8/29 The views of New York City are undeniably stunning, but the service left much to be desired. Our server was inattentive—I waited over 30 minutes for a cocktail, didn’t receive silverware until after the food had gone cold, and had to repeatedly flag someone down despite the restaurant not being busy. On the bright side, the oysters were very fresh, and while some appetizers felt a bit mismatched, they were decent. The lamb chops with garlic mashed potatoes were absolutely outstanding. Unfortunately, the short rib polenta was a major letdown—completely lacking in seasoning and flavor. In the end, it feels clear that what you’re really paying for here is the incredible view, rather than the overall dining experience. Update: 9/20 I came back for brunch with my son, and he declared it the best brunch he’s ever had—and trust me, my 12-year-old has an exceptional palate. The food arrived hot and in a timely manner. Our server who was amazing recommended the mimosa flight, which was absolutely worth it. The highlight, though, was the cinnamon roll French toast—it was so good I ordered another to take home. This visit was an even better experience than before, and I’d easily give it a 10/10.

Awesome time here at Lokal Bar. They have a breathtaking location in Jersey City. Service was top notch with Faith at the bar crafting some great drinks. The happy hour was great including their 3 for $35 apps. Cannot beat the view of lower Manhattan and their gorgeous bar. Must see! Thank you!

This place was absolutely gorgeous. The energy, vibe, ambiance was great. Came at the end of brunch so ordered mimosa flights. They were so good. The food and the view was also amazing. Was really a chill time and the service was definitely A1. The server wasn't doing to much. This place also has outdoor seating but it was just too windy to be outside. The old fashioned tasted just right and grabbed the steak and egg combo, which did not disappoint. I want to come back for dinner and try the dinner menu. Yes, the food varies depending on what time of day you come but I enjoyed the brunch menu. If you can find parking, good luck. I just parked in the paid parking next to it.

Lokal is at waterfront area in Jersey City. Contemporary design and modern vibes. However the service definitely falls short in this place. When we called to make reservation and requested no high top tables because of a toddler, they said: it’s first come first serve, we cannot guarantee anything. But isn’t that the point of making the reservation? So we can have a regular table due to our situation? Why if wheelchair customers make reservations? When we arrived, of course they gave us a high top table. I plainly said, you guys will have to take the responsibility if something happened to the toddler. Ordering food was no issue but I had to remind them to bring out the kid’s meal first. The food was actually decent. I liked the brunch burger. Meat was cooked beautifully and buns were buttery/fluffy. The entire service, the kept reaching over the table to clean plates. One server asked my friend if she needed more water, she said yes and the server literally passed the water bottle to her to fill it up. I really want to like this restaurant because it’s nice and clean and food is good. But I cannot get past the service part.

I would say my first visit here was a solid 5 star visit and today it was a 3 star. So all tg lets say 4. My first visit we ordered the cinnamon croissant French toast and the local burger medium done. And oh man they were both equally amazing. Flavor was great and cooked perfectly for both. Also got the chicken and waffle that was fine. Food took a while but I don’t mind with the view. As for the second visit, I ordered the local burger again (medium), the steak and eggs (medium as well), and the mascarpone pancakes. Didn’t live up to the first visit, not even close. Both the burger and steak were well-done if not very well-done in my opinion (pics included) and the pancakes were alright. Honestly mostly just disappointed with the cook level. And flavor wasn’t popping as it was before. I came back only a few weeks after bc I loved the initial visit but I think a lot of places have good and bad days. Servers were all very nice though!

Recently went for husband’s birthday dinner date and I’m really impressed with the vibe and views of lokal. Although they have quite selective options for vegetarian delicacy but those too are amazing. We had some flatbreads and pasta. I’m requesting to add some of more vegetarian options for people like us 🙈however we had the great time over there. Thanks for good times:) will be visiting again soon:)

My family and I recently hosted our wedding dinner here with a party of 30. Lokal staff was exceptional from the start to finish. From the waiting staff to the management team i felt i was in really great hands, they regularly came to check on my family and I and made sure things were running smoothly through the entire dinner. I had a mishap with my wedding cake from the bakery i chose and i brought it to the Lokal kitchen staff and management and they were able to fix it perfectly to my liking. We had a few unexpected guests show up and Lokal staff handled it swiftly and with Care. The atmosphere was very elegant and inviting, the view was amazing, the food was amazing as well, we chose two salad options, the salmon and New York strip steak which everyone raved about ! I am absolutely glad i chose Lokal to do my wedding dinner and i had no negative experiences, nothing but a great dining experience there! If anyone is considering having an intimate wedding dinner/occasion there i would absolutely have it at the top of my list! Thank you again Lokal Eatery!

Google
Our lunch here was excellent and easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a very long time. Our waiter was professional, friendly, pleasant, and attentive. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone pour bubbles so gently. The manager was kind and sincere. The food was perfect. We were seated at a table next to the window with a great view of NYC. We enjoyed the piano versions of pop songs playing during our visit. If we lived in the area, we would come here weekly. We will definitely return.

Yelp
If you're looking for a dinner with a view, Lokal nails it! We were initially sat indoors, but the staff was so accommodating and moved us outside right away when we asked. We sat outdoors right on the river, and as the sun set behind the NYC skyline, the whole experience felt like something out of a postcard. Honestly, you could just come for the views alone--but thankfully, the food and drinks hold their own too. The cocktails here are beautiful--the kind you almost feel guilty drinking because they look like artwork, there was even one they lit on fire at the table that added a nice unique touch! We tried several dishes to share: oysters (super fresh), flatbread, lamb chops, lobster orzo pasta, and brussel sprouts. Everything came out thoughtfully plated and full of flavor. The lamb chops were a standout--perfectly cooked and seasoned--and the lobster orzo was rich and comforting without being heavy. If I had one wish, it would be for the portion sizes to be a bit more generous, especially given the price point. That said, Lokal is definitely one of those places where you're paying for the full package: quality food + stunning ambiance + that view. And honestly? Totally worth it for a night out that feels special.

Yelp
It's got a great view and okay food! We sat on their outside-inside patio. They made a point about telling us it's the patio but it's not open air. You can get a view and you're in covered indoors. At least it won't be cold! We got their starter of sweet and savory breads and that was a winner. Not sure what am the stuff was but there was this croissant like item that was both sweet and salty. We had the waffles and chicken, and the shakshuka. Waffle dish was just fine, but the shakshuka was rather disappointing. It seemed like they just dumped canned tomatoes, big lumps of it. Not a whole lot of cooking or stewing, not spiced much either. We had the cake dessert and that was good. Food wise, it was okay. Nothing to rave about. But good enough to hang out for casual brunch riverside with a view. Service was okay. Polite server. That were very quick to fill waters but not the coffee!

Yelp
Gorgeous views of NYC lower Manhattan/one world trade, right on the water. Ambiance was nice, the staff was great- everyone friendly and helpful. The food was good, we went for brunch. There was nothing on the menu that really set them apart from any other restaurant selling brunch. My friends got shakshuka and salmon with eggs Benedict, there were no complaints. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was amazing- crispy and flavorful, but the whole meal came pre-dressed without any extra butter or syrup. The waffles were mostly dry and no crisp exterior, a little chewy and limp. We also opted for the mimosa flight which was delicious- especially the kiwi flavor! It's a bummer it can't be ordered on its own.

Yelp
We were at Lokal for Sunday Lunch on Father's Day, and also to celebrate our friend's birthday. We made reservation a day before to ensure our spot. Upon arriving at our reserved time, we were taken to our table within minutes. I liked the modern aesthetics of the restaurant, very slick and cool furnitures and decors. There was a huge bar too. The restaurant has a clear view of the Hudson and NYC harbor. I started off Allen Katz without the vodka, was a fantastic drink. We got 3 each of East coast and West coast oysters. East were much bugger than west ones. Both were decent and tasted similar to me. For entree I got the lamb burger. The burger itself was pretty good but the salad that came with it was horrible. Seemed like someone just picked the leaves from garden and put them on the plate. No seasoning, no dressing at all. I also got to try the waffle chicken, where chicken was over fried and waffle was too soft and soggy. The overall service was fine. The staff wished me for father's day when we started our lunch. The food came out within short time. I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant, just wish the food quality was better, especially when the prices are so high for each of them.

Yelp
Rude staff and unaccommodating. We called and had a reservation for 8 people and when we arrived, they made us wait another 30 minutes. They crammed all 8 of us at 3 small tables pushed together and it was extremely uncomfortable. They asked 2 people from our party to change their clothing or turn it inside out. MEANWHILE we were fully complying with the dress code. Turns out there were other people in the restaurant with sweatpants and shirts with slogans on them. We felt targeted and rude. Very small portions of food and the food itself was mid. It took about 40 minutes to get our first round of drinks. Unbelievable. This was actually my 5th time coming here and it seemed that the vibe has shifted a lot in the wrong direction over the past couple of years. Everyone was pretty rude there. Definitely won't come back.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and the ambiance was great. We came right before sunset and were seated outside so we had the perfect view. There were many great options to choose from on the menu. We ended up starting with the papas bravas and lamb bites which were great. I also loved the crab orzo. This is a great spot to come for both a nice ambiance and delicious food!

Yelp
Nice place, excellent service. A group of us had a dinner meeting tonight and chose Lokal. The drinks were fantastic. Dinner was good. We were there during happy hour, so I enjoyed the oysters. I ordered the lamb bites and the octopus carpaccio. The lamb bites were just okay, like little meatballs. The octopus carpaccio was shaved extremely thin and was nicely done. It was a nice night with colleagues. We ended the evening with cappuccino and the chocolate box.

Yelp
Lokal used to be my go-to spot for a great happy hour, but since they've changed chefs and updated their menus, it's just not the same anymore. Beautiful view and ambiance overlooking the Hudson River. Drink: Riesling, sweet with a dry finish. 3 for 30 (updated to 3 for $35) Food: Brussel sprouts, calamari & papas bravas Brussels sprouts were acceptable, but they were essentially just salty Brussels flakes, Calamari was super fresh and the star of the show, Papas bravas was delicious, but it was just potatoes with chili sauce.

Yelp
Lokal has a great patio and a great view of Manhattan. They are pet friendly on the patio and have a very decent sized patio. The food was good and we stopped in here for a quick bite during brunch. We got an order of bacon and shared the shashuka. Service was great and friendly and definitely a place I would go back to again.

Yelp
nice service and cocktail menu. could probably do with a wider variety of food options but they were pretty good at least. lovely views of the city.

Yelp
First date night with the wife in ages and a great one to start the year! We started off here and while the place seemed only 1/4 filled on a weeknight, we were told we could only sit at the bar if just having drinks as the tables were reserved for guests that were ordering food. A little odd, but we wanted the better views so we got some apps. Food: We got the fries without the truffle oil - unpopular opinion but fries don't need anything other than salt- let the dipping sauces be on the side as needed! These were delicious and of the matchstick variety. I loved these and do not recall if my wife even had any! Crispy Brussel sprouts- loved the addition of the sliced grapes- nice contrast to the vinaigrette. Focaccia was complimentary and came with a nice dipping oil. This was some serious bread- and if they charged for a second basket I would have gladly paid- but we had dinner reservations elsewhere. Drinks: Lychee martini- solid choice by the wife. Pépa Bonafé- my adventure and woah what just happened- brandy, cinnamon, hibiscus, lime juice, goose and a sugar morsel lit on fire sitting atop a hibiscus flower. So good the wife ordered one for herself! Allen Katz - refreshing pineapple, lime, celery salt and vermouth with goose. Grear color on this one. Overall a great spot for the start of a date night- Manhattan and midtown views across the river and unique selection of food and apps.

Yelp
I really can't think of anything bad to say about this place. Stunning views, beautiful decor, friendly and professional staff, and good food and drinks. They have a great variety of options to choose from, and everything we ordered tasted really good. Edit: 3rd time visiting Lokal, and they are just consistent with quality of food and service. Posting pics of some new items that we tried this time.

Yelp
Visiting Jersey city and friends - our friend recommended this place for best happy hour and best food. However the food were very yummy and I was like wow and all ahh the service was top notch. I will definitely come back for their lamb chop and they were cooked to perfection.

Yelp
Impressive eatery with gorgeous views and good food. I went from Manhattan to JC to hang with a few friends and was floored by the views of Manhattan it to offer... Lokal is an impressive spot with stunning views and tasty food. I traveled from Manhattan to Jersey City to meet up with friends and was blown away by the view of Manhattan. Lokal's strategic location could easily allow it to rely on its view, but the food was surprisingly good. We tried several bar appetizers, including chicken skewers, goat cheese flatbread, Brussels sprouts, and fried calamari--all were quite good. The cocktails are standard, nothing exceptional, but overall, it's a solid place to relax and enjoy a good time.

Yelp
Good food, yummy drinks, gorgeous view & really great service! Be ready to spend but that shouldn't be a surprise based on the location.
google avatar

Gabby A.

Yelp
Everything we ate at Lokal was fresh and flavorful. The plates are small, but that made them great for sharing, and we were able to try lots of things. Personal favorite was the asparagus! The view was the real highlight of this dinner. We came at a beautiful May night right at sunset; the view of the NYC skyline was perfect and their shaded patio is excellent! This is a great spot for a special occasion. The waiter we had was not super friendly, hence the four stars. Otherwise, great meal.
google avatar

Beverly A.

Yelp
Overall rating is 3.5 stars. The location and view are phenomenal!! Can't beat this! The staff were friendly and our food came out relatively quickly. Food-wise, it was just ok. Ordered some appies to start and the rock shrimp was the best one, in my opinion. The snapper, which was the main dish I ordered, was dry and though it tasted fine, the texture was not as enjoyable. By the time it was dark out, the lighting inside the restaurant was also dark so it was hard to see the people seated at your own table. Could've turned the house lights on (or more, maybe?).
google avatar

Trina M.

Yelp
I wish I had taken a nap before coming here lol! My boyfriend and I decided to cap the day off here and realized realized quick we are old and the drinks are good and strong here! We ordered Manhattans and the rock shrimp appetizer- SOOO good!! I forgot to take any photos (told you, I'm old & they was some strong dranks). The interior is so pretty and at night it is PERFECT for romance! 2025 BIG BACK APPROVED!!!

Yelp
My friends and I came here for happy hour around 5 pm on a Friday night. We made a reservation to sit on the patio that way we could see the New York skyline which was beautiful. They have small plates 3 for $30. A bit pricey but honestly what I expect for Jersey city. My only complaint about the happy hour is that the menu indicated draft & bottle beer is $6. However, that only includes Stella, all other beers it does not count. I wish the menu said Stella draft/bottle $6. My husband got a bottle of stout and would have switched to Stella if this was indicated on the menu rather than when we received the check and questioned the waiter. My favorite dish was probably the shishito peppers and chicken skewers. They both had a great chat flavor and were delicious. The oysters were fresh, juicy, and a good size. If I'm in the area I would return again.

Yelp
First let me start by saying that our server iman was fantastic. She was very attentive and positive. She took amazing care of us , she was a 10/10 . If you go we 100% recommend her as a server . The ambiance was also great , great for pictures and a nice time out especially if you enjoy being by the water . If you are driving make sure to get there early ( parking was a bit of a hassle for us). When it comes to the drinks another 10/10 . The food was unfortunately was not the best , we felt as though alot was missing & the menu was a bit all over the place . I will definitely be going back to try some other items but the short rib crackling and the chicken skewers were not for us . I will say that we enjoyed the garlic mashed potatoes. Overall we enjoyed our time and we will be back
google avatar

Luiza A.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Saturday morning and everything was so fresh! The inside is beautiful and the view of the NYC skyline is breathtaking. The staff were super attentive and service was quick. The pastry basket that comes with a chocolate croissant, plain croissant and blueberry muffin were all so fresh. The butter was also absolutely delicious! We split the ricotta toast, mascarpone pancakes, shakshuka and fresh fruit and everything was incredible. My favorites were the ricotta toast which was packed with ricotta and the pancakes were so fresh. The shakshuka was light and refreshing as was the fruit. Would definitely come back for brunch!
google avatar

Yelp
I love Lokal because you can always count on them having space if you're looking for a very early brunch. We typically like to have early brunches, so we can do other things later in the day and they always have space for us. If you come later in the day though, it definitely starts to really fill up. I like that they have patio seating that's covered as well as indoor dining. They're wheelchair accessible, which is a plus. I had the short rib hash, which was really good. Others had eggs benedicts as well as chicken waffles. Everyone was very happy with their choices. I love that they bring you warm pastries as the "bread course". We really enjoyed the corn bread and banana bread. Service was fairly attentive, but tapered off near the end.
google avatar

Patrice T.

Yelp
I went during lunch. I went here to meet friends but ended up being alone. There were a handful of people there. My server was attentive and nice. My martini was delicious. I started with Ceviche which was fresh and flavorful. The steak was pretty good, nothing to rave about. The salad dressing was delicious. All in all, a great lunch.
google avatar

Wilkin T.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoyed this place. The ambiance feels intimate and high class with an amazing view of NYC. The food was delicious and the service was good. No complaints. Expect higher prices for the big plates. Someone's gotta pay for that amazing view and indoor aesthetic, right? ‍ Be warned: There is limited outside parking which requires a permit after two hours or you can risk getting your car towed. There is a parking lot next door which starts at $20 for two hours and keeps climbing, just like the NYC skyscrapers.

Yelp
Went to JC yesterday from Brooklyn to check this place out because of their IG post and the fact that they have happy hour every day Mon-Sunday from 4pm-6pm. The place is by the river one so on the Pat h from WTC, 13min walk from Exchange place station, or a 3-minute ride on the Tram which I didn't know, (but it looks cool and I want to ride it next time). Very nice looking neighborhood and very quiet. Lokal is very cute with nice decor and pleasant staff. I sat at the bar but then moved to the outdoor patio to enjoy the scenery. On the happy hour menu, I had the oysters, which were very fresh. For my drink, I ordered a glass of rosè which was semi sweet but good. Sitting on the patio, I enjoyed the fresh breeze, watching the boats; along with people on their jet skis, I also got to see a Norwegian cruise ship pass by. The view is wonderful. The architecture of the buildings are amazing. I wasn't too hungry to try the dinner menu, but I will def return to try the lamb or the octopus. I had forgotten my card and called ahead to inquire about Google Pay, and I was able to use it to pay.

Yelp
My fiancé and I came here the day after Valentine's Day for dinner and the menu was REALLY small. We were hoping to get wraps or burgers and the menu for the evening had nothing that was really filling. I had chicken with broccolini and wild rice and there was such a tiny piece of chicken for the price it cost. My fiancé did the 3 for $30 happy hour deal and we weren't impressed with the calamari or beef skewers. The ambiance of romance and evening darkness of the restaurant is perfect and scenic and that's really what you're paying for. Their drinks are pretty decent - but pricey as expected. We were pleasantly surprised at how attentive the wait staff was! Three people served us and cleared our table and made sure we had enough water and anything else. We probably wouldn't come back here simply because of the really small menu and lack of selections for dinner time. Also this place gets super packed, as expected so always make reservations since you can't just pop in and expect to be served.
google avatar

Yelp
No excuse for tiny 23.00 cocktails None Yes the space and views are gorgeous and the bartender is great- Manager is excessive in his 'production' of how he commands the floor-almost comical Idk This is a once every so often type of place Maybe this will fly on Madison Ave but not in JC Ridiculous

Yelp
Been here a couple of times now. Food is good. beautiful scenery. Good services. Prices are too high for what they have though. You pay New York prices for New Jersey food.
google avatar

Caterina V.

Yelp
The Ambiance and view made for a special evening to celebrate with friends. The service was attentive.

Yelp
This is my first time coming back to Lokal after I moved out of the area. Always delicious food and a great happy hour!
google avatar

Yelp
The view alone makes this place a must go . Now add the food and service And you have the perfect combination. There is something for everyone hear vegetarian vegan options fish beef and chicken. Everything we tried was delicious . Even a kids menu to satisfy my nephew. The space is so beautiful perfect for cocktails and tapas or to sit and have wonderful meal. Parking can be tricky if you don't pay for it at the lot well worth it for this place.
google avatar

Jack Z.

Yelp
Good drinks, good service, but the food I wouldn't order again. The scallops tasted like they were cooked two days ago and reheated in the microwave before serving.
google avatar

Coco R.

Yelp
I went for a birthday dinner the octopus and calamari was great.. we also had the cheese board which was great.not a fan of the rock shrimp though too much sauce overpowering. the venue is nice location and beautiful inside from the lighting to the decorations. The employees are very polite and courteous. The bathroom prestine. I doubt I'll be back unless for drinks or quick happy hour not really fan of their dinner menu.
google avatar

Jason P.

Yelp
You go for the views, not the food. Truly such a cute place inside with amazing views, which if you're lucky will distract you from the food since it's mid at best. Went for brunch and overall felt the tzatziki on the lamb burger was overpowering, the Mac and cheese was a bit watery, and the pancakes were overcooked and dried out. The drinks were pretty good and the service was decent. I'd try it another time, but wouldn't have high expectations for the food. Hudson & Co is right next door which has the same views and much better food.
google avatar

Miguel Q.

Yelp
Lokal is a solid restaurant with a great view of the NYC skyline. I had some great food here with great tasting drinks. My wife and I enjoyed our date night and saw a few others enjoying theirs too. My only issue is not with the restaurant but with Jersey city parking. We got lucky but still had to walk over a few long blocks. There is a parking lot next to the restaurant which can solve that problem if you're willing to spend a few more bucks.
google avatar

Amit K.

Yelp
Wow. The cocktails are on point. The food was great. Very innovative and just hits the spot. The view of city is great. Overall a great experience. On a Monday it was not busy so nice quiet dinner. On busy nights I would think it gets loud.
google avatar

Ali S.

Yelp
One star less for the truffle fries and wait time. Service is great views are great. Food is a 7/10 above average and not to heavy which is a plus. Cocktail menu is limited and happy hour has no drink specials.
google avatar

Darsha M.

Yelp
Lokal was great! The ambience is nice, especially if you sit outside and can see the city skyline. We first ordered a few apps. The truffle mac and cheese was delicious! It was lighter than expected and I loved the garnishes on top. The croquettes were okay, the cheese tasted a little artificial. For my entrée I ordered the spicy shrimp campanelle. The spice was on the milder side but the overall dish was great and filling!
google avatar

Sophia P.

Yelp
Great drinks. Went here for Valentine's Day and it was a rip off. I was not pleased. The food was ok and the portions were very small for the big fixed menu price.

Yelp
Short rib of course! LOL tender and juicy. I don't remember anything else cause I was crushing on my date. But yeah... go! #TenderAndJuicy

Yelp
Checked this place out for a birthday dinner my friend planned for me and had the best time! Ambiance was nice and chic-looking with the option of outdoor seating (we decided to sit indoor since it was a bit hot outside). Once we were all seated, our server was attentive and helpful in choosing our cocktails to start off with. I decided to try the Watermelon Sames, which tasted refreshing and perfect for the summer (comes with a watermelon ball)! We also ordered a bunch of appetizers such as the seafood tower, truffle fries, goat cheese croquettes, etc. followed by our entreé, where majority of us ordered the braised short ribs. All tasted amazing and cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend for a celebration! Would also come back to check out their happy hour.

Yelp
Let me start by saying the costumer service was top tier, started out with Caesar salad 10/10, for small plates me and my wife got lamp chops , papas bravas, and a ceviche when I tell you everything was so delicious I literally liked the plate, for entree I got the roasted chicken it was so juicy and flavorful, and my wife got the braised short ribs it melts once u touch. For dessert we shared a tiramisu(bomb).the whole experience I give it a 9.7 out of 10 and that's only because I do give out 10 lol

Yelp
Beautiful views of the NY skyline in Jersey City. -This is a great date night place or just to grab food/drinks with friends. I've been here for brunch and dinner. -The food was delicious both times (check out my photos for a good visual). -The service was great both times with courteous staff with a minimal to no wait time for seating. I highly recommend this place especially in the spring/summer when outdoor dining is available.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years but always find myself with a different owner and different name. But I love the vibe and the service. Whoever came out with the idea was a genius. Great location feel more warm and welcoming. The price is $$ but the service and location is what is priceless. Will return with my Zumba crew perhaps on Mother's Day. I will return.

Yelp
First time at Lokal, they take only online reservations. You can find street parking or a couple of paid parking places close by. As soon out as soon you walk in, you would immediately be drawn to ambiance and the stunning New York city skyline view, so beautiful at anytime of the day or night. We ordered plenty of small plates , if you are a vegetarian like me there is a decent selection which is refreshing. The food and flavors itself I felt were good , however since everything on the menu is so pricey I expected it to reflect on the taste. I have had better charred cauliflower and Brussels sprouts in a local cafe. We enjoyed our drinks too, my server got my drink selection wrong 3 times , and the 4th time I insisted he make a note. Others on the table as well were a bit disappointed with the drink service. The drinks range from 18-25$ again pricier than the usual bars in the area. However the views and the ambience make up for it, and I see it as an occasional splurge. Overall we had a really enjoyable evening.

Yelp
I visited Lokal yesterday, an early Saturday afternoon to catch up over brunch with my cousin. Lokal is wonderfully situated right on the river edge overlooking the Hudson, and on a bright day like yesterday the City skyline view was wonderful. The views are great, and there is plenty of outdoor seating so finding a spot wasn't terribly hard and the area wasn't congested. The food and drinks are pricey, but that's expected considering that piece of real estate. But of course with high prices come high expectations for food, drink, and service. The cocktails range from $18-25 but a small portion of typical brunch drinks are slightly less expensive. I shared a mimosa flight with my cousin, which includes four flavors - mango, passion fruit, watermelon, and classic orange. This was very good and I recommend it. At just $28 it's a good way to get toasty. I followed up with a $15 Aperol Spritz which had a generous pour, a good value for drinks. Onto the food, I definitely recommend the ricotta lemon pancakes. Absolutely delectable texture with a lovely light lemony flavor, topped with fresh berries. I'd come back just to order pancakes. The Shakshuka is also good. Classically done. The dessert option was only a crime brûlée and we tried it. I don't recommend it. It was a bit cheesy and lukewarm, im sure you have had better, and it cost $14, so skip it. Onto the service, it was consistently friendly but also consistently slow. 10 minutes to order. 15 for drinks. Another 5 to put in the food order. The food came out within 25 minutes, and I ordered my second drink when it did, but by the time I got it I was already finished eating. Another 20 minutes between ordering the dessert and getting it. The servers were hard to flag down. In total - food is decent, drinks are great, service was slow.
