Ximun has now taken up the mantle, serving delicious traditional cuisine, characterised by generous portions and tasty well-matured broths and jus. Riding through these mountains and stopped for lunch. A spectacular view with an even better meal. Service by the young ladies here was impeccable despite my lack of language skills. Stop and eat. The difficulty is getting started again

Stayed here for one night with my wife on a motorbike trip, we won’t discuss the route up and down to the hotel as that was quite scary for her‼️😆 However the hotel itself, superb… staff can’t do enough for you, the restaurant… well, how that’s not a Michelin star minimum is beyond me we like our food and that was one of the best taster menus we’ve ever had‼️💪👍

This is the 4th or 5th time we've used the Etchemaite for our Pyrenees cycling tour and the quality has been consistent over all these years. The hotel has recently been handed down to the next generation, if we understood correctly, but we can confirm that the new chef (Pierre's son) is great!

A smart hotel in a small pretty village - The common spaces and lounging areas are small however the reason you should stay here is because of the food! The set menu (€38) was amazing value for the quality of food.
