Lokal at the Lake

A wonderfully peaceful Sunday light lunch. I'd passed the restaurant a few times recently and decided to cycle from the other end of Fonyód to give it a go. Super fresh tasty food. Great staff who are helpful but not intrusive. I had the non-local (!) beer, a brand (Elixir) I hadn't had for ages. Overall, perfect :) Looking forward to returning for hot dishes next time.

Very nice! An ambitious culinary concept brought to a rather simple, rural area. The meals and service were fantastic and incredibly inventive. The waiter gave us the feeling of big-city flair right in the idyllic Balaton landscape. We ordered a multi-course menu complemented by delicious cocktails. The waiter guided us through the culinary afternoon, and we felt completely at ease. A clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates fine dining at Lake Balaton.

Service and food was more than amazing. We had outstanding experience. Place has very nice and elegant design. Staff very friendly, special shout out to Orsi she recommended us very good local wine, and her food recommendation was spot on. We even ordered more food later.... it was so good. If you are looking for a nice and friendly place to eat, I totally recommend going to Lokal at the Lake.

We came by reviews on Google and had big expectations but we didn’t got what we wanted. We wanted to try something local but we got an Italian food instead, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that good, the staff were friendly but didn’t recommend anything they were just promoting their local business… They had only two options and some starters not even main dishes and nothing Hungarian, just some cookie that wasn’t tasty at all, so we were really disappointed and we paid quite a lot. But except that while we didn’t like one dish they changed it to different and removed it from the pay check, so that was nice from their side. BUT they need to change the menu and be more sincere for their clients.

Yesterday night me and my husband went to celebrate our first wedding aniversary at this restaurant and we were pretty impressed! Our server Orsi was amazing and we truly loved the recommendations, we even ordered more food as we loved it so much. The dishes were creative and really tasty. We were incredibly well treated by the staff. Thank you so much for providing us such a special night ♥️

beautiful place, very aesthetic and clean, staff were super nice and generous. the food was exceptional for a great price. everything local, with transparency about their suppliers. really great, would recommend.

Very welcoming staff, helpful and warm. We got the "after 5PM" menu while we purposely stopped here from the highway, on our 1000 km journey - based on the Google reviews. The coffee is absolutely delicious, and the food is as well - got the Pheasant soup, Mangalica potato gratin with corn, stuffed paprika, catfish filet (delicious), the watermelon quinoa taco (absolutely delicious). Highly recommended!

Superb lunch. Host was excellent and attentive. Food was varied, delicious and beautifully presented.
