is always very nice to return to the Hotel du Moulin; the rooms are very comfortable and importantly the food is first class. Each evening we enjoyed a four course dinner with wine provided by Jean the chef who's menu selection is always varied and beautifully cooked. It is certainly very good value for money. Hope to visit again next year.
