The Best Restaurants and Bars in Carlsbad, California | Eater San Diego

"This fine-casual taco shop was recognized with a Michelin Bib Gourmand for dishes like the Baja fish taco with chorizo-tomato vinaigrette, a mesquite chicken taco grilled on the kitchen smoker, and creamy peruanos beans. The rainbow cauliflower taco satisfies vegans and omnivores alike, while the Lola margarita pairs nicely with any of the bunch." - Candice Woo

Just tried and enjoyed thoroughly. Their menu is full of fun and different twists on traditional Mexican food. Completely upscale. You order at the register and they bring your food to the table. The food comes out quick and hot. The service is done with a smile and they are happy to answer any questions. We had the: Achiote Chicken taco - large portion, lots of flavor Squashroom taco - this taco has so much flavor it knocks your socks off! So good! Mexican street corn - yummy but a little runny

This is a good spot for Mexican, with happy hour Tuesday thru Sunday, and all day on Tuesday with Taco Tuesday. The ceviche and corn/elote are really good.

Absolutely fantastic food and drinks! I had the steak taco, the mesquite chicken taco and the ceviche and honestly both tacos are some of the best I've had in California. The ceviche was fresh, delicious and the chip it chips it comes with is bomb! There is some heat (spice) associated with this place, so know that going in, but my wife is super sensitive to spice and she cleaned her plate, so it wasn't as spicy as some other reviews have described. Personally, I can't wait to go back and try more!

Lola 55 in Carlsbad has a lot of potential with its tempting cocktail menu, but the food doesn’t live up to expectations, especially for the price. The cocktails are great, but the food falls flat. We asked for non-spicy rice for the kids' quesadillas, but the manager told us, “that’s how we make it,” which seemed odd for a kids' dish. The beans were bland and lacked seasoning. One of the biggest disappointments was the cold corn tortillas for the small tacos, which only take a couple of bites to finish. While the ingredients seem decent, the portions are just too small. Overpriced, I won’t be going back. *noticed that most ‘positive’ reviews are paid influencers or employees

San Diego Taco Series, Part 13 When I reflect on our first few years of producing “Henry’s Take”, I have to admit that I’m surprised how many times we’ve had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with the owners of various businesses. And so it was during our first visit to “Lola 55.” The owner Frank so enthusiastically welcomed our discussion about his place that we thought he might just pull up a chair and join our Review Team! During our time with him we mentioned that the beans and rice were amazing and he told us that he believes the beans at a Mexican restaurant are the truest litmus test of quality. According to him, “If the beans are no good, the other menu options will probably not be very good either.” So how did the beans here end up being so delicious? Well after their initial attempts yielded beans that were good, but not great, Frank asked his mom to share her personal recipe with the kitchen staff and demonstrate how to make them the way she always has. Seems fitting that he named the place after her, don’t you think? 👏 As for the tacos, we sampled several different offerings and the presentation of each was carefully thought out by “Team Lola.” My favorite (in terms of presentation and flavor) was the “Baja Style Fish” Taco. If you’re in the mood for something with a little kick, several of us were impressed by the spicy staying power of the “Mesquite Chicken” Taco. The after affects of the chilis in the peanut macha salsa lingered for several minutes after we enjoyed this taco powerhouse. If you’re interested in Vegan taco offerings, there are several on the menu including the “Rainbow Cauliflower” and the “Squa-shroom.” Multiple Gluten-free options are also available including “Elote” (when in season). Although our focus during this visit was the tacos, we couldn’t resist ordering the “Quesadillas Oaxaca” and they were excellent. If you choose to visit, ask to meet Frank and tell him that we sent you! And that’s…Henry’s Take. #sandiegotacoseries Photo credit: @markschiel

This place has such a cool vibe going on. We chose this place because it's on the Michelin Guide, and seriously, the cooks appear eager and ready to make delicious food. Everything was clean, and the food was made to order with flavor that left an impact. I'm definitely returning for more, we tried five tacos, beans and rice but my favorite item was the quesadillas Oaxaca. Eat and order here with confidence.

The birria bowl was bomb. Also got the chips and salsa flight which was smaller than expected, but delicious.

Google
I’ve never seen a restaurant “sold out” of a large portion of their menu. The tacos were good, but $6.50 is way overpriced. Everything else looked nice but was pretty flavorless. You order food yourself on a tablet when you walk in. They bring your food, but they don’t bring silverware or water.

Yelp
Artisan tacos, are very yummy! Pros: neighborhood gem. Individual tacos ordered, nice so you don't have a bunch of sides you don't want. Open kitchen so you know no one is doing the 5 sec rule:) Each one is made with care, very tasty! Cons: So far limited options but not a problem. If it's winter, hopefully, they add outdoor seating. Look forward to going back!

Yelp
It wasn't busy and the restaurant was filthy. This in itself is really concerning. What's going on in the kitchen if there's no pride in the appearance of the main restaurant? Tables were not bussed; it was 2 PM and there wasn't a single person walking around cleaning. After we ordered, we were told to pick any table that was open. There were no clean tables to choose; there was food and debris on the floor in addition to table numbers and dishes across most of the tables. The restaurant wasn't busy. The person who took our order was very nice, but can't be the greeter at the counter, the food runner AND the busser. They bussed the tables. Clearly this place is poorly managed. We went during their soft opening and returned in hopes it was better. It wasn't. The food really is mediocre. Not sure why nor how it's Michelin "recommended." The flavors don't gel and they drown the tacos in sauce in hopes people will be distracted that there isn't any flavor elsewhere.

Yelp
We drove down to Carlsbad to try the tacos from Lola 55. Lola 55 is tucked away in an open area shops and personal health boutiques on a hill. We ordered from the kiosk. We were able to customize our tacos. Once our order was placed, it took awhile for our food to come to the table. The food tacos were delicious. DJ's rating: 4,35/5.00 Would we come back? Maybe.

Yelp
So let's see, I'm a service guy and there's no service at this restaurant. You punch a screen that has pictures of food put your card in and wait. Then the food comes and when I say it's a street taco it's a street taco, the steak in the steak taco was nice, but overall not a place I would return to. There was a similarity of spice in everything we had no chips and salsa and no service. It's all I got.

Yelp
Feeling peckish while doing some weekday shopping with a girlfriend and stopped in for a snack right at opening so had the place almost to ourselves. With the expansive interior and exterior dining areas, however, there's plenty of room to accommodate busy mealtimes as well. Love me a fancy taco, and the Pork Belly Adobada (achiote pork belly, mesquite pineapple, bitter greens, avocado mousse, crema, cilantro) and Steak (mesquite grilled steak, mash, avocado mousse, smokey Padilla salsa, crispy onions, jalapeño toreado, lime) were both well prepared and full of flavor. Service was a bit lacking - I didn't mind ordering at a kiosk or serving ourselves water, but the person who brought our plates neglected to even provide napkins!

Yelp
I do like craft tacos, but I didn't enjoy these. The smoked carnitas one has good flavor but the texture wasn't enjoyable. I liked the pickled onion and avocado mouse which went well with the meat. The portion size is small and you are supposed to eat them as is. Meaning if you ask for extra sauce or a different topping, they charge you! Rice was so-so and drinks from the bar were watery. On the positive, the ambiance is nice (and the restaurant is very clean. You can see the kitchen since it is open. I would have preferred regular tacos at a taco shop and not these ones.

Yelp
I came here after a Yelp event and thought I would grab a quick bite rather go home and make dinner. The place wasn't packed but it was busy. There were two iPads to place your order. You can remove items if you wish. Enter a table number (located below the order iPad) and bring it to your table. If you want a glass of water, there's a water station with lemons at the counte I ordered the squa-shroom and mesquite chicken taco. The mesquite taco arrived first. It was flavorful but very spicy for me. There wasn't much on it for $4.75. The squa-shroom ($5.98) was also spicy and flavorful but had much more to the taco than the chicken. Overall, both tacos were too spicy for my taste. This was more of a 3.5 score for me overall for these pricey tacos.
google avatar

Britt T.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday evening, there was a short line because one of the ordering iPads was not working. We also found out that they were out of steak once we went to order, which was disappointing. Menu is small and I was also disappointed there were no chips and salsa. Decor was beautiful and comfortable. Several tables in the shade outside were not bussed so we sat inside, where there were also several tables left dirty as well. I appreciated the non alcoholic beer & cocktail options, but both drinks were ordered were forgotten and we had to ask where they were once the food was already delivered. Food also does not come out together. We ordered the mesquite chicken, fish taco, smoked carnitas x2. The star was the smoked carnitas, very tender and flavorful. The chicken was a bit too spicy, and the fish taco was juicy and saucy but a little one note and lacking something. Overall the service is lacking, menu is limited, ambiance beautiful, and food good but I probably won't be back.

Yelp
If you are ever in San Diego and want a scrumptious fish taco, the Baja fish taco from Lola 55 is the one to get. The fish was light, flaky, and crispy. Not only was it delicious, but the taco itself is a work of art. Paired with a remoulade, chorizo-tomato vinaigrette, mizuna, pickled serrano, and purple basil, the presentation was . I also tried the smoked carnitas taco, this was okay.

Yelp
In a nutshell, clean high quality ingredients for Mexican food. You walk in, order with the cashier (I think this part can be improved) there was only one cashier so the line queue was long and painfully slow. There has to be a more efficient way to place orders. Thus, our food came out at very slow times. We were a party of 8, by the time the last couple of our group ordered and sat with us, the first couple who ordered were almost done with their food. Nonetheless, food was good. Not the street style tacos I normally enjoy, but I can tell they use fresh ingredients. Caesar salad is one of the best I've had. I wish the "carne" taco was a bit more diced. Same with the al pastor. Luckily both meats were tender and allowed for easy biting into the taco. Nice addition to the Beacon complex.

Yelp
Unfortunately we tried to eat at this location, after visiting the one in San Diego, and were turned down. We got to the location 15 min prior to closing (based on their posted schedule which is also on Apple Maps) and they told us the kitchen had already closed and did not allow us to order. I know it is the suburbs, but turning down a group of 5 hungry people 15 min prior to official closing seems a little short sided. Not sure I care to go back and try it!
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoyed this place. All the tacos and sides are ordered a la carte. They also have a downtown SD location. The service was fast for the food but slower for the drinks. The cocktails were good but a little weak. I got the carnitas taco and the pork belly. They tasted delicious. I also got the rice. It was on the pricey side for Mexican because they are gourmet tacos.

Vicki E.

Yelp
Best ever fish tacos!! Everything is made to perfection. Highest quality ingredients... all fresh. Must try.

Aaron Z.

Yelp
Service is non existent. Food is fairly good. But service sucks. Sorry we waisted our time. By 9:30 all cheers were picked up and staff was swiping over our us. Again -- DISAPOINTING. and super BAD SERVICE.
google avatar

Ellre W.

Yelp
I was so excited to see that they opened up this location in North County after all the great things I heard about their downtown location. The restaurant has a modern casual feel. There is plenty of seating (tables, sofas, bar seating) both inside and outside the restaurant. Due to the open kitchen design, you can even see the food being prepared. All the tacos are $4.95+. I opted for the smoked carnitas taco. It comes with pork shoulder, crisped maciza (white meat of pig), shaved tomatillo, avocado mousse, pickled red onion, and cilantro. The meat wasn't too dry or too fatty, and the crisped maciza made for a good bite/texture.

Kallan C.

Yelp
Perfect spot for some upscale tacos. Presentation is wonderful and taste is exceptional!! Tons of seating in this modern restaurant. Staff were helpful. You can order at a kiosk or counter.

Jordan M.

Yelp
Not sure where all of the complaints about service are coming from, this isn't a sit down restaurant where you are being waited on so why would you expect as such? In my experience the employees were significantly more attentive and friendly than a typical "order at the counter" spot, but I'm sure everyone's experience could vary. Tacos were great, and well worth the price in my opinion. I could see the argument that they were a smidge on the pricey side, but I think they were in line of what to expect in coastal Southern California. Loved the outside seating, if I had more time to spend I could have easily had a few more margaritas while hanging out with friends on the couches out there. Overall a great spot and will be back!

Yelp
5/5, 10/10, 110% - we happened upon Lola 55 for lunch (we've been waiting for it to open) and it was fantastic! My mother and I are both vegetarians and we split a rainbow cauliflower taco, a squa-shroom taco and the elote. All of them were well priced, well plated, interesting and very flavorful. The tacos were not your typical two bite tacos - they are substantial and very filling. The elote was delicious, tender and really hit the spot between salty and sweet. I think we could've eaten 100 of these. (Hot tip: pick it up and eat it like a cob! We tried cutting through it at first and ultimately discovered the error of our ways). You order at the front and then sit where you wish. We sat at the bar seating overlooking the open kitchen - so cool to see the wood burning racks charring cauliflower and corn. The restaurant itself is beautiful with ample seating indoors and out. Seemed perfect for business lunches, friends, dates, family etc. so happy to have this in North County!

Yelp
I love this place and have been waiting for it to open. I really enjoy their food it's fresh and delicious. I've been the the other location and I'm so happy is so close to me now. The space is airy with an open kitchen, tables, Bar seating and a small patio. I order different things based on my mood but this visit I grabbed a fish taco. It was perfectly crispy with a nice kick (jalapeño? Slices), greens and a delicious creamy sauce. I can't wait to come back and bring friends!

Yelp
I am obsessed! I love all the food, drinks, and desserts at Lola 55!! The flavors are authentic and modern at the same time. All the tacos are good, I love the creativity with each one and the beautiful presentation. I've literally tried them all and they're all good. The drinks are delicious and well balanced, and the desserts aren't too sweet. I love it all!! Even the mocktails are good. Must try!! The service is good too, and there is free parking, though you may have to drive around a bit to find one if you go on the weekends.

Yelp
Cute place! Meet friends here for happy hour. It's more like tapas. We ordered the chicken taco spicy and pozole soup. The taco was delicious such great flavor. The soup was delicious as well. Staff is really nice and the drinks were good as well. Great service. Will be back!
google avatar

Tiffany S.

Yelp
We came here to hear Andrew Pena. Not knowing anything about it. Sooo happy!! We all had different tacos and everyone loved theirs!!! Heard the margaritas are amazing!!! Yes!! So happy to find this place (thanks Andrew for playing here). New favorite spot!!!

Yelp
We had an enjoyable time at Lola 55. The chicken and fish tacos did not disappoint. They did not hold back on the spice on the smoked carnitas and squashroom tacos and it definitely packed a punch. The only off dish would be the pork taco, which was on the saltier side. But beautiful presentation on all dishes. The service was as expected for a fast casual. They didn't come to bother you much except to bring you the food after ordering by yourself at the kiosk. The decor feels modern and comfortable. Love the couches.
google avatar

Sam M.

Yelp
Tacos are great. Service is not. When going there a ton of tables hadn't been cleared or cleaned from lunch. Broken ordering tablet so there was a line. The person working there didn't go to the counter cash register to help ease the flow of ordering from the self serve tablet until someone went there and stood waiting for a few minutes to get attention. Staff had a very "hate my life" vibe. Shame cause food is delicious but had a few friends who said they had the same experience.
google avatar

Shelly F.

Yelp
Fast casual taco place with a cute patio. Tacos were decent, would have been better if the tortilla was warmed up before serving. It wasn't what I was expecting but I may give it another try when in that shopping center. I think this more ideal for families/kids with its more laid back fast casual style. While there, some families came in, kids free to run around the restaurant and patio.

Jennifer A.

Yelp
4/10. The food was fine, but not great. The presentation is simple and nice. You order on an iPad and the food is brought to your table. The food arrived quickly, but when the food was brought to us, the staff member couldn't remember what the items were called--not professional. On the iPad, the 10% tip preset did not calculate properly and charged 20%--this not okay at all, especially for a restaurant that is majority self-service. Our utensils were also not clean. There were still pieces of food on them--kind of gross. For 4 people, it cost about $100 (no drinks). It's cute decor and an outdoor patio, but the service really needs some improvement.
google avatar

Trisha V.

Yelp
This place feels like family. Although beautiful inside and out you can take your family here or go on a date, both would be wonderful. Large out door patio with fire pits to enjoy our gorgeous weather. The menu boasts crowd pleasures like carne asada tacos or special tacos like a squash mushroom with vegan chorizo. Yum! The staff is always smiling and helpful. They also don't mind that the family can be a little messy.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun new place but quite slow service. You order at the counter and it takes long while to get the food. If you don't love very spicy or non vegetarian food there is not a lot on the menu for you. The servers were a bit confused by which items were spicy and which were not. One told me one taco wasn't spicy at all and it was like a 10 on the spice level. When I told another server about this they said, "oh yes that's our spiciest taco". Or maybe the first person just wanted to laugh at my reaction of tasting something so spicy and they weren't confused after all???? The corn was super tasty but I would prefer it cut off the cob. It's not so easy to eat (you have to use your hands) and it all gets stuck in your teeth and its quite messy. I think they should serve it off the cob so you can eat it more easily. It has a yummy sauce that comes on it too. The beans were fantastic as well as the Ceviche which was served with the most delicious dark green tinted homemade tortilla chips. When we asked a server why they were green she had no idea and had never tasted them (kind of weird, servers should know what the food tastes like). These few chips were so amazing that I think they should package them and sell bags of them. I could have eaten 3 dozen of them on the spot. The tacos, hit or miss. I did not find a taco I liked. We were told by a server that the Carnitas Taco is the best one but it had not been recommended to us when we were ordering and we ended up trying the others which were disappointing. I like the way it has an open kitchen and you can watch what's going on. They also had tasty mocktails (and cute bartenders heehee). I will definitely return even if it's just for the beans and the chips.

Yelp
Stoked to have a new Mexican joint right by me at The Beacon, especially with the Tesla charging station nearby - perfect for a taco run while my car juices up. They've got this self-service thing going on where you order from a kiosk or at the counter before you sit down. Not really my favorite since I enjoy meaningful interactions with the staff, but I get why they're doing it, what with rising labor costs and all. Sadly, the tacos are a bit of a bummer - pricey, tiny, and kinda bland. They also do not travel well. The support staff isn't all that welcoming, and everything's extra since it's served a la carte. Kinda disappointing, to be honest. The margarita was the only highlight for me.
google avatar

Renee H.

Yelp
Love this new spot. They had only been open a week and I thought they did a great job. The food is amazingly delicious! Many vegetarian options. We had the squash and shroom taco and the rainbow cauliflower taco. Unbelievable flavors and so yummy. Great open kitchen. So reasonably priced for super delicious food. I will go back here again and again.

Mike M.

Yelp
An easy 4.5 if Yelp ever allowed such a thing, Lola 55 is a great place to pop in for a few tacos and a drink. They were sadly out of the al pastor, but the smoked carnitas with tomatillo was excellent and the steak taco hit the spot as well. Service was friendly and inviting. Excited to go back for more
google avatar

Anna Z.

Yelp
I've been waiting for this spot to open, and they did not disappoint! My eyes are always bigger than my stomach when I order, but it was so delicious I ate everything. This is a taco place and definitely was the best items I tried on the menu. Pork belly taco and fish taco was very flavorful, I like how there is only one layer of tortilla so you get a nice balanced portion of meat with each bite, not overly greasy or oily. Service was fast for my take out order. When come in, the bar is captivating and is the centerpiece of the restaurant. It lights up the whole place and looks super inviting. Can't wait to grab a drink there in the future

Yelp
Could be a 5, so close!! We came in for a lunch and ordered all the tacos except for the mushroom. Ok so in ordered of best to worst: Fish- amazing, crispy light spice so delicious Cauliflower- yes you read that correct! It was really good and definitely unique. Steak- juicy and flavorful. Really good Pork belly - tasty. It was good but could have just a little more punch of something. Didn't have that Al pastor flavor to me. Carnitas- good a little soggy needed to be crisped up Chicken- not good. We could not put our finger on why but something was off.. almost fishy?! Not sure but it was Bad. Only other comment would be to have some background music on. It could help with ambiance.

Yelp
My wife and I went for a quick drink and appetizers, since we live in the area. We had their pozole, mesquite chicken taco and smoked carnitas tacos. Great flavors and good size tacos. One small detail is that they need to warm up the tortillas before serving the tacos. Big time difference when you eat a taco with a cold tortilla. Overall nice new restaurant and definitely we are coming back sometime soon :-)
google avatar

Vince L.

Yelp
The best tasting item here is the tortilla and the medium rare steak. Pretty much tried everything here. Everything else was bad..... worse thing was the ceviche. It literally tasted like canned tuna. Would highly recommend not to waste your time

Yelp
I was a little nervous to try this place out based n the mixed reviews, but it was good. Ambiance: Good. The decor is nice. I'm a little confused with the walk up and order situation and then on the other side is a hang out bar situation. Service: Slow. As mentioned, the walk up makes the process very slow. Our food took a good amount of time and comes out when ready. So half the table had food while the other half waited. Food. Yummy. We got the mushroom, eggplant, and pork tacos. All very flavorful. The masa chips are addictive! A must try. Pazole is rich and delish. The mocktsil we got was tart and refreshing. Well for sure go back, especially when it warms up and sit outside.

Chris R.

Yelp
So I really wanted to love this place. My first clue was there was no one here at 5:30 pm. You order food at the counter. Ok. Can't sit on the nice patio- no explanation. The Lola marg was good but not 13 bucks worth. Nope. The Baja fish taco everyone raved about was meh. A little overcooked. The carnitas taco was decent but nothing to write home about. Plus the whole time I'm trying to eat, there is a kid cleaning the floors around me! The floors that already look clean! Seriously. Nope will not be returning. Too many great tacos around here.
google avatar

Nancy B.

Yelp
Tacos here are amazing! So much better than the taco stand or city tacos which are both great and in Encinitas. These tacos are big and filling! The flavor combos are soo unique and ingredients are so fresh. Wonderful outdoor seating if you have a pup.

Samuel C.

Yelp
Incredibly delicious food was delivered to our home for my birthday lunch! Everyone was gloriously happy with the layers, and layers and layers of great flavors. My wife ordered up combo platters of fantastic tacos, with Steak Tacos, their fabulous take on Baja Fish, and then smokey carnitas. Bonus for the ceviche starter and the churros with cajeta dipping sauce for desert!

Paul M.

Yelp
Small servings. Out of a lot of entries. No one seemed happy working there. No one in charge. Food mediocre. Can't figure out the hype. Out of silverware. Really?

Austin B.

Yelp
Been here plenty of times at this point, some of the best tacos I have had. If you are ok paying more for a better taco than most places around here, would recommend checking it out.
google avatar

J M.

Yelp
We were brought here by an article about great restaurants to visit. We were excited but highly disappointed. We love tacos and enjoy trying tacos all around San Diego county. We got the pork belly, carnitas, chicken, and cauliflower. We also got the beans and rice. The refried beans were decent but the rice was not impressive. Overall very average food.
google avatar

Nick N.

Yelp
Waited for this location to open and totally worth it. We got one of every taco, the 3 gluten free for my wife with celiac and the others for me. As a lover of classic tacos, I found myself surprised that the Squash taco was clearly the best. Read the ingredients and marvel in wonder about how that's what you just ate. Taco changed my life. That beet soyrizo in it ate with with the texture of meat and carried a great spice The fish taco surprised me with the delicacy and lightness. It carried the south California expectations of a fish taco with any heavy ness from being batter. This place is a must go

Yelp
I was blown away with experience tonight despite initial concerns might be grab and go type based on self serve and pick a number aspect. Not only did staff go above and beyond to welcome us and explain menu {shoutout Monica} but the drinks and food were "chefs kiss" could've sat there all night drinking the aloha drink and eating the pork belly tacos and rainbow cauliflower all night! We have learned everything made fresh and to order even the juice in the cocktails were cold pressed! So impressed with this gem of a restaurant. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
This is an innovative gourmet taco shop with a lovely atmosphere, and a living-room like area with chairs and a sofas facing the bar. It is the sister restaurant of the Michelin-noted Lola 55 in downtown San Diego. Every taco is assempled with care, with some unusual pairings, and photo-ready. The margaritas are zesty and unique, with black salt (?) on the rim. And I had attentive service, including from the owner. I only wish they had more things on their menu, but have liked everything I have had.

Yelp
My criteria for good Mexican restaurant is pretty simple... Good food, good service, and good margaritas at a fair price. Unfortunately, this business met none of the criteria. As a La Costa resident, I was really looking forward to the opening of Lola 55 in the Beacons shopping center. First, I have to say how disappointed I was with their house Margarita. I prefer margaritas that are lime-based and Lola's margarita was grapefruit based. I'm not a fan of grapefruit juice... Just way too bitter for me. Unfortunately, there were no other options for other margaritas. Failure #1! I then opted for a cosmopolitan which ultimately tasted like fruit flavored High-C drink. Horrible! As mentioned, in other reviews, you have to order from a counter. I had heard much to do about their tacos and ordered several varieties to include fish, chicken, Carne, Asada, and Carnitas. Although the tacos came out looking beautiful on the plate, they were cold and lacked any flavor. The chicken taco was way too salty and I ended up not finishing any of the food I ordered. Failure #2! I let the staff know how disappointed I was with the quality of food, despite this feedback , there was no offer to bring out a new taco or take the food off of the bill. The check came out in the amount of $85... failure #3! Forgot to mention that the restaurant does not serve chips and salsa... a fact that left me scratching my head! Overall, I was incredibly disappointed and will not be back as there are way too many great taco places in town that serve good margaritas at a fair price. Adios Lolas... I won't be back.

Yelp
A slightly different take on typical taco cuisine. Tortillas are made fresh, meat was juicy and flavorful. Masa bites were a delightful surprise - like tortilla chips but puffier and chewier.

Yelp
Had a nice lunch today out on the patio..it was awesome that we were able to have our dog with us. Chatted with a nice gentleman we found out was the owner. Always a bonus to find out the owner is a cool guy you want to support. The tacos are delicious and unique. While I'm not vegetarian- the Lion's Mane taco is my new favorite! Everything is so fresh and flavorful. The drinks are great too. This is our new go-to place and one to share with friends.
