As the name suggests, Lokál does in fact serve local Czech food and is a bit of a local chain in the area. It's kind of an interesting environment (which I will get into later), but the food is decent.
Food: I ordered the Pork Cutlet Schnitzel (299 CZK), which was a huge piece of fried pork cutlet along with some boiled (I think) potatoes. The pork was nicely crispy on the outside while still tender on the inside. It was certainly a good portion size of meat for the price. I wasn't a huge fan of the potatoes though, as I thought they tasted a bit plain and dry. They did offer free unlimited potatoes though in case you do happen to like them. So while the pork was good, I just felt like the plate was a little too simple and was missing a little something else to take it to the next level.
Environment: It's an interesting space, as it is like a very long hallway inside with minimal decor anywhere. I don't know if that's the kind of minimalist vibe they're going for, but especially with the high ceilings, the place just felt a bit empty and I think could have benefited from some decoration to highlight the traditional Czech nature of the restaurant. This is a popular place, so if you come at peak hours, you might have to wait a bit for a table. That being said, because the space is so large, it does not feel crowded at all even when all the tables are occupied. There is also a little pub-like area right by the entrance with a totally different vibe for drinks.
Service: The staff are pretty friendly and the service speed is quick. It's kind of strange that you have to walk all the way into the restaurant to ask one of them for an open table though.
Overall, while the environment and food here might be a bit simple/plain, I still think it's a pretty good place to go if you are looking for a casual and traditional Czech meal.
