Logis Hôtel la Chatellenie

Only visited the restaurant which was on a family recommendation. Beautifully presented menu at €40. Nice atmosphere and good service. Dogs were allowed in the restaurant.

We chose this hotel because of its Michelin "bib gourmand" rated restaurant. We weren't disappointed by the excellent food and the room was large, clean and the bed very comfortable. In November, not surprisingly it seemed that all the other diners were individual business people staying in the hotel, this gave the restaurant a somewhat subdued atmosphere which most likely would not be the case more in season. Overall would highly recommend either to eat of eat and stay if you are in the area as the quality to cost balance is excellent.

We only visited for lunch but everywhere appeared very clean and tidy. Car parking is available just round the corner from the hotel free of charge. The staff were polite, attentive and helpful. We chose the Market Menu for our meal but we were very disappointed in the main course of Pork Curry which consisted a few large chunks of pork and baby potatoes with their skins on in a bowl of water with the tiniest hint of curry spices. Given the write ups about the chef, as local British residents we had high hopes of eating a good curry made in France but were sorely disappointed. Everything else we had was very good and presented nicely. Some of the drinks were also very expensive. Cost for lunch for 2 - splitting the bill was €73 which is very expensive compared to other restaurants. Would we eat there again? Possibly. My tip to everyone would be to check what is on the menu for the day you plan to visit as some of the previous weeks menus there was maybe only one or 2 items on the menu each of us could have eaten and we eat out regularly in the various restaurants in the area.

The interior is a bit quirky, the floors bare and uneven for example. Importantly the bathroom was of a good standard.|There was a convenient public car park nearby.|The staff were very helpful.|Good value.

We chose this hotel for its restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The menu was good value for the quality too. The rooms were large, clean and stylishly decorated whilst keeping some of the character of the building. ||Staff were always friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend and hope to return

Wonderful stay. Nice comfortable room and overwhelmingly friendly atmosphere . The meal was spectacular and sensibly and pragmatically constrained due to the chef considering fish and seafood to be problematic in terms of supply and price . The langue de boeuf course was exquisite and somewhat eclipsed the dishes we had over the next couple of days in a one star Michelin restaurant.
